Gresham ReplyAs a WARNING to anyone who is interested in the GM Mobility Reimbursement Rebate. Until this year GM was more flexible in their rebate program, this changed, and currently an NMEDA business is a requirement of the Rebate program. In addition, also not previously required is a letter of approval from your lease holder if you are installing any mobility device on a leased vehicle. Make sure you go to the NMEDA web site and download the application from 2018 – 2020.The biggest problems I had with Gresham was that Craig in the Wixom Office kept, for over two weeks, insisting that Gresham is an NMEDA member. I found this to be untrue. Also, Greg (Saginaw office) took a deposit that took over two weeks to refund knowing they were and are not an NMEDA dealer. I thought I would have to go to court to receive this refund. I can work with people thru issues, however, when people deny the truth, I then stay clear of business dealings with these individuals and the company they work for. I again suggest Creative Mobility in Madison Heights, who needed no deposit, are an NMEDA dealer and were great to work with.In early February, I called Mobility Works in Saginaw and talked rather briefly with a representative named Dale regarding hand controls and the GM Mobility reimbursement program. Dale was very rude, condescending and argumentative. I was informed incorrectly by Dale at Mobility Works that a business does not have to be a NMEDA, (National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association) member which was and is in-correct information. To attain the GM Mobility Reimbursement, you have to be an MNEDA member. I did not work further with this person nor this company and have no regrets that I did not.My wife and I, then contacted Gresham Driving Aids across town and after placing a $650.00 deposit for the installation of hand controls, discovered that we had to work with a NMEDA dealer which Gresham is not. GM Mobility has tightened their reimbursement requirements recently. I had a great amount of difficulty in receiving my deposit from Gresham. I really regret that our paths crossed, I do not recommend either of these companies. We ended up at Creative Mobility in Madison Heights and the drive was worth making (We live outside of Port Huron). From initial contact until driving home with the hand controls professionally installed this is the company my wife and I recommend. We were never provided incorrect information, did not have to place a deposit which I had a very difficult time recovering from Gresham, (took over two weeks to receive a visa credit with numerous emails and telephone calls that were ignored until court action was threatened), or simply being given incorrect information.Creative Mobility treated us with respect and were very hospitable. Margo (Mobility Consultant), Larry (installation tech) and Jean (receptionist, administrative assistant) were 100% professional and caring in the work they do individually and as a team. The foresight and knowledge that each individual brought forth provided the best alternatives for installing the hand controls to best fit our car and my wife’s preferences. Special care was taken to ensure that we would not have a problem turning in our leased vehicle if we decide to after our three year lease is up. Creative both installs and will uninstall our controls if we do turn in our leased vehicle. My wife and I are very pleased to have met and worked with Creative Mobility especially Margo, Jean and Larry whom we worked with directly.
