My United Rental Nightmare: Curious thing is that I never rented equipment form United Rental San Angelo, and never had any affiliation with anyone who had rented from them, but I got a legal notice that I owed them $5,266.19, and that they would be filing a lien against my house. When I contacted them to try and resolve the issue, the manager hung up on me. It took lots of phone call, and lots of being treated rudely, being yelled at, and being treated disrespectfully before they finally realized they had put the wrong address into their vicious, hateful, monstrous bill collection, lien generating, legal beast. In the end, they called and said, oops, we entered the address wrong and in fact I did not owe them money. Would have been nice if this had never happened, and unfortunately once it did happen, it would have been nice to have been treated with dignity and respect, as opposed to some deadbeat lowlife. I very much recommend finding someone else to do business with.It appears that United Rental has a shoot first, then ask questions approach to customer relations. I found it curious that they seemed to think that it was MY job to prove to them that I was NOT a customer, like I am guilty until I prove myself innocent, even though I have NEVER rented anything from them, and have never been affiliated with anyone who rented from them. If you are thinking about doing business with them, I recommend that you RUN WHILE YOU STILL CAN!
