Excalibur is great…we go there after work and enjoy cigars every now and then and the people working there are super friendly and they even give you the option to order food from the Sports bar next door to make it extra convenient

I had not been to Excalibur since the pandemic outbreak ...Finally went with childhood friends (for our mental health). LOLWe were greeted and served by Rosita whom was very attentive to all our needs and made our stay a lot more pleasant. Rosita actually demonstrated excellent customer service !!!Excalibur has a great selection of cigars, beer, wine and liquor.I will be back soon and recommend it to new customers (as well as occasional customers).

We used to live in San Diego and totally loved ❤ going to Excalibur cigar lounge! We live in Texas now, but when we find time to go back home to visit our first stop will be Excalibur! Tom the owner is so awesome and we miss seeing him each Friday night as we would go there every Friday night. My husband purposed to me at Excalibur in 2008/July. Great selection with a awesome crew of people. I felt out of place at first. Kinda got a dirty eye vibe from the person who helped me out but when people started showing up. Maybe its because I am younger than most of the people who go there.. I dont know thou. I do wish I was part of the group. Seems like the a lot of regulars come in. I really LOVED how there were women who enjoyed smoking too and not the ones who work there either. Overall first visit was great! I came all the way from North San Diego. Its worth the visit and they have fair price items. I also loved the whiskey selection on top of everthing too.

I stop here whenever I’m in SD. The only 2 I patronize are here and Churchill’s in old town. Tom at Excalibur’ and Mark at Churchill’s always treat me like I’m their best customer. And I only get there 2 or 3 times a year. A big selection of cigars and scotch. I went on a Thursday night and it was fairly busy although I wouldnt say crowded. Its obviously a popular spot. Everyone I talked to, customers and staff were all friendly and competent. A very nice atmosphere for a good smoke. They also carry a satisfactory selection of lighters and cutters. The walk-in humidor is impressive to say the least. They have house blends as well as the standard choices.

I dont get down to Excalibur often but when I do, I always enjoy it. Its mostly family run. Some of the people working are also customers. The cigar selection is the best outside of downtown with a great scotch and bourbon selection as well. Its a friendly and social atmosphere, if thats what you want or you can relax in a soft reclining chair, smoke a cigar and watch some TV in your own world. Great place to relax either way.

Fantastic cigar lounge. I particularly like the old fashions. Not much of a smoker, but I do enjoy the smell of a good cigar. The staff has excellent pairing and drink suggestions.

David is extremely friendly and patient. He guided us through selecting cigars and drinks and took care of us throughout our visit. Only dislike is the sports on TV, but it wasnt loud enough to be obnoxious. Fantastic scotch, bourbon and cigar selection and prices. Will return for sure.

The customer service was great, and staff were not only knowledgeable about specific brands of cigars, but also the best drink pairings to go with your choice. I did a grape flavor paired with a sweet port and it was pretty incredible. The seats are comfortable, there are lighters and as trays on each table, and the unisex restroom is clean/classy. Parking can be an issue. Cant wait to go back!

Dont be put off by the fact that its in a strip mall. Once you step inside, select a cigar, and order a drink, this lovely cigar lounge is everything you hoped it would be. Highly recommended.

Me and a group of guys got overly drunk here. The staff were super good sports, and at a place of this caliber, they dont need to be. All of the bartenders were awesome, make amazing drinks, and give fantastic recommendations on cigars. Im typically a pipe guy, but Ive found several amazing cigars here hanging out with friends. Thanks so much for being awesome, Excalibur, and trust me, well be coming back for more.To clarify, more cigars. Less liquor.

In San Diego, there is no place better for cigars. The staff are knowledgeable and the atmosphere is excellent. If you are arriving in the afternoon parking will be difficult. There are some spaces behind the plaza, but not many. Parking seems to get easier in the early evening.

Good service and friendly. They have an excellent Scotch whiskey selection. Whiskey and bourbon selection, very good. Excellent wine and beer selection. A wide variety of cigars to choose from. And its close to the house. I recommend Excalibur to everyone.

Well lets just say cigars come with a certain image attached to a certain type of person. (Middle aged man). This is a clean, comfortable place with a very nice selection in the humidor, and a VERY nice selection of scotch, bourbon, craft beers and other beverages.The service I received on a mid-day weekday visit was superb. I will certainly return to the Excalibur in future visits to San Diego.BTW: I believe the humidification issue noted in a previous review has been fixed as all of the cigars I saw and smoked were humidified perfectly.

Excellent customer service. I am a novice cigar smoker and thoroughly enjoyed my visit and even learned a little bit. Prices vary yet he try to didnt convince me I needed top of the line smokes.

My first time going to this place. Im new to cigars and wanted some help asked a guy that was behind the bar to give me some pointers on what to find. My first smoke was the my fathers and I asked him if they have anything with a similar taste he was like I have this here while he was fiddling with his fingernails. Looked like he didnt wanna help me out. Well he left and said feel free to look around and if you have any questions just ask. Looked like he was more interested to be with the regulars that goes there. So I only grabbed one that he showed me and I went up to the register. Some old guy helped me check out and he was the same way no attention to me only the other guests that was there (the regulars). Customer service sucks here unless your a regular. Nice store but really bad customer service. So if your new to cigars dont go here.

Open an hour later than another place close by, really nice lounge, the bartender/cashier was very nice and helpful. I think their humidor runs a little wet so if youre looking for something to smoke immediately, might be best to get one in a tube, otherwise just dry box for a day and you should be fine. They have a great selection so dont let my previous sentence turn you off from visiting them. Im in town on business and am glad I found the place.Update March 2012: the humidity problem has gotten far worse. Was back in town and went tonight, the floor in the humidor is actually wet in places, some cigars have a film of condensation on them you can feel and wipe off. The lounge is nice and the staff nice, but I cant recommend purchasing any cigar from them unless its in a tube, and they only have a few tubos.

Very relaxing, bartenders (Leo & lauren) were very courteous and attentive, if my beer was low, checking on me when it was time and leaving me alone while I was enjoying a beer from their large selection. Vibe was good and was perfect to end my long HOT day with a ice cold beer. Plenty of TVs. Large selection of cigars. Staff is very knowledgeable and helped me choose a cigar that was exactly what I described. Not a hugh cigar smoker and the guidance was much appreciated. Was here last week and there are pros and cons.Pros. Great cigar selection. Great wine, beer, and scotch/whiskey slection. Lots of tvs and places to sit and comfortable chairs.Cons. NBA playoffs were on and I had to ask them to turn the game on and they played music over the speaks instead of the game. I asked for suggestions on a new cigar to try and a good single malt to pair with it and did not feel the guy working there had very good product knowledge of the cigars nor alcahol. Parking here is horrible too but thats not much of a ding on the spot but sucks is all. Also the tables are very close to the chairs and not much room to stretch out.Overall it has potential to be a great spot with that cigar selection and bar selection but based on my experience Im in no rush to go back.

Price of cigars is $1-$2 more per stick than near by cigar shops, but Excalibur is one of the very few places in San Diego to have cigar and drink I had the Cameroon Nub with Alesmith Stout.

This place is great. My husband is a huge fan of maduros so I came here to get him a box for his birthday. Intstead however the very nice tobacctionist helped me pick out 20 really good cigars, and he even threw in a few on the house. We came one night just for the lounge and I am not a huge cigar or scotch fan, but it is a great place to read a book or watch a game.
