I recently had KS Audio install an amp and two tens in my 2017 Honda Civic. I have been impressed with the results thus far! KS was very fairly priced, professional, personable and did a great job on the installation. I would highly recommend KS Audio to my friends and family and will use their services in the future.

Very disappointed in the quality of the work. I contacted KS Audio to install an auto start in my wife 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I selected them because of their good reviews. The job was supposed to take a few hours but they needed to keep the car overnight. They communicated with me during this process. I was disappointed but things happen. The next day when I picked it up, the airbag warning light came on immediately after starting. To make a long story short, they incorrectly wired the circuit and in doing so, disabled the airbag system. I contacted KS audio and they never responded to my text. While I understand that technical items happen, the item I am upset about is the failure to stand by their work. I instead needed to take my car to the Jeep dealer to have the KS Audio work repaired which was not covered by warranty because the problem, as identified in the error report, was the direct result of how they wired the remote start. All said and done, this cost me hundreds of dollars extra because of the work they performed. Had KS Audio stood by their work of the initial install and offered to correct the problem, I would have left a positive review but any company that fails to stand by their work is not a company I want to do business with. I believe the character of a business is the work they put in when there is a problem. KS Audio failed here by not respond to my messages when the system did not work and by not working to provide a solution. Just radio silence. There are plenty of other audio shops in SLC willing to accept business. Go to them.11/20/19 Update. Even though KS Audio said they stand by their work, KS Audio has failed to respond to the invoice from the dealer that shows they were the cause of the problem. Do not use this shop.

I scheduled this last minute and was happy that they could accommodate me. Owner and his colleague were professional and courteous. I had a couple speakers installed and I was pleased with the experience and results.

Kim showed up and helped me out big time. Thought I needed new speakers because one was rattling. He immediately identified the problem as pennies that had fallen into the door! I had him install the new speakers anyway because they were way better than the factory speakers and he did excellent work. He was honest and careful. He also helped me fix some interior lights that weren’t working... the previous owner had unplugged them for some reason. I didn’t even know you could do that. I had been pulling fuses and checking them for damage and he identified the problem and fixed it in seconds. You will not be disappointed with this man if you hire him.

Kim did a GREAT job on replacing the factory audio unit with a new Pioneer unit in my wifes car.He was quick, actually answered the phone and when we had a minor problem, had me bring the car back and it was corrected in 10 minutes.Price was fair and the service was exceptional!!!

Great customer Service, Kim does an outstanding job with helping to plan out the concept of what you want in your car; if it’s to replace the stereo/cd player that broke, the back up camera because the tint on the windows makes it impossible to see, adding in monitors and aftermarket stereo equipment for the kids on those long rides that sounds almost like ur in the theater, enhancing your lighting either on the road to see at night better or just because you would like some cool lighting effects in or outside of the car, to adding an alarm with multiple features to keep your investment safe.

I was a little hesitant at first because it was unlike dealing with a normal retail store but Kim (who operates out of the garage at his residence) certainly knows his business and is a person to be trusted. He installed a car stereo purchased off of Best Buy for a very reasonable charge even letting me know in advance what kit I needed to purchase on Amazon to fit my Toyota. During the installation he discovered that a part was missing out of the radio package and went out of his way to contact all parties involved to try to resolve the situation. Eventually he found the part for me to order on Amazon and which he later installed for free. A side note: he does sell new car audio components at reasonable prices which is the route I should have gone in the first place!

All my 16 year old wanted for Christmas this year was for her car stereo to work. We had tried to figure it out on our own without any luck. I was worried that we might have an expensive fix on our hands so I started early at trying to get someone to take a look at it. I had zero experience with car audio businesses in Salt Lake so I was quite worried that I would get over charged for the repairs. I did a basic internet search and called up KS audio. He got me in right away and within less than an hour, my daughters stereo was working and he also fixed her bad wiring to the battery for free. He only charged me $35 so I tipped him for the battery wire repair. He explained where the problem was and told me about his diagnostics on other issues the car was having. I had been wanting to upgrade the stereo in my car for a while. I checked out some local places and all of them charged ridiculous amounts. I contacted Kim and was very surprised to hear that he charged a fraction of the price for the install. He told me that he had the unit I needed available but did not push me to buy it through him. Because I found it cheaper elsewhere he was willing to charge me the same promised rate for the install. I figured it would be pretty complicated since the new unit had Bluetooth and video playback but he was done in just a few hours. Everything worked great and my phone connected very easily with the Bluetooth. In the end I would have paid almost twice as much going anywhere else. Great customer service, great work. I will definitely be using KS Audio in the future.

I needed to replace my factory stereo so I looked online to find a company close to where I live and KS Audio showed up with a 5 star rating, (this is very rare) so I read some of the reviews and was very impressed. So, I sent an e-mail on Sunday afternoon explaining what my current stereo was doing and I thought I would see a reply on Monday, but to my surprise Kim (owner) replied on Sunday, and he told me he is open Mon-Friday 9:00 to 5:00 and he would be a happy to take a look at my car anytime at no charge.I showed up on Monday morning around 10:00 am Kim greeted me with a smile and a handshake very professional. We listened to what my current stereo was doing and he stated that he does not do repairs but he could replace it, or I could take it to another shop and have it repaired, I tried the repaired route before so I chose to have it replaced. I picked out a stereo and he said it would take about an hour or so. He needed to go and get a few items from his distributor and I asked if there was a coffee shop or a shopping center close by (he works out of his home garage) and he said there is a Starbucks down the road and he even offered to take me there and pick me up when he was done. I now see why he has a five star rating, Kim really knows what customer service is and does an excellent job. I would highly recommend KS Audio. Awesome experience!!

I used KS Audio for two projects:The 1st project was new speakers. The installer was nearly TWO HOURS LATE.The 2nd project was swapping out amps. The installer DID NOT SHOW UP at all for the appointment. When I rescheduled the installer was 20 MINS LATE.When the speakers and amp were installed there was noticeable SOUND DISTORTION. I spent a couple of hours and learned about tuning amps. In the end I got the system to sound great!Overall, Kim (the owner) means well but the entire process was very frustrating. The upside is that the COST WAS LOWER than others. The total labor cost to have speakers and a new deck installed plus swapping out amps was $205 and this included a $40 travel charge.

This guy fried my computer system in my car and when i had the tow truck take my vehicle to the dealer my vehicle smelled like pot and alcohol the repairs were over 3500.00 and he would not cover any of his damage ....buyer beware he is not insured or bonded

Lack of store front and showroom might make you 2nd guess your choice but the quality is outstanding. Kim knows his craft and doesnt take short cuts. He did a great job installing seat heaters in the front seats of my FJ.

Working with Kim was an amazing experience. I went to him after I had an awful experience with someone else I hired to install my sub and amp, they ended up blowing up my fuses, cutting a wire and caused damage to my Mazda3 which affected the electrical system inside! :(I made an appointment with Kim and he made everything right. He was ready for me when I arrived to drop off my car, he listened to everything I had to say, and most importantly he installed my sub/amp correctly AND fixed the other stuff that was affected from the previous job. Kim was very honest with me, he was willing to diagnose and start over with the installation, and he fixed everything for me (including replacing fuses) at a VERY reasonable price.I realize he charged me only a fraction of the price I wouldve paid if I had gone to the dealer or some mechanic for the electrical part. My only regret is not going to KS Audio first. I recommend KS audio to everyone, I will come back for anything else I need.Thanks Kim!

Kim is great. He definitely is extremely knowledgable in car electronics. I installed fog lights on my 2006 accord and had everything installed expect the power to the lights. Since I was given terriblele directions by the manufacturer and not knowing car electronics very well I was stumped. I called Kim and a day later he had my lights up and working. He didnt even charge me to tap into the wires for the lights. Thank you. If I ever have a problem with anything electrical or need help I will come back.

Kim fixed the cd player on my 1995 Volvo. It was jammed and he pulled out the unit and got it unstuck in a matter of minutes. The price he charged was way better than all of the shops I called in the area. He also gave me a few options for the future when it will need to be replaced (It is my second one in the car, entropy eventually breaks them down lol!) for the way I would like it to operate. Again at an incredibly great price ! When it needs replaced I am definitely going to Kim since the price of a new unit that will operate my external hard drive containing all of my music, will be cheaper than buying from a junkyard the factory unit and having it installed . KS Audio is by far the best audio shop I have ever dealt with. Thanks Kim !!!!!!

I got a quote from other car audio stores in the valley and they were all double the price that Kim gave me for my new cd/dvd player. He installed a nice looking deck with two headrest monitors and it looks and works great.

KS Audio is by far the best. I totally recomend these guys. The price is right and the work is quality. I lost the keys to my car and remote. Kim Hertig was able to order me the same alarm system components and install them for me charging me an affordable price. The Dodge Dealership was going to charge me 3 times as much but thankfully KS Audio came to the rescue. I also dont drive my car much so the alarm tends to kill my battery and Kim was able to install a solar unit to my car to trigger energy to the battery so my alarm does not drain my battery every 2 weeks. He was able to identify the problem and fix my issue for a great price! Definetly the guys i reccomend and will always go to for any car related issue or installation!
