My daughter Zoe, age 15, is learning about firearms and I go every two weeks here with her to practice. The staff are amazing & helpful. Range is clean. And so supportive and welcoming of a young woman (who are too rare in this sport). As a 20 year veteran - I enjoy the sessions as well. Highly recommend.

The staff is super friendly. Very helpful. Spent more than I wanted to, but thats just the name of the game. Honestly the staff made up for the price cause of how helpful and kind they were.

Spectacular experience. It cost me about $100 but it was very fun and the adrenaline was on the roof. Definitely recommended. It is very fun and you can feel how different it is when you actually do this your self.

Nice range with a great selection of guns and friendly staff. They were able to accommodate our bachelor party of 10 and we shot various guns and calibers of ammunition for over 2 hours.

Having never shot a gun before, other than the BB variety, I took my adult daughter to GRSD to give the real deal a shot (get it, a shot?). We were a bit nervous, not really sure why, but the staff was very friendly and helpful, answered all of our questions and eased any of our concerns. A special shout out to Baurio (I hope I am spelling his name correctly) who, once we were in the firing range, was extremely friendly and patient in explaining everything to us and was there to help us when I somehow managed to jam the firearm. Overall a great time, with what I thought was very reasonable pricing. We will be back.

The guys running the place are great. Theyre also very attentive when supervising range activities. The folks that visit must like it too; no one acts the fool and everyone respects each other. No shenanigans. Very professionally run.

Such a great experience!I went with my husband and his other Marine friends so they could practice with the 9mm before their tests this week and we had a blast.Priced really well and super friendly and willing to help you if you have any questions. I went to bootcamp (Navy) a little while ago and kind of forgot how to do it all and the staff there is so nice and actually mostly military vets.Soon they will be qualified to do Navy shooting tests, so that’s cool!Definitely going again!

Of the well put together facilities in my opinion. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The range itself have instructors inside that actually help you to better your marksmanship skills.

First time shooting guns in the states here and loved it. They have a wide selection of guns. Professional and friendly staff.

Staff who work there make it very clear that they hate their jobs. They dont greet anyone as they walk in, they have an attitude when asked any questions regarding the firearms for rent and they arent the least bit helpful. Was considering buying a membership, but will definitely take my money elsewhere simply because of the lack of customer service. They make for a hostile and uncomfortable environment. An establishment like this should look to hire more qualified candidates as opposed to these law enforcement rejects. If youre considering this place, theres better gun ranges!

Great staff and help. Went in for my birthday with two friends. Ron was awesome at the front desk and helped us a lot. Super friendly and showed great care in his job and was very informative. When we went into the actual range Jake helped out and made the experience even better. Showed all of us newbies everything and made our day. Hope I see them again next time I come in!

7 of us went to celebrate my husbands birthday and I was unsure how the experience would be like since it was a large group and we had a couple of newbies. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. They were very patient and answered all of our questions. I was unsure if I would even try it but the staff made me feel comfortable and I got the nerve to try it.

The guys who work the front counter obviously hate their jobs and it shows. No type of effort for customer service. 3 of us were looking to purchase memberships, but after walking in and feeling unwelcomed we left. They talk to you like they are doing you a favor. Probably former disgruntled law enforcement or ex-military who switched jobs and blame everyone for their where they are in life. Will take our dollars elsewhere. If you want to be treated like a paying customer go somewhere else.

Every time I have come in here, the dudes at the front desk are rude. It makes me not want to ever come back. I’ll go elsewhere, where I’m treated with respect.

Great selection, variety of options of small to large arms available depending on the shooter. Great rates for bigger groups and discounts available. Clean, open late and always have what i need, definitely recommend!

Bad experience. When we rented guns they didnt mention any time limit and after some time as it started getting bust they just came to us and told us that our time was over and did not even let us finish our ammo. Did not properly show us how to use rifles as well. Instead they just finished it themselves saying we are out of time.

A nice place to shoot, friendly staff, they work with the customers through the covid 19 hysteria.I like that they take your name and cell phone # to call you so you dont have to wait in a long line. They may tell you about an hour.Its usually 30 minutes or less. The range officers are on the ball keeping the range safe and are always willing to share their knowledge with out embarrassing or talking down to you.

This is our go to for gun ranges in San Diego. They are service oriented, informative and helpful throughout the process. For my sons 16th birthday, they waived the gun renter rate as a gift to him. The staff in as invloved as you need them to be and they are always monitoring the range for safe gun practices by all who are there. You really couldnt find a better experience anywhere!

This place is unsafe, staff is negligent I will never go back here. As soon as we arrived we could avoid to notice a strong smell of weed right on the front door and we couldnt distinguish if was someone from the staff or a client who was smoking but in any case the guy at the door seemed much more concerned that you wear your mask than if the patrons were handling a fire weapon under the influence. In fact he was telling the clients that it would be 1 hr wait and they should go get some drinks at the bar next door while they wait their turn to enter the range which made me extremely concerned about the safety from anyone who visits this location. You would think a place like this would be operated responsibly. I wonder what are the regulations they have to follow and if their staff are frequently required to take random drug tests? If so I wonder when was the last time they did it in here? Just saying....

My husband took me to date night at the Gun Range. I was super nervous about going since it was my first time. A employee there name Travis was super calming and helpful. He answered my questions thoroughly. He also had a great humor that made our experience even better. I confidently shot a 9 and a 45. His coworker Billy was also very helpful, they put me in a smaller room that wasnt going to be overwhelming for my first time. A few days later. My husband took my 13 year old son there as well for his first time. They had another great experience and Travis was a great help again. I will definitely go back and recommend.

The Gun Range is a nice place for shooting gun, the safety is good enough and not far from the city.Came here at night and its crowded, but no need to wait for the lane. The environment is nice, machine works well and fast.But that will be great if they can give more instructions to the new joiner. As my friend is the first time shooter, but she didnt learnt much about the safety procedure

Went in early for some rentals with a couple of friends as usual. We were told they werent doing rentals at the time due to them not wanting to clean them. If you wanted a counter job do fast food. .

I went with three friends of mine. place was super clean, comfortable and the offered water and coffee was a nice touch. The selections of rental guns was amazing, some really nice pieces for use. I was also able to get my firearms safety certificate while i waited for my friends to complete the range paperwork and it was painless and quick. The staff were super helpful and kind, especially in the range where they were able to show my friend, who had never shot before our visit, how to properly shoulder and manage a shotgun. I will certainly be back soon. The staff at the shop counter were friendly and personal, happy to show guns and explain anything you needed. Even had a few laughs with the staff as we talked and listened to some killer music. The only downside is they let me use a triple barrel shotgun and thanks to them, they made me fall in love with the shotgun. I highly recommended this range if youre going by yourself, taking a first time shooter (friend or family), going as a group, and to purchase a firearm as the prices were very reasonable. I spent a total of $150 to rent a shotgun, handgun, 3 5 round federal high brass slugs, a box of 20 buckshot mini shells, and two bags of 9mm (yes, they sell an affordable bag of 50 bullets for a very affordable price, was around $14) on top of my lane time and the added friend.

I called the Gun Range San Diego on a Monday night and let them know I had a group of 5 of us coming the following day. We had 3 beginners that were really looking forward to this. We planned a night of it as 2 of us were moving out of state and we wanted to do something special and fun. I asked the individual who answered the phone if we could make a reservation and he told us no need, just bring I.D.s and I confirmed they were open until 10pm. He confirmed this and said he would take care of us upon arrival.We live up in the mountains and drove 2 hours to be there. We were excited. Upon arrival (around 7pm) the doors were locked, and the location was dark. Clearly posted on the door were their hours which stated they were open until 10pm.Frustrating experience for all of us due to the cost in gas, the waste of time, and the unprofessional communication between this establishment and us.We were clearly told theyd be open and receive us, and they were not - even though otherwise stated and posted on site. We will never return to this range again, and I would avoid going here. Because of the severity and nature of a gun range and the need for safety and clear communication, I would look elsewhere if you are looking to shoot off firearms.

I am first time to gun shoot. Their instructor just teaches me step by step. He is very nice and patient, but I forget to ask his name. Anyway, I have a fun experience here. In addition, for me, I think using long gun is more fun than short gun.

I tried taking my little brother (15 years old) who lives with me and they did not let me bring him in because I did not have proof that I was his legal guardian. Kind of dumb if you ask me. I’ll take my money and guns elsewhere.

Nicest staff, best clean and welcoming environment of any gun range I’ve ever been to. They have a great selection of rentals and will take the time to familiarize for any experience level. Perfect spot to take a date to change things up and try something different. Very professional and inviting for both men and women.

This is the nicest gun range I have ever been to and my favorite in San Diego. Its is clean, well organized and modern. Staff are so friendly and helpful. They have great later hours as well so I can go with friends after work. Variety of guns you can shoot indoors as well.

The Gun Range SD is a great place to go if you want to rent a gun and try it out (be aware you need a 2nd person to do so, unless you have your own gun with you) or just want to rent a lane. The staff are helpful and friendly and the only time Ive ever seen them act rude (as other reviewers have said), is when someone is doing something unsafe. Firearms are inherently dangerous and need to be respected. If you cant abide by their safety rules, you might encounter a rude range officer, just know it is out of concern for the safety of everyone present. It can get cold in there, so bring a sweatshirt, and as its an indoor range it is very loud, you might want to double up on ear protection.

My husband and I came here for the first time a few weeks ago. The staff is amazing, very friendly and helpful. The facility is clean and they have a great supply of products. The range itself is up to date on technology and we were really happy we came here. My shout out really goes to the staff though. They were so nice that it made the experience that much better. We are coming back this Friday and I have no doubt it will be another great experience.

As a first time shooter from the UK, I elected to go for 50 rounds under the expert tutelage of Mannie using the new Walther Q5 Match 9mm. Couldnt have gone better - very enjoyable and come a zombie apocalypse Ill be ok! Thanks again to Manny and Eric making my initial gun range experience a fantastic and unforgettable one.

Friendly knowledgeable staff

This shooting range is nice and clean and is has a family friendly environment. Take your kids, theyll enjoy it here. I really didnt need any assistance, so I cant speak for their customer service, but I can see how helpful the staff were to other customers. I can see how knowledgeable the staff are as they explain the basics to new shooters. I didnt rent any guns, but they have a wide selection to choose from. Just one thing, weekends are packed, wait times are from 30 to 45 minutes, so if you are on a tight schedule, weekends may not work for you, but the wait is worth it. Highly recommended.

Its a good range but the workers are something else. Took a friend shooting and while on the range was told by a range helper who works here that he was watching my grouping and it was large. He asked me to slow it down. I was shooting a bit fast but can assure you my grouping was on point. I said so you can see my grouping at 25 yards and he answered with a yes. I then showed him my grouping and another employee chimed in and said were no arguing with you we just asked to shoot slower..... so then why didnt you just say that in the first place??? Anyways there was a guy next to me shooting at 25 yards with a pistol shooting faster then I was and hitting mostly cardboard but they let him continue to shoot as fast as he wanted.. came 30 miles away to shoot here and bought a gun here previously. Definitely wont be back.

I was visiting San Diego with my family recently and decided to bring them to this range. I was extremely pleased with how family oriented this business is. The staff was extremely personable and helpful. They have a large selection of rentals which we took full advantage of. We rented an AR14, a shot gun, 9mm and 45 cal handguns. They have armed safety officers out on the range with you and they were happy to help guide us in the proper safety procedures. We had a great time and will definitely be back next time in town!!

Went here for leave, very professional staff if you want to purchase a firearm. Adequate pricing for whatever it is you want to do either rent a weapon or just rent a lane. Conveniently located between the 2 major freeways so getting there is very accessible.

This is one of the best indoor ranges that Ive ever been to and Ive traveled all over the country. The staff was very friendly and the range safety personnel were great and always willing to help. The cost for rentals were some of the best that Ive seen. If you love practice your sharpshooting skills, I would highly recommend coming to this range!

Ive visited a few ranges around town, and my experience with The Gun Range was by far the best! I came here to purchase my first firearm, and the staff was extremely friendly, patient and helpful! My wife and I both felt very welcomed despite all of our newbie questions, and left feeling very confident in our purchase. I was able to shoot for the first time at this range yesterday, and again I couldnt be more impressed. The range counter staff were great and the range officers were extremely personable and helpful. I observed several people who had never shot before coming in, and the range officers taking time with them to give them instruction and help. For a new or experienced shooter this place is great. The lanes are wide (other places i visited you barely had shoulder space) and the electronic target rails are great! I am proud to say I am a member of this range, and I look forward to my next visit!

Went for the first time in a group of 8 on a Saturday evening for a birthday party. They were pretty busy, but took the time to help us get set up and choose our guns, we had no idea what we were doing so it was a process. Once we got inside the range, Eric was so friendly and helpful. He really made the experience for us great. We were all a little intimidated so it was awesome to have him. He was patient and made all of us feel comfortable and capable. It was the first time shooting for most of us, so I imagine we were a bit of a handful, but Eric couldnt have been better. The whole staff and range was great.

Great prices and very knowledgeable staff. instructors are always there as you shoot in case you need help, but leave you alone if you know what youre doing. You can shoot rifles and shotguns in here as well. Only costs $20 for a rifle. On Tuesday all prices are half off after 5. Definitely a fun place to go to for beginners or experts.

On my first time to this range I was bringing a 14-person crowd, many of them first-time shooters, and two were minors. It was my birthday and for a long time, people in my church group had expressed an interest in learning more about firearms. Based on the reviews for this range, I decided to give it a shot.I wasnt disappointed!My birthday happened to be Customer Appreciation Day (9/27) at The Gun Range, and each shooter would only cost $5. So for the entire 14 person group with eye+ear protection and paper targets, the total was barely $120 (I had my own weapons+ammo, and I paid for the group). It was obviously very busy when I went, yet the store representatives managed our group very well, opened up lanes as they became available, and one rep spent a lot of time training the new shooters at the range free of charge.I honestly cant think of one criticism for this store. Even when the free coffee machine was out of water, a store rep happily filled it up with no hint of complaining or annoyance. I highly recommend The Gun Range and will definitely be back for more fun in the future!

This place is amazing, along with the staff and the service. The prices are also very good and overall just a good place that also enforces the rules so you can feel safe around others that might not have as much experience with firearms. The facility is always clean, the staff often will lend a hand with your firearms if you have any questions, and the knowledge that each member of the staff contains is like no other. Very military friendly as well. Ive bought most of guns here and have never had an issue.

Came in a couple days ago and was greeted by a very friendly staff ( who make a good point to remember your name) who are also VERY knowledgeable about weapons among lots of other things. I was helped for over 2 hours by a gentleman by the name of Virgil who was probably the best salesman I have ever encounter. Virgil gave me multiple options to consider also informing me of what would work best for my line of work. If I could give 6 stars I would. This place is very well managed! The people who work here have always gone above and beyond.All of the prices here are reasonable and they have weekly deals to keep things interesting every day of the week. This range is busy on the weekends, but they have a decent lounge with coffee.The range is 25 yards long.

Likes:- they have at least 2 range attendants who look out for everyones safety- you can shoot 5.56 ammo- you can shoot aluminum and steel cased ammo.- modern programmable targets- nice lounge to chill while you wait for your laneDislikes:- parking can sometimes be a pain on busy hours. but often is not too bad

My first time shooting, I have never handled a gun before in my life. I had an absolutely fantastic experience at The Gun Range San Diego. Renting a gun from their impressive collection was quick and easy. The staff was extremely helpful and communicative, and I was on the range ready to shot in no time whatsoever. The guy on the range explained everything clearly, and then let you get on with shooting at your own pace. Help was there anytime I need it, and at no point did I feel pressured. I left with a huge smile on my face, and I will be definitely coming back for more.
