The sales team were great, we were allowed to test drive 2 vehicles, all by ourselves? Which gave us a chance to get a sandwich, and not be hungry or cranky during the deal making process. When we returned, we were greeted again, and they already knew what they could offer on that particular vehicle. We pick a car that is a used but in great condition. We even got a copy on the carfax, low mileage, no wrecks, and we can afford the payments. These gentle man made the experience a good and easy. We were in and out in one afternoon and driving an awesome, fun car. Thats a win, win for all....If youre in the market to buy a car, go to Cardinale, its a great place and my experience was the best its ever been.... Sincerely.

I normally take my Jetta to an independent shop for regular service because they are less expensive, but after showing up on time and waiting for several hours in the waiting room at my regular place while my car was sitting untouched, I called Cardinale VW and was able to get an appointment the same day and the service was completed on time. I will definitely be back for my next service.

We had a wonderful experience purchasing our used 2012 toyota tundra! Our saleman Steve S. went above and beyond helping us purchase our used (new to us) vehicle. He assisted us in every way possible purchasing this vehicle considering the situation we had to work with. We didnt feel pressured in testing out vehicles that didnt suite our needs and wants. Neither were we coerced into purchasing extra services or items that we didnt need. Steve was very respectful understanding what we needed. He even took the extra step making sure the car was running fine ever after a few days of our purchase to ensure we were truly happy with our purchase. My father is beyond happy with his truck and we ended up leaving the dealership with more than we had expected! I plan on purchasing my next vehicle here again not only for the welcoming environment and excellent services they had to offer, but because the whole experience was smooth and efficient I wouldnt have had it any other way!
Just had my first service at this dealership because Seaside VW was the worst service ever so decided to try Cardinale and I’m so glad I did it, everything was great, Marlene was outstanding and took great care of me and my car. Great service and support from her and all the staff. They truly care about making their customers feel good and leave with a great experience. The price was good too and not overpriced compared with Seaside so I’m definitely coming back here.

I found myself traveling from Washington state to California. Realized I needed an oil change so I scheduled an appointment for one. Showed up about 20 min before figured I would check in. There ware 3 walk in customers for an oil change also, but I wasn’t worried cause I scheduled an appointment so I’d be done faster right? Nope. After 10 min the lady finally asks, “what do you need?” I said “I’m here for an appointment for an oil change.” She said yeah that’s gonna be 3-4 hours... what? Why? I made an appointment, but she didn’t care. This place has horrible customer service. I felt like they didn’t care if I made an appointment the walk ins were here first so it’d be a while till my car was done. I hope they fix this issue because a place with no customer service skills will crash and burn. honor appointments and ultimately at least act like you care. Get another job if you’re only there for a check
My husband and I worked with Zach and Chris on this spur of the moment car purchase. After years of hating my daily driver and in need of something bigger, I contacted Cardinale to take a look at some vehicles that would better serve my needs and the needs of my family. They were able to answer all my questions and find a vehicle that would fit my budget. They went over and beyond any dealership I have ever been to and because of their continued service we are now a two Mazda home and will continue all of our auto and service needs at this dealership.

Services were friendly other than the 35 minutes we sat alone at a desk in the corner. I assume they were trying to get me approved one way or another which I appreciate. The entire process of buying my new Santa Fe completely met and exceeded my expectations. Starting with the sales consultant LaVelle Wilson through to finance director Samir Roufaeil. This is my 6th Hyundai purchased and the experience at Cardinaleway Hyundai was superior to any of the previous dealerships I have purchased from. I have nothing good to say about my car buying experience outside of the salesman (Jarrett) who I worked with. Three managers offered conflicting information during the three days I spent over Memorial Day weekend trying to buy a car. I was treated by the managers as though I werent smart enough to figure out what they were doing. And I felt like if I were a man they would have treated me very differently. At one point, after spending hours and hours in the showroom trying to work a deal, we finally agreed upon an offer and I was told I could come back the next day and do the paperwork. Instead, one of the managers called me Memorial Day evening while I was in a grocery store shopping for dinner for my son and told me that if I didnt come in that night then the deal was off. I felt so pressured and harassed since we had already agreed I would come in the next day. In addition, I never met the general manager, Donny Mortier, and was told he would call me immediately after my purchase to check in and hear about my grievances. Not only did Donny never call, but he ignored my numerous attempts to contact him. After I filed a complaint with Mazda corporate, he said he refused to contact me at all. I had never owned a Mazda before and could have used some further help once I left the lot after buying the car. But I was completely ignored. Im assuming that this is how Mazda treats women during the car-buying experience because I am confident that had I been a man I would never have been treated with such disrespect. Because of this experience, I will never buy a Mazda again.

I normally dont write reviews, but after we bought our recent vehicle at Cardinale Volkswagen, I decided to break the silence and describe my experience.My wife was trying to decide on a new beetle and went in to take a look at the selection and a test drive. Robert met her was courteous and kind, and did everything to try to meet her needs without trying to push too hard. That was important.Later on when we were ready to purchase, my wife and I both went in and we were helped by Rodney. Rodney was a very straight shooting guy, very courteous, but also very helpful and direct. There was no time wasted haggling over small issues, and he was able to help us with everything that we needed. When he didnt find a beetle in the lot, he helped search the other nearby dealerships to help get the perfect car for my wife. In all, this was about the smoothest and least-hassle car purchase that I ever experienced.Anyways, Rodney and the rest of the Cardinale team went beyond my expectations and really did a great job with service and working with the customer. I highly recommend Cardinale in Salinas, and in the future I will be back for my next vehicle as well.
Purchased two cars. Both needed repairs. One pulls off to the side due to a “bent car part” which they say they don’t see. The other ended with a loose transmission bolt which leaked the entire oil transmission luckily they car didn’t need a new transmission. In the beginning of purchasing the car, the had the incorrect addresses. They send my plates and sticker to another address. It is just a hassle dealing with people here. Yeah the staff are somewhat friendly but can better. Never again would I purchase a car here or recommend anyone to buy.
Rick and Joe were great. I really only came in to view payments and Rick and Joe sold me. Very nice experience and not to mention Shinji. He assisted with finance and was very quick and honest.

Double check any maintenance work they SAY they completed. They will rip you off in a heartbeat! Also make sure everything they agree to changing is on written paperwork they tend to give you the run around
What an enjoyable car shopping experience! All around great team and Tyson is the man to see if you are in the market for a car. He made it happen, was courteous, considerate, and so helpful. We went and got a starbucks coffee while we waited, and as the time drew longer, he asked if we were hungry and went out and bought us burgers! The whole team cheers as you ring the bell upon purchase right there on the dealership floor. Its a celebration there, and everyone came up and congratulated us on our purchase. I had previous great experience with the sales department and when it came time to renew my lease I turned to this dealership once again. Huge mistake! They misrepresented the cost of returning the vehicle and made promises that they did not even try to keep. Awful experience overall that left me feeling duped and not valued as a loyal VW customer for decades.
Brought vehicle in for first scheduled 10k mile service, which is essentially an oil change and tire rotation. Had an appointment at 1000, arrived at 0950. Car wasnt ready until approx 1210. It shouldnt take 2hr20min for an oil change and tire rotation when you have an appointment. To top it off, my car was driven up by a mechanic who suffered from extreme body odor--a scent which doesnt seem to air-out very well. I am not going back to this dealership.
Worst place to buy a car. I bought a Passat around 1 month ago and the check light turns a lot. I spend a lot of time and gas taking the car to service so they can fix (Ill say, just delete the code and light) the car. I wouldnt recommend it at all

SERVICE DEPARTMENT is another story, don’t take you vehicle here, avoid this unprofessional people.I had an oil service done here, weeks later notice bottom cover were missing on my vehicle. I called and try to get assistance with this matter with the service department no answered or called me back. I had to contact my sales person to get ahold of the service manager because she was MIA!!Please avoid this service department the people that are here don’t care or know how to be professional or useful to get your the proper service assistance your vehicle needs. This department has Horrible customer service, unprofessional, disrespectful! Take your business somewhere else!

-----NEW UPDATE BELOW---(I POSTED ON YELP TOO!)I bought a used 2015 vehicle. They didnt have the car so they transferred it here at this dealer. Bad part was that the car arrived at night and my dumb self decided to buy it, while only taking a quick glance looking for any major damage. With dim lighting all cars pretty much look okay.Before transferring the car, they told me that they were going to change a tire because it was almost worn out (the guy who told me that was Jesus Ramos sales director), which never happened and today Im arguing with them about it but the usual, they tell you that they never promised me that and that they are going to make their mechanics check the tire to see if its still safe to drive with it and if not they will probably change it because the guy (Irvin Arrieta) who sold the car to me told me, that neither him or I are experts on tires. Well apparently the mechanic is a service secretary with a tire tread depth tool, and the best answer was... the tire is okay. We then notice a slight bump on the tire and she said she was going to let someone know and she never came out again and only the guy who sold us the car came out and said we cant change the tire. I told what the lady said and he told me that she never mentioned anything to himBack to not checking the car thoroughly the next day after purchasing I notice that a small piece on the handle was missing; where the key is place to open the driver door. I let them know quickly but they save their asses by always saying that the car was sold as is and they cant do anything about it but now because he cant change the tire, he told me that they were going to try and get the missing piece and that theyll let me know when itll arrive.I shouldve trusted all these reviews before buying here. So PLEASE if u are thinking of buying here READ ALL REVIEWS ON YELP AND GOOGLE and make your decision.------------------------------So an hour after posting this review Jesus Ramos the sales director called one of my parents (I am 20 years old and they have my phone number so no idea why they called my parent) to express his feeling towards the review. He mentioned that this review was inappropriate and that it was bringing their reputation down; well then have good customer service and dont call us just about an online post. He even threaten by stating that he would write a bad review about me on my OWN job profile. So clearly our private information is not safe with them *KEEP IN MIND THAT I CAN SUE FOR MISUSE OF MY INFORMATION AND MAY COMPLAIN TO BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!!* My parent also mentioned that Jesus called not only about the review but also talked about the missing piece that the car needs, but sounded as if he no longer wanted to give it to us...which is no problem I will no longer do business with Cardinale Volkswagen!!

I purchased my VW from Cardinale and have had it serviced at all regular service intervals. I have experienced a chronic air leak in one of my tires that they were unable to identify for four years and during five regular services. They finally just gave up, the warranty expired and they had no solution. We brought the vehicle to another dealership and they found the problem immediately. It was a small nail and I could see the leak when the mechanic put water on it. Problem solved. Cardinale could not even perform a simple test that everyone is taught in Auto Mechanics 101. Additionally, on one of my services they failed to add 2 1/2 quarts of oil which caused the oil light to light up. When they were told this I didnt even get an apology. This Dealership would not answer my letter asking for warranty service with the tire problem. Not even a call back. Virtually every service has underperformed and revealed their incompetence and lack of quality control. I will never get my car serviced here again.
Steve has been the best sales person we have ever had the opertunity to deal with of all the vehicles we have ever purchased. He was knowledge, patient and friendly. More sales people can learn from him.

This was the most unusual visit to a car dealer ever. As I tried to enter the showroom, I held the door so two employees could casually leave. One said thank you and the other did not acknowledge me. I wandered around the showroom for about 10 minutes investigating each of the three cars that were located there. During this time I was ignored by every employee. A few of them looked at me and turned away and others just typed on their computers. When I tried to leave, I had to wait for one of the employees to finish talking to his friend as they were blocking the doorway. Im guessing they have so many cars on their lot because they dont take time to approach customers to sell anything. Maybe it was just an off day.

Yesterday my boyfriend and I walked into Volkswagon in Salinas to see if the warranty for our intake manifold was applied to my car. The lady in the back was very rude and seemed like she didn’t want us there or have our car taken there. She was trying to take our information and trying to make it seem like the warranty didn’t work under our certain specifications but it did. We are very scared that we shouldn’t take it here for the fact of the matter as she didn’t seem like she wanted us there and also that she made it seem like my car wouldn’t be taken care of. Like it was a burden for her to schedule us an appointment. Hopefully the service team will be a bit different, but we think we are going to another dealership for this job.
