After calling about every 4x4 shop in town and being told that they only work on Jeeps & Toyotas and were too busy too even book me in for no sooner than 2 months out. S&H 4-Wheel Drive came to the rescue. Not only was John able to get me an awesome deal on New wheels & tires, they were also able to install some aftermarket accessories I brought in. That being a horn upgrade, bullbar w/led, ditch lights, cd player, custom switches and also a 1.5 leveling kit. I will definitely be coming back here again.
Fantastic work done here; ask for Dan!
Very happy with their service and communication. They took the time to explain things and make some additional recommendations that have really helped.
Dropped off a winch for some repairs after the guy I got it from put hydraulic fluid in the electric winch. 🤦♂️ They were super responsive to all of my inquiries and turned it around in the timeline and price they quoted. Also had some nice rigs to look at in the shop. I will use them again if the need ever arises.
Busy shop appointments necessary ... over priced labor tend to push there own vendor products pulled my jeep discouraged from continuing... nice shop friendly guys but still just didnt feel the vibe ... 🙃
4x4 pros, no job too small or too tall, they get it done ! Your the best .
I scheduled an appointment 3 weeks in advance just to have them reschedule twice because they couldn’t get my parts to the right location. They seem very scatter brained and unprofessional. I called the day before my second reschedule just to find out yet again the parts weren’t there and they needed to reschedule. I informed John 6 times I was moving this weekend. He didn’t seem to care or do anything to try to fit in my appointment. Never returning to this shop. Don’t waste your time and find somewhere that will take care of you unlike S&H.
They rebuilt out ‘85cj7 after another facility did some negligent work that was dangerous. Johnny and crew were responsive and really helped us understand why they were recommending many of the choices they did. New rear end, fuel injection, power brakes, vacuum system, and main seal are just a few things they did. It took a while, but was worth it. Jeep runs great. Looking forward to getting it smogged and tagged.
Horrible customer service, John ordered wrong part tryed to blame me,then didnt want to return my money.
Always a pleasure
Got a nice deal on tires here..
I just drove up without an appointment. Don found my vacuum leak in a like 10 minutes. Ordered a part and had it installed the next day. I also thought I stripped threads on manifold bolt holes for spower steering pump but they determined it was fine was just my lack of experience so didnt charge me anything for that. All and all I found them to be honest and fair priced. I will return for anything I cant handle myself
S & H 4 Wheel Drive did an excellent job repairing our transfer case. Even when the parts needed were no longer available, Don and his team spent hours researching to find parts to make it work. Don also found a corrected a number of deficiencies in the lift kit installation previously done. Our Jeep now functions correctly after years of a make-shift, improper set-up.Excellent communications and customer service. We will definitely return when we have repair needs.
I would not trust these guys w your Jeep! The place was good back in the day. Don’t go here unless you want substandard work/can’t complete jobs correctly, and your Jeep held hostage months on end (5 months) when you were originally told 3-6 weeks. On our restoration work, there was three major issues they were to fix and several minor issues. Of the 4 major items, they only completed 1 of 4. And of the 1 they completed had to have it redone at another shop. The others they messed up badly, had to go to another shop to have the work redone correctly. Communication is poor. Owner tried to hide out, when you start to ask 1, 2, 3, 4 months past original due date why they can’t get it finished. He actually ducks calls, has his mechanics cover/dodge for him if you try to get a hold of him to get some level of responsibility out of him after your vehicle 2,3,4,5 months past due. In the meantime it’s not like you you can drive the vehicle out of the shop and go elsewhere as your Jeep is taken apart, parts all over their shop!Real reason your Jeep will just sit, their two overworked mechanics (who make many mistakes since they are overworked) will drop everything if they have a fleet account! Which is often. So if you aren’t a customer that has a large number of delivery trucks they service, your repairs will sit week after week, month by month. Steer clear if you are just simply the owner of one single Jeep. You will always go to the back of the line, repeatedly if their fleet accounts come in. Note, there were other customer jeeps sitting in their for months on end besides my own!Another negative they leave your Jeep sitting outside. During a heavy rain the overworked mechanics are often too busy to bring the Jeep inside. Mine left out a few times. If your Jeep didn’t have rust and dust/sun damaged interior when you brought it in, guaranteed it will by the time you get it back. Months later. They added a roll cage too short and new seat bracket system. I’m only 5’8” yet my head sticks out the roof 5” so the bikini top they installed rides on my dang head. Feels like a hundred pound weight driving down the freeway. As the “Jeep experts” seems like they would know proper heights so your forehead doesn’t ride 5” above tour windshield! Again I am only 5’8”. Not like I’m a giant. They were supposed to install a new windshield and glass. However, unlike what they said they would do, ie test all the parts for fit then send out the frame for painting and work, they sent everything out for paint n prep then found the glass and frame didn’t work. They installed a defective windshield frame onto the Jeep that will never fit new glass w/o customization. But it couldn’t be returned to the manufacturer because they had it painted and installed before they realized they screwed up, on my dime! Upon picking up the Jeep w partly installed glass, they told me it was only safe to drive it for a few weeks it will need to be custom cut. When I told them they need to install it correctly, fully so it is safe, they then said, glass is fine it could just fit better. What the heck? The glass place I took it to said it was not safe at all, S&H lied to me, and I was lucky it didn’t shatter on me driving on the freeway. The glass place had to cut an all new windshield. They completely mucked up a new seat install. It is installed 6” too high. They were told to put in a factory style seat bracket or something close not install it so my head rides of the Jeep like Dino the dinosaur riding in the Flintstone car.Just steer clear these guys. It will be your worst nightmare having your vehicle held hostage months on end, yet when you pick it up 5 months later you find you have to have a lot of their work redone! Total bill $7,000 +. Cost of rework at another shop $1,500 or more. Waiting for the final bill at the new shop.Mechanic changed the oil but didn’t tighten the oil drain plug completely. Shop I took it to after said S&H completely inept or negligent.
2 thumbs down!! I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. Went a few years back and had great results with a couple toyota differentials. Took a transfer case in to have a simple input shaft changed and I was charged over $550!! Apparently they did not have the proper tool to press off a bearing.. so it took several extra hours to do the job at my expense. Never going back again
I cannot say enough about how great S&H 4 Wheel Drive is!! They helped us with granting a wish and went way above and beyond - the family was so thrilled. They did an absolutely amazing job with the whole project!
I have a 1996 Chevy K1500 not engaging 4wd. Every time I would shift the floor shifter to 4wd it would immediately blow the 4wd fuse. Brought my truck here because fixing this was beyond my capabilities. They said they cleaned the ground contacts and that the 4wd was then working. They charged me 2 hours of labor... TO CLEAN GROUND CONTACTS! When I got home, 4wd was still not engaging and still blowing the same fuse! Don’t go here. They’re clearly incompetent.
Good guys very helpful
Brought in my 2002 Jeep grand Cherokee with a growling differential. Took Don one hour to service it and now it’s smooth as silk. And it only cost me $125.
The Original 4 Wheel Drive Repair Center coming back to its roots, the Parts Store is Opening Soon!
They had alot of 4x4 goods
Fast service and a fair price. Highly recommend using these guys.
These guys are solid. Had an annoying squeak coming from the rear end of my 98 Silverado 4x4. Bryan diagnosed and fixed next day. Great shop.
My Jeep Wrangler rear differential was huming. Chris & Brian resolved the problem. It runs like new.I was searching for a 4 wheel drive service mechanic and now found one I can trust. The job is done RIGHT!THANK YOU S&H
I have heard nothing but excellent things about this place. So I will say I am disappointed that I was not able to even get a call back. I called 4 times in three weeks just to get an estimate for a 3 lift on my FJ Cruiser. Each time I spoke to Brian who said he would call me back the next day or by noon of the same day - but he never did. My advice would be to stay way from Brian who appears to be unprofessional and not willing to help out any new customers.I called 3 other shops in the area and all gave me estimates within 10 minutes.
Great shop! Called asking about the rear cover for a np205, and was asked if it was removed already, and to bring it in. Upon arrival, he was very busy, had a suburban and a jeep torn apart. Dropped what he was doing, went upstairs and dug into a box. Came back down, without even looking a second time at my old one and handed me a perfectly good one (used of course) and said Hows $20 sound? Great to me, thank you very much! And that was that. As for other reviews Ive read, if the u-joint is a 20 min job then do it yourself, all you need is a bench vise and sockets. The FJC lift? Go across the freeway and go to 4WP on El Camino, theyll gladly take your money, whereas S&H isnt too worried about a job like that (IMO). Early American vehicles are their specialty, although they work on all makes and models, there was probably an issue with something and they didnt want to bother. Fwiw, a 3 kit on an FJC takes about 2-1/2hrs with basic hand tools and a floor jack, DIY! If youre looking for a solid shop, they are it. If youre nearby, stop and introduce yourself and what you need/want to do so they can put a name and face/rig together. Guess the millenials dont understand how old school shops work? 😂😂😂
Very knowledgeable and friendly. This is the place for 4x4.
Tried to call on the phone with no answer. I had broken my transfer case and he wouldnt take it because they were busy. Had to have it towed somewhere else. Not in a good area either.
Excellent service on my vehicles
Called to have a price of a u joint change. For a twenty min job without turning a single bolt they wanted over 100 dollars. Waste of time and money.
Very knowledgeable
