My alternator went out on my bus, and we were stranded on the side of the road. The bus has a gigantic old Leece Neville Alternator that goes on a T444E International Diesel Engine from 1997. I have replaced alternators before. No big deal, but when I headed to the parts store to try and find a replacement... Nobody had one of these! Napa said they hoped they could order one but they didnt think they would be able to get it for a few weeks, or for less than $850!!! I was in a bad way! I needed to get on the road as quickly as possible... Enter Laverl from Snap Rebuilders in Salt Lake City. I called and asked if they could rebuild an alternator that nobody else could find to sell me, and he said they could have it turned around in a day! Sure enough, I went in and dropped it off, explained my situation, and 8 hours later I had this beautifully transformed, fully functional alternator for a fraction of the price the parts stores were going to charge for a new one! I couldnt be happier. Take your business to Laverl at Snap Rebuilders with confidence. He wont let you down! I mean, just look at the before and after pictures. Phenomenal work!

It pains me to leave a negative review for this business since I am a business owner as well. I do not do so impulsively or without understanding what ramifications a negative online presence may have. Unfortunately, here I have no choice. My experience with SNAP Rebuilders, and Terry in particular, has been nothing but negative. I purchased a starter for a 394 Oldsmobile off of his eBay page for my 61 Super 88, which his page specifically stated it would fit. I soon received my starter, and to give credit where due, it appeared to be a nice unit. Thats about where the good ends. While the starter did bolt to the Oldsmobile flywheel cover, the depth of the starter drive on the new starter was about 1/4 - 3/8 inch longer than the factory starter. So the first time I hit the key, the engine fired, and kept the drive in the spinning flywheel, which obliterated the brand new starter and destroyed the teeth on the flywheel. The damage was so extensive I had to pull the transmission to replace the flywheel, and then order the appropriate starter from Ross Racing, which came at significant expense of both money and my labor. When I contacted Terry at SNAP to tell him what happened, he was very apologetic, and while he would not refund my money for selling me a starter he advertised to fit my application, but which did not, he did offer to rebuild the destroyed starter and send it back to me with a proper shim (which probably should have been included the first time). I thought that was decent, thinking it wouldnt hurt to have a spare starter on hand, and mailed the starter back to SLC, Utah from NJ at my expense. Several months went by and I heard and received nothing back. I would call, get him on the phone, he would apologize and tell me hed get right on it. Then nothing. This pattern has continued every 3 months for the past year, with the same result of no starter sent back to me, nor a refund. The last time I spoke to him, about 3 weeks ago, he said he thought he had mailed the starter to me. I assured him he did not, and if he did I certainly didnt have it, nor was a tracking number sent to me. I also followed up with recent email that has gone unanswered. So now Im out the $225 for the initial purchase, the time and expense to replace the parts this incorrect starter destroyed, and then another $30 to ship the starter back to UT to compound the loss. The bottom line is that this vendor simply will not stand behind their product, they cannot be trusted, and their customer service is abysmal. If anyone is thinking about doing business with this company, consider yourself warned.

The starter solenoid on the generator on my semi was shot. I had almost no time to wait for a rebuild and a new one wasnt available. They had me all fixed up with a new solenoid in about an hour. And on a Saturday! I consider myself very lucky to have found Snap Rebuilders.

They told me my part would be repaired in 24 hours. Nearly one week later and theyre still working on it. Every time I call they push it out 1 more day. I have been without a car for way too long. This kind of dishonesty is unacceptable in todays fast moving world.

My Name is Lance I have a 1994 Toyota 4Runner. I have gone through 2 junkyard starters and 1 alternator. Both times Snap took a look at the starters and said they were fine and changed a couple clips. The alternator did have to be rebuilt but I love the price of these re-manufactured pieces. Alot cheaper than parts chains and with a lifetime warranty, who can complain about that? I will definitely be coming back here time and time again. Also recommending it to anyone I know.

Great place. Extremely honest and thats hard to find. I took my starter to get a rebuild. They could have charged me a lot and did unnecessary work. They took it apart and cleaned it up without a charge.

Had the starter die on our swather while in the hay field. After hours of hunting for a rebuild shop or replacement, we found Snap and called them. Then we drove three hours to get down to the shop. The rebuild was complete and very well done, and due to the nature of our situation, they were even willing to stay after on a Saturday to get us taken care of.Phenomenal service and totally saved our butts, since we would have been days out to get a rebuild shipped in. Instead we are already back up and running. We will definitely be returning for our other rebuild needs, and recommending them to everyone up here. The swather is a Gas powered 1979 International 5000 Windrower with an industrial version of the starter used instead of a standard automotive, so a hard beast to even find parts for, and they managed to nail it perfectly.
