The tea spot that hand crafts their own boba and tea. Here @teamaru.us you can get the freshest milk tea that topped with hand-made boba. I got myself the Uji Matcha Latte, Kiwi Citrus Breeze, and the signature Maru Milk. All are great options and you can’t go wrong with homemade boba. Definitely a must try.
The basic signature milk tea is hands down the best boba Ive ever had in my life. The hint of cheese foam makes such a huge difference its unlike anything Ive had I cant have enough of this place
Great ice coffee and breakfast cresonts. Donuts are excellent and friendly service.
Everyone told me this place was really good so I decided to try it! Besides the fact that they messed up my order, the boba was an odd texture and the tea was lacking in flavor. I got 25% sweetness and it was still way too sweet. My friend ordered the cheese foam boba and to be plain, it tasted bad. We both threw our drinks away after the first few sips. Maybe we came on a bad day but for the price I think I’d rather go somewhere else.
The strawberry boba was just a big pile of mush. Avoid the strawberry boba.
They have delicious housemade boba! The Maru Milk with brown sugar boba is out of this world and with the whole coronavirus situation they offer contactless ordering which is awesome. The staff are friendly. You should go just to try the boba itself ( they have a various flavors) and you will be able to see what good boba taste like :)
Tea Maru was my favorite boba place for years until I found out they pay some of their workers as little as $10.50 and hour, which is the starting wage for trainees. The drinks taste cheap just like their labor. There are plenty of boba places around that pay workers at least minimum wage. Do better!
Great boba and fresh and soft. Milk tea was amazing too. Great balance of tea and milk. Even though the boba was fresh, I love brown sugar boba more.
Best boba Ive ever had!All the drinks and boba seem naturally flavored and colored which is the most important thing for me when choosing a placeThe boba pearls themselves are the perfect firmness for me and the drinks Ive tried were all more flavorful than any other boba place that Ive been too.
Had the mango matcha with strawberry boba and sub soymilk, and a house milk tea with brown sugar boba. Both very tasty, seems like they use Asian-style soymilk so you get more soy flavor which I personally quite like. The strawberry boba was a bit more soft and chewy compared to regular boba but Im not a big fan of regular boba to begin with so it seemed good to me.The house milk tea and brown sugar boba had a very nice caramel-like flavor (likely the brown sugar).Felt a little pricy overall but seems worth it for the quality.
I come here often. The service is fast and drinks are pretty good most of the time. I really love their strawberry matcha milk drink.
I love their Taro fresh milk with sweet potato boba. I have never seen this drink anywhere else. The taro is not powder taro.
This place completely ruined boba for me. It is so good that now when I hit up any other boba shop I cant help but think that this place is better.
Tv panels and menus taken down, various teas not in stock so they are closing soon.
Boba has a mochi consistency.
With all the options brimming in the area, its hard to differentiate them all. Tea Maru manages to bring to the table fresh in-house boba with good tasting drinks to top it off. They had good options for matcha based drinks.
I absolutely love this place. Has amazing boba and workers here have a nice attitude.
Fantastic place. Their boba is made fresh right in front of you. Their standard milk tea and Uji matcha drinks are spectacular. The boba is always soft and tasty. My recent favorite is the grapefruit drink with sweet potato boba. Omg its good. Service is quick, and its always easy to find good parking.
Fancy boba tea place that offers many boba selections such as the regular black boba, the purple sweet potato boba, and black sesame boba. Service is friendly but a bit slow on a Saturday night. Some drinks are one size L only. Limited hot drink availability. It offers door dash delivery service but selection is limited.
Fast friendly and knowledgeable. Can accommodate diabetics
Please have employees be aware of what the drink ticket says! Other people on here just complain or say nothing about experience when you ask them to do the job. They would all fail! When doing a job you do it in order not just however you want. The experience has everything to do with the care you take when doing your job. But then again we live in a world of selfish people.
Locally made boba is better quality than the previously made, frozen, imported and thawed from who knows where.
Love the boba.
First time tried this Boba tea place! Tried one of their popular drinks posted by the wall. Tastes great, less sweet as per our request. Friendly customer service! The only problem goes to this place is their very limited parking space especially during busy hours and the weekends. Suggestion: try find parking by the small street around the area if you want to go to this place!
Boba is ok. They have a special in house boba that taste slightly fruitier and chewier than classic tapioca, but I wouldnt say theyre better. Some balls are slightly grainy. I tried the crushed ice strawberry drink and the matcha cheese foam drink. Theyre overpriced based on the quality of the drinks. The strawberry and cheese foam flavors are not strong enough, nor is the drink creamy enough to make up for that. There are plenty of better quality places that offer drinks at a much lower price.
I was in the area and decided to pop in.Customer Service:Very friendly. The cashier girl let me taste the boba. Also, I didnt feel rushed at the counter, which I hate feeling rushed.Quality:The boba is Housemade and you can really taste the difference. The quality of the tea and the boba ate great. Not sure if the tea is powdered but it taste brewed! The boba is sweet which is nice. Sometimes, boba tastes like nothing. There was a good variety of boba flavors. The only reason this place didnt get a 5 star is because it lacked other topping options such as: egg pudding, red bean, etc. What Did I Order?Dairy Free:I got the milk tea and luckily, they had a dairy-free option! This drink was refreshing and light. My boyfriend got the handmade taro milk tea with sweet potato boba. This drink was so delicious, creamy with bits of taro or sweet potato in it! Perfect amount of sweetness. Didnt have to modify the % of sweetness.
Picked the wrong day to come by. It was a super long line because it was their 1 year anniversary. They were have a buy one get one free boba tea.I ordered a grapefruit boba tea with their sweet 🥔 boba. I also tried their matcha 🥛 tea with 🍓 boba. Their matcha had minimal matcha tea flavor. Their grapefruit tea I could barely taste the tea.
Wonderful drinks and the taste is great. (Recommended)
Excellent Boba place. They make their own, and in many different flavors. Certainly in the top ten of Los Angeles County. Remember some drinks both have fruit added and syrup, so be sure to clarify to get the right sweetness. This location is probably the best location of tea maru, and has more parking and seating available.
I liked the icecream tea. I got black tea and added lychee jelly. At first i thought the drink was supposed to be eaten separately from the drink but I mixed it in. It was pretty good.
I loved the green tea latte so much! The tea flavor was so floral and refreshing and good! The texture of the homemade boba was delicious. Love that they have so many different flavors to offer. Customer service was so awesome even for such a huge order!
I love their honey oolong latte with oat milk! I ask for less milk for a stronger tea taste and 75% sugar. My perfect drink.
Good stuff.
Yeehaw!
Boba is not bad but nothing special, the tea flavors was kind of bland and the evaporated milk is honestly horrendous in flavor with no thiccness that you would want to pair with the boba pearls.
The drinks are a bit more expensive here as the better quality and taste comes at a premium, but its worth it. Personally, I enjoy the Maru Milk with Brown Sugar and boba which is simply so silky smooth and heart-warmingly sweet that you wont realize most of its already in your stomach. The employees are nice and patient enough to guide you to a drink youll enjoy.
Very good boba. They make their own boba. I recommend the Maru milk with brown sugar boba
The boba quality has gone down, they are too soft and not as Q as they should be.Management turn the volume of the music down. If I cant hear anything while visiting your store that means the music is too loud. Feels like I just exited a Vegas club after waiting 20 minutes for my drink. Also maybe change up the music to not include F bombs when little kids are around.
Had the kiwi tea with mango boba and it was great. Would definitely come back and try other flavors
The Okinawa tea is my favorite! Love the roasted brown sugar flavor and theyre both is consistently soft with a slight sweetness. If you sign up via email, there are plenty of coupons from 25% to 50% off all the way to buy one get one free. The young people that work there are pretty helpful :-)
Great boba, nice drinks, good workers. The only issue is their round bottom cups that are unstable. In fact, mine tilted and spilled. Please change those cups because it is silly to have cups that barely stand!
I used to go to sharetea all the time in Berkeley and was so happy to find one here. Quiet and clean when I went. I always get the handmade taro milk--it has real taro chunks in it! Its really sweet though, so next time Ill ask for less sugar. Yum!!!
Really fresh boba. Reminds me of Taiwan. Coming back to try more varieties
Great drinks
Very fast and friendly service. Great value too with the breakfast menu and boba drinks! You simply cant go wrong...
Five star
It’s hard to find new boba places because most of the time it’s the same book with different cover. However at Tea-Maru you’ll find yourself with a variety of amazing options. They have 5 different flavors of boba to choose from. They take the time to make sure every cup comes out perfect. 5 stars.
Try their Maru milktea. Its THE milkiest milk tea Ive ever had. Very rich and creamy tasting with perfectly sweetened and textured boba. They make their own boba in-house with this cool machine thats fun to watch. The prices are reasonable, around $5 something for a large. They also use 5 Star so its easy to keep track of points and earn free drinks.
My favorite boba spot in the Alhambra/Pasadena area. Drinks overall have a good flavor and the drinks arent too sweet. Parking in the lot is usually a lost cause, but the small shopping center abuts a residential area and you can always find parking on the side streets the shopping center sits between.
The freshly made boba and taste of Tea Marus teas are miles better than the freshly made boba and teas from One Zo.
Great little tea chain from Taiwan. The quality is comparable to the stores in Taipei that we went to.Since their drinks are made to order, this place can get busy on weekend nights and even some weekdays as well. There are card games and plenty of tables to hang around
Great boba texture and sweetness. I got the signature kiwi fruit tea and it was on point with kiwi seeds and flavor.
I love that they get what unsweetened and low sugar means. Doesnt matter who makes my drink and its lovely to hear them say the flavor might change without the sugar. Truth is for me, the flavor is there! Consistently this location has soft boba and yummy unsweetened drinks. We really like the ginger, honey and matcha milk tea!
Its great, you should try kiwi citrus breeze and taro milk tea with sweet potato boba, so good~
Love this place! I always get the Tea Maru Latte. It automatically comes with an assortment of homemade boba (my fave is strawberry). I usually do half sweet or lower at most boba places but here I get 75%. They put less sugar in than most places which I appreciate.Ive tried the brown sugar drink as well and its very yummy! Reminds me of cereal milk with boba hahaPlenty of parking because theyre in a lot but if it fills up, theres residential parking on the side streets. Theres a good amount of seating too so this is a good place to catch up with friends or work. Definitely try!
The Maru Maru is so creamy and sweet! The decaffeinate makes it so you can barely taste the tea! Good job!
The boba is great.. very soft and chewy, but the milk is a little too creamy and sweet. I would recommend 75% sweetness. The drink is expensive too. I got Maru milk with brown sugar boba for $5.75 and to me, it’s a little overpriced. The place is cute and it has a spot for u to take pictures of your drink with a cute background
Gotta add on to my previous review. Recently ordered the taro milk with sweet potato boba because my friend recommended it. It is soooo good here! It is now my favorite drink ever. They use real taro so there are taro chunks in it. The boba was consistently still delicious as it was the last time I went. I got regular sweetness and it wasnt too sweet. It was perf! This is my go-to drink from now on.
Very tasting refreshing good hot day
Got the medium Maru Milk with Brown Sugar Boba for $4.75. It was pretty good but they didnt even fill it all the way to the top of the cup! Not cool. The Uji Matcha Cheese Foam was also pretty okay. I really like the design of the cup though.
Lots of choices for customization for your drink from the sweetness to the boba flavor. Had nice flavors.
A small shop that wasnt so crowded. however their milk tea are actually better than half and half and a lot of other places!
Loved the Maru Brown Sugar Boba Tea, its non caffeinated, but still super good! It has the cheese foam, very delicious tasted like cheesecake
One of the more interesting boba places Ive been to! They have a pretty cozy and spacey place to hangout with friends inside and you can take pictures on their artistically painted wall. They also made their boba from scratch! Which you rarely see in other boba places. They have 4 different flavoured boba if Im not mistaken, and they made that themselves. I tried their Okinawa brown sugar milk tea, and that was bomb! Price is more on the pricey side though, purchased a large for $5.99. Still, over all, I think they are worth visiting!
I never in store, I ordered from doordash, I think one is turn bad
Good tea plus fresh made boba creates delicious drink and thats how good their drink is.
This place is nothing compared to half and half. The drink was plain and powdery. Straberry boba was bitter and black sugar boba was hard. If you want real boba, go to half and half instead.
Amazing hand craft boba and i highly recommend Maru milktea.
Bright spot to do work. I like the kiwi with aiyu half sweet. Usually not crowded.
I came here during their grand opening. They were offering buy 1 get 1 drink all daylong. There was a line and long wait to pickup the drink. Despite they having a lot of staff that day.Their drink price is $4 to $4.50 I believe. They had variety of drink and has picture so make it easier to order. The drink tea are quite weak, all the drink that day seem to be watered-down. The boba were alright but there aint honey one that some competition were using it.
Iced Taro Latte with Sweet Potato Boba is my new favorite drink. Not too sweet, real taro bits swirling around, and a wonderful springy texture to the warm boba. They offer a couple different flavors of boba but I have only tried the Sweet Potato Boba and Sesame. If you are going with one of the recommended drinks, Id suggest sticking with the boba they already included. Although I felt the Sesame tasted better than the Sweet Potato, the Sweet Potato matched better with the Iced Taro Latte. Dont forget to sign up for Fivestars to get 25% off your first order.
Im obsessed with this place! The Maru Milk with brown sugar boba is my favorite, the boba tastes so fresh and soft but chewy at the same time! The Uji Matcha cheese foam is great too! staff is really nice
Excellent boba and a nice job on the fun flavors! Opens officially on 10/13/2018. I like that they make their own boba and that its flavored. Millennials are always looking for fresh and fun nowadays. You can walk away with boba for about $5-6 which seems to be new normal.
We ordered 3 drinks-oolong tea with orange boba, milk tea with Taro, grapefruit drink with black sugar boba. What a disappointment! Only oolong Tea is ok, the other drinks taste off balance and boba has no flavor.
Blended Milk Tea with Pearl was really good (1/4 Sugar)
Really intriguing drinks with a unique and different take on the traditional boba place!
Ash Ketchum is jealous of this place because its the very best like no one ever was. Drinks fresher than subway and staff friendlier than Chick-fil-A. The way they present their drinks, Id call them onion Boba. So pretty it makes me wanna cry. Flavors just like Californias residents; Hella diverse. Quantity is what you count, quality is what you count on and this place is just, --Mmmmmmm! For reals tho, drinks Hella good im considering dropping viagra into it so it lasts longer.
Amazing drinks and consistent everytime. My go to place.
The drinks from this place is not good at all. All I taste is sugar not much depth in flavor. When I drink boba I like to take into account the quality if the teas, milk etc. but I just taste purely sugar. The boba is supposed to be fresh and made in house but for some reason, I don’t like the texture of the boba. It seems overly soft and sticky that the boba balls were stuck to each other and I could not sip them in through the straw because it is just a big clump at the bottom of the cup.The only good thing about this place is that it has big tables and outlets for studying. Otherwise, I much rather go to Labobatory in the complex next door. Drinks are so much better.
Cant say anything bad about sharetea. Their drinks are delicious and staff is always really nice.
Go to the other plaza down the st, better drinks .
Great drinks to pick from. Look forward to going back
They have great tea drinks and my favorite...boba.
Excellent
Great place to study and drink boba.I have been here two times and each time was fairly dead (which is good since I have heard it gets really crowded on certain times of the day).I like how they have plenty of outlets for laptop and phone chargers.I ordered the oolong milk tea which was on the top of their recommendations on the sign. It was good blend of tea flavor and milk. I got it at 50% sugar since I didnt want the subtle tea flavor to get overpowered by sugar.I would come here again since its a nice spot with free wifi, large amounts of space and clean tabletops.
Sometimes they can be slow and they got rid of the $2 special but still overall a good option for boba and the drinks are quite tasty.
Even though I’ve probably had better boba and milk tea at other Sharetea locations, in giving this location five stars due to the superb service and the good working attitude that the employees of this location displays.
Good wifi junkie spot. Plenty of seats, and outlets. Drinks are $4+, okay drinks. Wifi is decent but not great.
I like their fresh milk taro drink.
Interesting and good teas, I like the kiwi tea the best.
Employees are nice and always keeping the shop clean, drink are good
Sharetea is finally open in the SGV! I have been waiting for this place to open for a long time, and the minute I heard it was open, I went with a few of my friends to try their soft opening specials.Sharetea is located in the El Pollo Loco plaza in place of Piece of Cake Café. Its in the plaza adjacent to Golden Deli and Benten Ramen. I thought the parking would be tough, but there were lots of open spaces when we got there around 8 PM.The storefront is welcoming and well lit. Lots of brightly lit signs displaying their popular drinks. And plenty of tables to sit and chat with friends. As they are still figuring out the kinks and problems, they have an advertised soft opening special where if you check in on Yelp, you have a choice of any 5 pre-selected drinks for only $2. On that particular day, the drinks were quite intriguing so my friends and I ended up buying a lot of tea. But hey, you only live once, right! The workers are very nice and seem to be learning the hang of things. There were still some big mistakes that were made, but after the workers were notified, the mistakes were quickly rectified.Taro Blended Ice with Egg Pudding - I really, really enjoyed this drink. I added mini boba for an extra $0.50, which I thought was worth it because there wasnt too much pudding in the drink. But there was a ton of boba, which I really liked! The taro was blended to be very fluffy and sweet (despite the 80% sugar). I loved the taste and even though it was sweet, could still taste a hint of taro. My sister, who is not a fan of taro, took a sip without knowing what it was and really liked it as well!Herb Jelly Milk (black) Tea - I ordered this with mini boba as well. They actually forgot to add the herb jelly in, but after I let them know, I was given the herb jelly on the side. I really enjoyed the drink. I could really taste the flavor of the tea, and I loved the smoothness of it. And with the mini boba, which were on point, this was probably the best drink. My friend ordered this drink as well, but it came with the salted cream mixed in, which resulted in her drink becoming salty and strange. The owner, I believe, personally fixed it and made sure that it was to her liking, which I thought was really nice.Oolong Tea Crema - I like the idea of the drink. I really like milk cream and Hokkaido creams, but the cream on top of the oolong tea tasted completely different from what I am used to. First, the oolong was not pure oolong tea, which other tea places have. Instead, they use an oolong milk tea, which is already sweet and doesnt have too much tea flavor. When sipped with the cream on top, the consistency was really strange and the flavor really weird. So I mixed the drink, but there was this salty taste throughout the drink that didnt sit well with me. Not a fan of this tea.Overall, definitely will be back to try more drinks and learn which is my favorite. Prices are not too bad, and they only have one size (which is a large!). And there is no minimum for credit card, which I really like! And its great that you can customize your drinks with amount of ice and sweetness and toppings. Will be back ... very soon!Came back to try some more of their special $2 drinks:Passion Fruit Green Tea - the best out of the three. Had good flavor and wasnt too syrup-y.Homemade Taro with Fresh Milk - Yeck, tasted horrible. Had no flavor at all and I couldnt taste any taro. Flavorless milk basically.Hokkaido Pearl Milk Tea - was a bit powdery, but had more taste than the homemade taro drink. Not enough flavor and not sweet enough.
