Avoid at all costs! My battery died, the manager would not let his staff help me replace it. I did my best to change it out, parked next to a homeless camp, wreaking of urine, with 3 children in the car waiting. I changed out the battery, however, one of the screws was stripped and stuck. He refused to let his staff even look at my engine. He knew I was retired military, driving through SF on my way home.I locked the car, ran to the nearest service station and asked a mechanic to help me. He was wonderful—thank you Pepe’s Auto Repair on SW Van Ness!!! Never again will I go to an autozone.

Left my lights on and drained my battery. Not the best way to start the day on an otherwise beautiful Sunday morning. After getting my car jump started, I wanted to have the battery checked to make sure it was still good. I was hesitant to turn the car, off so I called them first to make sure they could provide the service, and give me another jump start if necessary. Jason answered the phone, confirmed that they could, and told me to come on down. Jason, even though it was the end of his shift, was patient, courteous, and very helpful. He took my battery out, charged it, and confirmed the battery was fine. In addition, they checked my alternator and starter and confirmed the same. There was no charge for the service, even without making a purchase. Shout out to Jason (who normally works out of the Richmond store), and AutoZone, for their excellent customer service. Made the best out of a stressful situation. When the time comes for a new battery, I know where Im going.

Advertise free battery testing but I get there and they say they cant do it because their machine is broken so they sent me to another location. Which didnt have the machine at all. That store recommended I either drive around and try to find another AutoZone that could test my battery or use OReilly down the street. I went with that option and bought my battery from them.

I don’t remember his name, but the assistant store manager went definitely above & beyond for us today. Thanks to his kindness he saved us a lot of money, and was so helpful with everything. Definitely will go back just for how we were treated!

Due to the fact I got there slightly late and with 15 minutes to spare before they closed I was able to ask a few questions and needless to say I was able to accomplish a couple things and well have to take care of the rest another day... They were out of a lot of things related to headlight headlamps light bulbs and fixtures and wires a little disappointing nevertheless understood stock is hot

The 2 stars raring is not directed against the employees who served me today (09-05-2020). The company has programmed their computers to charge you a core deposit fee of $18, you are refunded this money when you bring back the old replaced battery. That core deposit is taxed, but when you return the old battery, only $18 are refunded. That means they keep $1.53 or your money. They kept my money.This is not much but this is stealing. We have to stop this. Imagine buying something from a store and once you return it, they do not refund the payment amount. That means you cant buy a similar item with the credited money.We love to pay taxes when we use taxable goods by the same token we want to get our taxed refund in full amount if we return the goods. If you have experienced this at this store or any similar practices somewhere, please write about it and we can mount a class action against them. We have the means!

I went there got my parts and I thought I bought the wrong lights but the employee Manwell who works at the AutoZone on ceasar Chavez and south Van ness came outside and reassured me I bought the right one and he put my bulbs in for me and was very very nice and helpful. I recommend that location to EVERYONE!!!

Bad experience, very upset a person came to me, asked if I already paid the things in my plastic bag, I told him this items I bought to OReilly auto parts I showed him the receipt that purchase containing in the bag, he went back and doesnt say sorry for illegal searching in my plastic bag, I will never ever come back in this store

Most stress Ive been in my hole life. Made up a policy and my partner had to argue until they swapped a battery he bought. Idk who that clerk was but it looked like they were about to fight but finally didnt.

AutoZone in SF is AWESOME! They have everything you need here, and the location is great. Go into the store rather than calling. They are busy and in demand so be patient if needed.The employees are helpful and knowledgeable. I have dealt with Angel, David, Kamron, Michael, Bill and Gabriel. They are all great!I want to give a special compliment to both Kamron and David. These two are exceptional. They are the most friendly and are so kind, smart, incredibly competent and absolutely fantastic at their jobs!👍🏻

I had to get some gas and theres an autozone across the street from one of the cheaper stations in the city on south vaness and Cesar Chavez. I Needed some fuel injector cleaner and a new air filter. I stopped by and easily found both items. I used the autozone website to find out the right air filter by using location i was able to see the stock number and that it was in stock in the location. I found it without the need to ask a representative but everytime I have gone into the store with questions the staff answered in an informative and friendly manner.

Bought wind shield wipers. The guy was very patient and helped me find want I needed. Offered to put them on ( while in the rain). Incredible customer service.

Had the parts pulled and waiting also took the extra time to help me find and understand the options available.

The customer service was great. The employees were answering questions, and helping customers with there automotive needs. The gentleman made sure I purchased the correct oil for my car.

They didnt have what I needed in stock. They also said their system couldnt tell them if they had it stocked in the back.

To clarify, AutoZone is a parts store; they cannot do repairs, a hard lesson my friends and I learned when our car had issues and needed to pull off to the nearest place. However, their free services really helped - they checked our vehicle, charged our car battery, diagnosed that the issue was with the car alternator, and found the parts we needed in a nearby affiliate. These were all instrumental in getting us to a nearby repair shop to fix the car. Id definitely come to them for advice and help again.

I made my purchase online, when I got to pick it up, nothing I ordered was in the store. I made a new complete purchase but the person who was helping me charged me for a part and the system went down. They could not void my money, they informed me to call the bank. My purchase lasted 45 min due to a bad transaction made by the person who attended me. what a bad service

The employees are very knowledgeable of auto parts and repair and do offer equipment to test your vehicles computer for actual diagnosis of car problem and they offer a variety of the needed parts, cost and print the estimates out if your not ready. The place is very user friendly, truthful and seek to truly address and fix any automobile, motorcycle repair.

They didnt borrow me the second tool they said you have to buy the second one you are asking for many tools. I ASKED FOR ONLY TWO TOOLS a 10 mm socket and a 3/8 extension . Also said people usually dont change the spark plugs here!! It is Hyundai elantra so easy and fast to change the spark plugs!!!

Terrible service. Called the day before coming in to confirm that I could replace my battery at this location as advertised. This is a lie. I purchased my battery, and as I arrived, I was met by a garrolous, rude man who refused to help me with installation as promised. No help, no recommendations for other shops, just rude demeanor and shooing me out of the store. Save your time and go to the AutoZone in South San Francisco. The workers there were extremely helpful and friendly and confirmed the SF AutoZone workers actions were against policy and simply due to laziness.

I had to write a review about this place, because its been twice now that Ive gone into buy something, and a worker offered to help me replace it in my car. Last night, it was a fuse for my radio and before that a brake light. There were a great help to me.

Staff needs to be knowledgeable. One of the man had no idea what I wanted and had to explain and basically had to help him to get me the right item. And there was another guy, who was too nosy, kept blaming me for things I cant control about my car.

Really bad. Ive been coming here for years, not because I want to, but because it is the only place around. Unknowledgeable and LAZY staff. The other day, a manager lied and said they couldnt help me with a simple, very common battery. Meanwhile, his employees where hanging up on customers that where calling in. There are always 4 people working here, but you will be waiting in line no matter if they are busy are not. If there is one customer, all 4 employees ignore you. If there are 4 customers, all 4 employees get annoyed that they have to work.

They didnt have anything I needed, not even a squegee. And I always shop at AutoZone! 😕

I have been in alot of AutoZones and this one is pretty horrible.... Parking lot is a mess.... The staff had a hard time with a very simple request.... This is also the only auto parts store I have ever been in the didnt have a USB adapter for the lighter port.... Really???

Service is good so far. Only thing I’d say is the outside looks dated and a little dirty.
