We had a great experience with this company moving our furniture to our new house. The virtual estimate with Sharon was quickly, easily and accurately done. Lisa, who organized the move was very responsive and knowledgeable and kept in touch over the two days of the move. The moving team sent out to us was one man short but they were knowledgeable and efficient and worked tirelessly. The move spread to a second day but Lisa was able to find reinforcements and the unloading the next day went off without a hitch. Excellent customer service, it didnt happen quite the way it was planned but they were able to roll with the situation and made it work. We will definitely use them again on our next move.

I would highly recommend Johnson Moving and Storage. My interaction w/ both Sharon and Lisa was fantastic. They showed a genuine interest in my moving needs and the schedule I was working with. The movers were both friendly and efficient on both ends of the move. A very welcome experience given the move was out of state and my daughter was responsible for receiving the delivery.

I moved from San Diego to the Midwest this summer 2021 using United Van Lines and a local agent from Johnson Moving was assigned to coordinate my move. Ive used United Van Lines before in three other cross country moves (all from California to other states) and this was by far the worst experience Ive had.Johnson movers came to pick up my boxes and furniture. They disassembled items that didnt need to be (like an office chair) and mixed screws and bolts together with different furniture which made reassembling everything a mess. They used dirty blankets that had been sitting on the ground outside my building to wrap up all of my furniture. Just really gross.Between pick up and drop off at my new location (which shouldve been two weeks), my move went missing. The Johnson agent was incredibly unhelpful, non-transparent, and frankly kind of rude about the fact that they couldnt find my move. They had a lot of excuses and took no accountability that my stuff disappeared. At one point my move was in TN and my moving number was mixed up with another move. Then after another week of waiting, my move was tracked down to their San Diego warehouse. For almost 3 weeks it was sitting in their warehouse. No one knew until I continually followed up with my agent to investigate more.My move was finally delivered another two weeks later, a full MONTH after my move was picked up in San Diego. The Johnson agent again wasnt much help in tracking down an actual delivery date. I finally had to call around to track down which United Van Lines agent had my stuff. I also called customer service to start a refund process.I realize the moving and trucking industry is short-staffed right now. I also realize that lots of people are moving right now as well. What I dont understand is untrained, unhelpful, uncaring movers/agents who are facilitating these moves. I paid over $5K to move cross country and my stuff was missing for several weeks. Thats unacceptable. I did get a partial refund, but I will not be using United Van Lines again. Ill also be letting my friends in San Diego know not to use Johnson Moving.

From the first contact with Sharon Robinson quoting the packing and moving, through the capable oversight of Lisa at the office I thought our move would be as painless as possible. I never imagined it would actually be enjoyable! But that’s what having Luis, and his crew with Polo and Havier who created a 3 day experience that was quick and professional, but also (believe it or not!) fun! Has anyone ever said a move could be fun?The guys were so fabulous. I was thrilled to give our bikes to Polo for his kids, big pots to Luis for his sister-in-law, and feel happiness with Havier on the upcoming birth of his first child. All our stuff is in storage, and I look forward to having the same crew move us in to our new home someday! Thank you!

Johnson storage and moving (united) were great. They packed my 2b/1b for around 1k, transported and stored for 6 months for about 3k and moved my half way accross the country for another 3k.They were responsive and helpful during the entire time.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS IF YOU CAN!!! They arrived with a number of ripped and torn used boxes to pack my items. See below - it’s obvious the crush rating and structural integrity of these boxes was compromised...and this company used those boxes to pack one-of-a-kind, FRAGILE items. They didn’t have enough dish packs (reinforced cardboard boxes) so I stopped the pack and was promised they would bring extra dish packs when they came to load the truck. They didn’t, so I was forced to use the old boxes to finish packing my dishware (I had to be out of my apartment that day). I asked them to handle an antique Japanese statue with extra care. Surprise surprise...it’s broken. The movers who unpacked my items on the other end said they had never seen such an unprofessional packing job. In all my years of military moves, this has been the only one where I was unsatisfied (to the point of almost tears). I made numerous calls to the company during the packout expressing my discomfort with the way things were going. The manager could not have cared less if he tried (direct quote from him: do you expect me to come out and drop off new boxes?).But hey...at least they paid for the gouge they put in a bedroom door. That deserves one star.Absolutely terrible company.

Do not use Johnson Moving and Storage! My husband and I have made several long distance moves over the years and this was by far the worst we have ever experienced. Packing us was underestimated and took two days instead of one. So the driver wasn’t happy to start. I thought two of the three packers were good but was wrong when I began unpacking. Turns out the youngest of the three (18 yrs) did the best job. Our most high dollar item was broken and pieces are missing. This is a very expensive antique and they lost pieces of it and now we can’t put it back together. My next high dollar item was an antique chair from the late 1800’s. They broke the front carved leg! It will be very difficult to repair. Boxes were not marked correctly. Things were packed that shouldn’t have been. The drivers furniture blankets were so filthy everything that came off the truck and wrapped was covered in dirt. Finally figured out it was the blankets. A month later and we have not even unpacked half our boxes. They keep pushing us for a claim. At the rate we are going it will be six months before we uncover all the damage. Now when I call the person (Janet) who was coordinating the move she does not return my phone calls. She responded by evasive email. Now we are being put off on someone else. In the beginning, the first person we met with was great but it went downhill fast from there. I doubt we will ever fully recover from this horrific experience. Nor will we recover any satisfaction from all the damage we have uncovered so far. I haven’t begun to open my China and crystal and I’m terrified what I will find.

The service was excellent! The movers on both ends were on time and professional. They were careful in the handling of my belongings and respecting my place, not banging into walls. The representative handling my move was always checking in with me about every aspect of move, which was greatly appreciated. Even very helpful with setting up my mail to be forwarded and address change. Great service from beginning to end!

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They lied the entire time, what was supposed to be a point to point move turned out to be a move to a warehouse first and then it took two moves to get it to our destination and 4 weeks. Many things damaged and its been a night mare trying to recovery and monetary loss.

The process was great from start to finish starting with my relocation consultant Roger, through the staff follow-up, crater, packer and movers. We have moved long distance several times with other companies and we have not found anyone this good. They take exceptional care when packing — all furniture is wrapped in blankets and shrink wrapped. Items are carefully boxed and packed, and the onsite team is courteous, hard working and thoughtful regarding the stress of the homeowners at the time of move out. It was not easy, but having such a great crew made the experience quite do-able. Lastly, their storage facility is secure, clean, climate controlled and state of the art. Again, I recommend Johnson Moving and Storage without any hesitation . Go with the best! Satisfied mover from Denver to Philadelphia.

My husband and i were moving from San Diego. Had a man and woman show up to pack our belongings. Long story short, pretty sure the woman stole my wedding ring. Awaiting for my claim to go through. Best moving company Ive used in 18 years of military service.

BEWARE!!!! This company was assigned to me by the military to assist in my military move. I am very displeased and upset with the quality of service received. They literally pack everything in sight without asking questions. Furthermore, my GoPro camera went missing while they were in my house and none of the movers can tell me where it is. They did not document it on my itemized list, so therefore filing a claim is now nearly impossible. So my GoPro was STOLEN and no one is trying to assist in filing a claim for my item. This company is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and I would absolutely not recommend them to anyone! BEWARE!!! Choose any other company but this one! I created this account JUST so I can leave a review on this company! Stay away.

If I could say zero stars is what I would rate.. it’s a fraud of a company that send out unprofessional people that are a different company.. NOT JOHNSON. They are extremely slow movers., they quoted me knowing I was leaving a building during Covid times.. where elevator times are slower.. as an “experienced” company they should know to calculate unforeseen times. They broke the elevator down and we’re lucky my building took care of it without saying anything to them. They couldn’t deliver within the time frame and budget agreed and are know trying to charge me more than twice as much as I had originally agreed to paid as was my budget. It’s all a scam of a company.. BE CAREFUL!! Don’t hire them

David, Wanda, and the driver and supervisor Anthony were all superb! Anthony kept me apprised of his schedule throughout the trip across country. His two guys were so polite and hard-working! Johnson moving and storage packed my house during my most recent move. The two man team of Brain and Allan were fantastic! They were great about being in touch when they were on their way, and were incredibly professional. I was blown away by how quickly and efficiently they packed. They did my 10000lbs of stuff in just under 5 hours! It was my best packing experience in the last 17 years. Highly recommended!

Really super friendly. The two gentlemen who came to pack our stuff did an excellent job. Not only were they careful but they were considerate. They made time for my questions and didnt pack things I didnt want packed and packed the things I wanted packed. From the original estimator and packers in CO to Wanda Valadez in CA who graciously coordinated arrangements to Patrick Cain who did the actual delivery in ME - all provided outstanding support and professionalism each step of the way. I have moved many times and all have been mediocre at best. Johnson Storage & Moving (United) has been far superior to any I have used. Whether it was Personal, Military or the Railroad Johnson is the company I would choose over and over again if I could go back in time. Sharon, Wanda, Javier & Edgar never left me with questions. They kept me informed from beginning to end. They were kind and compassionate! I lost my husband 1 month ago so everything felt so out of place and confusing, they helped a lot with clarifying what was happening and when. I give them a High 5! Overall great experience. Our moving coordinator was fantastic and incredibly helpful. Our only issue was the packers did not come with enough boxes for some items and missed items that had to be pointed out during final walk through.

Very professional and well organized from start to finish. There were no hidden costs. The full price is presented up front and that is what you will pay. Everyone involved was great. Our personal property was delivered and in our case was stored. When we finally got around to moving the furniture and belongings into the house there was not one thing damaged or broken. A job well done. We would highly recommend this company for your move.

My move from Southern California to Denver was made all the more easy by the terrific folks at Johnson! From the initial estimator, to my coordinator, to my super cool driver, it was a positive experience. Johnson Storage and Moving did a great job for me on my recent move. I understand moving is a very tough job and many things can go array, but start to finish the move went well. Sharon Robinson was the sales agent and she definitely went out of her way the make sure all my questions were answered and delivered boxes and paper for me to pack some of my own things prior to the move. The two men worked hard especially since there were a lot of confusing issues...some of my stuff went to my new address and some of it went into their storage. I had a lot of my own boxes tagged to make things run smoother. Bottom line is moving is difficult to say the least but this company did a great job.

This company is the worst. They forgot to pick up our stuff the day we were moving across the country. If I never called them they would have not showed up. They then showed up at 2:00 in the afternoon. Talk about unwanted stress. The movers ruined our furniture. Everyone in this company is in a big rush. I want to put no stars because they do not have integrity but it would not let me. Please choose someone else for your move you dont need any added stress.

I’m in the marines. The military movers contracted them. They decided to pack my wet paint and ant traps with my clothes and pictures. That’s just one of the many horrific things they did.

This was the first time I used a moving company. Nimai Plouffe, Wanda Valadez, Robert Griffith, and the other gentlemen who packed, loaded, and unloaded were very helpful. They kept me informed and answered questions in a timely manner. Thank you.

Horrible customer service on the phone. Movers OPENLY SAID they didnt want to be packing and the job they did showed. Couch is broken. Katana packed in a box marked TOYS. One of a kind painting in a box with a sharp metal pole! I wouldnt recommend this company to my worst enemy! DO NOT USE!

Old antique furniture broke. Handmade chairs broke, painting ripped. Sorry excuse for movers. Ill never use a moving company again. They all treat your things like trash. They just throw your things in piles after unloaded at warehouse.

Please do not use this company for your move. This is my first review ever for anything but I have never been this mistreated by a company and feel the need to warn others about them in order to avoid the endless frustration and monetary losses this company has imposed. Unprofessional, incompetent and down right criminal. They were involved in my seventh move with the military. Johnson Moving and Storage was responsible, by far, for the most lost, stolen and damaged items compared with the six prior moves combined. Johnson Moving was assigned as the origination mover/packer as part of our most recent military move from San Diego to Jacksonville last June (2018). The packers/movers Johnson sent to our home and storage unit failed to inventory multiple high value items which I did not notice during their unorganized, inefficient and haphazard packing/moving of our household goods. In retrospect, this appears to have been purposeful in order to steal these items with no paper trail. I would have chalked these lost items up to carelessness but among the lost/stolen items was a high value Gibson Les Paul guitar that was packed in a wardrobe box from a prior move and had remained in our storage unit. Johnson packers opened every box in storage to “inventory” the contents and then resealed all the boxes. Apparently, they caught sight of the guitar which I had forgotten to add to the list of high value items. Guess what didn’t show up in the wardrobe box at our new home. I had that guitar for 20 years which was a gift from my now deceased father. All the other “lost” items were loose such as a large RTIC brand cooler, chairs, etc. so it would be possible for someone to miss them since they weren’t inventoried. Maybe I could have written this off as incompetence based on that fact but someone would have had to reopen the wardrobe box, remove the guitar, and tape it back up in order for the guitar to go “missing.” Johnson moving personnel also moved my motorcycle which they didn’t inventory, damaged and removed parts from which were subsequently “lost.” Frankly, I’m suprised it showed up at all since it wasn’t properly inventoried, just scribbled at the bottom of an otherwise unreadable inventory list. They even managed to lose most of the hardware for two different bed frames so we were forced to sleep on a mattress (also torn by the movers) on the floor until I could find all the proper sized bolts, nuts, and screws to reassemble them. These were just the most egregious of the lost and damaged items. I would be writing for hours describing all the damages and losses imposed my this company and their personnel. They are responsible for multiple thousands of dollars of damages and lost goods. To top it off, the shipping company, Day Transfer, is refusing to pay for a large majority of the damages due to Johnson’s shoddy inventory. This move and the process of trying to recover the damages imposed by Johnson Moving has been one of the most frustrating and drawn out processes I have ever been involved with. The move was in June 2018 and it is now February 2019 as of the writing of this review. I am still going back and forth with the shipping company for damages and have yet to receive a dime. If I had the time, I would take them to court. Please save yourself the time and trouble. Do not accept Johnson Moving (or Day Transfer) as your mover. No customer deserves this type of treatment from a company. Disgraceful that the military would waste taxpayers’ money paying companies such as this. They don’t deserve to do business with anyone and their employees should be charged for theft. Ridiculous.
