There’s a small garden center by my house, but their varieties and stock can be limited. I find Armstrong always has a good selection of healthy plants, and they seem (in my limited gardening experience) to be fairly priced.For the novice there is lots of easy to understand signage that explains the best conditions for different plants. The employees were all cheerful and happy as well.Their selection of pots was appreciated as well. There were a variety of price points, sizes, and styles. Inside they have a selection tools which I didn’t closely check. I like their selection of birdhouses and feed though.Parking is tight, at least in the weekend, but there is parking available outside of their lot out in the street. Overall I’d recommend them.

This is a quality nursery. The selection is very good. The staff is professional, competent, and kind. The prices are reasonable. We found gorgeous white with a hint of pink fuschias, something we had been seeking for quite some time. They seem to be doing just fine after transplanting. We wish Armstrong the best of luck and success!

Last week I came out to the Armstrong Garden Center Morena. I live at the end of El Cajon. Was looking for plants and I found a cute & very different succulent that was brown but looked like flowers sort of had to have it. Then grabbed a couple geraniums for a plantar I had &a nice coleus plant beautiful. Plus a couple of plastic pots. I always loved this nursery because you will find something to take home. People who work there are always helpful & so friendly. Great place to shop at.

Nice, healthy plants, usually have what we are looking for. Organic soil amendments in small quantities are perfect for us. Pots, planters and patio furnishings on the spend side, but good quality.

Found a huge aloe plant and a great pot for it. Dianna was Super helpful.

A little pricey, but worth the cost. They have much more variety than Home Depot or Lowes, and they will order things if they dont have them.

I really like this place because there are so many different varieties of plants and the people I talk to are very knowledgeable about the plants. You are going to find things here that you won’t find at Home Depot. The prices a little more expensive, but if you would like to have a much bigger selection, including California natives, I would go here. The employees at the Morena Boulevard nursery are nicer than the people at the Mission Gorge nursery.

So much fun to shop here! Id rather spend the day here than anywhere else..... looking at everything while enjoying the San Diego 🌞 weather. The parking lot is a little tough to get in and out of at the Morena location....just be careful to back out slowly.

Great selection of succulents (sans String of Pearls that appear to be endangered given their lack of presence anywhere for the past year Ive been trying to find them)

Amazing selection! Friendly and helpful workers. I could spend hours just browsing, everything was so healthy and beautiful.I do wish they had more ceramic planters but the plant selection is excellent. There were more outdoor plants than indoor but there were plants you couldnt find at Lowes or Home Depot.Cute gifts for plant lovers are also available.The cashier gave me plastic to line my car with even though I didnt ask and even offered to help me load when I only got a few small plants! Will definitely go back here always.

Update:Ive gone back a handful of times and had the same bad experience with the staff. Just cant recommend this place if you need any help. Selection is still good, so if you know what you want its worth a visit.Initial Impressions:(Four Stars)Great store. Astounding variety of healthy plants. Huge selection of pots. Staff was busy, was never asked if I needed help, and I couldnt get the attention of a staff member. Prices are on the high side, but what the stock itself makes it worth the extra price.

The selection in the store is great. Maybe I went at a busy time, but it’s not the most pleasant experience if you’re a plant beginner or if you have questions. I felt like the staff member helping me out was inconvenienced by my questions and made me feel dumb for even asking some of them. A shame, because I saw some other folks getting great customer service.I don’t think I’ll be back to this store, though. I’ll stick to the Armstrong in Mission Valley.

Woman working in the garden supplies area was working with her mask down I approached her didnt realize until after talking to her that she was wearing her mask down under her nose she continued to wear her mask under her nose as she communicated with me. I told her and just put the stuff down. I approached one other employee. And then he later directed me to the manager. Neither of them took me seriously and they just said shes okay and shrugged it off. I told them Im not okay. I said I was just going to leave, and as I was walking out I heard him say something to another staff member and they she just laughed out loud. Good to know for those who are vulnerable to COVID.

Staff great. Very helpful.Spent $150 on a 15 gallon orange tree. Got home saw it had recently been repotted. Only about a 5 gallon tree in 15 gallon container. Should have paid only $30. Ripped off.

Got to tell you this place used to be good- but dont like it anymore. Its hard to justify the prices they charge for just about everything

Its a very nice garden center. Lots of plant choices, well laid out and easy to find most things. A friendly local chain that does a very good job.

Very very pricey. But very well organized. They had a variety of plants to chose from. From herbs to fruit trees!

I only come to Armstrongs for their seeds.I like to grow alot of leafy green veggies but this place doesnt have as big of a selection for leafy greens or seeds in general.They do cover the basics of seeds like Chard, Spinach, Lettuce, Kale, Collards, Celery, Root Veggies n Tomatoes. (I wish they had Endive.)I just wish they had a bigger display for more unique varieties of seed.

The parking lot is small and hard to get in and out. The store is very spacious and the employees are nice and helpful. I stopped by to make a small cactus/succulent garden and got everything I needed.

This is seriously the best nursery in San Diego! The staff is beyond knowledgeable and helpful and attentive to every detail you are inquiring about when there.I would definitely recommend this location for any of your landscape/house plant needs.

Store is nicely laid out, staff is helpful, and things are easy to find. They currently have a staff member up front ensuring that carts get disinfected between customers, which is a nice touch. I would recommend that if you are looking for something specific to call ahead.

Armstrong is a great place to shop for plants, they are always very healthy. You can find anything for your garden outdoor or indoor plants, trees, vegetables to grow, fertilizers, and tools. There selection is always very unique and quality products. They have ample parking with a person waiting at the front door to offer you a mask or hand sanitizer or a shopping cart. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I love shopping at Armstrongs it is always a plesant experience.

Excellent selection of houseplants that far exceeds the selection at nearby Home Depot though the prices are slightly higher sometimes. The outdoor plant stock is also very diverse. Staff is very friendly and willing to find the information you need.

A lovely nursery. High-end pottery and a great assortment of beautiful plants. The parking lot is tight and can be difficult to navigate, as this is a highly trafficked location.

Stacey is so incredibly knowledgeable in plants and so helpful in picking out the right plant for a particular location. The rest if the staff is also friendly, but Stacey is always going above and beyond. We look forward to seeing her when we come in.

Nice pleasant nursery with many options who are knowledgeable. Busy location with many clientele. Parking can be challenging depending on when someone visits this location but they try to accommodate all as needed. Would recommend more parking if possible. Im aware that management works well with their limited space.

An amazing one stop shop for your planting and gardening needs. We bought an American flag and some plants to spruce up our rental, it was a night and day difference. Everything here is quality, especially the tools and accessories we bought, they are going to last a long time. Make a trip here, you wont regret it.

Thank you to the expert staff at Armstrong!My dog ate some berries off of a bush and I took some pictures and brought them in as I was concerned about toxicity. They identified it immediately, something I tried extensively online but was completely unable to pin down. They checked toxicity online for me and I was able to make a quick and informed decision about my dogs well being.Will definitely return for my future gardening needs.

The staff here is great! My mom and I were asked about three times if we needed help. Nice selection of plants and roses. The fountains were very nice as well. High quality products and staff. Keep up the great work and customer experience!

Signage not evident I was embarrassed when I was told I went in the wrong door. Not like it used to be. I miss the old real Customer Service.

Helpful staff and a lovely place to visit. Not only will you be able to find the supplies you need, but the people there will help answer questions specific to the local climate and honestly sometimes I go there just because its a relaxing place.

Amazing selection of flowers, bushes, trees, succulents, etc. I like that each aisle is clearly marked, and that each row of plants has a detailed description as to the care and maintenance of the plant. The nursery right off the freeway, making it easy to get in and out. Helpful and friendly staff, but most important, theyre KNOWLEDGEABLE!

Come here for all your plant and garden needs, NEVER go to a big home improvement center for plants! They are very helpful here, and will help you plan out everything... and If you are looking for something specific, they can probably find and order it for you.

Tremendous selection of plants

I come here all the time. They are all very friendly and willing to help. And their return policy is pretty good, although Ive never tried it.

Very nice selection of equipment and plants. Though they didnt carry my favorite pruning shears (I like the set with the built-in bottle opener). 🌻

Tim was very helpful and proactive. His knowledge and experience were useful in making the right choices for my tomatoes, which Im a total idiot about growing for the first time in my life. Trying not to blow it. Tim helped me not blow it. Lets see how this goes.

This is the place to go for all your gardening needs and information. They have an incredible selection of plants and the people who work there really know their stuff and can help answer all sorts of questions. If you bring in a clipping they can tell you what the plant is. They have happy hours and great sales and they also have a really classy line of decor and garden furniture

These guys are really great. I came in a while back looking for a starter house plant and the gentleman who helped me was so patient answering my questions and directing me towards the right plant. I just went back for my second plant and again, the woman who helped me was very cheerful and patient and helped me pick out another great looking one. Both of them told me everything I needed to get and what I needed to do to take care of it once I got home. You can tell that the people who work here really care and know what theyre talking about and theyre more than willing to help. Five stars!

Love this place! Were from Las Vegas, Nevada and we always stop here whenever were in town. Very friendly and helpful staff bit to mention all the flowers and plants always look perfect. Definitely worth a stop even for vacationers!

Beautiful store. I work at the store and the location is far more accessible from everywhere in San Diego. The layout is both consumer and employee friendly. The parking lot seems smaller because we had access to the huge parking lot that served all of the stores including Toys R Us, but the old parking lot was dangerous as people sped through it on their way to the storage units or road testing motor cycles for a nearby dealer or shop. On days that we anticipate crowds at the new location, employees park offsite and help in the parking lot by directing traffic and returning carts to expedite the availability of enough parking spaces.

Way over priced, and not much of a selection for a nursery. As far as fruit trees and veggies go, you can get a better selection at home Depot at half the price. When I asked yesterday why the nursery doesnt have 6 packs of veggies, only single plants at $4.49 each the sales person told me that their customers dont like to grow more than one or two tomato or pepper plants at a time, 6 is just too many for them ...What? I guess Im the farmer in the neighborhood that wants a 6 pack of tomatoes. By the way, 6 plants at home Depot is $4 or so but at Armstrong it will cost me about $27 for 6 plants.It would be one star, but I give 2 stars because they have a good selection of fertilizer.

Always a good time shopping here. They have everything I am looking for including raised bed soil, vegetables specifically designed for our area, heirloom varieties, and a friendly, knowledgeable staff. Everything I purchase flourishes. Would never shop anywhere else.

This place is my go to garden store. The staff is friendly and helpful and the plant selection is BOMB. Also they have a succulent potting bar which is literally the cutest thing ever.
