I was very impressed by the tidiness of Villa’s shop. As a first time customer, the first sight impression do matter and Villa definitely delivered!Smog check was performed very efficiently. All the guys have a great attitude and make you feel welcome. I will definitely be back for my future needs.

I brought my car in for an oil change.Before coming I set an appointment and also signed up for My Garage and input my vehicle information and the 30 minute oil change advertised looked appealing since I would be coming during my lunch break.This was the coupon I was offered when signing up for My Garage:$66 Full Synthetic Oil Change26 point inspection in 30 minutes or less. Includes synthetic oil change and filter.Not valid with any other offer or special. This special must be presented in advance and can only be redeemed once. Some restrictions apply.When I arrived there was no one in the lobby. After 5-10 minutes someone came in and proceeded to gather all the information on the vehicle again and took him 10 minutes or so typing on the computer. I would have expected that they would already have my and my car info since I had entered it in on the website, but apparently not.After sitting in the waiting room for about an hour another gentleman called me to the desk and proceeded to try to bill me for a higher amount than what I signed when I came in. When I showed him the paperwork he proceeded to tell me that my car took 6 quarts of oil and that it was more than expected thus the higher price. He didnt offer to abide by the quoted price . I was really surprised by his explanation. When I told him my BMW i3 only has a 600cc engine (basically a motorcycle engine) in it. He told me he was surprised it took so much as well, but that was the situation and he had to charge me more because the coupon price which I had has a limit of 4.5 quarts of oil and thus the price difference. I asked him to show me where in the coupon it said that and he then admitted it did not say that. He then looked further into the paperwork and realized he had called me up by mistake and that he was attempting to charge me for another persons oil change.At this point the original person came in and overheard the end of our conversation and came over to tell me my car was still not done, but would be shortly. About twenty minutes later it was completed. I was then presented with a bill that was a little more than a dollar over the quoted price. When I pointed it out, he immediately corrected it and decided to undercharge me by about a dollar to make up for the mistake.My receipt was printed almost exactly 90 minutes after I arrived. The oil change took 3 times longer than advertised.The part which was most unprofessional and left a bad taste in my mouth was the first person refusing to abide by the promised price and expecting me to pay a higher price because of what he thought was their mistake on the oil quantity. That story did not make sense at all and if it were true I would be wondering how is it that they dont know ahead of time how much oil my car would take given they had the Make, model and VIN in their system. An honest shop would have abided by the price promised and not argued with the customer and tried to make them pay for the shops own mistake.The other thing that was disappointing was that I never met the person who actually did the oil change.I had high hopes for Villa Automotive, but was profoundly disappointed. I am not sure I will return or bring my other cars here.I know they have been around a long time, but maybe it is time they review how they treat the customer and ask themselves if they really stand behind what they promise.

They have a big shop with a lot of capability there you can see, and from all the certs on the walls you can see they keep very up to date. 5 star recommend.

Villa has always been a great place for me and my cars! I have been using them for the past 20 years, I recommend them to everyone. They do a great job, do not charge exorbitantly and they do not try to gouge you for repairs. I have been to other shops a d they tend to say that I need to fix a great deal when I dont actually need to. Villa does a great job and does not try to gouge. And they always remember me. I don’t like that when I mentioned I had AAA for the 10% off they hedged. Only got 10% off labor - they had my car longer than I expected ….. felt led on ….. and when I picked my car up it was filthy on the outside. This would not have been my choice for repairs but it was a Friday night when gas started leaking so I had it towed there Sat AM EARLY since they were open. Didn’t get it back till Wed. So far it seems to be fixed but I haven’t driven that much. .

My 2005 Honda Pilot required a STAR Station Certification in order to renew the registration. I called Villa Automotive and the fellow told me to come on in later that day and hed take care of me. On a Sunday no less! After 45 minutes as promised it was ready to rock and roll. John is a super nice fellow and it was a pleasure meeting him and visiting about the rich history of his familys business. So old school cool with modern service capabilities! Couldnt be happier. Ill be back there for sure!

Looked on the Cal Poly parents page for repair recommendations. Called Villa and they were able to get my daughters car in that day, identified which wheel bearing was going out, and made the repair in one day. They were professional, friendly, and were even able to change her oil so we could be sure her car had all the repairs and needed maintenance up to date. Definitely would go back!

I took my car to Villa because the bottom plate of my car came loose due to some debris on the highway and they fixed it in 30 min with clips! It was much more affordable than I thought it’d be and done so quickly. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful - I’d definitely go back again!

Called last minute with A/C going out the day before I was headed out of town, due to cross Nevada the following summer day. They were able to squeeze me in and fix me up. Great service (as always), professional staff, comfortable, relatively quiet waiting area

Villa Automotive is the best. We have been taking our cars there for years. They are very accommodating of last minute needs, communicate clearly regarding timing and plan, and have kept our older cars running well. I completely trust them and their advice with out cars and could not recommend them more highly.

Fast, excellent service. I came from out of town with a detachted tire and John made sure I was taken care of. They even gave me a ride to a car rental! This review is based on an experience I had many years ago when they had a facility over on Broad Street. Back then I needed a clutch replacement on my car and I wanted to use an aftermarket kit. I didnt know much about cars at the time but I called them up anyway to get an installation estimate. I absolutely cannot remember the associates name but he was really helpful, gave me a rough estimate of the install cost and possible incidentals. We spoke at a short length about which parts brands were reliable.The kit arrived and my appointment time drew near. I brought the parts and my car, signed paperwork and all seemed well. I got a call from them and the throwout bearing provided with the kit looked a little suspect as there was a minor ding on the exterior but said itd likely be fine but didnt want it to go in without me knowing it was there. At the time, I thought that if it was important enough to phone about then I should likely use a replacement, which Villa was able to secure same day for me. When I picked up my car everything was done cleanly and I never had any issue with the work. The ding on the bearing was pretty minor but still the fact that the extra care was taken gave me peace of mind.I do recall, though days later when I opened the hood to check my fluid levels, I noticed the topside of the valve cover and a few other items had been wiped clean. It was noticeable and to this day I still remember it. This positive experience has never left my mind.

They charge me for a battery, but forgot to install it. Luckly I check their work before my daughter headed back to Arizona. They did make it right and apologize.

HIGHLY recommend this place for any vehicle repairs you might need! Was in town for the weekend 5 hours away from home and was having electrical problems with my jeep. Had it towed in Sunday morning by their tow truck service which i also recommend, had the best prices in town. Was told they wanted to have a head mechanic look at it which came in Monday morning. Monday at 8am i got a call saying they found the problem and by 11pm was ready for pick up! Couldnt be any happier with their communication through it all and the extremely fast turn around time ! Thank you guys again !

I was excited to find a place that was open on Saturday to do a smog test for my truck. They fit me right in and the guy in the office was great. Unfortunately, the guy who drove my truck back up to the front was not wearing a mask. An an essential worker myself, my ability to pay my bills depends on not getting sick so I was very uncomfortable that someone without a mask sat in my truck, touched everything and drove it around to the front. I get not wanting to wear a mask while working underneath the cars, but it was inconsiderate to drive someone elses car without a mask right before the owner of the vehicle was supposed to get in and take it home. That guy did not seem sick, but as we all know he could have been asymptomatic and he could have breathed COVID19 all over the interior of my truck. The guy in the office was kind enough to give me a disinfectant wipe to wipe everything down myself, but I really cannot risk getting sick so I will not be back. :(

Thankfully, they towed us to the shop and worked their special magic to source the parts to get us back on the road. They are the only shop I know that is open until 7:00PM. My experience with the shop was quick and amazing

I had some work done about a year ago through an insurance claim. I wanted to get an upgraded intercooler and cleared it with my insurance that Id be responsible for the difference. The new intercooler I wanted was plug and play with no additional labor. My car is a 13 gti and the ic I wanted is OEM for a Golf R. I gave them the part number. When it was all done it was never mentioned that they put in my oem part and not the upgrade. After looking at the bill I wasnt charged extra just disappointed they ignored my request.Then a month later I go to give my car an oil change and notice some wiring harnesses just hanging they didnt bother to clip them back in place.Also now my bumper sticks out albeit a little but Im told this is because the bumper clips where broken likely when they removed it to replace the ic and radiator core support.Final issue is very small and likely not an issue but the lower control arm they replaced it with a cast iron LCA from a mk5 GTI and not the stamped steel OEM for the mk6 GTI. So I have different looking LCAs.While their customer service was superb and they brought me back and showed me the damage. I feel their work was rushed with little attention to detail. Do note the repairs are functioning as intended I just feel it couldve been done with more attention.

My daughter, a student at Cal Poly, took her car there because the check engine light had come on and it seemed to be related to emissions. This shop was recommended by a guy working at OReilly Auto parts in San Luis Obispo. They were able to identify the problem and explained the recommended repair may or may not solve the problem. They said it didnt affect the driving at all and the car would be fine even if you didnt do anything. I was impressed with their honesty and the repair work they recommended seemed reasonably priced. We will definitely go back to them with any car repairs.

Traveling down the 1 we got a flat. Villa service center was more than willing to help! They were friendly, informative and incredibly efficient. We were in and out within 30 minutes. They went above and beyond and fixed another issue we had without cost and without being asked. I highly recommend them! I wish we had them where we lived; would go here every time.

Jesus is a great help. I got in early the diagnosis was a defective alternator. They are a bit expensive, but I did get the vehicle that day and it is working as advertised. Thanks guys.

Villa Automotive showed complete integrity in their repair of my truck. We are from out of town and needed service this past Saturday. They were open so we headed to their shop from Cambria. My battery was going dead so we asked to have them check it out. I told them the alternator was probably dead. They could have easily taken advantage of us, knowing we were from out of town. Instead they called with a pleasant surprise. It was only the connection to the alternator that came loose. They fixed that and only charged me 1/2 hour of shop time. Who does that? Villa does! Ray checked us in and out and was super helpful and courteous. He kept us in the loop the whole time. What a great experience. I would highly recommend Villa automotive as a trustworthy and honest company and a great auto repair shop.

The web search states Villa has RV parts but they do not carry any RV parts.

Im the president of an automotive repair facility in the central San Joaquin valley. Recently I had one of my clients call me to say he was having problems with his truck while vacationing on the central coast and needed some help. I called Villa Automotive, was warmly greeted and I explained the situation. They were able to get my client in and repair their vehicle quickly and at a very fair price. Thanks to all the team at Villa for the great job!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. As a young woman, going to a mechanic for anything is already intimidating. When I pulled up to Villa to get a safety break and light inspection for a salvaged vehicle, some of the first words out of the employees mouth were complimenting my appearance, while he towered over me as I sat in my car asking where to leave it. He was nice, but thats inappropriate not to mention uncomfortable.I was told it would take 2 hours and cost $200 for my inspection, which is well over what everyone else in the area charges, and longer. I returned to the shop after 2 hours and was made to wait an entire extra hour for a quote for all the work my car needed to pass the inspection. When they finally brought the quote, which included over $1200 worth of work, they wanted to get started on it right away, after Id already waited for 3 hours that day.I could not afford the cost of all the work they wanted to do and took the sheet of paper with me that had everything the car supposedly needed to pass. I had a different mechanic do everything for $500 instead of $1200. Not to mention the fact that they included front axles as part of the reason it failed, except thats not part of a safety break and light inspection. That would have cost $600 if I had let them do it. They also illegally up-charge for the certificates that you get when you pass. They included a toxic waste clean-up fee as well, which again, is not part of the inspection.Their prices are ridiculously inflated and the service is terrible. The owner is unruly and harasses his customers. Avoid this shop at all costs.

Great place to get a quick same day smog check and oil change... Great relaxing spot to wait inside while youre car is being done including a TV, coffee bar, drinks, snacks, etc.. makes waiting easier and great customer service!

A big thank you to John Villa and the crew at Villa Automotive! The Villa family have been serving the community for decades and really came through for me on a recent major engine repair.

Our car kept turning off after starting or not starting at all. We took it to Villa because it was the first place near us. It was a complicated issue, but they got it fixed. They picked us up and dropped us off at a campsite that was out of town, and we are a family of 7! I also loved the attitudes of the employees that work there, a mark of a good business owner. One constructive criticism I would give: To give a range of when things will get done and a range for quotes and prices. We were told something would take 20 minutes, but it took 6 hours. We were told something would be less than $100, but it ended up being $300. When the tech explained this to us, it made perfect sense when it was all said and done, but our expectations were constantly being let down before the fix. Explaining a range like 20 minutes to 6 hours would have helped (I know you cant always know). Otherwise, it was awesome and I would highly recommend.

We had an accident (car vs. coyote) while driving down to SLO and were so worried that our car was going to be undrivable (bumper coming off, leak of unknown origin, wheel well ripped off) - on vacation and on a holiday weekend. Eric was so incredibly kind, assesses the car for safety, walked us through what we needed to do to fix our front light, and where to go. This allowed us to enjoy our vacation and get home safely. We cannot say enough about his honesty and kindness, a true gem!

My car shook violently driving south on 101 from San Fran for family vacation. It hapened Sunday afternoon. First good news, they open 7 am on Monday. Called in and they said bring it over. Rich is friendly and a knowledgeable professional. After i explained what happened and answering a couple of questions, couple he new exactly what and where the problem is, the break rotors. Service was complete by noon and we were on the road again.

Ive never had anything but the best service and attention here. The guys are attentive and professional. If I could give them 6 stars, I would. A couple of people have complained about wait times, but I understand how a 20 minute job on the car in front of me can turn into a 3 hour job. If I am waiting, I make sure I have good reading material with me. Sometimes, I get a rideshare to downtown and go shopping until I get the call that my car is ready. One time, I took my bike along and rode to Avila Beach and back.

We had a mechanical issue while traveling through SLO and were referred to Villa Service Center by AAA. it was 3 pm and the shop was busy, but the service advisor Eric said they would try to take a look right away. Honestly, I figured we would be there overnight. I was amazed when they pulled our car up 90 minutes later, repaired and ready to go! Very fast and friendly service at a fair price, got us back on the road and home quickly. Thanks Villa!

Very happy with the Villas service. Had to leave a car. They offered a ride to and from my home which is 10 miles away. Also they diagnosed an issue which, as it turned was a simple and inexpensive fix. Prior to that a different auto service company had diagnosed the issue as a complex and very expensive one. I am grateful to have found Villa Automotive.

I never write reviews, but my unacceptable experience at Villa Automotive deserves to be documented.I was traveling through the area when my Corolla overheated. I promptly took it to Villa, as they are one of the only auto shops open in the area on weekends.I called ahead, was told to bring my car in “right now”, and followed through. What happened after 4 hours of waiting for my car to be diagnosed was appalling.First, the young man who initially helped me never verbally went over the diagnostic price with me nor did he give me an invoice receipt. I dropped my car off around 12p and received a follow up around 4p. My motor was shot and needed a new one.After deciding I wasn’t in the market to afford a new motor, I was told the diagnostic price of ~$160. The same young man who helped me kindly gave me a discount after telling him my situation. (Traveling with a non-driveable car is impossible). When I simply ASKED if they could go down any further on the diagnostic price, I was then ushered in to John’s office.John aggressively informed me that he doesn’t run a “slavery ring”. He told me I needed to show him and his staff some “love and respect”. He said he was going to “give me a lesson” in capitalism. On and on this man went, when all he could have KINDLY said was, “no I am sorry, that is the lowest price we can do today.” He didn’t even have the humble ability to verbally tell me his name. When I asked, he said, “Why do you want to know?”. He then reached over and plopped his business card in front of me. After our entire exchange, John stuck his head out his office door and called the first young man that helped me because John was “through dealing with another millennial”.John, the owner of Villa, was shockingly impersonal and disrespectful. As a customer paying, no matter what the price, I would expect an inch of quality customer service from the owner himself. Instead, I was offered life lessons, generational discrimination, and nonstop badgering.Aside from John, every other staff member was accommodating. That’s how Villa earns its 1 star.An appalling experience as a young traveler. I will never return.

We were having trouble starting our 2016 Civic.Went to auto parts store who suggested Villa.Drove into the Villa shop a half hour AFTER closing (on a Sunday evening) and was greeted by a welcoming service agent saying “how can I help?” not “sorry we’re closed”.All the mechanics had left for the day, but that didn’t stop him from popping the hood and fully diagnosing our problem.Before we left, the manager (who was still there too!!!) offered his help and advice.These guys did everything they could to help us understand the situation and how to successfully drive the car to LA that night. And we made it!I wish I lived in the San Luis Obispo area because I think I would have found my repair shop for life!

Excellent service, excellent price! My A/C went out and driving in the 100+ degree heat was awful. I had to be in SLO for one day and was going to be in meetings the whole day. Villa Automotive was able to get my A/C fixed by noon and communicated with me by text so that they didnt disturb my meetings. The price was fair and the nice cool air has been flowing ever since. So awesome!

I was was told this might be a 2 day job (as it was a Sunday and parts availability might be an issue). My wife and I were provided transport by Villa Service Center to a car rental agency. The work on my truck was completed a few hours later and we were back on the road. Great place, great service!

I’ve been taking my vehicle to Villa Automotive for an oil change for the past year or two, and rarely had any issues. At the most I’ve waited 45 min but this recent visit I’ve waited 2.5 hours, which is just unacceptable for a simple service. I had made an appointment a couple days before and was told that making an appointment doesn’t matter and it’s first come first serve, what is the point in offering an appointment making service then? I was also charged more than what I normally pay. It was unexpected considering the service I’ve received during my previous visits. As a result, I most likely will never bring my vehicle there again.

We had a weird emergency with our car while driving through Big Sur CA 1 one of the sliding rocks from the mountain hit our car. We were strandedfor more than 7 hours We were very grateful for their prompt and high quality service picking us up with their subsidiary SLO towing company and their willingness to go the extra bit. The staff goes above and beyond to serve the customers. I highly recommend this shop! Ive got nothing but good things to say about Jon and Paul villa!

Villa automotive gave an exorbitant estimate to a friend of mine. She paid her diagnostic bill and had the car towed to another facility after getting an estimate that was $1,500.00 less. (either john villa gouges hard or others dont charge enough!) Villas returned the car with 2 flat tires, didnt even bother to put air in the tires after this poor girl paid for a diagnostic and a tow. John, ever since your tow guy damaged my toolbox I had transported with your company SLO TOW and then you called me a liar, I will be posting and encouraging others to do the same, every NEW occurrence (not even the old occurrences) that your company gouged, lied to, misdiagnosed and/or overcharged.
