When a special kind of meat I wanted was not available at Gus’s Market, the butcher suggested to go to La Gallinita Meat Market. Even though I do not speak Spanish, but with few gestures, I got the choice meat for a special occasion from knowledgeable and friendly butcher.The place is unassuming, yet that experience will bring me back to here in the future.

We just get some tamales from this place, and we get sick, are heavy in fat and not flavor tested horrible I will not come back again 😖😖😖😖😖

Was here on a good tour through the Mission and the owner was engaging and extremely helpful. The fact that he does his own butchering means you can get whatever cut you want, how you want it.Had the cecina and chorizo tacos, as well as the ciccharones, and really enjoyed all of it. Will be back.

Aug 14 2021I have been a customer for 13 years we liked to buy here. However, last Sunday we bought $ 60 dls of meat, we prepared 4 portions for dinner and the meat was very bad, it tasted terrible, we called the owner on Wednesday to explain and let him know that they gave us a meat that was already in bad condition. The owner said to return the meat and he would give us the money back, obviously due to work hours we could not take it during the week we returned it today. (It should be noted that we never asked for the money 💰 the man was the one who said it. So today I was able to bring him the meat so that he doesnt think I was eating it and that he only wanted the money.But the owner was very rude. He said that he could no longer sell that meat because he had not taken it from the Wednesday that I called he wanted to continue selling 😑 now I saw one more of a woman who says they sold me rotten meat if it was also my case. I just want to let you know that if it happens to you, the man is going to be very rude. But I hope to contact the inspectors so that at least one day they check the meat, not just the refrigerators. If someone else has experiences, how are you, please let them know?
