In my opinion, the best choice for overall equipment in the SF. Bay Area Big 5 has a great selection of sporting goods. I personally purchased swim googles and a swim cap. The selection of shoes is perfect since i use various shoes for outdoors, running, and casual use The store staff members were very patient and helpful. I did notice a few items overpriced but this was easily balanced with a Amazon visit. The parking lot is big and safe. I recommend a visit.

They have no stock. Everything is out and they just say sorry come back on X day. Plus they dont price match... Rawlings 12 pack of baseballs was 6-7 dollars less expensive on Amazon.. I get not wanting to price match Amazon because they always have low prices, but they said they do not price match any competitors.. gives me no incentive to shop here if I can get better deals elsewhere. I miss when sports authority was still around

This isnt a very good shop if you need help and find an item that you need at the store no one seems to want to go back in the back to check to see if they have additional sizes or whatever youre looking for at the time.

Employees are super helpful and great with customer service here, especially in shoes. Wish I got that guys name that helped us, but he was great and fast and so nice.

DO NOT BUY clays from this store. At least 80% of our clays were broken. As you can see in the picture we went through the whole box and only managed to get two stacks worth of whole clays. It’s clear the box wasn’t properly handled or even dropped and put back on the shelf. Really sucked to see we didn’t get our money’s worth or even get to shoot much.

How to draw half an hour just so she can tell me they dont have anyone to sell ammo even though they are open.another day I called someone told me they have an item I had to drove again so they tell me its not available.Call before you go if youre lucky someone will give you hopefully correct information before you waste your time.

Went in to try on some shoes & the staff was great. Unfortunately these dang masks we are required to wear give me the sniffles so I had to leave without a purchase but will be back tomorrow. Thanks for your help & I will be there tomorrow.

The guy in the shoe dept. Dont help certain people. I was in there 20 minutes he walked right past me to help the other people. I spoke to the Mgr and told them to just stand and watch. Sure enough no service. I seen this same thing posted somewhere else. Obviously theres a problem there. ( the thin guy with the long hair). Never again.

The lady at the front desk seems like her job is too strenuous 🤣😂

I went in to buy some swim shorts with my boyfriend. The cashier asked if I wanted a bag I said no thank you and he threw the shorts at us all crumpled up. He didn’t even greet us when we arrived to the desk but to everyone before us he did. Not sure why he treated us rudely. Not to assume but we we’re Hispanic and he treated us like this but to the two customers before us who were white he treated nicely.never going back to their store.

This place is a real trip... the sales are good/constant and the staff is generally nice, but it is not consistent. Forget about any expert help with shoes. They have none. You are on your own. We went to Sports Basement and had a completely different experience, customer service wise. Bought an awesome pair of running shoes for a little over what we would have paid at Big5. Unless you know exactly what you need and can just go in and out of this place, I wouldnt put too much trust in their advice or knowledge about product.

I signed up for their mailing list and get tons of special deals daily. we are going in at least once a week now, costing me a lot of money but the discounts are huge so i can buy things that i want but dont need. good supply of sale items, shoe sizes, people are very nice, patient and helpful

Very good parking.EDIT: 1/19 best to go online to their website and type in what U want. after U do this a few times, U may be able to find what U want in a nearby store. unless of course, U prefer to order online. magic of the internet.

Went in there and bought some stuff which included a new pair of in soles. Its kinda weird in a sense that one day the staff is completely different and I mean not one single person was the same the previous day of the same week.?? Very odd! Back to my review. ...Luci was very helpful, thank you! I went back to exchange the soles because they didnt fit the shoe I intended them for and I didnt wear them in store to test it out. That was my mistake. If youre gonna buy some insoles make sure you try them on with that pair of shoes. Well I went back in the next day to exchange them and looked for Luci but she was wasnt there. No big deal I thought maybe shes off her shift but thats when I noticed the entire staff was different, kinda like stepping into a twilight zone. I went in there about the same time the day before. But instead I was greeted by Reed. This exchange was not a simple one as I had a coupon attached to it and it was since used, Reed took some time to think about a solution and took care of me in a fair manner. I highly appreciate it Reed you have great customer service. Hope your cashier next to you can pick up some skills from you, kinda lacking but I still had a great experience here thanks to you. Oh and guys please be patient when asking for service or favors. Good things come to those who wait. No need to get pushy or negative. Just stay positive and let these guys help you out.

Fairly large warehouse store with a decent range of products on display. Usually pretty comprehensive stock of product range compared to other larger chains. Some areas are more organized than others. The feel of the place is very much stuck in the 80s.

This is a small store. but they offer good deals on their weekly ad. they also have good stock base on the seasons, when i need soccer supplies for my kids I can always count on them. same thing for baseball & basketball. associates are nice and friendly

Shiny new store and it looks awesome. Fewer associates than I expected in the store and it took us 30 minutes to get help in the kids bike section. I am hopeful these are growing pains and operations will get smoother very soon.

Bought a fishing rod in this store. Freddy is a very nice guys. He helped me to set the hooks and told me how to use the fishing rod. Very patient and Five Star Service.

Great spot to pick up almost any sports equipment you need. Although they dont have a huge inventory, they have a small quantity of almost any sports-related item you can think of. Also they almost always have athletic shorts and shirts at good sale prices near the back of the store.

This Big 5 is one of the better ones. They have good selection on everything and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Big 5 sporting goods has a huge selection of camping fishing sports equipment braces from knees to elbow to ankle etc etc etc. I purchased ankle and knee braces along with Russell sweats and socks. I find the quality of everything I bought extremely good quality.

The only reason they dont get 5 stars is I dont think their pricing is competitive. Clean store. Well organized. Helpful staff.

A good selection of sporting good needs at a convenient location. Prices are a little high, but they had everything I needed before a trip to the beach...goggles, swim ware, toys for kids. Worth a trip.

Tiny little sporting goods store without much of a selection. For locals its probably a handy spot to grab something quick. But I found the lack of inventory a little tough. Big gun selection though...

The people who help get you shoes in your size were ridiculous.... no service, stood in front of them for 15 minutes and they never greeted me or helped me. HOWEVER i got my favorite shoes and racket from here and I like those. The cashier had a great personality.

The store is small and has a lot of sporting products and may not appear nice to many people. But hiling, camping and hunting are never about neat or clean. The importance is price is good and affordable.

Hard to find anything, store crammed full of product and merchandising is all over the place. The quality of the choices varies between junk and good brands. Just overwhelming and annoying to walk into. Employees dont seem happy to be working there the couple times Ive been in.

Great place for kids outdoor gear (affordable stuff for skiing, camping, sports) & for hubbys needs too (including fishing supplies & practical shoes) & moms workout needs (all the clothing essentials if you dont want to burn money on athleisure in Burlingame!) Thank heavens theres an alternative to the more exclusive spots out there (e.g. REI, North Face) for the masses who cant/dont want to always pay top dollar for the fanciest gear...

Small store has good sales of sports equipment and shoes.

Place is really quite, asked for a pair of boots in 10 and 10.5. The person gave me one pair in 10 and another different pair in 10.5. Employees could have a better attitude but the atmosphere of the store really kills it.

Horrible. I think that the people that work there must be abused or something is terribly wrong. I cant believe that every single time Ive been there its like walking into a guarantee that somebody will be an #$@hole to you if you ask a question. Its almost like they practiced it before you walk in. Whoever does the hiring there has really bad judgement or they do all the hiring from the jail.

Im logged in under my husband. my name is antoinette i came to this location to buy a gun i asked someone for help to fill out brady bill the worker said let me get the manager he comes back tells me hes right their so i walked over their and waited he kept talking to his employee and didnt ask me to wait or nothing he just left me standing their so i walked off the employee says did he help you i replied no i guess hes too busy or does not want to help me so he tells the manager again the manager again he finally gets with me, i let him know i forgot my id and my husband went for it he had already seemed bothered by me i asked him could i fill it out well were waiting he says nooope very rudly i asked why he tells me im not getting fired i told him you dont have to be rude to me. so my husband comes back puts my id down on the table for him he tells me do you have youre id when he clearly seen my husband put it infront of him i told him its right their and pointed at it at this point im already upset by his customer service skills he goes and does the brady bill comes back tells me fill this part out i told him is that fine he says i dont know is that what it says on youre id i said well yes, i asked whos over you? he tells me mat i seen him walk in and explained this situation to him about his lower manager he didnt seem to care at all didnt say sorry for his lower managements actions .ill never buy a damn thing from this place ever again both these employees are very rude and dont think they need to be managers if they cant talk or treat their customers with respect ive never felt this way they made me feel like a criminal trying to buy a gun and honestly did not deserve my hard earned money. us as customers pay their checks goes for my job also no customers no jobs so hopefully this situation never happens with another customer also when he asked me to fill it out he didnt even want to let me use his pen like come on. sincery antoinette
