Took the kiddo here for the experience, and he loved it. The regular size is bigger than I expected, the ice cream is tasty (I recommend the milk coffee), and the workers are polite and attentive. She also briefly explained the nitrogen process to my son, which was cool. Its a little pricier than most ice cream shops (about $6 for a regular), but not crazy, and very much worth it.
First time here 10/14/17.This place is awesome. I love the Chemistry theme. I like the idea you get to make your own ice cream. So many to choose you cant go wrong. These also make waffles fresh to order. I was surprised at texture of the ice cream. The nitrogen made the ice cream nice and smooth. I gotta say it was nice.Only downside is space. Its a small building and not alot of seating space. Outside seating would be nice.
Air conditioning is working again to all those who complained it happens. Sometimes things break and they have to get fixed. The ice cream is so creamy (hello their name) so some may not like that but I do its fresh ice cream made right in front of you. You can add toppings on top or have it mixed it your choice. I recommend getting a flavor of ice cream you already know you like before trying to be adventurous and then giving a bad review because you didnt like your adventurous flavor and toppings. Im gonna miss this place since Im moving out of state and they dont have a creamistry there. 10/10 recommend. Staff is always nice and tries to get your order done as soon as possible.
Come here for the first and last time today. I used to love subzero and was sad they closed so decided to give them a try. I ordered nutella flavor with strawberries. it does not taste anything like nutella, taste it more like choco milk if anything and needed more chocolate. My sister had a pistachio flavor one and did not taste like pistachio at all. I dont know what it taste it like, but it was not pistachio. the coloring was not even mixed in all the way. I definitely wouldnt recommend. You can see the green and yellow colors in the pistachio ice cream. It left my sisters lip completely yellow.
Hubby and I decided to give this place a try after our Saturday nights Valentines Date. Wow, what an experience! We had no clue what to expect, but were very pleasantly surprised. The placed was packed when we got there at 7:30 PM, which was a good sign. When we got to the register to place our order, the girl at the counter explained the order process to us. You choose your size, then your base (which includes dairy-free options), then the flavor of the ice cream, mix-ins/toppings, and then what you want it served in(cup, brownie bowl, or waffle cup. The combinations are endless!Once your order is placed, the magic show begins. The base and flavor are mixed together then liquid nitrogen as added to create the ice cream. Lots of smoke ensues. Then once the ice cream is formed they add your mix-ins and toppings, and Voila, your confection is ready! The ice cream was sweet, dense, and packed with Oreos(my choice of topping). I couldnt stop eating even though I was full as a tick!Great experience, great ice cream! Well definitely be back Creamistry!
We love trying new ice cream places. Especially if they serve something unique than the usual regular ice cream out of the freezer. We have tried other nitrogen ice cream places before and loved them. Not quite a fan of this place as much.I tried two flavors. One was cookie butter and the other birthday cake. The hard part that I have is I tried the coconut base for both. So it might not be truly fair for me to review them fully yet. So I will only review what I thought of the coconut base and flavors I tried.I would not recommend the coconut base at all. We both could not stand the taste of it and I use coconut milk and almond milk for my cereal. We ended up throwing out majority of it. I will possibly try the premium base one day as well.I just wanted to give my opinion on the coconut base in case other customers wonder if they should choose it or not.We personally have a few other ice cream places that we believe truly taste better and offer more than what they do. Plus some other places dont charge a lot or if at all for toppings.Give them a try though. Just try the premium base. Never know until you try. Thats why we like to always go somewhere new:)!
A 16 dollar mistake.Atmosphere: work spaces were disgusting with left over crumbs and particles. Air conditioning did not work and there was a strong smell of mold/mildew.Employees: amotivated. We waited 5 minutes to be acknowledged. When attempting to place an order, were told they no longer have waffle bowls, despite them being available on the menu. After waiting 17 minutes for ice cream (the store had 0 customers in front of us), was told they were out of caramel very non-chalantly.Product: Disgusting. I ordered the coffee creation... It was terribly bitter without a hint of sweetness. Furthermore, it was melted due to the time it took the employee to inform us that they were out of caramel.Bottom Line Up Front: cool idea... But this Creamistry clearly missed the mark. Steer clear.
It was a cool experience which everyone should check out at least once. I personally was not a huge fan of the ice cream but it was a cool experience. They did not carry everything on the menu and our group seem to choose the things that they did not carry. The ice cream also has a very different texture, I was not a huge fan of it but I am still happy that I went for the experience.
A very nice experience, since they have a very unique way to make their ice creams. Staff is very friendly and attentive with every customer. Have many options, doesn’t matter if you are vegetarian, vegan or lactose intolerant. They make ice cream YOUR-way, and the best part is that you can add toppings! They have inside and outside seating as well. Ill be coming back for more ice cream every week!!
Amazing ice cream with a strange and incredible texture that is from the interesting use of liquid nitrogen there. Its an entertaining and fun place to take your kids as the whole kitchen is surrounded by glass allowing you to see as they make the ice cream with the liquid nitrogen. A really cool place with fair prices for the magical show you get to see.
Let me start off by saying that I am incredibly dissatisfied with this place. This will be my one and only time going there. I will NOT be going back to this incredibly overpriced ice cream shop. To give you an idea as to how overpriced this place is, it cost me more to buy ice cream for four people, 2 small and 2 regular sized items, versus dinner for four at a sit down restaurant. The total cost for the two small and two medium items was around $35--absolutely asinine! To add to my annoyance with this place, I was allowed to order inside but was told I cannot wait inside and have to pickup my order through the drive-thru. What is the point of allowing people inside if you going to make them pick up their order through the drive-thru? After placing my order with the rude employee, I had to get back into my car and wait 25 minutes to get my melted, highly overpriced ice cream--not even an apology for taking so long. Why does it take 25 minutes to make 4 ice cream orders? The place was dead as far as customers--one car in front of us. With service and prices like this, I can see why the place is dead.
As I’m placing my order the Manager walked in in work out clothing under the influence (she smelled like marijuana). I was asking the cashier if I can get a different container. She didn’t know so the manager approached me with an aggressive demeanor stating that they didn’t have to serve us. I asked why would she state that if all we asked for was just to sell us a to go container. Then she proceeded to get more aggressive and said that she will no longer sell us anything and that my family and I (3 kids included) needed to leave the store. It was an embarrassment to my family and I for how she treated us. We decided to leave the shop. We have been going to creamistry since they opened and always referred visitors there. We will no longer be giving service to this business nor will we refer anyone to this shop. I am a business owner myself and I strive to run a professional business and would never allow management or an employee to speak to any customer in that manner, it’s unacceptable. I hope the owner reads this comment so they can understand what type of employees they have running their business. To the owner please look at cameras- including the back door when she leaves. You’re losing customers because of her unprofessional behavior. The manager decline to provide her name.
It’s a Monday, 3pm. The lights are on, there are people inside, yet the door is locked. Everyone just staring at us trying to get in. Website, google and business hours says they are open. Phone number doesn’t workGood thing I drove my kid 40 min to get icecream here.At least hang a closed sign if you can’t be bothered.
We’ve been coming to Creamiatry since it opened. I have to say that’s it’s steadily gone down hill in terms of services and cleanliness of the store. We had to clean off our own table and they weren’t very busy. The staff just doesn’t seem like they want to be at their jobs
Some of the best sorbet Ive ever had. Kids loved it! Very unique experience watching them freeze the ice cream upon order.
Ice cream is very good but the best part was the show. It takes about 15 minutes to make the dish. There was only one person working at the cash register, the counter and mixing the ice cream. The process is multi-steps. While we were there another 8 people came and left without ordering.
I was really excited to go get some ice cream from them today and on their website it says they are open but we showed up and it was closed. I looked at the hours on their door and it said it was also but it was not open. They do have amazing ice cream though.
I do not like to write bad reviews, but I had made a plan for a week to take my son as a surprise, and checked the hours online. We showed up and employees were there, but the door was locked. We were extremely confused since it was supposed to be normal business hours. Someone eventually came to the door and said they had only made $15 that day and the owner told them to close. No sign posted, nothing. She said if we just look up the phone number and call in advance, we can be sure they are open! Sorry, but I will go pick up my own ice cream and make it at home if going somewhere special means I have to call ahead, and they cant even bother posting a sign. I had been wanting to try this place for some time, but based on my experience and other reviews, I will never be back. Its a shame since it seems like it would be a fun experience.
Great experience. The ice cream is flavorful and creamy. Also a great place the hangout and cool down from the Texas heat.Fruity Pebbles ice cream is my favorite. Super delicious, creamy and crunchy.
I wanted to take my daughter here for the experience, so we drove across town. The shop was really dirty, and the employee working there just wasn’t impressive. After watching the whole process, my husband just didn’t feel like it was safe to eat, threw the whole cup away, and we went elsewhere. I will never come back!
Love the creations. If you are patient its worth it. There was only one employee and she was great! But she needed to do everything and thats why it took more time.
We went in on Father’s Day 2019. The store felt like the air was broken. It smelled and behind the counter was a mess. It was disgusting. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned all day. The floor and tables were gross too. We turned around and walked out. This has always been are go to place for ice cream but not any more. So disappointed.
100% love and support this place!Feedback for the owners: people in front of me are walking out on a Friday night because there’s only 1 person taking orders. If more took orders and people paid, they wouldn’t be leaving. Food for thought. I’ll never leave! But it can take a long time
The ladies working there are SO rude 😂 just be prepared. Ice cream is good.
The ice cream is great when they get your order right. On my last visit, two of our orders were wrong, it took forever to get our wrong orders and one of the employees had some sort of I cant handle real work breakdown and ran out of the place. There were 3 employees, usually only one working at any given time regardless of how many people were waiting. This is not the first time something has happened like this, so last Saturday was our final visit, period. I am not paying $10 for a cup of ice cream for this kind of customer service. I can understand one bad visit here and there, but our last 3 have been horrible. Pay attention to the bad reviews, they are 100% correct.
Went at night, there was one other customer besides myself with a good sized staff. With that being said, the store was absolutely disgusting. The bathrooms looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a week, every table had filth and trash on them, and dried ice cream smeared on the floors.
A little pricey; totally worth it.The ice cream here is created in front of you using various, cream bases that are flash-frozen with liquid nitrogen. This makes for a very fresh taste and creamy texture, though the creaminess does depend on the base you opt for. There are numerous toppings, making each visit a new, flavorful experience (and my children love it). This place is definitely worth the price, and worth driving to, even if you dont live near Stone Oak.
Amazing experience. All 4 employees making ice cream really paid attention to my 2 year old daughter and made her fill special with all the nitrogen clouds. Took 6 people and they loved it. Will go again!!!
Its cool. Your kids will love watching them make your ice cream mixes. Not the greatest ice cream, though (brownie bites were crunchy ... like croutons). If entertainment for the kids is more important than taste, go for it.
Wife wanted to try this place for her birthday treat after dinner. Got there alittle before 9 because it said they closed at 10 on Sundays. Apparently they close at 9 on Sundays, so google and their own business hours on the window are wrong because the 2 employees had the door locked and turned off the lights after we tried to open the door to come in.
The ice cream was good but it took almost 30 minutes just to get one cup of it at 2 pm on a Sunday 🤷🏻♀️
This place impressed me.The fact that they make your iced treat right in front of you in their special machines makes it entertaining to watch while you wait. They have cool spoons that can come in handy if you wash them and keep them in your car or purse. The tables were clean! To bad my ex Boyfriend and I didn’t have Chemistry while at Creamistry . My FROZEN iced treat was great though ! So I had to “let it go.”
Smoothest ice cream you will ever get! Theres so many different flavors to choose from so you easily get confused, i strongly encourage people to ask the staff about the menu if you are a first time visitor. The show of the ice cream making will be fun to watch whether youre an adult or a child. The smallest size was big enough because thats already two big ice cream balls!
Great place for ice cream. This is one of those places you cant stop going back to and try different things because everything is so good. Try the strawberry bond,,, so good!
Like other reviews WEEKS before, there was no air conditioning, the place smelled like mold/mildew and sewage, and there was one guy making the ice cream on a Saturday night. Every other time we have gone it has been great, worth the wait, but this time we had 4 tickets in front of us, finally got up to the register and he told us it would be at least 25 minutes. Well, hire more people and fix the dang AC. I’m not spending money there to wait in the heat and stinch for a product that is apparently not worth it anymore.
Fun and delicious ice cream experience! Really neat to see it being made right in front of you. Waffle cone really nice touch - not too sweet. The bases vary from traditional and unusual, with great add-ins and extras, even gluten-free.
I think the ice cream is delicious and the price is really high. What I dont appreciate is that I cannot have dairy and when my husband went to get ice cream for me the woman at the counter suggested getting a dairy free base with a coconut flavoring which, as it turns out, actually has dairy. We paid around nine dollars for ice cream I could not eat due to allergies when the only reason we go in the first place is because they have dairy free options
Nice clean environment. Friendly staff. The ice cream was good.
Ice cream was excellent! Always a tasty experience. New server made an error on our order but gladly fixed it for us.
It’s a fun place to eat ice cream, they have a great selection of toppings. Very entertaining to watch it being made! I’ll definitely be coming back.
Enjoyed the show that is created from making the ice cream from liquid nitrogen! They have a lot of options and very good waffle come that are made when you order! In the evening with the sun shining on the store front its a little hard to see if they are open, but well worth taking the time to check.
Would have loved to try it but apparently they dont adhere to their hours. Supposed to be open at noon and still werent open at 230.
I was first introduced to ice cream made with liquid nitrogen by my mother when I was a child. The first time I enjoyed Creamistry was in Belmont Shores, CA. I am happy to find this place so close to home. The black sesame does not disappoint. Just like Mom used to make.
A bit pricey, but they do use liquid nitrogen to make creamy ice-cream, not like dip in dots, ice cream. Good date idea for like anyone whose never experienced it but otherwise just go to a grocery store or a place where you can buy a pint
Ive made multiple visits since first opened and this was my favorite ice cream shop. However, today, at 100 degrees, no air conditioning, horrible work conditions for these young dedicated employees. Poor management oversight, today was national ice cream day, no buy one get one free ruby cacao, product was advertised through email, company never sent product. Management never restocked coconut milk base, very disappointing to drive this far .
Delicious ice cream. Was a little disappointed with the smell of the cleanliness of the place though. We walked into with them saying their AC broke (understandable) however there was a smell that came from inside that was not clean. We will be back but I’ll change my rating if it smells better inside.
EXPENSIVE AND POOR SERVICEThe icecream is good, and there is a great selection, HOWEVER, the staff are very rude. I was very disappointed with the way the cashier treated us. She was very blunt, and seemed to not care. we asked her for her recommendations and she was very impolite, and unhelpful. Not to mention the bill was almots $20 dollars for two people
Got there at 4:15, and there was a mother and her son in front of us. The air conditioning is broken so it’s just as hot inside as it was outside. When we went to order they were out of fruity pebbles. Once we decided we would just leave they brought out a box and we then didn’t get our ice cream until 4:37. Miserably hot inside
Employee that was at the stone oak location needs 10 stars. He was awesome! Super busy, I was tired watching him. Paid attention to detail. Our ice cream looked amazing. Taste wise wasn’t really my thing but it was alright. Expensive but if that guy was well paid it was worth it. I’d go back but wouldn’t make a special trip.
This place is so neat! Yummy ice cream, nice employees, and a clean store. How they make the ice cream is really cool, they even have dairy free milk! Definitely somewhere cool to bring the kids during the summer.
Not worth your money! My family and I stopped by and spent $56.99, worst experience ever. They didn’t give us everything we ordered, messed up the order for the customers in front of us, all the staff did was have attitude and seemed to be bothered by the customers. When I spoke to the cashier about the rest of our order and mentioned the lack of customer service she became defensive and had an attitude. So I asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the manager. I told her I am in management myself and that what they provided was not good customer service. She said she had staff working since 9am, mind you it was 5pm when we walked in, so wasn’t sure what point she was making as most people work full time and overtime, unless she was volunteering and was overworked. But I doubt that was the case. She also stated she had new staff and was having technical difficulties, I understand that can be a challenge but still no excuse for the service they provided or lack of it.My suggestion is to spend your money somewhere else. I don’t mind paying for good food but the ice cream was okay, the coconut lacked flavor and the customer service was mediocre.I ended up calling a number for the regional manager which went directly to a voicemail so I contacted a corporate number instead. They were very apologetic and stated they would provide training. I encouraged them to provide management training as they set the expectations for other employees. I will definitely not return or recommend this place to anyone.
Good service, innovative spin on the way ice cream is made, and overall very good ice cream with quality you can taste.
Excellent ice cream it was very creamy and delicious. My kids give it a 5/5 stars
Best Mangonada ever! Staff is wonderful and kind! Definitely would go here again!
I was rushed when taking my order. Not explained how steps to creating your ice cream works. Waited over 15 minutes for a “large” ice cream that wasn’t even filled to the top of a small container. They didn’t even clean the outside of the container so I got all dirty with chocolate so i had to walk back to the bar to get a napkin. I took pictures of my purchase before I started eating it. Not worth the wait or money. Go to Marble Slab.
My wife and I were trying this place for the first time, as we were excited to try the Vegan options. We watched the video that showed how everything was made to order. As soon as we were ready to order, the cashier stated that they were out of the Vegan options. We said thank you and left. Better luck next time.
Really want to like this place. Have tried it twice, and the main negative for us is that the place is not clean. For a newer shop it already feels dingy. Formica counter is chipping, viewing glass really needs cleaning. Our first food experience was good flavor-wise, but this second visit was disappointing. I ordered the identical item each time. First time was delicious, second time the chocolate flavor was overpowering. We probably wont be back.
The food was amazing. I will be bringing family next time. Prices are appropriate. Menu is like a cafe in Boston I loved.
Excellent ice-cream! Had their mint feature and it was amazing with fudge, chocolate chips and Oreo Cookies. Just a word of caution this place is not cheap. Maybe share if you can.
It’s a little pricey, the flavors are great, but one thing that bothered me about my last experience is that the lady put gloves on BEFORE counting my change and then used the same ones to make the shake. That’s just basic cross contamination.. I wonder what else is cross contaminated at this location.
Staff was friendly enough but not helpful. Ice cream had a nice texture. I got cotton candy flavor but aside from the color it really didnt taste like anything but sweet cream.
Neat concept using nitrogen to instantly freeze your creation. My sea salt caramel turned out delicious. Very clean inside and friendly staff. A little pricey for a large family to do it often.
It was delicious! We got the premium mix which was so soft and creamy. The Nutella flavor tasted better than our favorite gelato place! I also tried the fruity pebbles flavor but didnt like it as much because the crunch ruined the glorious texture. Oh well, well be back! (Also, I have a bachelors in chemistry and enjoyed the theme very much :))
Ice cream was good (not the best). Prices are outrageous. We spend over $14 for 2 regular cups of ice cream with 1 topping each (equivalent of 2 scoops). That was also after a 10% off coupon. Probably will not go back because of this.
Cool little ice cream joint with a gimmick that works. The flavors are tasty and many options to customize your experience. My only problem is the cost. Find a coupon or get a Groupon and then youre set.
Ice cream is delicious but cannot customize my order. I am willing to pay 20 dollars for ice cream I’m not sure what the problem is with customizing to add bananas or strawberries to vanilla bean. It’s something that maybe needs to be looked at. I’ve asked to add Nutella to my ice cream and the lady replied she already put everything in the system. Ok? Lol. No customer service sadly.
Been there three times, and love it! Creamiest ice cream Ive ever had, and all the flavors are amazing! Staff is super friendly also!
My first experience with liquid nitrogen ice cream. I visited twice, and tried several menu items, and all were excellent. The kids loved the experience and the ice cream.
We loved it! Great taste, size, and many options!
Under new management this place is awesome again. The owner is really friendly, and provides top notch service.
If you love science, and you love ice cream this is the place to be! Super cool to see the liquid nitrogen process. Kids will love it!
Wanted to try it. Hours on door even say closed at 10pm. Got here at 9:20 and its closed
Great flavors and superb ice cream. Nothing beats seeing the ice cream coming together in front of your eyes. Great service as well.
Weve been coming here since last summer. It *used* to be a wonderful place.Today was Mothers Day. We walked in and I immediately noticed some things were out of place. There were piles of dirty pots, there was noone actually working the machines. The working counters were covered in food bits. There was a long line of people waiting and a man I didnt recognize at the counter. This place is usually staffed by girls wearing uniforms including aprons and hats.None of those girls were there. After I paid, I waited. And waited. And waited. There were other patrons standing around waiting .Everything was in disarray. This has to be new ownership. It was a disaster.Dont come here. Dont let the good reviews fool you.Its changed and not for the better.
Decent ice cream. Experience was fun. But a little pricey, esp. Toppings for $1 each is a rip off. I would go once every 6 months for the experience. Also they didnt have any option for kids size. For my 2 and 5 yr old, i had to buy the small size ($5.50). Though the server was nice enough to split into 2 cups.
Well, I think its ok, but I suggest not ordering the chocolate swirls in chocolate icecream. Its too strong. Ruins it.
Loved it here, friendly staff! Ice cream is good and I told all my friends .
Really fun place to get custom made ice cream. The way they use liquid nitrogen is very interesting. However, prices are steep for what you are getting.
The staff was very polite and friendly. The ice cream is amazing. I would reccomend this ice cream shop to any and everyone. Thank you Creamistry for a delightful and awesome first experience.
Place is run down and nasty. Bathrooms are like high school, air conditioning wasnt working and staff was inattentive. Ive complained about this chain before with little to no response from corporate.
Such an awesome experience! Very fun place to go to with an excellent product. Large variety of flavors and a lot of experimenting that can be done as well. I highly recommend the Fruity Pebbles and the Green tea as well. Also, the Affogato (sp) is a must if youre a coffee drinker. Customer service is top-notch also :) (this review is from three years ago.)*edit 6/19/20 I’ve really tried to give this location multiple chances to redeem themselves after past management that was terrible. Repeatedly they have been dirty, sticky chairs and tables in the lobby. And why have a drive-through if no one is going to attend to it? It seems this management is no different. We sat at the drive through during open hours, only to see two staff run from the front entrance of the store, look at our vehicle, give no indication of whether they are open, closed, or if the drive-through was open, then run to a nearby car. After sitting at the drive through (we were the only car there) we decided to leave.
The girls and I decided to try this place and overall it was a good experience. The place was a little dirty and could of used some cleaning and straightening up though. My youngest had vanilla bean and the oldest had a chocolate milkshake. Both were really good and they had fun watching the icecream being made. Clean the place up and well come back. Oh yeah, it is pricey, but what icecream joint isnt.
This place was so unwelcoming and RUDE!!!! I came at 9:15 pm on October 20,2019 the two girls working were disrespectful. I tried changing my order and they refuse to retake my order and said i shouldve read what all was in my first ice cream before getting it which i did, it just tasted awful. Never have i had service that made me feel low for not liking what i got. Never coming here again!
The ice cream is delicious, but every time we go, they lack several toppings, and they do not have enough staff. There is only one employee attending the register and making the ice cream, therefore it takes roughly about 20 minutes for you to get the cup of ice cream.
