Salinas manager Monica is a deceitful liar and does not own up to her wrong doings. I have been trying to get a technician job at this location on and off for over a year and she’d never call me back. I had moved on until I received a call from the recruiter, I figured I’d give it a chance so I scheduled an interview.When I came in for the interview Monica had no idea there was an interview scheduled or who I was at all, and she interviewed me standing at the front desk while customers waited behind me. She said I was on board and she would be taking the next steps to get me hired, we spoke about a start date, the uniform policy, the pay rate, the hours, when I’d be putting in my two weeks in at my current job, company paid schooling, etc. We were just waiting on the recruiter to send me the hiring paperwork, but it was taking a while. I called Monica a week after I hadn’t received anything, she said she’d contact the recruiter again. She also informed me that she was hiring 2 additional people along with me and wasn’t experiencing any problems with them so she wasn’t sure what was taking so long with me. I contacted Monica in person and over the phone on over 10 more separate occasions over the course of these last 4 weeks. Each time she said she’d contact the recruiter again to send the paperwork to get me started. The last time I came in the store was last week and she said she would contact corporate since she still wasn’t hearing anything from the recruiter.Monica said she didn’t have a number for the recruiter and refused to give me their email, so I had to call around and get their number and email myself. When I called them they informed me that not only did Monica NOT contact them, they did not have any record of my application at all. I thought that makes no sense, how could the recruiter contact me if there’s no application? So I attempted to apply to the most recent position available just to see. Of course the website would not allow me to do so because it said I cannot apply for the same position twice. So clearly my application was in the system at some point and Monica deleted it behind my back.I applied for the Watsonville location just to get my name back in the system and I was called by the recruiters the next day and told them what went on. They were on board with getting me started here at Salinas, they just had to transfer my application to this store. They called Monica to get the ball rolling but instead she graciously informed them that she was “no longer considering me for the position.” She said that she went ahead with the 2 other people she was hiring over me. I told the recruiter that those 2 guys were being hired with me, not instead of me, but there was nothing they could do about her lying to me or deleting my application. I called Monica at the store immediately after and she denied everything, she said, “I never said you were hired, sorry you were misinformed.”Does this sound like a person that would give you an honest quote or estimate on your vehicle? No. I would NEVER take any vehicle I intend to keep running to get work done at the Salinas Firestone based on how the manager treats potential employees. Imagine the lies she feeds to the customers.
The team was friendly, welcoming and answered my concerns. I thought it was cool that the person that worked on my vehicle used a shop tool to explain what the padding on my brakes looked like.
Went in wanting a headlight changed, without an appointment. Service manager asked to see under the hood to determine how involved it would be- (Hyundai Veloster) he then stepped away, came back with a couple tools and was able to remove the bulb without removing the bumper (as recommended) To top that off, I was charged for the light bulb only. Thank you for your time and great customer service!
Got my oil change and it was much cheaper than the car dealership by like $25.

Would give this place a ZERO star. This place was the worst experience ever. I called to order tires, they set an appointment to install the tires. I called the day of just to confirm, due to the fact that I would need to take the day off work, which with covid thats something i cannot afford to do. When i called them the day of, they then informed me that the tires had not arrived. The manager Jorge then proceeded to say well we dont have them, when they come in ill let you know and you can decide if you still want them or not!!. We understand the fact that a lot of business are short staffed at the moment so we gave this place the benefit of the doubt, because he could have easily taken our business elsewhere. When we finally got the call Kevin said it would take 2 hours. We observed the technician literally throw our old tires into the trunk without even looking if we had anything in there. We let Kevin know and all he had to say he is doing the best he can. I will be taking my vehicle for a service check after our visit here, thats how much i distrust all their work ethic here in Salinas Ca. So many people have lost their job and these young kids cant appreciate the fact that they even have a job....worst tire experience ever.Never again will i ever step foot in that place again.
We called and made an appointment to have the battery replaced. I called again also to have the headlight bulbs replaced. We were given an appointment Friday. My husband drives there, about 30 miles, only to find out they dont have the battery and it would take them 1.5 hours+/~ to replace the bulbs. Why in the world would they not even bother to give us a courtesy call!!! If I could give them a negative star I would.

Too Expensive, Declined, Charged me anyway.I had an appointment to get my brakes checked. They called back after the 9.99 inspection to tell me they want 1200$ for brakes and fluid top offs. I said maybe but immediately called back to decline and I have the phone logs to prove it.The guy put me on hold for a full 5 minutes then said that they had already started and that it would cost the full hour.159$ for three minutes of work I never really approved. Unreal.

Great service saved our vacation
I had a flat tire and had an urgency to get it fixed to drive 100+ miles away. It was 30 min. To closing and they had a full schedule but KC went over his call of duty and was able to fix my tire so I could drive to work. They are GREAT by going over and beyond even after hours! Thank you KC for your kind consideration! I highly recommend them.

The Salinas Firestone does not honor Lifetime Alignment. After taking my money for the Lifetime Alignment they gladly aligned my truck but have refused ever since.

I made an appointment on line to have my power steering fluid changed. When I arrived there was no one at the check in desk. For at least 17 minutes I and two others waited in line. When it was my turn I gave my appointment print out to the clerk. He said We dont even do this here. And directed me to All Tune down the street.
My Girlfriend works in Salinas and my Dad owned a repair shop in Livermore Ca. I can say more than once I have checked to see if it would be a better deal to bring it to my Dads shop and get it fixed at cost and almost every time it is extremely reasonable price to have someone else do it and get it done. 1 time it was not but that was a massive repair and they actually did not even offer the repair because it was such a big job lol so in fairness yes they have a profit margin but I can say for certainty they are not huge margins and they are not ripping people off. I have checked about 3 times myself on wheel bearings, break pads, maintenance services etc and each time their prices were very, very reasonable.

Went in with a 1973 Chevy C10 that probably hadnt had an alignment in a decade. Put on new tires and asked them to do an alignment. I watched the entire process. It was no simple task. It took several attempts to get it dialed in right. Service personnel had great attitudes, very friendly. I will take right over fast, all week long. Especially given that my son and I drive old metal. Definitely going back.

They have a great deal, for only one payment of 199 you get unlimited alignments for the life of the car... sounds too good to be true? It is, at least for those who dont want a damaged vehicle in return. I brought my car in and was told it would take anywhere from 3-4 hours. When I leave I get a call just 1 hour later saying my car is ready. I thought this was weird because of how busy they said they were that afternoon. The next day I wake up and see paint chipping of the passenger side fender and a bend on the driver side fender. When I go back to tell them about the damage they refuse to accept responsibility. Even after watching the low quality surveillance footage, and seeing that the alignment tool they used directly lined up with the damage they still refused to acknowledge the fact that their worker could have damaged my fenders. After all was said and done I didnt even get a refund for the alignment. Save your money and go literally anywhere else.

Very minor upselling (gotta survive as a business), but overall, pretty honest when it comes to their free vehicle inspection.I didnt have any work done here, only free brake inspection.Cant speak for mechanical skills.
Had a urgent tire situation on a weekend and the stuff especially Monika was amazing! She went out of her way and even checked the tire i was looking for at other shops for me! as they didnt have the exact tire i was looking for. I didnt see someone who cares about their job this much for a while! Then she found alternative tire in their store and saved my day! They stayed longer than their closing time just to get me going. We had 4 new tires put on the car on Memorial Day weekend last year (Sat) - while it took a long time, it was a job well done. The owner and crew were courteous and professional.
Very dissatisfied. Was told it would take all day to mount and balance a single tire and rim. I guess a ten minute job isnt worth it to them, fortunately there are plenty of independent places I can go to tomorrow

Every time I’ve been in this place I’ve had nothing but great help I went their initially with my wife and we purchased 4 firestone tires for her R/T Charger that was getting due for new tires. I was very impressed with how polite and fast the staff is. So much that I talked to my company about switching our oil change and vehicle fleet maintenance to firestone instead of the shop we were using before because of how fast and efficient firestone Salinas is. After we switched I took my personal Ram 2500 in to get all four tires changed to firestone MT/2 tires and they are amazing! I have highly recommend firestone Salinas to all my family and friends for their vehicles needs. Kevin was the service writer that gave me quotes and worked with me and my families schedules to get our vehicles up and running as soon as possible. Big thanks to Kevin and the Technicians that make a great service team.
I stopped by Firestone in Salinas this weekend and had a great experience! Jamie and the crew were super helpful and professional even while they were super busy. They were able to solve a problem that another shop couldnt find and now Im back on the road up to Alaska. Thanks guys, cant recommend them enough!

These people aren’t real mechanic. Just people who went to school and were forced to do stuff lol I can not believe what they did to my truck ! They couldn’t figure out how the suspension works and what to do. Took it for an alignment I got it back exactly the same because one idiot worker there said he was not goin to touch my torsion bars ?🤣 witch is part of my susoension cmon. These place needs professionals not lil kids playin mind game ! Anyways theyr pricy and usually want to charge u for stuff u ain’t need in ur car funny people don’t recommend this place to anyone at all sorry but not the first time or first customer in my family tha has problems goin here. Been here for 5 hours for a set of tires and new brake pads on my rear rotars. By any industry standards rediculous. Easily distracted staff in the garage who do not prioritize properly.

Dont go here, make the trip out to Watsonville branch instead. Been going to Firestone for years and this is the first branch to ever fail me on anything. They would have had my car out of commission for 2 weeks, called Watsonville branch and they fixed the exact same problem within 24 hours. Smh
My experience in the begining was outstanding but whent down hill real quick as I have noticed numerous things that I am not verry happy about, like my air filter box not being closed without closing any of the security lock pins and the Air filter was smashed, my battery post debree shoe cover not to sure its called that but close enough, was damaged, and my vehicles rpms accelerates a bit when going on 2nd gear right after picking it up from their shop one day. Then I took it in for a noice problem, the noice when away but soon came back. I lost trust on their mechanics for not doing good work.
