A place with positive vibes and good coffee. The servers are super friendly. Expect a crowd on weekends. Wish they had more seating space. Art work is lovely.The hazelnut mocha is a special and it’s good though a tad bit too sweet. They have a bunch of non dairy milk options. Their Golden waffles are nice albeit simply fresh and fluffy waffles served with syrup and butter. Their chocolate chip cookies are nice too.

This might be one of my favorite places in San Jose. The wall art that features local artists, the friendly staff, and cute decor was just the first sign that this place was going to be amazing.I had the celebration latte, described as a “birthday cake” in a cup, and it was easily better than all of my childhood birthdays. Chuck E Cheese at age 10 with my 2 friends was pretty awesome, not gonna lie, but this latte is way, way better and I’m not afraid to admit it.If you can get a seat upstairs next to the art, it’s a perfect place to do some reading, writing (hello there), dating, drawing, you name it.

I love this place! The vibe is super chill and the staff are friendly. I especially love the selection of lattes like the Honey Lavender latte and Sweet Potato latte. And they have some vegan options for food and sweet treats! You can stop in for a few minutes to pick up your order or stay a while in their colorfully decorated, comfortable seating areas. Either way youll experience all the right vibes.

Came for a morning coffee meeting and was greeted by an amicable, effervescent barista. Ordered a fantastic dirty chai tea latte (they double-cupped so I could grasp the cup comfortably without asking). Enjoyed the ambiance indoors as they have a mezzanine hanging over part of the ground floor with vibrant colors throughout. As we were sipping our drinks sitting outside, we had a staff person approach us to inquire if we needed anything else and if our coffee was good (this is the first time I have had this happen, anywhere!). Superb service, great establishment.

The staff and the coffee are both amazing here! I always come here for the iced beet latte with oat milk, truly a gorgeous piece of work. After one staff member highly recommended a ‘Dirty Diana,’ I ordered it right after finishing my original beet latte, and it’s equally amazing! Whether it’s to support your local Black-owned business, or just to grab some stunning waffles or coffee, this is the place to go! The staff are so accommodating and kind, and the fun music is only a plus.

We stopped here for a coffee after lunch. It’s quite popping and very hip. The people running the place are very friendly and welcome everyone in.We got a cappuccino and one of their cold coffees and were very impressed. I was left wanting for more as the coffee had just the right balance of milk and coffee. The cups are also very nice looking (wish I had gotten the photo).Also they accept Cashapp which I thought was awesome and creating more choice for consumers.

This place is DOPE! I love it! You know the feeling you get when walk into a culturally rich environment, yeah, its like that. First thing that hits you is the glorious smell of waffles, coffee, sweet decadent spices and caramel; just deliciousness! The sounds of hip hop, R&B, and ethnic soul radiating the radio; along with the breath taking art all around you, I felt like I was spinning in the midst of history being made. I hope to see more Nirvana Souls up and down the bay. Looking forward to my next trip. This time, I had a golden waffle, with an iced cafe latte; absolutely devine! Everyone there is super friendly. The coffee is amazing + they have agave and milk alternatives…that’s a major + for me. The cinnamon rolls will have you humming all day, but beware, they run out early and often. Beautiful decor. Parking is limited because it’s downtown San Jose, but the experience makes up for the need to circle the block multiple times. Support these sisters.

I read about this place in the Metro, who noted that it was a Black Owned business. Wanting to support them, we drove over, (found a parking spot after driving around the block twice), and saw the bright, beautiful exterior right away. There was a line of 2 couples, (outside), in front of us and a line of 2 people inside., (spaced apart). After 10 minutes, someone came out and the 1st couple went in. After another 5 minutes, the couple in front of us gave up and left. After another few minutes, someone left and we were able to go in.It was unclear where to order. Soon, a smiling, young Black woman from behind the counter, came over and asked to help us. I explained that it was our first time there. She happily told us about their most popular drinks. The Birthday Cake sounded good, but really sweet; so I asked just for something with caramel in it. The woman helping us was one of the owners, so I told her that we came out specifically to support her. She didnt seem to think anything of that and explained that she owns it with her sister, who was towards the back.The space is really cute, lively techno music and laughter. The barista called out a name, but the only other person there waiting said that wasnt her. She called out the name again, but there wasnt another person waiting. The lady waiting went up and reminded the barista of her order and it was determined that it WAS her coffee; but they had the wrong name. We continued to wait and wait.... Finally the girl looked up and said Oh, your coffee is up front and smiled. I got my coffee, no name on it and it was cold. It tasted ok, but I didnt taste caramel. I wont go back, but I really wish them well.

This is my new favorite coffee shop! Yummy creative drinks, vibrant decor featuring local artists, and SUPERB customer service! Im excited to see open mic nights and other events planned. The owners have created such a warm & welcoming, upbeat community spot, what a gift to downtown San Jose!!

A beautiful coffee shop with great coffee. Their espresso, traditional macchiato and iced mocha were delicious. They have other items on their drink menu for those who don’t necessarily want coffee upfront. I tried their chorizo and cheese waffle and it was savory and very tasty! Definitely recommend. Super friendly baristas, adorable aesthetic and GREAT coffee. Coffee always tastes fresh (even just black coffee + cream.) I’ve been there 3 times this week already.

This time whennI went to Nirvana Soul, the line was down the street! But well worth the wait, enjoying the people driving down the street yelling and honking in triumph of our new President. My boyfriend got the coffee and it was a fresh brew and it was delicious. I got the almond milk turmeric latte with a touch of honey to take down the spice and a shot of expresso, it was PERFECT! For both of our drinks it was $13, but it was worth every cent. I am a huge Starbucks person and I live in the Hayward Hills, but I drive to San Jose any chance I get just to come here. The staff, art, environment, and coffee always make me happy!!! Let me know when you open your second location in Hayward.

Decent coffee and tea selection from hot to cold options. The coffee itself is very good. There is always a long queue so it takes some time to get the coffee and to get a seat.

This place is AMAZING!! Love the vibe, service, and of course the coffee! The staff is very attentive and made me another drink after I dropped my original one trying to devour the delicious waffle! I worked outside for a few hours and they made sure I was taken care of. Youre sleeping if you havent checked out Nirvana Soul!!

I had the hazelnut mocha and it was probably one of the best mochas Ive had in recent years. Great flavor and super smooth and well balanced. There are a lot of special drinks that Im hoping to try out next time. Its a great cafe!

The price of my espresso drink was a dollar higher than advertised on the wall. The staff honored the correct price but had to input it as a “custom order,” which meant the barista didn’t receive any details of my order. It was very busy when I asked for my drink, but the kind barista said he’d make it immediately. Good service, but needs better attention to details. (August 2021)

My chai tea latte was one of the best Ive had, and my partner enjoyed his iced coffee as well. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff were all friendly, and were quite chill with me and my partner just hangin out there for a bit. Great place, loved it.

YES YES YES. Only good things to say about Nirvana Soul. Like a lot of other San Jose natives, I was a little sad to see the former Cafe Frascati close its doors, but the sisters behind Nirvana Soul have given us so much reason to celebrate with their new coffee shop. They’ve completely transformed the space and it is so beautiful. It feels bigger than it used to and there’s such a fun energy. I love what they offer on their menu. Fiancé and I had a honey lavender latte, celebration latte, and a churro waffle. Everything was so good. Pricing is decent, pretty much what you expect to pay for coffee in downtown San Jose. Expect a line during peak weekend hours because everyone loves Nirvana Soul that much! So glad I finally got to check this place out and I’m looking forward to the day we can sit down inside and soak up the space a little more.

Nirvana Soul is a gem located in the SoFa district of downtown San Jose. A Black, women-owned business, this new cafe has good coffee, tasty eats, a bright, open environment, and a really cool staff. I definitely recommend you pay it a visit when in the area.

My favorite cafe in dtsj! Their coffee is delicious and they use organic milk. Their pastries and small baked goods are delicious too (try the carrot cake on the weekends)! Their staff is super chill and down to earth as well. Black owned business. Expect a line on the weekends. Highly recommended!

Great staff I talked to some family members, (uncle, grandma, brother, friends) etc! that were helping out around the shop on the opening day. I love the fact it’s a black owned family business with the two sisters in the forefront. Support local businesses I’ve been back twice and still see family along with some new staff I just love it! My gf and I visited Nirvana Soul for the first time today, and let me tell ya! It was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The ceiling is pink (love) and it BLACK WOMAN OWNED (F-ing LOVE). We walked in and were greeting immediately. We ordered and oat ice latte and an oat matcha latte and both were phenomenal!

Ordered a Flat White which is technically not on their menu but it was the best flat white Ive had in the Bay Area. From just a coffee perspective, this place is phenomenal. If that wasnt enough, the vibe inside is perfect and very welcoming. Had a great experience and start to my day. Thanks

Lovely art (circulationof local artist work), music always on and good. Vibe is nice. Staff are friendly. Waffles are a do not miss. Coffee is good. I like gasoline depth coffee like Philz does, so if they could offer something like that, Id give it five stars. Free parking can be hard to find if you come at peak times. One day when things open up again, there will be live music here and perhaps live opera and poetry!

Nirvana Soul is an incredibly awesome coffee shop. My first time there I ordered their Golden Waffle (plain buttermilk waffle) and it was delightful. It was light, fluffy and crispy. Also the price was relative to the size of the huge waffle. Their smoothies are certainly different than the classic berry smoothies. They have these icecream smoothies that taste phenomenal and actually homemade and really fill you up for breakfast. Sadly the inside of the restaurant was closed due to the pandemic, but they let us look around for a little. They had cool paintings all around and it looked very nice and comforting and and had an overall chill vibe.

This is what I think of when I think of a coffee shop. Friendly people, delicious coffee, and a lovely place. Local art is all over the walls, theres a cozy upstairs area that will be so lovely when people can eat and sit indoors again. If you like coffee, check them out and get a cup of Ground Control. Its so easy to drink black, no cream or sugar needed. Awesome food is prepared right there, gotta try those different style of waffles!

Really great artwork and decorations, delicious vegan pastries, and a yummy matcha latte! Prices are fair in comparison to other cafés and the staff was very friendly. Would recommend sitting in the upstairs, super cozy and a nice skylight.

Came to this place after knowing about it via google recommendation. They have all classic varieties of coffee. They also have some radical takes on coffee like beet, rose etc but the prices are crazy high. A latte costed me 7.1$. Cost is bit of a letdown for this being a daily driver.

A few months back, I went in to see if they have decaf coffee beans. Surely enough they did, but they also gave me a weird look and laughed at the thought of decaf, as if I dont get enough of that from online coffee snobs.The service otherwise was great, but my beans were beyond under-roasted. I figured it may have been my lack of arm strength, so I ground away what felt like pebbles in my hand-grinder.Unfortunately the taste was awful, clearly the beans were too green and under-roasted. Perhaps I got a bad batch but I wont be coming back to gamble on an entire bag of beans.Anyway, give this shop a chance to support a local black woman owned business.

This place is the most cutest little coffee shop ever. Although, we couldnt sit anywhere because of COVID, they let us walk around to to view the art and decorations. Love the diversity and friendliness of the staff. Overall just a great place if you feel like chatting with a friend for a quick sip or eat breakfast with the best waffles I had so far.

Good vibes, great color scheme, positive friendly atmosphere, non dairy options: oatmilk, macadamia nut milk. They have pastries and vegan muffins. This place is just super cute and has like a fun, chick, kind of dope vibes feel. Their coffee is really good and you can taste it. This is a new business owned by two sisters so support local businesses and support Black owned small businesses.I really enjoy my experience every time I come here and you can sit outside and enjoy your coffee and pastries. They also have a point system for your visits and give you the option to heat your pastries too. Feels good to support small local spots versus going to big chains. Their sugars are kind of at the end/behind the counter so ask for them or grab when you pick up the drink. I also think it’s super cool they have an in house celebration (birthday cake) syrup.

Great coffee, great people! This is the type of place that a strengthens and helps a community to grow. Black woman owned, and the coffee is as bold as their personalities! Inside local artists are featured with bright murals and a gallery area on the second level.When I arrived, the line was literally down the block. We waited about a half hour, water was offered to people waiting as well. When we got inside I ordered an iced black americano, which even without sweetener was fruity and sweet. The veggie quiche was also UNREAL, with a sweet pastry crust and creamy egg inside. It’s easy to see why the buzz is about more than just the coffee.

My first time and already a fan. I got an iced birthday cake latte with their handmade whipped cream. Definitely recommend Nirvava Soul.

Great waffles, great decor, and friendly people. What is really cool is the loft with works available from local artists. All the proceeds from sales of the art goes to the respective artist. This business is an excellent addition to the downtown scene.
