I went in to bleach my hair and color it but came out looking a mess. My hair started falling off because of how much Carmelita fried my hair. Shes money hungry and terrible at her job. The staff is so rude. Had to cut all may hair off and grow it out. Do not go here unless you really need to as a last resort. If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is a joke.

The employees are so unprofessional. They will promise you they can achieve a certain level of blonde but in reality they cant (and they know it) but still bleach your hair and do not care if they fry it off. One of the ladies did not even know how to braid hair and left it so terrible.

They took the time to understand what I wanted. In more than happy with my hair color.

Edit: Went back to get my hair dyed for the first time and the end result was lovely! Will be going back for hair cuts, but probably not for dyes.Maybe it was the slight language barrier, but she never talked to me about what was happening (I was left to sit there with dye heavy hair with no ETA on the wait time multiple times). After the initial dye, it turned out the wrong color and she seemed a bit angry about having to fix it? While fixing it with another layer of color she pulled on my hair a lot and combed through the tangles roughly with a fine toothed comb (didnt even put another smock on me, just a hand towel around my neck. Luckily I was wearing all black so it couldnt stain my clothes). They also never told me anything about aftercare (wait to wash it, use sulfate free shampoo, etc) and I had to look it all up later.Still tipped 20% because I understand the hustle, but it was an odd experience.Original review:Loved my hair today! They did not schedule me with Carmelita as I originally requested. Trying to be understanding, (and because I had modified my work schedule to be there) I accepted to be seen by the hairstylist that was available.I originally had long Black/Dark Brown Virgin hair. I wanted to go Balayage ash blond with light blond highlights and wanted to trim the tips.I was familiar with the process since I had been to Carmelitas hair salon before and had had the same coloring done before.The first issue was bleaching. My hair came out ash blond in the front and had strands of orange in the back. She had also failed in doing the balayage combing technique. Throughout she would stop to answer the salons phone. Her colleague did not answer the phone at all despite at times being available. There were straight lines at the top of my hair. When I requested her to fix it she insisted that it was what I had wanted.The second issue was the dye job itself. She failed to tone down the orange hues evenly. Plus, she mixed it in with the dye. WhenI suggested her to tone it down more, she refused, stating that my hair could not take it.As a result, she did not blend in the straight bleach lines. the hair color of my head looked unbalanced. (ash blond in the front, medium golden blond in the back). Plus, it was golden blond, another color than what I had requested. When I criticized the color, she first insisted that that is what I had originally asked for. When I showed her the picture, she insisted that was all that my hair could take and that it would look better with future washes.She did not show me the final dye job results in the mirror before curling my hair without my consent. In which she later charged me for.Overall, the initial work looked unprofessional and unfinished. It looked like it had been home done by someone who was still learning from youtube videos. The hairstylist was unprofessional and dismissive. The overall look cost me $203.00. I still tipped.I went over to a friends house who helped me go through my hair layer by layer. We found it out just how uneven it was and We had to put on both purple spray and blue shampoo to tone down the orange in my hair.I had to go back the following day to get it fixed. I requested a different hairstylist but was denied by Carmelita on the grounds that she was overbooked and that every hairstylist had to fix her own mistakes. It was only after I insisted that she agreed to supervise.I returned an hour later and noticed that the hairstylist attitude had completely changed. Carmelita advised her only in the beginning and she listened to my suggestions and answered my questions.Luckily it was an easy fix. She had to tone it down again and dyed the top of the bleached hair into my roots to make the straight lines disappear.The final look looks ash grey with ash blond highlights in person. Although It looks fine, it is not the original color that I had wanted. Not only did I overpay, but the experience itself was also overall draining and unpleasant. I do not plan to return

Thank you to all the staff at Carmelitas. Went for a party and did not plan ahead to book appointment anywhere. Came here because of the reviews. They were very busy but attentive.I was told that they had many apointments but still could squeeze us in but we would have to wait( totally expected that anywhere).waited probably. 15 min max. They did my daughters hair and mine very pleased with the service.

Not a good experience, the staff is rude and dismissive. The woman who did my sons hair didnt even bother to brush the extra hair off his face and she cut way too much from the sides. She didnt use water or the hair dryer. She rushed and did a very poor job. I dont recommend and I will not be going back.
