My girlfriend is an avid believer in what mama roots has to offer. At first I was skeptical walking in but I have to say that, Angel, is a very welcoming man and knows everything there is to know about herbs and stones and everything in between. I actually enjoy going there with my girlfriend and am becoming more of a believer as I learn more about this stuff.

It was so peaceful and relaxing when I walked in they maybe didnt have one thing I was looking for but for the most part they have the rest of the items I needed 🙌. The energy inside was great and felt like a bunch of guardian angels are at your side.

Really neat shop full of herbs, incense, stones, trinkets, candles, etc. Will be returning again because they were friendly and helpful. Not too pricey either.

One of the most authentic metaphysical stores in San Diego. They know what everything is for versus other places that stock up on what they think is hip but dont know how to use! Energy is fantastic! 10stars!

The younger gentleman working the counter wasn’t communicative or presenting himself in a personable way. He was short to us in greeting and when we were entering the store, had a slightly condescending remark when we encountered a small obstacle with the ribbon-clad entry-way. Shortly after we entered, he took a lengthy personal call that lasted beyond when we left the store. If we wanted to purchase something or ask a question, I’d have been left waiting for him to end his call or he’d have to end it when he saw me waiting at the checkout stand in front of him.I’d be really interested in coming into the store when an owner or different employee was working. The guest who came with me and I are spiritual people, but are also very amateur, and having an employee to help point us in certain directions, ask questions, and share ideas would have made the store more enjoyable. In a store like this, being friendly and being prepared to ask new guests what they are looking for or interested in seems ideal. Still giving 4 stars because I don’t want to detriment the otherwise lovely business.

This is a really cool place BUT they let it go downhill, its really gross, and overly messy., dirty, yucky inside although it is a really cool concept I would say used to be much better.... Ive asked if they can have employees that have knowledge in the herbs that they sell because I found over the years that nobody there really knows anything about the herbs that theyre selling so along with the place being really gross it just really needs a facelift, I kind of wish they would sell it to somebody else who could really do something amazing with this cool idea..... I would love to give this place a better rating but this little shop really need some help..... like I said its really gross on the inside.
