Google asked me to review Performance Audio, so I will. I buy a lot of audio odds and ends from these guys. They ALWAYS provide stellar service and great advice. On multiple occasions, Ive called trying to buy something to fix a problem, only to have them recommend a simple FREE solution I hadnt thought of. Makes it real easy to avoid Amazon etc...

Im not a musician. I went to a guitar shop to get something to plug my guitar into my pc with. They said go to performance audio. I went to another guitar shop instead, that was closer. THEY said go to performance audio. So, I went to performance audio. These folks were AWESOME. They gave super advice, recognized that I was a beginner and tried to offer inexpensive but functional solutions without prompting. Their store is great, too, and they clearly had stuff to deck out a music studio, as well as stuff to service a guy who needs something to plug my guitar into my pc with.

I ordered tweeters on the weekend and they were set to ship on Monday. I called the store Monday morning and Pam was very helpful. Needing the tweeters by Thursday she found the order and was able to ship them out priority before they left the store. They arrived Wednesday and now we have plenty of time to fix the speakers before the show. Thank you for being so on your game.

This place is the best for repairs. To start with, they were really busy, so rather than have me leave my equipment for weeks Kyle was great to give me a call when they were ready for me. Everything was done absolutely on schedule and, believe it or not, slightly under estimate! Kyle, the repair crew, the front desk are all the tops at their jobs. Highest reccomendations

This is a great place to get discrete audio parts and cable. All the Neurtrik and Rean connectors youll need and not very expensive either. You can also pick up online orders from the store for free. If only they would start selling more electronic components for us hobbyists.

Shout out to Performance Audio for tuning up my turntables this week. That was my second time bringing in my 20-year-old Technics SL-1200M3Ds for a tune-up at Performance Audio. They cleaned them, tuned my pitch-adjust sliders, lubricated the sliders and the counter balance, special ordered a tiny screw I was missing, and probably lots of other stuff I dont even know about. I recommend getting your turntables tuned up at Performance Audio.

I had the wrong type of cables pulled into the walls of my home theater room and was stuck. Darrin Porter resolved the issue and took considerable time by fitting special terminals to the cables and tested each terminal to make sure they were working. he found one that was not to his satisfaction so took even more time to remove and replace the terminal. then he only charged me for the terminals not anything for the considerable time he spent resolving my problems. Without his knowledge and experience I would not be able to have my sound system work. I would recommend this company to anyone. They go above and beyond with regards to customer service.

The staff was extremely professional and willing to help out. I called weeks before packing my equipment in for repair to ensure they could repair my equipment, which I was told they could. I showed up, packed in my equipment and was then informed they were unable to repair it so I had to go elsewhere. Out of the multiple times Ive been here, this has been the only hiccup Ive had. Id still recommend them for you pro audio needs.

As I try to avoid guitar center at all costs, performance audio has been crucial to getting all the cables I need. I think they are more geared up for larger, non-retail, type customers, but they have never blinked an eye when I come in looking for a five dollar cable. It’s great to have a local resource like this in SLC.

Holiday weekend before the 4th of July, I was just checking the website to see if I had time to bike down to the shop instead of drive and google suggested they might close early for the holiday. That had NOT occured to me.I called the shop. They were basically trying to close right then but offered to stay open so I could run down there (so I drove, obviously).They held the shop open just so I could run in and grab a 1/4 cord before the holiday weekend. It was above and beyond.But that kind of service and the exceptional quality and lifetime warranty on their cords is why I wait for Performance Audio to be open again. Took my CDJs in for repairs and through it takes a very long time to get to that point. They were super helpful. The only problem was when they said it was done. They actually didn’t fix all the problems it had so then I had to take it about for more repairs (at no cost) lengthy process but super nice people.

I have been purchasing and renting equipment from Performance Audio since 1989. Ill never forget the early days of renting to own the equipment. The owner Kevin who has since passed away set us up on a rent to own program that helped launch our DJ company. Terry, who still runs the rental department was always their to help load or unload the equipment on Mondays after each rental. Even to this day Terry takes great care of the equipment that they rent out. They always have great equipment to rent that looks and performs great for our needs.Over the years they have been great to work with and on too many occasions would go the extra mile to help us out in times of need. On one particular occasion Darrin waited after hours so we could pick up some equipment that we needed for a wedding at Red Butt Gardens that we were performing at. I have many great customer service stories with them and have truly enjoyed working with Performance Audio over the many years.Now that I have started a new company Im excited to be working with them even more as I purchase and upgrade equipment. They have been very helpful to answer all my questions and guide me to the right equipment needed to create my podcast.Its like walking into a candy store or going on vacation when you walk into the building. The folks there are very knowledgeable and, to make matters better, they are OK imparting their knowledge. They really have a team atmosphere. While spending time with one associate another overheard our conversation and took it upon himself to provide some documentation for me, completely unsolicited. It was very helpful. I was also impressed with how much product they keep in stock. Everything I needed they had ready to go. No special orders needed on this trip.

These guys are simply the best in Salt Lake. Ive been a regular customer for a few years now and have had many positive experiences with them, but Ill just mention my most recent one here.I went in the other day to get a shock mount for an obscure vintage condenser mic. They didnt have one that would fit (its a huge mic) and even after a quick Internet search we still couldnt find anything. Then Dan (one of their sales associates) remembered an old shock mount they kept around as a store demo. We tried it and it fit! I offered to pay and they wouldnt take my money. Its just a demo model weve had sitting around. You can just have it. Well done boys. Ill be a loyal customer for years to come.

I have worked with them for 8 years and they helped me initially to set up my own little recording studio—I knew nothing at all—and they helped explain everything to me and listened to what I would and would not be doing so I didn’t have to spend more on something I would t need. Such a helpful resource! They want to save me money! I just returned wanting to update my system and again they were so helpful giving me all the one-on-one training I needed (and didn’t mind me recording a couple of how-to sessions so I could go back and review). I have been a customer for many years and have spent literally Tens of thousands of dollars. I have been treated in the past well, and thought I had been given good prices on my purchases. Several weeks ago I went into the store in need of a single speakon power cable. I was told they did not stock this item and it would have to be made at the store and would take several days. I explained I live 300 miles away and was leaving for home that afternoon, could they possible build this item by the afternoon. I was told no. There were other customers they needed to tend to and I could not be accommodated. I mentioned my loyalty and that I have spent a lot of money and this made no difference. They said sorry and that was that.It seems to me that for customer loyalty performance audio could have done this for me. I probably will not return and do business again. I told others of this treatment and I doubt if they will trade there either.

While I may not know the ins and outs of audio tech, I do know that Byron and the gang at Performance Audio are not just knowledgeable and patiently help their customers learn more about all that their visit entails, but then they volunteered even more of their time to prep my equipment while I got to selfishly enjoy the pleasure of their conversation free of charge. Ive been to performance audio multiple times. Ive always had a good experience. Ive rented, purchased, and now had something repaired! I was in a bind for an event and shipped them a product one week before my event I needed the product at! Well they were able to not only fix it but shipped it in time for me to be able to rock my event! I had them fix a EV amp. These guys deliver grand slam service. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and interested in getting you a solution to whatever you are working to address. I went in there on Saturday to drop off a wireless mic set up that was giving us problems during our Sunday morning services. Darrin worked to solve the problem then and there - at the front counter - instead of having me come back the following week as well as being without the mic the following day. He stayed on it and got the mic programmed correctly and the mic performed flawlessly the following day. We have a DJ business, and use Performance Audio for all of our needs. The staff there is friendly, and knows their stuff! Whenever we have a question about equipment or unique needs for specific events, we always use Performance Audio. When we were having problems with one of our wireless microphones, they were great to help us troubleshoot the problem and get it fixed. Efficient sale but terrible customer service.On the phone, I was told this store had 1 pair left of the headphones I requested. So I had them put on hold under my name.Walked in to collect and pay. No one wanted to help. Someone walked up and said you here for a rental? I said hi mate, I called 30 min ago to put a pair of headphones on hold. He responded nothing has been put on holdEventually I see the exact headphones on his personal desk with a note on top.I said hey thats the pair! And he responds oh you want these? I was gonna give them awayAnyway Im glad I live elsewhere and never have to go back.

Ive worked with Performance Audio for over two years now purchasing / renting DJ equipment and speakers. I walked into this place wanting to purchase a new microphone and headphones to replace my gaming headset I had been using. I had a few ideas as to what I wanted to get, but they didnt have exactly what I wanted. The nice staff members help me pick out some replacements and made the experience nice.

$30 Zoom H5 audio recording rental. I dont know if Im really the type of customer they prefer for how little I spent, but youd never know it the way they treated me. They made sure I was well taken care of, spending the time to explain to me what everything was on the device and how to work it. It was a 1 day rental, but they let me pick it up the evening of the day previous and return it the day after with no problem. They gave me extra batteries just in case. When I was done, they made sure I didnt leave without having all my questions answered. I did not feel rushed or unimportant. Quite the opposite. After I returned the equipment, as I was walking away I couldnt help but think that this is the model way to run a company.

With less than 24 hours before my sisters wedding, our other audio rental fell through. I called Performance Audio, was connected with Tom Saltas, and within an hour and a half I had a everything I needed. You could say, he literally saved the wedding. Tom color coded all the cables, walked me through the setup, and even gave me his cell to call him in case we had any problems.

I rented a mic from Performance and they were excellent. The gent who helped me took time to show me how it works, and it all worked out great.
