Great location, great artists, awesome shop vibe and atmosphere. I always have a great time at this shop and always leave with a great tattoo.

My daughter and I have gotten tattoos here twice. The wait is not bad, prices are reasonable and the guys are friendly and do very good work. Will definitely be back.

I ABSOLUTELY COULDNT BE HAPPIER WITH MY TATTOO! My artist was Christina and she was amazing! She fixed a tattoo that means so much to me. I cant wait to have her do some of her own work! She is so creative, light handed, and just fun to be around! I totally recommend this shop!

I looked on Google and yelp and saw the shops reviews and was sold that this was where I would get my tattoo. Rob did my piece, and as it has healed I’m even more unhappy. I came into the shop with a few girlfriends and immediately Rob was not very pleasant I’m not sure if that is just his dry personality, I should have just gone with my gut and gone elsewhere. I got line work done on the back of my ankle and the lines are uneven and several blowouts on this 4in tattoo. This tattoo was supposed to be a memoir for my grandma and it’s just a shame that this is what I ended up with. This tattoo is the worst piece I have ever had done. Please do your research before coming here!

I’m sure small tattoos are annoying for the artists. All the set up, little opportunity for artistic expression, etc. That being said a tattoo shop in Ocean Beach visited by lots of tourists is likely accustomed to these types of impulsive asks and with the $100 minimum it’s probably lucrative. What I found frustrating - and now permanent - wasn’t the tattoo itself but the placement. More largely, when I was asked to assess the tracing before the artist began I answered plainly but honestly, and I really didn’t appreciate his reaction. It was supposed to match the position of another tattoo on my left arm. He was irritated, really put out, didn’t attempt to hide it or offer to replace it. I probably should have insisted that it be moved but I began to question myself and didn’t want to cause further conflict. It seems like these guys generally do good work and my tattoo turned out ok. I’m not setting out to be malicious or a jerk but I thought it was important for other customers to be aware as they look at reviews before choosing an OB tattoo shop.

Awesome tattoo shop with amazing artists and fantastic customer service! Weve been there for two Friday the 13ths, and each time had been great! Cristina in particular is AWESOME! I love her work! Shes both fast and super conscientious, and my tattoos from her have been AMAZING! The vibe inside is really cool too, with tons of art all over the walls, both vintage and stuff from the owner and artists inside.

I came here because a few locals had recommended the shop, stopped in cause i wanted to get a mojito, add it to my whatever arm, and christina drew it up and went to town, great line work, beautiful color and i love the style and design she created, i didnt have a wait since i csme to the shop right when it opened, amazing experience for a walk in tattoo didnt spend more than an hour there from start to finish so i was able to get back to my vacation

Talented Artist/Great Atmosphere

This shop is rad and their prices are a little better than others in the OB area. Andy gave me and my friend a couple of matching tattoos and we love them! Would definitely recommend his work. :)

Great walk in tattoo experience.

Just got an amazing piece from Christina. Amazing watercolor, soft hand, great to hang out with for a longer session. I will absolutely be going to her for my entire time living in San Diego. I dont see a reason to go anywhere else. She is a wonderful person and artist and I couldnt recommend her more.

Christina was my artist and she did a fabulous job. Called ahead and was able to get in just a couple hours later. She took care of me fast with precision work. Great decour and very friendly staff. Thankful to serve in the US Military to see good hearted folk like that. God Bless You Guys at Last Days tattoo!

I have so many good things to say about this place it’s crazy! John did my first two tattoos which are my biggest pieces and they are amazing. I got them done maybe 5 years ago and people still ask if I got them recently. Yesterday he did my 6th tattoo and I’m in love. I’ve been to other places and they don’t make me feel as comfortable as John and his staff do! The shop is beautiful and clean! I’m seriously never going to another artist again. I feel so relaxed when he’s working and it’s a huge relief. Wish I was able to give more stars! 10/10 I recommend him to everyone!

Went out on a limb and decided to get a forearm piece from here a while back and I have to say that it is by far my favorite and most detailed piece I have so far. John did an incredible job with my tattoo and Im definitely planning on coming back in the near future. Thanks guys.

Can only comment on Zach but learn from my mistake and DYOR. I can deal with my wife saying “I told you so” every time I look down at my blurred and crooked scorpion that’s missing a leg, because for me tattoos aren’t just about the art. They’re a way of signifying one of life’s many great events. Unfortunately now my great event has been overshadowed by nothing but a hack with a bad attitude who thinks he knows better than the customer and only cares about finishing the job so he can spark up another J.

Just got a tattoo here and It was the best decision ever, Very proffesional, Very easy to talk to, friendly and They are all very cool! Super nice work quality.

The staff is really nice and did an amazing job on my back the line work and shading was perfect. plus the atmosphere is awesome. The pricing was extremely fair.

He did great work on a picture I brought in but Jesus H. Christ the two dudes working there were so rude and made me feel downright uncomfortable. I was already very nervous beacuse it was a much larger piece than my first tattoo but how they treated me just gave me severe anxiety. They also blatantly ignored walk-ins during my time in there. Again the work is great, I do love the piece, but beacuse of how aggressive they were I will never go back.

John Tieken does excellent work. Got a small piece with fine lines done. He took his time and really has a passion for his work.

My wife Deborah and I have a tradition of getting tattoos on our wedding anniversary. We had tattoos here 3 years in a row and plan going back again this year. Fantastic place never a bad experience and John is the best.

Talk to Henry. Thats pretty much it. I walked in on a random day wanting to get a tattoo, and working with Henry, ended up turning it in to a full sleeve. With a light hand and crazy talent, Henry Lim and Last Days will be my source for all future ink.

Got a small tatt on finger to match with my daughter. The guy did it and it looked like a 2nd grade scribble. The girl fixed it. Its been 2 weeks and now it looks like a faded sticker tatt from an old cracker jack box. This place is a joke. AND they charged 100 bucks. Rip off janky place.This was supposed to be a special moment with my daughter, but this place ruined it. And I wasnt even upset about the 100 min...but now, what a waste of time and money. Gotta get it fixed somewhere else.The guys hand was shaking so much I asked if i should hold my hand a different way. He said, well thats common sense.What a little jerk.

Absouleley DO NOT go to this tattoo shop. Went in here for a matching couple tattoos, the artist Zach was extremely disrespectful and would not change our tattoo design even after offering to pay more (the change was just flipping the design). He took us outside and started raising his voice to us. Absolutely unprofessional and we ended up leaving with only one tattoo and going to a different tattoo shop to do the other one.

Asked for a small screw behind my ear and what I received was a very dark and lopsided object. Would give zero stars if possible.

John is a good guy and from what I saw I trusted him to be a good artist. I gave him a template of what I wanted and he swore he could do it better without a template. I trusted it and he completely went away from what I wanted and added a bunch of his own stuff and didnt even fill in the tattoo correctly. The tattoo is uneven and very unfinished. My buddie got one with him too the same day and he is in the same boat. Other tattoo artists wont even fix it becsuse they dont want their name labeled on it so I am currently stuck between getting it covered or paying tons to get it removed. Very bad experience for my first tattoo and thats a shame.

This review is long overdue..Tieken is such an amazing artist! He has done multiple tattoos for me and some of my friends. After the first tattoo he did for me I knew I was never going to go to another shop. He always makes sure im comfortable and he makes me double check the Sketch before he starts. Im never rushed and he always takes his time. If you have the slightest doubt at all just take one look at the inside of his shop or his sketch books.. Dude has got serious Talent! I get so many compliments on his work, and if you have a tattoo, you know how good it feels to have people say how amazing something looks on your body. I tell everyone to go to him..
