I wish regulations would allow for more varity in the market. It feels a little old and stale + produce is typically more expensive. The outside is beautiful so its worth a trip! (The restaurants and nightlife around it are great for some lively atmosphere!)
While its not what it used to be, before covid, it is still part of the town square. People come here to buy and sell meat and produce as well as some various retail style goods.Shop at the market and support the local economy, and enjoy the hospitality and experiences they have to offer, because places like this need to be protected and nurtured.
Great place for an evening drink and some tapas. Lots of outdoor seating and dancing in the streets. Great fun...!!!
I went at nighttime, and it was beautiful 😍.Seeing people out and about enjoying the scenery. The music and vibes were great, but (still due to covid rules in place) a lot of the restaurants close about 10pm. However there are quite a few bars still open.
Lively place foŕ local produce. Fruits, vegatables and much more. Verý good findings for the price.👍
It’s always great to visit local markets. Loved the local food for breakfast. People were so friendly and helpful.
AWESOME I guess that about says everything. Definitely a must if youre ever in Puerto Rico.
Lit, lit, LIT!!!!Had a great time with my family! Also mingling with other travelers that came to experience what the island is all about! Had an amazing time.
Great place when youre on vacation in Puerto Rico. The staff was really nice and their selection was great. Everything that we had was worth the money and the crowd was very pleasing to the eye.
Beautiful plaza. Lots of businesses. Can be jumping at night (particularly on weekends)
This place is incredible. I randomly stumbled upon this cigar shop while heading to La Placita and was intrigued. Inside is a huge collection of cigars, complete with a smoking lounge and fully stocked bar. Sitting outside puffing on a stogie and sipping Scotch was pure bliss! In the evening there was live jazz and a great eclectic crowd. The owners appeared to be in the audience and were very hospitable. Definitely check this place out if you are in San Juan and want a little break from the hustle and bustle!
Offers a wonderful variety of restaurants and bars, but the Mercado itself has a great selection of fresh fruits and veggies, as well as small sections which offer souvenirs and even clothing. Its reminiscent of an old school, in door flea market. Check it out for yourself, Im sure youll find something!!
Kiles my good amigo. Best . Fruits in puerto Rico
La Placita de Santurce is a must stop for anyone visiting Puerto Rico. Restaurant and Bar-Hopping in La Placita ... La Placita de Santurce is a hub for great restaurants, intriguing bars, and all-night salsa dancing, also Jazz and regueton
Awesome square for local dining and brews. Mom and pop shops to support for local fruits, vegetables, and gifts. Theres also a holistic herb and plant shop thats a must for common cures of the body blues.
Very cute area to eat. nice ambiance. eclectic selection of foods. but it closes too early 10pm in the dot. they stop serving well before closing time and kick you out exactly at 10. I went to the 1st lechon food truck by the entrance. they only had 1 item on the menu available and it was yummy. in the back, theres a croquette kiosk which offered a variety of croquette balls with sauces. all were delicious
This used to be the place to go on weekends before the scam-demic. It was fairly busy on Friday night and most of the bars and restaurants were open. I don’t know why but there were about 100 police officers walking and driving through. That was a little off putting because I read they are targeting tourists but I didn’t see them harassing anyone. There was no live music and nobody danced☹️ but some of the bars had music. Hopefully next time we come it will be back to normal.
Small and a bit dirty, but fine to visit. Most businesses closed surrounding the market in the daytime
Wow what a place.. only went at night at it was nice
Whoever played music was an aux god. Good playlist. Full of people and drinks are cheap, mask free living
During the day, this is a simple little farmers market with some serious gems. Fresh fruit of all kinds thats cheap (one of the vendors cut and bagged all our fruit so we could take it and eat it easily), fast food, and other goodies. All cash vendors but so inexpensive overall. The building itself is absolutely gorgeous and surrounded by bars and restaurants.
There are a ton of tiny bars bursting with people drinking, dancing, and smoking cigars. I dont think there are open container laws, so everyone just kind of mills about, chatting and mingling. Its pretty cool, and the mass of people alone makes this worth checking out. Seemed like an equal mix of tourists and locals, and everyone was so friendly! Also I really liked the avocado statues. The avocados in Puerto Rico are both gigantic and delicious.
Always a great time. Good music, good people
Very popular on the weekends. Lots of bars and restaurants. Within a short walk.
Placita isnt for me. Nice tourist area but Parking $7 bucks around quite expensive. Business prices are not good sometimes find better other areas...
Great food they need to know drinks thats the only problem
Adults area, good drinks and food 👌
Beautiful.... all I can say.
Loved our tour experience here. Bought real fresh veggies and fruits
A traditional hangout for local latin music lovers which has become a favorite for tourists who want to feel the local vibe. Great foodand drinks, in and outdoors.
Wonderful place where people.gather together and can enjoy with friends.
Didnt have power when we went.
That is the oldest flea market in the area started since the 1920s. I often but fruits, natural medicine and some turnovers for breakfast! 😀🇵🇷💵
Amazing! Fantastic food fantastic service not to miss out on if youre in the area!

Best place to chill out with friends
Great to browse during the day, old school farmers market.
Fun place to visit at night. Lots of bars and people having a good time.
Awesome area outside of the more commercial or tourist-driven areas of San Juan. Definitely worth visiting to see the night-life, but relatively dead during the afternoon. Theres not much in the market itself except for a few produce vendors, a cigar stand and one other hot-food vendor that served bangin empanadas.
Nice place for entertainmemt and social drinking in area...
Wish there were more vendors but great produce selection
It has more business. Hopefully the mayor cant destroy the rest pOf the city
One of the best butchers shop.
Clean and very nice people
