I found my go to place so yummy I can’t wait to try everything…I need to figure out hour to call ahead cause I was on my 30 minute lunch from the dollar tree and I only had enough time by the time I got my egg,bacon,Swiss, on a everything bagel to drive back to work but I ate my sandwich while I drove it was so good I could ate another one

The ice coffee was perfect, but unfortunately I couldn’t wait longer than the 20 minutes I had already waited for my bagel and cream cheese, and had to leave before it was ready. With all these great reviews I’ll give it another try when I’m not on a schedule.

Great Bagels and variety, sweet local place with character. Bring ALL of your patience because you will need it and if youre in any kind of hurry hit another place. But if you have time and arent prone to customer-service-related anxiety, fantastic bagels.

I walked in and the smell was on point. Currently waiting for my order. The menu is great, variety of options for everyone. Although I want to suggest some gf/keto options, as well as other selections besides lox and sausage. They are so busy I got here just in time, currently a line out the door. If the line is that long, you know its gunna be legit. I got the Eggs and Hottie, it was fire. We also got the Top Hat, very fresh and avo was hella green. Thanks HOB, will be back!

Pricey, but the amount t of cream cheese they put on their delicious bagels are worth it!! Their coffee is really good too.Sunday mornings are really busy. I only gave 4 stars because management needs to schedule their employees better so that theres not just 1 person working and helping 20 customers at a time

Usually I love this place I go 3 times a week for my breakfast. I was calling in my order today and I kept getting placed on hold and then ignored and my call would get disconnected after 10 minutes of waiting. I would call back and someone would answer and just be breathing into the phone and then hang up. It was so weird! I didnt recognize any of the staff members when I finally went down in person to place my order. I asked where the normal staff was and these 3 ladies were so confused. They seemed so lost. The place wasnt even busy. I used to be in food service and I could have handled that by myself. On top of that when I was in there they took a phone order and I had been calling for 4 hours trying to get through. It was pretty offensive!

Tried to get A bagel, one! I was one of 5 in the shop. 20 minutes went by, the flies inside were like a flock of seagulls only attacking everyone so badly people were flailing arms and swatting aimlessly.At the 20 minute mark i asked how much longer, the boy behind the counter said 10 minutes or so. I walked out as I was late for a meeting.

They were out of many things on their menu.Service was very slow

The wait times are atrocious. We placed an order for two bagels and a coffee on a Sunday morning and it took them 40+ minutes to get our order ready. Do not go here if you have better things to do with your time.

Id rather the restaurant a 5.5 out of ten and the food a 6. I had a lox and schmear bagel. There just wasnt anything too spectacular about the taste of the food.

My son surmised that theres been a change of ownership. Average bagels. Nothing to write home about. I thought it was a bit pricey. Not as good as prior to Covid-19.

Ive been coming here for years. When my office was located in downtown San Luis Obispo, I assigned a staff member to pick up a to go order for everyone in the office at least once a week. Now when I come back, I make sure to stop in. Some things have changed but the quality and the consistency are still there. The owners and staff will go out of their way to make sure you have an enjoyable experience. I love their Lox! Their food is fresh and delicious. Its good to know that when everything else is changing; there are still some places that adapt and survive - this place is thriving.

Worst customer service in town, they truly don’t deserve anyone’s business.

Great Bagels, can take a log time to get your food. One employee is not very welcoming, she got mad I wanted three bagels toasted without cream cheese. Who would have thought no cream cheese would cause a problem at a bagel shop.Update... Tried again and same rude people, took 30 min to get 3 bagels toasted. Probably won’t give it a third try. Good bagels but not worth the headache

So good as always. the staff is always friendly and the food is great. We had a meat eaters on a plain and everything bagel. It was perfect.

Good bagels, extremely slow service consistently. 25 minutes for 1 bagel with cream cheese. Phone often left off the hook or not working so you’re left standing in line waiting. Also noticed most of the egg sandwich stuff is microwaved. Friendly staff, tasty bagels, good selection of bagels, but due to how often I’ve been stuck waiting 20 minutes + I have to give this place a 3 star review.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! When I called to check on our order for delivery the line was continually busy for over an hour. Both myself and my co-worker had to reach out to the businesses next to them- Subway and Jiffy Lube- to tell them to hang up the line on their phone so it would ring. After both Subway and Jiffy Lube communicated that to them I was finally able to get through the lady I spoke with was horrible. She said she never received my order to which I replied I have the receipt I can email it to you if youd like to which she replied I dont know what the hell youre talking about but call Ericka and gave me a number and then hung up abruptly. I left a voice message on Erickas cell phone and never heard back. So God bless Woodstock Pizza for coming thru and getting us food.

The bagels tasted great. The service was horrible. There were 4 employees yet I waited 30 minutes for a bagel. There were other patrons that had waited over 45 minutes for their order. Very disorganized.

When walking in, we walked up to see the Menu. We were Yelled at to stand in a Straight line.The Gal with the Bun was Really Rude. We placed our Bagel orders then asked for Hot Coffee, she said they WERE OUT!!!!

Went there for avocado toast and a sugar cinnamon bagel. The avocado toast was a piece of sourdough bread plain, toasted with a few slices of avocado for $5... I would definitely recommend going to seeds in downtown slo for a much better avocado toast. The bagel selection was good but no sweet or sugary options.People seem to like it, just not for me.

Love House of Bagels. Been a local gem for years thats been one constant in a town of changing businesses. Always top notch service, food, prices, and people. Staff are great, know the regulars by name.Veteran owned. If visiting area this is a MUST any Friday, Saturday, or Sunday morning. Although every day here you can expect a good experience. Nice bit of outdoor seating and close to downtown and the South San Luis Obispo area. Our kids love it too.

I love House of Bagels, or as my friends call it, HoBags. The Top Hat (and any of the other Hats) are a great value. They load them with so much cream cheese and avocado that they fill you right up. All of the bagels and bagel sandwiches are reasonably priced as well.

More than just bagels here. Good number of bagel choices, lots of options for bagel sandwiches and toppings. I havent tried anything else but they do offer traditional sandwiches, coffee, smoothies and boba. Restroom is for customers only that requires a key. I get the meat lovers bagel sandwich and love it.

Love this place for one reason... Bagel Dogs! I just wish they made more each day. Of course there other bagel options are wonderful and my wife loves them. But a quality hot dog wrapped in bagel! Oh my! So good. Lets hope they make more each day. I shouldnt have even mentioned the bagel dogs as you all will sell them out before I get mine. Um, dont get the bagel dogs from this place....so I get them :).

Was supposed to open at 7am. Didn’t open till about 7:20am and all chairs and lights were still off while we ordered. Bagels weren’t fresh and appeared to have been there from the night before. No espresso. So non of the coffee drinks were avail for purchase. Way overpriced!

The bagels have always been super delicious, they have tasty coffee, as well as other food. The only downside is that their service is really, really slow. Especially if theres a line and you order a sandwich, or something that takes more time than spreading creme cheese around. Aside from that, Id definitely recommend them if you have the time to wait for food.

Specialty bagels are good, but ask for the lemon pepper on the side and sprinkle to taste yourself. Otherwise its smothered in it. Orders can take a while, so if youre in a hurry, expect to wait.

Really good bagels. I like the green hat on am everything bagel which is a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese avocado and lemon pepper. Everything else is great too but I love the green too much to get anything else.

Tasty bagels.But, dont go in thinking you will just get a bagle, maybe toasted with cream cheese. Oh no.They have bagel sandwiches! That are stacked soooooo high! And something called hats, which seem to be open face bagels with every saucy thing you can imagine. And the pickels are sooooo tasty! Dill with a good crunch.Yeah.Good stuff.

Exelent bagels, they have a great selection, they make breakfast food, and they make great coffee, teas, and their meat is from boars Head and very tasty.btheir help is good and friendly. They could use more parking, they share space with 4 other businesses. They are always busy at breakfast time, and lunch, so be prepared to wait a bit!!

The only reason I gave this place two stars is because there food is actually good. But if you like getting your food within 15 minutes then I would not go here. Even a bagel with cream cheese can take up to 30-40 minutes. I order my food and see people who ordered after me get there food first. Ive been late to work and class because they cant seem to get there food made. And the older women who works there is extremely rude. The other workers are nice but slow. Good food horrible wait.

Love the pretzel rolls here, super good with a glass of yerba mate. The staff is very nice and personable even when they are swamped. Id try to avoid Friday mornings as it seems to be crazy busy.

Might be the only decent bagel in San Luis Obispo. While the staff turns over about as often as you would expect a college town bagel shop to, it is a testament to their hiring practices that they always seem to have friendly young people ready to politely make you a bagel. I have been eating bagels here with varying regularity since 2004 and have not been disappointed yet.

The New York bagel and lox on pumpernickel is delicious. But if thats not your thing the breakfast bagel is great.

Stopped in for a holiday lunch. They have tables outside so puppy could sit with us too. They have sandwiches and my wifes was great. The only low carb option I could find was the cobb salad and although it had bleu cheese crumbles, it was no dressing and very dry, although tasty. I took a couple of scones home for later, they were amazing! (Yea I cheated on the carbs lol)Staff was super friendly, especially the woman who sold me bagged bagels after the closed sign was lit (I had forgotten to purchase with our meal)

The bagel sandwiches are really good however the wait is usually too long so we call in our order and that works fine except they got the order wrong for the second time now. If they could work out the service issues Id give this place 4-5 stars.
