I was referred to Arman Fine Rugs by the owner of Karen’s Consignments in Point Loma. When I asked him to be on the lookout for a fine Persian rug for my house, without skipping a beat he said something like, “Just go to Arman Fine Rugs. They have the best selection and pricing and take excellent care of customers.” Having now purchased from them I could not agree more on all three fronts. Selection: When I first walked in I was a bit intimidated by the sheer volume of rugs they had stacked everywhere in terms of how was I possibly going to sift through these. Arman’s wife Mona was there to put me at ease. After a pleasant conversation about what I was looking for. Being a total novice in Persian rugs (but a huge fan) I just showed her a few Instagram photos that caught my eye. And from there, Mona pulled out her laptop and very efficiently scrolled me through photographs of the inventory further narrowing my like and dislikes within my size requirement into a list of about fifteen rugs. From there we narrowed it to about ten. She emailed those to me (about three images per rug: full, mid, and close-up view) which I shared with my partner and designer for further distillation. At the same time, I conducted a thorough online search of online vendors around the world. Again, Arman Fine Rugs was a top contender both in selection and price, and we found a rug that we absolutely love at a beyond fair price (I paid $2k and the insurance appraisal came in at $4.5k) . Next, we went to the store to view the rug, purchased it and brought it home. Arman and Mona could not have been more of a pleasure to be work with. I really enjoyed the whole process. It turns out they have been in business in San Diego for like 25 years – first Downtown and, as of about three years ago at their ultra-cool spot in the back of Klassic used furniture store in the design section of N. Little Italy. Arman is from Azerbaijan which I learned is the historic epicenter of beautiful rugs where he works directly with a network of pickers throughout Iran with whom he has worked with to bring supply directly from individual seller’s homes thus bypassing the bazar. It was a very cool experience buying from Arman and Mona and the rug I purchase is one of the favorite items I have in my home. I recommend them highly.

I should have posted this sooner. Arman’s service was the best. I was given an honest consultation on a rug I was considering buying elsewhere but went with Arman due to the way I was treated there when looking at what they had and speaking with the owners.I now have a beautiful rug I got at a great price and would go back anytime.

I never thought buying a rug could be this much fun. My wife and I recently purchased a beautiful Nahavandi rug from this shop, and had a great experience doing so! We had an idea of what size we wanted, but that was pretty much it. Mona helped us. She was friendly and was conscious of our budget. She and Arman showed us tons of different rugs. There was no pressure to buy - which I appreciated. They are both really knowledgeable. It was fun to learn about the origin, style, and characteristics of the rugs. We narrowed it down to our favorites, and she let us take them home to try out in our space. We took our time deciding, and landed on the perfect one. Thanks so much!!
