Purchasing a headstone for a loved one you have just lost is very difficult, emotional, and something you dread doing. Mark and his staff went above and beyond to make our familys experience less difficult. From beginning to end, they answered all questions, responded to all inquiries, and took care of everything that needed to be taken care of. Marks artwork and creativity surpasses anything else you have ever seen (the 3D Roses were beautiful). He listens to the family and creates the artwork uniquely for the person who has passed. We ordered our stone during COVID, and if my mothers passing wasnt difficult enough, COVID made the process a little more difficult. But Mark and his staff was there every step of the way. I guess what really did it for me is when we received the stone, he touched up the headstone, and added more artwork to ensure our family was happy and pleased with the outcome. South Texas Memorials is not about the money...and it shows by the nature and attitude everyone who works there has. I will never forget what Mark and his staff did for us. If I ever need headstone services again, South Texas Memorials is where I will definitely return to.

Mark and his team did a remarkable job on the engraved marble bench they made for us which was placed at our Church today. They had it ready exactly as promised as to quality and date of delivery. My father & I went to a couple of places to order my mom’s tombstone they looked at us as if we were crazy cuz we wanted a customized stone .. Thank God I googled & found South Texas Memorials .. No regrets at all Mark designed a rough draft in 10 min & it was exactly what we wanted 👍👍Mark was not pushy about collecting the money that was a big plus cuz the previous place we went wanted $2,500 down really .. Where to start? -- Now I know most of us come to that point in life where a loved one is gone. We dont know where to look or where to start. We know our loved one needs a headstone, just so that way we will always know where our loved one was at and for others to find them more easily. Well my family and I came across that point to where we were just searching online looking for places where they do headstones. Ill be completly honest with you this was the first one that popped out when searching. We went to there website to look at their portfolio. I loved there work it was amazing. I thought there work was really good so first thing that popped in my head was that it might be a little pricy. Keep in mind my family and I had only so much money to work with. So the next day my mother and I went down there to them (it was about 10 minutes away from us). We talked with Mark Garza and told him our situation that we were in and how much we had to work with. He handed us a brochure to look at and gave us the prices of each of the headstones they do. We choose the one that we could afford and we got a picture to fit in the headstone too. We had the money cash to pay upfront that day so he decided to be generous enough and upsize the photo one size (it went from a size 0 to a 1) which was good enough. We didnt know if to pay him everything upfront (like some places ask), but Mark suggested that we just only pay half, and just gave us some advice and said to my mother & I Look Im here to help you and I want for you to trust me and just pay me half. Sometimes theres people who will just take the whole payment upfront in order to get things started. He also then said Just pay me half and in the mean time you can make payments until im done with the headstone or you can just pay me the other half when im done. I really loved that he told us that, because you can just already tell by meeting him he was an honest person and not working to just take peoples money or anything like that. Mark and his family owned-operated business really take pride in there work and all that they do. They do give you a rough draft of the headstone (also keep in mind that the engraving is UNLIMITED and he can do ANYTHING you request) and they then pass it on to the person who then puts in on the computer and works with what you have on the headstone. They also keep you updated on how it looks ect. They ask that you take them pictures (if you want a picture on your headstone) and they will let you choose which photo you want and if you need help choosing they will give you suggestions. I really loved working with these people. Theyre GREAT! Theyre such a blessing. They didnt give me no hassle at all the got the headstone done in a nice and timly manner. So Im leaving this long review for someone who wants to know how good they are. I really do suggest you see them and check them out. Let them be the one who takes care of your loved ones headstone.
