I have occasionally eaten at Juliennes prior to Covid19. This quaint locale is very popular for French cuisine. It is hardly a quick bite. There is always an expected wait for a table because it is a popular local favorite. Since Covid-19, they closed the restaurant dining area [it is now utilized as storage]. Although the Marketplace still exists, this quaint restaurant has been converted to an open Cafe. Unfortunately, with the changes, the Cafe seemed discombobulated. The wait is longer and the menu limited. Short staffed, you have baristas who also take your orders for dine-in. I waited 35 minutes for my Latte, which tasted good. I waited an additional 30 minutes for my Quiche. While my quiche was delicious, the Almond Croissant tasted and felt more like a scone [heavy, neither soft or flakey]. Although I was informed that the croissant was baked fresh that morning, it hardly seemed fresh [i.e. The Provisional is a prime example of croissants]. Due to the long wait, suggestion: call ahead and order for take-out or visit the Marketplace for some tasty items. Like myself, several people were unaware of the changes and were disappointed as I was.

They have changed a little to become a take out style place. You can still sit and eat and they have their coffee bar, but they adapted to best fit our current situation and it has worked better for them. The place is absolutely adorable and the people are friendly, very helpful and sweet. I love the vibe the place has, an elegant homey feel that works as opposed to a sterile cold attempt to be fancy.

The ruddest servers in South Pasadena. The woman taking my order barked at me because I asked for an item that included in my order and she wanted to charge extra. After reading the menu she didnt correct herself or apologized for the mixup. I dont mind paying extra but she was rude. You just lost a customer.

I truly felt as if I was in a cafe in countryside France. The atmosphere and food were wonderful! My wife had the seafood pasta and it was good, her only comment was that the sauce was not as thick as she would have expected from a creme sauce. But it was tasty.I had the beef sandwich. It was really great! The beef was tender and the juices soaked into the bread; Along with the blue cheese, it was unbelievably delicious. The best thing was the French Fries. They were the best we have ever had!Definitely on my favorites list now!

Heard so much about this place from our friends in our neighborhood. We also wanted to visit this place and have breakfast here to reminisce our Paris trip in the past. But when got there this morning, we found out that they only serve a few items for breakfast during this covid time. We went inside the pastry shop to see what we can get to take out. Looked like they don’t have much on offer. We were totally disappointed as we have planned this visit for awhile and so looking forward to dine here. I did managed to get a piece of quiche to go.We also browsed the store where they sell a lot of cooking products. They have a lot of charming and neat French products in stock. I believe this is a good place to get your French cooking ingredients.I guess we have to wait until the Pandemic is over to fully enjoy what they have to offer for French fair.

To be honest, the food was a little bland. The service was good. The wait was a little on the long side. The sandwiches were fresh, but a tad boring. The french toast was really good, but be forewarned, it has the consistency of bread pudding. The strawberry and chocolate waffles were good. If you eat in the patio, its charming, but slanted and can be a little tight depending on where youre at on the patio. The rosemary bread they serve is marvelous! It is charming and the store is nice. It was nice enough, but I probably wouldnt go out of the way for it again. However if I found myself in the area, Id definitely go back and try something else. I like to give a place two shots before I decide its not for me.

Ive heard good things about Julienne and Im glad I was able to see stop by for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Its tightly tucked deep in San Marino and its not where youd think it is. The breakfast menu isnt that expansive so youre only limited to a few items. For the two of us, we shared their green omlette and their creme brulee French toast. I honestly love their French toast me then their omlette. Its spongy with a hint of sweetness. The omlette on the other hand was a let down. I felt the egg was overcooked so at first bite, the egg was hard. In addition, there was not that much flavor in the omlette itself, probably because theres no meat in it. The salsa that came with the omlette made it a bareable but I would not order it the next time around.

I ordered the Chilaquiles w/chicken sausage & my beautiful wife ordered the spinach and cheese pie w/bacon & eggs.Good was very good w/well balanced flavors. My primitive pallet always wants more spice & salt. Wife loved it, I thought it was good but too uppity for my neanderthal low brow tasts.

I’ve been coming here for years with my family as well as my boyfriend. The atmosphere is my favorite part... Elegant and classy, reminiscent of being back in Europe. The food is delicious, both breakfast and lunch. This chicken salad I had was amazing, and so is their coffee. Their rosemary currant toast is delicious! Croissants as well! The parking is easy when it’s not slammed, the tables outside have heating and you’re surrounded by plants. The service is great, there’s always someone attentive coming by to refill coffee. This is a great spot for birthday breakfast, families, even a date. Their breakfast ends kind of early (10:45am on weekdays I believe) so make sure you get there early enough!

Enjoyed a fabulous breakfast of Chilaquiles (fried tortilla strips) laced with mild tomatillo sauce and scrambled eggs. Of course, we started off our meal with sharing a couple of lemon curd (brule) scones and coffee. Be prepared, waiting time is 15 to 20 minutes since they do not take reservations; parking is limited to a small parking lot and street parking. Top your visit off with a stop in their take out shop and gift shop. A bit on the expensive side but worth the treat for a special occasion.

Tried the breakfast food from this place with one other person. Specials for each day and each week are different from the next. Food is somewhat overpriced. The market next door sells many interesting goods that are not normally sold in general stores; expensive as many are imported goods from Europe. My friend purchases dark chocolate from Barcelona Spain and Iceland; he had only seen the latter sold once before at a different store. I plan to return to purchase gift items from the market, not the food.

The front staff lied to our face. My wife and I asked whether we could be seated in a slightly larger table and the front staff told us that they cant seat a couple there as the table can accommodate 4 people - which is understandable. Heard a lot about this restaurant. My wife and I ate there recently. The food and service were good. Our overall experience was positive except one thing when we got the bill.We can’t believe that we were charged beverage prices for ordering hot water. I asked the waiter about the charge but he gave some lame excuse that his owner was out of town and can’t reverse the charge.I hope that this “practice” does not represent the restaurant policy especially for such a successful establishment. If it is true, I am utterly disappointed.I was going to give a high rating in my review but this action by the restaurant staff puts a bad taste in our mouths.

Food was satisfying. Its nice to sit on the patio. Good variety of dishes. My seafood pasta dish was yummy, mostly salmon and some shrimp. The sandwiches are great and good size, too. Our first time there, but heard they were amazing for years. Finally made the drive over. We enjoy take-out and dining at home, so we brought home the delicious chicken tenders (lovely and light, not salty, and come with their homemade apricot sauce-delicious), the chicken enchiladas (very homemade tasting and not salty), chicken salad sandwiches, the works. We froze most of what we bought and ate like kings for 2weeks by cutting up fruit or making a fresh salad and putting it alongside Julianne’s entries. My only suggestion for Julienne’s and ALL purveyors of made-to-go salads: DROP the salt! If you use vinegar, you don’t need salt, too. For your faro salad, add mint instead.Beyond the salt issue, which seems to be common at a lot of restaurants, Julienne’s offers fabulous, clean, original, well prepared hearty dishes.

First I was told a table was available in 2 minutes but waited more than ten. Then we get seated and order a latte but the machine was broken. Ok fine. Orange juice and coffee was ok. Menu looked great. When the server came to take our order we asked for the croque monsieur and the spinach pie. They did not have that available. Plan b. The server let us know that three more of the items were also not available which included our second choice and third choice. Being in the industry I know that there will be some glitches but communication is essential. I would of not been as disappointed if the server had let us know the items that werent available when he told us the cappuccino machine was broken.Having wasted time. And really not left with many choices my boyfriend and I decided to pay for our coffee and juice and go elsewhere. They didnt charge for the drinks. We hope to come back and give them another chance. Like I mentioned before the menu looked great. Just need work on having items available and communication to the guests.
