Build your own poke bowls is the ONLY reason I come here.. Im sure this place is great and all but the poke they make here is AMAZING! Reminds me of Hawaii
Expensive place to grocery shop, but you cant find some of the products they have anywhere else. Bristols sparkling juices are better than the ones at Trader Joes. Their premade salsas and meals are really good. Shout out to the older guy who works at the first Check-out station.
Pros: They have products you cant find in many other grocery stores like raw milk and butter. They have a decent selection of products that are all natural and do not contain vegetable oils etc... The store is clean and nice well organized and pretty consistently stocked (except for in the evenings). If youre not buying the meat which is horribly expensive you can shop there and you wont feel your heart drop into your stomach when they give you the total. Very fresh, clean vegetables. Delicious uncured bacon, sausages, cheeses.Cons: I think the meat is overpriced and overrated. Yeah Ive had some really tasty steaks from there but... I was there today and they wanted 35 dollars for a pound of porterhouse steak. Additionally the meat is not always fresh and this morning I could smell the stench of old meat creeping out from the meat coolers. Ive been sold very questionable meat on 3-4 occasions which I ended up bringing back. Even the chicken is very overpriced. My advice is if you go there stock up on what you cant find elsewhere and buy your meat from a butcher. Itll be fresher, tastier and half the price.
I love coming here for groceries! They have a big variety on fresh and organic foods! Everyone here is super friendly and helpful. I always have a great experience!
Love Bristol farms because the meat they have to offer is definitely what I look for. They have dry Aged meats which are of high quality. Cant wait for the next batch to be ready! Although pricey, I dont mind because the quality is good.
I have always loved Bristol Farms delivery via Amazon. But my experiences for the last 6 months have been very disappointing. The foods delivered are expired and old. Expired milk. Old roast beef. Rotten vegetables.Definitely shoppers who are either clueless or just don’t care?!
I love this place and all the employees. Like a little private whole foods. Thank you Bristol for your delicious roasted turkey and kindest staff members. Extra thanks to the young man who already knows I love the turkey wings. Its a little expensive but they also have the BEST sushi sashimi poke and warm cookies...and again the staff!! Another wonderful staff member a young lady from Texas is also helpful too.I used to Iive in UTC and came here every day!!! Now I live downtown but I drive just to feel a little slice of comfort. They also had the best ever hand sanitizer during the beginning of the pandemic...amazing flowers cards gifts and my sons favorite chocolate Malt balls.
Great choice of all kinds of foods, has lots of authentic italian foods. I also always find good wines on sale and GF food. Highly recommended
We stopped at this gas station because we wanted to fill up our motorcycle. The serviceman was very courteous and considerate of my needs. He was a fast thinker who was well-versed in his field. Please accept my heartfelt gratitude.
Clean and always fresh stuff if you don’t like it or it doesn’t taste good you can always return it
Im still going to buy my grocery store in this location. Theyve all got healthy food. Theyve got the best customer service. Its such a treat to shop here. Youll find anything you need at a very reasonable price. Its a very nice shopping experience for me. Its highly recommended!
Ive been coming here for years and I really love it. The produce section is fantastic, and they have some gourmet items you cant find anywhere else. Its definitely not the cheapest place around, but if you dont load up your cart with gourmet prepackaged items, youll find that you wont spend much more here than at another store.I have been really impressed with how theyve been handling the COVID-19 pandemic as well. They instituted a mask requirement before the state did, and always managed to have an ample supply of pasta in stock even when everywhere else was sold out.
Excellent store. Great service. A little pricey but they carry items I could not get elsewhere.
Great store with great selection
Very good gourmet grocery store and eatery. The prepared food section is second to none, great variety and everything is of top notch quality. The grocery store part of the store is bigger than expected with standard options and more nitch selection available. There are tons of unique finds and speciality options on all kinds of catogries of products. Wine and beer section is great!
They sell fresh foodorganized very well! But usually more expensive than other groceries
I writing this review to warn people to be careful when they shop in this store. They claim that Bristol Farms selling only superior quality of product but superior is the only price but not quality. This store has a very few clients and theres food is old.... Please make yourself a favor, if you buy anything from meat or fish department, open the package and smell it. The product can be rotten and sleazy. That what kind of sausage I bought last night. Some of theres expired cheese and dairy still on the shelf. I am not going to shop anymore in Bristol Farms even I live close by. This is it!
Best products around
Nice fresh market
So I called to check to see if they specifically had a product I was looking for. I got transferred to the grocery dept one of the male employees answered. I asked him if he specifically had the flavor and the price of the item. He confirmed the store has it in stock he confirmed the flavor and price! Well I drove 30 minutes because of this product because it cannot be bought anywhere but In Oregon. Well I get there to only find out I was lied to given false info. Why do you tell a customer you have an item that you actually don’t have. I waited 45 minutes the guy was on “lunch” needless to say I had a bad experience won’t be coming back again. Waste of money and gas.
You will find lots of rare and good products. Its a bit pricy, but they offer student discount.
If youre a chocoholic you may want to try these treats!! The Texas chocolate cake is to die for!! Its a classic moist chocolate cake with chocolate pecan ganache frosting!! Love it!! My all time favorite!! If you want a great cookie try the warm Belgium chocolate chip walnut cookie!! OMG!! So hard to not get either of these treats whenever I shop here!! I promise you wont be disappointed!!
Good selection.Friendly staff. Been going there for over 2 yrs now
Cashiers are working hard and all the departments are looking great, everything is fresh, customer service is great, and great variety
A great place to shop. The location is also great. They have a very good wine/alcohol collection and a lot of other items. The variety in fresh produce is a bit less, but still very very good.
Helpful staff, good selection of groceries. Clean. My favorite neighborhood store.
Superb market in La Jolla..it has everything from all over the world..Liquor selection is the best I have seen anywhere so far..I fell in love..try it..you will too...thank your my dear friends and travelers for following D Third Eye in sunny paradise San Diego. California
Pricey but best quality.Best produce. Bsked goods are fresh everyday. Friendly staff. Overall Excellent place for food shopping!
I love this place too much
Omar is one of your best employees! Helped with everything I needed, really good job!
Always lovely, a bit more expensive than other groceries, for sure, but fun to browse and get ideas. Prepared foods here are top-notch, but what I really appreciate is the wines and spirits section, which is looks small enough that you cant really get it wrong, but actually has an amazing selection.
Beware of spoiled hamburgers in the meat department! Last Thursday, went in and bought 5 of the regular patties and 5 with the bacon and cheese and all were spoiled! My hamburger gathering on Saturday bombed miserably! I failed to save the receipt so my purchase was not honored by the management.- so I am out some good money and a lot of disappointed friends. My advice: check expiration dates on all meat purchases next time you buy meats here!
I love shopping here. So many unique items, the bakery is great and you can find things for dessert or for a quick meal here as well. They have takeout foods, salad bar, a deli, a sushi area, cheese bar, where everything is made fresh. The seafood and meat area is fresh everyday. Everyone is very professional and helpful. Everything in the store is neat, shelved and in order.
This grocery store has the largest selection of fine cheese Ive seen. Much more than any other store Ive been to in San Diego or L.A.,. It also has a nice selection of wine and spirits. The deli section is loaded with great tasting ready to eat meals. They even have a hot food buffet style section. It is a little on the pricey side but all in all its a great little store with a lot of fine food and drink selections to choose from....
Helpful workers love u all
I love the selection of food here, it is really amazing! I rated this lower for the customer service. I have been coming here for almost a year now and every single time I check out with the cashier they have a bad attitude and are in a real mood! It makes me feel uncomfortable when I leave.
Amazing home made quality food made with organic ingredients and amazing beer selection
Very nice Employees one of the best
My favorite market in San Diego!
Great choc chip cookies, meat & fish, produce, prepared foods, service
The worst costumer service ever. The people that works there treats you like you are their enemy. Not just a few times. I have been there many times, and every time they are awful. Only the Mexicans that work there have been nice, the rest need some work ethic and costume service training, seriously (no joke).
I just wasted 66 bucks on 36 cookies and $1.85 each. Having a little get together downtown didn’t have time to stop by my usual place so I popped in here and they have a bakery not sure when they make these cookies but these are probably the worst cookies I’ve ever had and they’re not even burnt. I asked the girls behind the counter to give me six of each cookie and I tried two of them myself not a fan.
Pretty expensive for some of the same stuff you can get at the nearby Ralphs. Extra star is for the meat counter.
The fruits and vegetables are so fresh. Make such great muffins. Deli and meat department has great selection. We make the trip (25 miles) to the store. Employees are always accommodating and very helpful. Will keep shopping there.
Good quality groceries
Wonderfully nice peeps, beautiful food, and the better selection of fruits
Love this store. Lots of ready made and hot food to go. Lots of fun gourmet treats. A nice bakery. Has a great selection of protein bars. Make your own peanut butter, etc.
Fresh hatch chillies! Hot or mild, plus ready roasted. Sheep Milk Yogurts on special. Not to mention a lovely steak special. Really fresh veggies too. Probably good I dont live here. Id be broke! Everyone is friendly and helpful.
DOUBLE CHECK YOUR EXPIRATION DATES. I support local grocers when it is worth it but have had multiple issues here making me reevaluate. Also very expensive. Higher price for quality is understandable but they up charge on standard brand name corporate products, not due to premium quality
Its very clean in the store. Theres organic fruits, drinks, snacks, etc... Very beautiful floral arrangements in floral department. Health and beauty, alcohol, vitamins, non-alcoholic beverages, house-hold cleaners, meat, and vegetables! Theres something for the whole family! 😊
Fresh fruit snd clean store!
Great place to shop, their bakery is top class!
Charlene has amazing customer service. She’s very helpful and friendly. She went out of her way to help me find what I was looking for. Awesome job! Thank you!Update: Sydney has also been amazing with her customer service and people skills.
Love the store. Great quality and variety!
Pointlessly high prices across the board. Even on basic staples. I just moved to the area (from 5 miles away) and the exact same items, same brand and everything, I bought on a regular basis elsewhere (even Whole Foods) have $0.50-$5 tacked on for seemingly no reason. I understand charging a premium price for a premium or unique product but every single thing here seems to be higher. Deli food is very average, as well as the food made in house. Positives: Layout of store is welcoming and organized, poke station is fresh, cheese selection is vast and the guys at the meat department always seem to be in a great mood.
10% off for students and never crazy busy like Whole Foods makes this the best choice for most grocery trips (Amazon fulfills the rest for me). Also the way they arrange their produce is oddly satisfying.
Went shopping on dec. 23. I left my jar of honey at checkout and didn’t find it when I came back for it. The lady with straight, long brown hair with a lovely smile was kind enough to let me get another one without charge. 4 stars for the nice layout, +1 star for the lovely lady! Thanks.
I really loved the ambience! The produce is of supreme quality! I go there to buy A2 milk! They provide discounts to UCSD students and other weekly discounts are always available!
Lovely flower selections, home decor and many choices of wines. Large parking lot. Great store for all natural foods. Some items are pricey.
The best..
UTC is undergoing major changes. The mall had complete and total makeover and now the trolley is under construction. Super dense area, makes getting and finding a quick healthy bite tricky. I wanted a healthy lunch option and went into Bristol Farms thinking there would be some prepared food available and I was right. They had a salad bar, soups and other hot foods. It was much like Whole Foods salad bar, but not quite as good. You purchase your weight, I think about $9.00 per lb. The orange chicken was bomb. The rest pretty good. The staff there seemed less than thrilled to be working, in fact they seemed irritated and annoyed. Not sure what was up with that.
Nice products and good quality very healthy!!!
Such a great little grocery store. Lots of healthy options. Also, they have a huge selection of eco-friendly cleaning products. The produce selection was simply amazing here. I wish they had more locations. I would say this place is a good mix between Trader Joes and Whole Foods.
Friendly stuff, one stop and youll get all you need
For people who feel like going to Whole Foods is slumming.
Tried to call about catering and to check the availability of several items. The first two calls dropped after being put on hold. The third I called back after 15 minutes on hold. The fourth they sent me to a nonworking number and dropped. Will be trying somewhere else as that did not inspire confidence.
A great alternative to the Whole stores. Enjoyed the hot meals and ease of locating good food. The cookies are the best!
Great chocolate chip cookies! Prices are high and service is uneven
Top end grocery, clean and spacious.
Used to be my favorite go to for lunch... til they got rude with me. I’ve been going there for months now and get the same thing: Half Caesar Salad and Half BLT. I go there today, and the women behind the register repeatedly tells me I can’t do the Caesar salad in the combo? I told her I literally got this last week... less than 5 days ago... She continues to tell me that won’t work. Then rings me up for a full sandwich and full salad at a price of $20!!!! Insane. I told her that’s not what I want and left. Ridiculous. I literally was pointing at the menu and reading what I wanted.
One of the best grocery stores in town. Offering true gourmet and high quality products at a reasonable price. Foie grass and fine wines, a great selection of cheeses and sliced meats, youll find it here. This place is a wonderland for those who truly love food and seek for the best quality.
Great customer service pleasant place to shop
This gourmet grocery store has a great selection.
Great place for poke that tastes like what I get in Hawaii. Also a good selection of fresh fruits & vegetables, though you pay more than at many of the chain stores.
Its an alright grocery store, but its WAY too expensive for what you get. I bought the large hot clam chowder, and it was $11! Other items are similarly overpriced. Also, the store is either understaffed or inefficient: there were almost no customers, yet it took a while to get this one item. Would definitely recommend Vons if youre in the area
Ive been coming here for almost a year now and consistently notice that the cashiers have really awful service/attitude. They are grumpy, rude and make you feel bad if you dont take out items from a basket. The absolute best fresh meats, fresh fish and cheese selection but they have hands down the worst cashiers.
Its always fun to shop here at Bristol Farms La Jolla!!! You will everything youve ever dreamed of food and supply wise: Hatch chili guacamole, Noric Pan ware, cheeses galore, my fav place to buy grocery Hawaiian bags, and just found those dar grapes that are like fingerlings...delicious!!!
The store has good selection of food but expensive compared to other stores.
I like Bristol Farms. They are a little expensive compared to Vons but they have a selection of items you might not find anywhere else. The Bristol farms meat/deli selection has some top-notch meats like wagyu beef. I come here for steaks and seafood. I love that they have a discount for students. I have not tried the hotbar food items but they look pretty good.
Pricey but Quality worth the price of produce. Whole wheat breads are baked with heart.
Food at the cafe was great - service was extremely slow as people buying food from hot self serve item buffet kept paying for their items in cafe. Waitress was overwhelmed and could not take orders or service tables.
Service at the deli counter is so awesome. Food is good people are super nice especially the front girl named Thalia
Bristol farms was our neighborhood grocery store for the 5 years we lived in San Diego. Returned today after 4 years and nothing has changed for the worse. Its expensive sure, but it basically sets the benchmark for produce quality and service.
Patio located O/S the restaurant is like garbage dump early mornings.Zero cleaning up or wiping tables after disrespectful users lacking ettiquette and decent manners.
Great grocery store! They have my favorite kombucha, protein bars and powders, and other vegan treats. The staff is friendly, and the prices are fair. I recommend Bristol Farms La Jolla. One request is that they add a meat substitute or tofu to the hot foods bar.
Best quality selection of produce. Price is very reasonable and customer service is great.
Went in to purchase a birthday cake today. Employee in the bakery made me feel like I was an inconvenience, did a sloppy job on birthday message on cake, then proceeded to apologize to the next customer for her having to wait behind me in a tone that was dripping with sarcasm. Went to pay for cake and the cashier turns my cake box over onto its side to put in bag! Get it together, Bristol Farms!
Although it was not crowded at all, it took an inordinately long time to get service in the little cafe area. I ordered a cup of the split pea soup and the cup itself was tiny, and it was filled only to about three-quarters of an inch from the top so I would estimated had maybe 4 or 5 oz of soup in it for $4 or so. The service was marginal. The soup was okay.
Very nice location. I love their buffet for salads and different hot meals. But trader joes still has my ❤.
Horrible customer service by Gesabel B. I came in at 10:18 am, did not get someone to place my order till 10:26 am. I asked what soups did they have today and she replied I dont know, you need to walk over to the Deli section and look. I would like to think that they should know what soups are available without having to tell the customers that they themselves need to look is absurd. I recieved my food at 10:42 am.
Excellent baked goods, the cafe serves great sandwiches. Lots of samples.
Well-stocked grocery store, quite reminiscent of whole foods, but without the Amazon overtones. I recommend.
Very expensive and limited on food choices. Its supposed to be a gourmet store and higher quality, but I had to take back a container of mixed greens that was already going bad when I opened it the very next day. I live only a couple of blocks away and only go if necessary. Otherwise, I will drive further to save money and get more options. Parking is usually too crazy and not a big lot. Checkers are not too helpful or friendly...aloof and indifferent.
Great service
