Stop price gouging your customers, I would rather buy from a store that provides honest, fair pricing on their products than get gouged. I know there is a ammo shortage and I am willing to pay more but $200 for a box of .22 is criminal. I will never buy from your store or use your range again.

Went in today to purchase some sights for my brand new M&P pistol.Not much of a selection and double the typical price I’ve been seeing but they offered to install them for free.Unfortunately I found out why the free install. They used enough loctite to burry the set screw.I got the gun back and there are vice marks all over the slide that removed the armornite coating. And the brand new sights have punch marks on them. I was hoping I could get the gun home and clean and polish it up a bit.I didn’t say anything when they handed it back because I fear I would have lost my cool and I absolutely hate confrontation.

I dont envy the gun counter folks. Its been a rough 20 months for most of them. I shop at several different gun shops in this town. I feel like this one has by far and away the best staff of all the shops. Now dont get me wrong. It wouldnt be my first choice for an obscure set of reloading dies or something crazy like that. But. Its got most everything you want or need. They have more reloading stuff than all but two others. Not counting the big boxes of course. I try and stay out of those places. Anyway. The staff at most shops downright hate their customers. Its obvious. I feel like Discount goes out of their way to be helpful. Even when we dont deserve it. From a counter person looking through every single sight they had to verify that they indeed did not have a Glock 19 sight. No one has any. They knew. But still. I would have cracked by now. I dont envy them. It may be one of only a few that has a competent gunsmith on sight. Thats refreshing. Anyway. Check em out. Seems like not a lot of people even know where they are. Its worth finding.

I purchased my first pistol from the location years ago when they first opened. I would have given it a 5 star review back then. I went into this location today to purchase another. The pricing of their firearms are a bit of a joke. I walked out, made some phone calls, went down the road and picked up the same pistol for 110 dollars cheaper. Lets not get started on the price of ammo almost double the normal rate. I get the times are different but extortion. I definitely expected more from this shop. If you don’t know firearms, shop around before spending a penny here. The only stars they get are for the guys working when I went in; they were very knowledgeable and friendly.

Excellent gun store. Odd location in the middle of nowhere, but otherwise no complaints. Good staff, good selection. Prices very fair, even these days when everybody else is charging too much for everything. Range is very nice and clean. In the winter the range is freezing cold, so wear a sweater!

Went for some optics/iron sights and mags. I needed to borrow a castle nut wrench for 7 seconds. I was told, that was the equivalent to asking for a free oil change from the mechanic. And its $25 for gun smithing... No problem d.ck, Ill take my business elsewhere. Also they didnt have any 10 round mags, no iron sights and optics were $100+. Nothing discount about this place. Impact guns right down the street helped with no questions asked or patronizing comments. One moment of decent customer service and you would have had a customer for life.Sometime around 12-7-20. There were guys power washing out front.

DISCOUNT GUNS AND AMMO! Seriously, thats the name of the store. I bought some ammo there and was overcharged. Their competitor Impact Guns sold the exact same ammo for less. I overpayed altogether $25. They do not do returns on ammo either So I have to just eat the cost. I should have done more research admittedly, but I just assumed a place called DISCOUNT Guns and Ammo would have prices that would be either comparable to their competitors or a little less hence DISCOUNT Guns and Ammo. I can only assume that their firearms are more too. Impact Guns has earned my future business. Im extremely disappointed with Discount Guns and Ammo.

These guys are great. Being new to the gun world can be very intimidating. Most stores arent very welcoming. But these guys were great from the get-go. They Let us check everything out answered any questions and helped a ton. They even have an on-site Marksman Manny who will do classes and teach you everything you need to know. I really cant say enough good things about them. EVERYONE there is amazing. Would recommend 10/10.

The staff was very helpful. We came in, rented a few guns, and used the range. The gentleman at the counter helped us pick out multiple guns to get different experiences. Another staff member came into the range and offered each group a little help with basic safety, in a manner that didn’t make those he was helping feel like idiots.

Honestly been to many ranges in different states, but this is a great range bit darker than I personally like it to be, but its a terrific range. As soon I was helped by a polite and helpful gentlemen I knew I went to a good range, cheap and the store itself had everything you could get. Helpful and great staff deffently going here again before I leave, and coming back to salt lake.Ps: it is nice not having a fee for rentals on hearing protection.

Went in with the intention of buying 2 guns. After looking at a couple I asked if they would give a discount on a 2 gun purchase. The response was We can give you the apocalypse price and charge you more . Never even walk into one of their stores now.

Ive been here a few times to take advantage of the shooting range, I had a good time, every time. Its only like $12 to rent a lane, ears are complimentary, they have some cheap($2) eyes if you forget yours, targets are $1.50 each. If you dont have have your own guns, they have a variety available for rent, I think its $12 for one gun rental or $25 to rent as many as you like. The only catch is you have buy the ammo for rentals from them, but thats expected. They have a pretty good selection of fire arms, hand guns and rifles for sale, plus ammo and accessories.

The team at Dougs were so helpful and accommodating. Fantastic facilities, excellent advice and took the time to make sure I was looked after. Will be back next time I am in town for sure.

Out of the few gun stores Ive been to this place is the best. They are friendly and very helpful. I went to them for my conceal class and the instructor was very nice and helpful as well. My husband and myself have bought a few guns from them and plan to go back for more. Definitely giving them 5 stars they deserve it.

Had a great time at this place. Im prior military, and to have military grade weaponry was cool. Staff was polite and friendly. Service wasnt long at all considering I went on Black Friday. Good prices, but wasnt sure about coming here because of the past reviews. They were wrong or took something too personal because these guys were fantastic and they know there stuff. Range was a bit small, but did the job (75 yards) to teach my wife how to shoot a rifle. Rental prices were cheaper than most places I have been to in the greater salt lake area. Spent 60.00 for 2 people all equipment, ammo, and rental. about an hour of shooting.

Range is meh. 2/3 of these lanes have 0 ventilation. You get stuck in one without it, enjoy feeling like a pig in a sauna with sweat in your eyes. I came here because its close, but I wont come back to this range. Lot better options for a few $$$ more.

Great staff. Customer service was excellent. Took my kids to shoot for the first time. They gave us a room to meet in to practice handling and loading/clearing the gun. They have posters in the room for marksmanship and carrying classes and it worked out great to teach my kids. Overall a great experience!

I have been to many gun stores in the area. Discount Guns in salt lake city is by far the most knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I have been a repeat customer many times now. from their indoor gun rang to the riffles and handguns I have purchased from them. their prices are great and they carry a huge selection, they have even ordered in specialty guns for me. they have always had al the accessories, targets and ammo I have needed. today I found out they are now open on Sundays!

Very professional and polite.I was attracted to the store because of the name, I was hoping to find some good deals on 9mm and .40 Ammo but their prices are pretty much the same as most of the retailers I usually shop so I was a bit desapointed. Their prices on ammunition are definitely not “discount”, in fact I would say they are quite expensive. The prices on fire arms and gear are just ok. But the prices for rental and to go shooting there is pretty good. I will also say the customer service And willingness to help you is pretty good as well. This place is just “ok”, not awful but not fantastic.

My family and I went here for one of my birthday presents. It was the best gun shop/re range Ive ever been to. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. The price for ammo, renting and passes was extremely lower compared to other gun shops in SLC.

After much research for my first handgun purchase I found that Discount Guns had the best price on the gun I wanted. Everything with that purchase went very well. Several months after purchasing my handgun I decided to look for a gun for my wife. We were just looking without the intent to buy and we fell in love with a gun for her. However after returning home I was very disappointing to see that this very same gun was going for several hundred dollars less everywhere else. Yes, this is partially my fault for not thoroughly researching my purchase beforehand; but I was still very disappointed to have two very different buying experiences.

Awesome range, cartridge prices are a little steep but customer service and first experience at this particular range was a great experience, Ill be back often. Went on a Wednesday night had the range to myself.

I used to have a higher rated review for this shop due to the their previously good customer service. This, unfortunately was the only redeemable aspect of Discount Guns, and now is not the case. From now on I wont be going back here for Ammo, their range, or Firearm Purchases, and I STRONGLY recommend other firearms owners, or new buyers avoid this shop as well. Allow me to explain the full story here because it is nothing short of unacceptable.I was a first time gun purchaser about a year ago, and decided to pick up a rifle from Discount guns, an AKM to be exact that later started to tear itself apart in less than a month of owning it, in under 250 rounds. It was not in fact my fault. I shot factory ammunition that was not to hot, and cleaned and took care of the rifle properly every single time I used it. I was told to contact the manufacturer, only to find the manufacturer went bankrupt and disbanded long before my purchase. Rendering the warranty useless - something I was never informed about prior to purchasing. Discount guns then said they would do free gunsmithing on the rifle to try and save it, but this took them over a month and never truly fixed the problem so they allowed me to trade the rifle in for a different make and model. I was satisfied and left a decent review to thank them for working with me through the process. I wish I could end this here and say they worked everything out, but as my father started buying firearms there as well, more and more things went wrong.My father bought a revolver there that was unfortunately later found to be unsafe as the cylinder catch didnt function appropriately. Something that could have ended in an out-of-battery detonation. We luckily discovered this before firing the revolver even once, and returned it the next day. The first revolver was replaced by ANOTHER revolver, that broke in under 50 rounds. If you are keeping track, they had sold us 3 separate firearms that broke in less than a month of ownership. Again, allow me to emphasis we never shot anything other than range safe, factory ammo, and took care of all of our guns, never firing in abrupt or rapid manors, to no avail. This final time my father entered the shop to pick up his second revolver they attempted to fix for him, after not being contacted in over a week in regards to the matter. They had damaged the finish of the revolver, and tried to blame the continuous faulty firearms they had sold us on our own misuse of the guns purchased there. This we found to be completely unacceptable, as no gun should fail to function properly after less than a month of minor use. Period. Never mind the fact all these defective firearms were being sold at full MSRP value to us.We have in fact purchased 3 other firearms from Discount Guns that seem to function fine, but the odds we have found from personal experience with Discount, is that 50% of our firearms purchased from there broke in under a month. I dont know about you, but when im spending hundreds of dollars on ANYTHING, im not buying it from a place where its a coin toss that it will work properly.Their ammo is overly-priced compared to other stores such as Gallensons, their range is poorly ventilated and poorly lit, and worst of all, the guns they sell are unacceptably faulty. Do not go here if you want a firearm that will serve you many years to come, because although you might be lucky enough to get one that will stand the test of time, it seems to be equal odds you will not.

The employees are very friendly, each time Ive gone in. They treat my wife very well, even if she is alone there. Their range is nice, but it can get stuffy and smokey, if there are many people using it. What brings down the star rating is the service I recieved on a scope mount. I dont have torque drivers and dont want to purchase them for one use. So, I took it to them to mount. They said they would bore site it, as well. The scope was crooked and did not even hit paper. I had to readjust the scope and bore sited it myself. I wasted some ammo, before I noticed the problem. Other than this one experience, they are great people.

I recently went to buy my first rifle there I got a ras47 because I wanted an ak I asked if the trinium was forged and he assured me it was after I purchased it it had multiple malfunctions within 60 rounds I did some research at home and found he lied to me and it was cast and when I asked for a refund I was treated with such disrespect and there no refunds sign is posted above the door and is obstructed by the address so you can’t even see it this is the second firearm that I’ve had problems with this store I would highly recommend to take your business elsewhere.

Went in to use the target range, the staff was friendly and helpful. It was my first time here, the price of $12 for the small and outdated range is a little much in my opinion and the ventilation is horrible, it was to hot with no air flow to enjoy yourself at the range. Make sure that you bring your own targets, the cheapest paper targets are a $1 a sheet. The saff and selection in the shop are fine but not impressed with the prices especially when the name is Discount Guns & Ammo.

I made one visit, just one. They were really busy, staff was still able to assist me in a timely manner and be helpful (not rude and ignorant like The Gun Vault asses in So. Jordan).Made a purchase on a Glock 17 Gen4 which was the same price as Get Some Guns and Gallensons ($539) and not $558.82 like The Gun Vault which rip customers off. I was also given a free 30-day unlimited range pass. Exceeded my expectations on customer service and pricing. That is a win.Very positive experience and I will do business with them again.

The condescending nature of the employees at both the Salt Lake store and the manager of the Provo store are unbelievable. I asked for an order to be canceled yesterday and had to call back to find out not only was it not cancelled but they were going to charge an extra 25% to follow through with it. The reason for my cancelation was due to lack of inventory at the SLC store though it shows available from the website. Do not do business with these guys. I was berated over the phone and treated with complete disrespect. Every time I tried to speak, the manager would speak over the top of me. Handgun Haven is a much better store fyi!

My Son had never been to an indoor range before. We went there for his 14th birthday last week. They were so nice to him, we spent 2.5 hrs there shooting 300-500 rounds thru 3 guns. For way less than what I would have spent getting out to the desert in gas we were cool and dry. As for variety, in my humble opinion they have a better selection of accessories and guns than Sportsmans-and I like Sportsmans. Keep up the good work!
