Great group of guys. They treat everyone fairly. As a woman I am happy to deal with men who dont speak down to me while discussing mowers and educating me on them. Very helpful. Just wished they had some Saturday hours since thats when I do most of my damage π.
I go there mostly they got what you need. Sometimes theres a line..but well worth it to be able to get what you need. And the line moves fast.next time need a part or wanna buy a lawnmower or power tools ..head. On over there..just remember they close for lunch.
Very poor customer service, equipment was kept twice the estimated time to complete repairs. Didnt keep customer updated on status of equipment. After talking with the owner, all is well. I will be give them more business.

This place is amazing. I was in and out. I needed a trimmer head replaced. They took my trimmer and was back in minutes. The customer service was awesome and prices are great.

I have been using these guys for 25 years. Yes I can get the parts cheaper on line and find some guy working out his backyard shed to do my repairs. But when it comes time for warranty. Those guys vanish. James Lawnmower is always there for me and only use original MFG parts. Well worth the wait and the price. Remember, you get what you pay for. If you dont mind over paying, and or paying over $100.00 each and everytime you bring in a peice of equipment. Then this is the place for you! If you dont mind waiting weeks to get your equipment back, and your equipment doesnt work, then this is the place for you! If you dont mind this place trying to find a mechanic that would stay more than two weeks, then this is the place for you! Good luck! Theyll never service ANY of Emerald Yards equipment ever again!
Absolutely steer clear, worst attitude Carlos was not only rude he was demeaning, I took my ATV parts for reference on initial contact he had already decided we were not going to do business i had sent my wife to make the purchase and this person ridiculed, demeaned a 60 yr old lady, way to go Carlos i suppose intimidating old people is right in your book, your parents must be proud i will go out of my way to avoid this business suggest everyone do the same oh and by the way it was 10 minutes in and out of o Rileys with half the parts CLOSE THIS PLACE DOWN OR HIRE PEOPLE WITH BASIC MANNERS
James Lawnmower Sales and Service is INCREDIBLE. We got a new mower last week and couldnt wait to have it tackle the weeds in the yard, but crummy weather for a few days, coupled with the fact that we completely forgot we needed a weed eater too(!), left our grass growing pretty tall. We finally got it all with the biggest help from Mr. James himself. Jeffrey helped us find exactly what we needed and made sure that we had all the necessities -- gas can, gas stabilizer, engine oil... you name it, he made sure we had it and that our purchase would last us a long time. After these last two dealings with James Lawnmower Sales and Service, well never take this type of business anywhere else. 5 STARS and the biggest of thanks!

Took my riding lawnmower because it quit working, it took them 2 weeks to supposedly get it fixed. When I went to pick it up it started right away so I didnt give it much thought, took it home and on the invoice it showed replaced clutch switch and cleaned out carb, the machine stopped working again after one hour of mowing, i looked at the switch, it was the same one it had, the carb was never cleaned and the wire going to the clutch switch was taped and it had come lose and it wouldnt work so I taped it up again and it worked . $244 .oo was what the charged me to tape a wire, I will never go there again .if they had any morals, they would return at least 200 hundred dollars back and an apology
I swear, my lawn mower works better than it did when I 1st bought it after I had to have it repaired. Great service and helpful guys. Ill be taking my other lawn mower thats not running there to have it fixed as well this week.
Jeff and his team are always busy, but they know their stuff when it comes to small equipment. My father has been going there for years before he passed away, but i now use them because my Dad did. They will work with you to make things right. I purchased two stihl chainsaws for the home and they let me make it in payments to help me with my budget. Thanks Jeff for all you do.
Very dissatisfied. More than 30 years in business. Jeffery told. They still make mistakes. The big white guy employee. Spoke to me. Before open for business. He saw i had a riding lawnmower. I mentioned i purchased at this location. He told me.its the wrong belt. . he also told at the counter they make mistakes. I though he was a customer. I was. Wrong. I found out he works at this location. He was right. Wrong belt. Serial number model number. Name of product. .No good mistake are made over and over again. Please find another lawnmower repair. . near pat Booker Rd. They did the right thing. They closed the location excellent. After i left this location.Jeffery. mentioned today other problems.. They should. Have told me. . i cut. My riding doesnt run. Please stay away from this location thanks

Really bad experience. My husband Left chain saw on April 30. Said would be ready in a couple of days. Finally called on June 12th and was told the part had just come in and would be ready the next day. Went on June 15th and was told the part had just come in and will be ready tomorrow. We shall see.
James lawnmower has the best service around. People that complain about long wait times on the phone just need to come in with their equipment. Prices are very fair and they have pretty much any part I need in stock. Workers are knowledgeable and work is done in a timely manner especially for a busyshop. People complaining need to calm down and relax. If you take your equipment anywhere else, youll be missing out on quality service at an affordable price.

I remember I went to this store looking for a part for my sons go kart, this guys helped me out and educated me on the part and on the go kart, Ive been going back because theyve always helped me even though their lawn equipment store they still have some go kart parts,I highly recommend this place, the staff was patient with me and my son and they went above and beyond to help us.
Nice place HIGH prices. I was going to get a spindle assembly for my riding mower 42deck. It was almost 3 times the cost of getting it online. I rather wait 24 hours to get it shipped in at no cost.Use the parts place...as a last resort

Service is not what it use to be. You would think that one would receive superlative service for their high rates. Perhaps the employees could at least pretend to enjoy their jobs. Lots of jabbering behind the counter regarding lunch, while customers are shaking their heads waiting to be called. Such indecorous behavior, in my opinion. We have taken our business elsewhere.

It is so great to know that a small business owner truly takes pride in contributing back to our great city. He recently donated a lawnmower to my organization and assisted in raising money for our local charities. On a personal note, the service at James Lawnmower has always been top notch!

So pleased with the service I received here. I recently moved to San Antonio and my (terrible) movers lost a bunch of my hardware. I called and spoke to David who patiently helped me figure out what parts I needed. After he placed my order it only took about three days for the parts to arrive. When I went to pick them up, all three men at the counter were busy on the phone but they acknowledged me by saying they would be right with me. A few minutes later I was out of there. When I got home I put my lawnmower back together and was as good as new. Thanks to David for helping me out!

I always go to James Lawnmower but on 7/5/16 they had a blk guy working the front counter who I never seen before and he was extremely helpful the line was long as usual and the phones were constantly ringing off the hook but this guy really worked the line down and boy he could multi task watching him work made me tired. I hope hes a new hire because he knew what customer service truly meant.
I went to return an item this morning that I found at another dealership at almost 40 percent difference in price. The part are a toro part. Same exact item and part number. I would not have found out I was being cheated if james lawnmower had all the parts I needed.The young kid who sold me the part and who I returned the part back too said they have the best service and quality product he never said about having the best prices.Seems like this dealership keeps low inventories and make their profit by charging 15% restocking fees.
Good place to get your lawn mower fix knowledgeable people
Called in twice for a zero turn mower repaired that is still under warranty (brake module and motor starter) I was told that Toro does not warranty electrical items and Toro will not honor my warranty.....I called and emailed Toro and they told me on an email that is covered under warranty as the unit I have is not an ALL ELECTRICAL UNIT. I told the shop this and still they didnt want to work on my mower. The guy that answer asked me if I bought it there and I told him no and he said to take it to the place where I bought it to get it service (Home Depot) HD does not service units only sells them. I tough that James Lawnmower was a service/parts dealer for Toro. Toro gave me information for other dealers to go and get my mower repaired under warranty. The only reason I went with this shop was because it was closer to my home.
James lawnmower is always done a good job for me and on the equipment that I bring in. Couldnt be more satisfied.
Prices are extremely high for parts. I needed rubber grommet for weedeater they charged 5-6$ called John H Sorolas they charged $ 1.47. Online found them from 3 sites including the manufacturer $1.46. Why the super high mark up.they are the highest parts prices in South Texas if you ask me. not recommended and staff acts like they are doing you a favor for charging such high markups.

After writing my previous review, Mr. James called me to go over the problems I was having both with the chainsaw and employees. He informed me that he would speak to his employees and educate them on the issues I brought up. As for the chainsaw, I was informed that my chainsaw was actually built here in the USA, specifically Virginia Beach. The problem that I was having with the chainsaw remains a mystery because Mr. James personally checked out my chainsaw and even sent it back to Stihl and no one could officially solve the problem. However, Mr. James had my chainsaw repaired, brought it to me and started it in front of me to show me that it now works once again. Mr. James has completely change my opinion of James Lawnmower Sales & Service and should be applauded for all his effort and integrity. My original post is below and is no longer relevant.First, Stihl chainsaws are basically garbage. I found out after making my purchase that most Stihl chainsaws are made in China. So do not waste your money on expensive Chinese garbage. Second, when I purchased my saw from James Lawnmower I was told by an employee to only use premixed gas in the can, not to mix my own gas. After having trouble starting the saw the same employee told me that the premixed gas was not that good and that I should be mixing my own gas. Wow, ok so which is it then? Third, when I purchased the saw a different employee told me specifically how to start the saw, in fact to prime the bulb 8 times. Again, while having trouble starting the saw and taking it in to be serviced, this same employee told me that I was flooding the saw by priming it 8 times, thats why it would not start. I asked how many times should I prime it and he said only 4 times. Approximately 1 month later I took it back, still no luck starting it, I was then told I should only be priming it 3 times max, any more than that was flooding the carburetor. Wow, its now clear that no matter what is wrong with my saw it is my fault. I guess I had bad teachers. The guys are nice enough, but I do not recommend at all.

I went to purchase a replacement wheel for my 1999 Toro Super Recycler and they sold me there last wheel for $42 dollar not including tax. I thought it was kinda high but I needed it. I bought it and they recommend I go to James H. Solora which no longer sales Toro products unless its an old stock. Guy at John H Solora then says I should go check with Z-Rider and sure enough they have 2 wheels for me that I purchased for $22 a piece. I dont know what was the diffence since all the wheels are identical considering they are made for the same mower.

You call - they answer - except from 1pm-2pm when closed for lunch - they ask if they can put you on hold. You agree - 5 mins later you are still on hold with all kinds of yack going on in the background. You get tired of waiting - hang up - try again in 5 mins - line busy - repeat - line busy - repeat - line busy. You give up and buy from someone else.Wake up James!.
