My experience at Pearl Performance Engines was worst service I have ever dealt with. I was told that my block, crank, and head would be completed in 3 weeks........over 3 months later it was finally done.During this time the communication was terrible. I tried calling several times but the phone wasnt answered so I left voice mails. Never got any responses so I go there and was told to just leave a vm and he always called back. I was also told he needed a little more time. Ok, so its well past the 3 weeks now so I call and leave another vm, days later and no response. I decided from now on I will just drive there instead of calling which unfortunately turned out to be at least 12 to 15+ times. I was told over and over and over that it would be done next week or in a few days and toward the end it was always tomorrow.I went to pick up everything and the main caps were missing which I questioned and he told me I never gave it to them. I doubted that but it had been so long I wasnt positive so I went home and checked and didnt have them. I called and he actually answered the phone this time and told me that he found them so I drove back once again. Another issue I had, and had to go back again was they forgot to do my rods, so I left them and yep, they werent done the next day either like I was told. Initially when I asked about the rods I was told I never gave them to them just as he said with the caps. When I paid for everything he made sure to tell me that he extracted a broken bolt for free. Im pretty sure there were no broken bolts but thanks. I guess that made up for the bent stud he sent me home with that I had to special order.Calvin just seemed like he didnt care and was uninterested, and was never apologetic whatsoever, it was just nothing but excuses. This was a total nightmare that cost me a substantial amount of time and money on wasted trips only to be disappointed over and over.If you made it all the way down here to the end of this hopefully you will decide to make a better decision than I did. If you do still decide to do business at Pearl GOOD LUCK!Response to owner:Yes the MG. I was told 3 weeks and it was probably closer to 15 weeks so lets just say you did zero work for 5 weeks while moving, then you still had an extra 7 weeks on top of the 3 you originally told me. But the review is not just about the extra time......its how it was all handled.

Reliable auto shop with very fair prices! My first stop in Sacramento if I need any machining on the engine block or other components.

Had engine rebuilt. Had to wait over 5 weeks to get my engine back. Had many trips back due to wrong oil pump, wrong timing shims, and after 4,000 miles on new engine I have noticed a lower end knock. Now I have to pull engine back out to have them check that issue. More gaskets to buy
