I love to support local, but you still need quality and value, right? I have been a trumpet player for 45 years and Wise Music reminds me of the shop that got me started. If they dont have it, they can get it. Usually, the price meets what I can get on Amazon - and sometimes its better. When its more -its a negligible amount. I recently needed a couple gig supplies, and the price I got was about 15% less than what Id have spent on Amazon. Plus - you have local support when you need it. this business love music and musicians. Support local!

I recently broke my classical guitar and I needed it to be fix. They fixed it for a good price. I also went there to get a new acoustic/electric guitar and they were really helpful and nice. Excellent customer service 10/10. Highly recommended.

What else can be said about Wise Music?Theyve been around since the early to mid 90s and the shop still doesnt feel outdated like some end up becoming.Great customer service, great inventory, and repairs by Frank are by far the best you can get!Pete, Charles, and Jerry are always as nice and knowledgeable as you would expect from a great musical instrument shop.Plus, you can special order pretty much anything! This place has great customer service. Went in to look for a microphone wire and the young man that sold me the microphone wire didnt realize hes going to be the wrong one. I went back a few days later have the owner found the right one but it was higher price than the original. If there were no others in the size I wanted so he just gave it to me at the same price.

I purchased a guitar advertised on Facebook as a 1/2 size. When I picked it up and brought it home, an hour later, one of the guitar strings broke as we were tuning it. I called Wise Music, highly recommended by our school’s music teacher. The associate said to bring our guitar down and they would get us where we needed to be.It turned out the guitar I purchased off of Facebook was a full size. While the associate was restringing the guitar, we took a look around and spoke to another associate about their great stock of guitars. He was so helpful with size, quality and gave such amazing customer service that I purchased a second guitar (a 1/2 size.) After purchasing, the owner was gracious and was very appreciative of our business.Now we have two Cordoba guitars - one to use now and one to grow into.We are now looking for a violin. Guess where I will be going? Super happy we found Wise Music! If I could give them 10 stars, I would.

Wise music continues to be our go to music store. Our daughter took lessons there in the past and had a wonderful learning experience with their instructors. They are very knowledgeable and helpful and take their time when assisting customers. My daughter had to change the strings on her electric guitar and for a small fee, they taught her step by step how to do it. They were very patient and helpful with her.

Time and time again I have found myself to be very impressed and satisfied with the help from the staff and good ol Pete and his wonderful wife who is very supportive and cheerful when interacting with customers. I remember the first time I entered wise music when I was 12. My dad took me and he had been shopping there for years. This was the old location on Monterey street. When I walked into the building to me it looked like the Namm show. I made small purchases at the time and years later I realized this store is the real deal and every musician I knew,personally shopped here. I always told Pete that one day when I have enough money, I would buy one of his more expensive amplifiers and he was always kind.Imagine those words coming from a kid Im 31 now and happy to say this November I finally purchased that big amplifier it was a peavey head. Great local store with a large inventory of new and used gear! They have fantastic opportunities for kids to learn music and many affordable instruments for them. Their staff will work with you to find the right instrument to fit your budget. It can be a quite hard finding new gear from some of the name brands though. They have a large inventory of used gear though and often you can find a real gem for a great price. Unfortunately, there is still a lot of outdated gear so it can make the store appear a little cluttered with stuff that will probably never be used again. It would be nice to see all that stuff gone and get updated gear in stock. Understandably, inventory is very expensive and if not enough local people shop there then it is tough to keep the store stocked with gear. So go in there and support your local music shop!

Ive been playing music seriously now for about four years, and have been playing with my current band for about half that time. In my time as a musician Ive made my way to Guitar Center and various other second hand stores and pawn shops. However, I can say without a doubt, that Wise Music is the best place to go for your gear and service needs here on the Monterey Peninsula.Not only do they have a great selection of instruments, but they have a variety of price ranges and performance level products that can suit any musician at any level, and at any price point. This ranges from a beginners first Ibanez PJ bass, all the way to professional-grade Fenders and Gibsons. They also sport a variety of horns, folk instruments, drums, and other instruments that you cant easily get at larger corporatized music stores. (They also redid their interiors layout since I last went in, and it was quite a treat to see a greater level of consistence in product placement)Finally, I would like to say that the staff at Wise are all knowledgeable and down-to-earth, something that is lacking in most chain music stores!I highly recommend Wise Music to all musicians here on the peninsula. It isnt common to have such a great resource that is easy to access, and doesnt give a gut punch straight to your wallet!
