This has been our go-to place for hard to find; lightbulbs, ballasts, strip lights and fixtures, for 30 years. The staff knows what theyre doing and can not only get you what you need, but can often diagnose hard to figure out problems. Big box stores no longer carry the length bulb I needed when a kitchen backlight went out. Lightbulbs Unlimited had it in stock as well as the replacement ballast. Thanks guys!

I needed a specialized light bulb and i needed something with a different temperature than i already had. I brought my lamp with me and received excellent service, was able to switch to a different bulb (from cfl to led) and we tried a few in store to discover which one would work properly. My eyes are going to be so much happier, and i know that i wont accidentally make the lamp catch on fire because i know Im using a good alternative thanks to the excellent help i received here.

Little shop in the Morena District with some really interesting and cool lighting ideas. Staff is really helpful. If you are looking for something different, give this place a try. It isnt a huge selection, but you might find that something different here.

They seem to have a good selection of lights and fixtures, but the word unlimited is pretty misleading. I went in to find an LED bulb with a dusk-til-dawn sensor and was told that they had never seen one... I bought one over a year ago from Home Depot (who I despise).

Julian was very helpful. He steered me to the exact bulb I was looking for. He also has great travel stories to share. Excellent experience.

What an amazing experience I had at Light Bulbs Unlimited. The staff is so nice and FUN! They had me laughing before I had even stepped foot into their store. They are so knowledgeable. The owner is great and has picked a wonderful staff. I was looking for a unusual bulb and they knew exactly what I was talking about and had it in stock!!! AWESOME local store!!!

LUPE is the best. Was able to find LED Replacement for our outdoor sconces! Akso was able to find a clip cord for my Selinate Lamp for honoring the victims of 9/11.

Lights unlimited? More like limited customer service! We were straight up ignored by 2 out of 3 of your staff today. In the day and age were brick and mortar is a dying breed you think the good ol boys would step up there game. We had a pretty penny to spend but none of it will be going to you.

They have the best selection of lights and bulbs. I couldnt decide on which lamp I wanted!! Salesfloor people very patient, not bothering me so I could have the time to really think and decide for myself. Thanks guys!

Great service: fast, efficient and friendly!We had one bulb of four in our chandelier go out. It is a small halogen bulb and it was difficult to read the information about the bulb that was imprinted on it, other than it might be a Feit. We took it with us to find replacements.When we entered the store the gentleman behind the counter was quick to greet us and come to assist us. When we showed him our bulb he knew immediately what it was and informed us that he had some in stock.I asked him what they cost and he quoted an estimate, however when he checked the price it was actually $2.00 more than the quote. He instantly offered to split the difference so we ended up getting $1.00 off each bulb. It wasnt necessary, but we now know a good, honest place to go for our lighting needs.Amazon does sell the bulbs too, at the same full price he has, so we know he did very courteously give us a deal.

I have a bunch of 70s light fixtures so Im a regular at LBU. I bought some replacement CFL bulbs yesterday and it turned out they were the wrong size. So for the first time I went in for a replacement/return. No problem, no questions asked.Im having trouble with some reviews below which claim their return policy sucks. Be aware no returns allowed more than five days after purchase, its printed on your receipt. Thats fair; if it takes you more than five days to figure out you bought the wrong bulb, thats on you.

This is the best place in San Diego to get hard to find specialty lamps for a fair price. Associates are very knowledgeable.

Owner is friendly until he has to provide customer service or take a return. This store does not accept returns. Ask before you purchase or just avoid this store completely and go down the road to Lamps Plus. They have great customer service and accept returns...and do it all with a smile.

I purchased two similar bulbs one from light bulbs unlimited and one from a shop a short distance away. I paid $43 for one bulb from light bulbs unlimited and $19 from their competitors. I will use their competitor in the future.
