I had Wooden Widows and Doors repair a double hung window sash that had gotten dry rot, I was very pleased with their thoroughness, promptness and follow though. I had never had a window repaired before and they helped me understand what was needed and why.I now have a great new bottom half of the window, and it looks exactly like my other windows. This turned out perfectly, and the staff also told me what to do in the future to avoid water damage to my remaining windows.I recommend Wooden Windows and Doors. Wood Windows and Doors was incredible on my Front Door redesign! They are very, very detailed in his work - there wasnt anything we noticed wrong, and they used much better quality materials than I expected. It was easy to tell how much pride they take in their work. they laid down material to keep the floor clean, and covered everything while sanding to avoid getting things dusty, and left very clean after. I liked that Ivan pointed out areas where we could save money, He suggested cost-effective solutions to address a few other issues around the house.All in all, the project turned out way better than we expected, from quality of work to interactions with Ivan, and living through the work process. If we have any other projects, well definitely look to Wood Windows to help us out.

They completed a window replacement project for us. We wanted to replace our builder-grade wood frame windows that were showing their age like most homes here in Berkeley. From the estimate appointment (great job Ivan Guevara) that was informative and thorough without the aggressive sales pitch, to the timely scheduling communication (kudos Ivan) we knew this was going to be a top-notch job. The construction supervisor, Ruben, was meticulous and ran an efficient crew. They were punctual, polite, and respectful of our home and external landscaping. They did not dawdle and completed the job quickly to minimize the heat and humidity of our first 90 degree day this year. They did a good job cleaning up after themselves both inside and outside. I hope this 1000+ word review saves you pain. We have a house in Oakland and Because after negotiating with 8+ bay are window companies for months, Wood Windows on San Pablo was completely painless. Let me tell you why:Heres what was important to me:**I wanted very insulating windows. I had old 1950s metal windows that leaked so much air, ice formed on the inside during the winter. We also had been scarred by some newer Andersen double hung windows that leaked air.**I wanted a very high level of installation quality. We already had some windows replaced a couple of years ago, and the windows clearly were leaking air around them. (poor caulk job)**I wanted a guarantee that any problems would be taken care of. I was willing to pay a little bit more, to know that I could just call someone and they would take care of ANY problems, in an honest and swift manner. I wanted to deal with the manufacturers directly.I ended up with two front-runners:I decided on WOOD WINDOWS? Why? They definitely werent the cheapest, but they-Manufacture their own brand (amazing windows, the air infiltration rate is out of this world, which means NO WINTER DRAFTS, the sun reflection is perfect and the locking system is incredibly smooth)-Offered warranty on Windows and Labor-Did not have pushy sales people and did not try to upsell me-Were reasonable about considering options.-Were confident and articulate in how they would deal with problems that might arise during and after the installation (again, I wanted full-service here)-Wanted to make sure I was happy and it felt like they had a reputation they wanted to maintain.WHAT I LOVED-The attention to detail was amazing. From laying down protective canvas, to carefully prying out my 50-year old windows without damaging the outdoor brick or indoor drywall.-The caulking and insulation job was top notch. Seamless application and done well. Most sealers wont consider that you need to use different caulk thicknesses depending on what part of the window youre sealing. It was obvious that the caulker from Wood Windows used thinner caulk when needed and put wide caulk on when appropriate. Smooth as butter and looks perfect.-Boy did they vacuum. There wasnt a crumb of anything left anywhere when they left.In the end, I feel very confident that if any issues arise, Wood Windows is going to completely take care of it. No dealing with the resale companies, no second-guessing. This company went out of its way to make me feel like I was getting white-glove service and Im repaying the favor with this pretty long review. I hope it helps! Im so glad Im done.

I had a great experience with Wood Windows. They installed 9 custom built windows on our 56 yr old home. We found several companies online, and called Wood Windows and Doors, Ivan came, we were impressed with his service, and chose his company to do the work. Wood Windows were manufactured on time, and Ivan arranged for an installation date that was almost immediate. Ivan, Ruben and another gentleman (sorry, I forgot his name) showed up on time and were very efficient installers. They covered down with cloth to save the floors and catch dirt, etc. and the did vacuum afterwards. They were very friendly, and answered any questions we had. Just had my windows installed by Wood Windows in San Francisco California. They did an excellent job! They called me first thing in the morning to give me a time by which theyd arrive and were here about 10 min early, which was perfect because I had to run out.They were very professional and polite while they were here. They laid mats on the floor where they planned to walk and still wore boot covers. They also covered everything in the room they were working on with plastic to minimize dust getting everywhere.Id check up on them periodically and the crew was more than happy to tell me what was being done. When they were done, Ivan walked through all aspects of the windows - both inside and out - so I knew how to take panels and screens out. They were also very helpful and took my old blinds away to dispose of since i wasnt planning on reusing them. Saved us a trip to the dump!! Thanks Wood Windows and Doors!

We decided to go with Ivans estimate after discussing the project with him, he was extremely pleasant & professional! He gave a very fair price! His crew came when he said they would! We knew there was some water damage done & Ivan was honest saying the price might change depending on what he found inside the window sills. I just finished a project with Wood Windows and Doors to replace all but two windows in my home for a total of 13 windows. From the moment I was in their showroom, I was impressed. Ivan spent time with me in the store telling me all about windows and options. I got a full education on windows and was appreciative of his knowledge and willingness to work with me.The next step was for him to come out and measure everything to do the quote. He came out that afternoon, and had the quote to me very quickly the next week. We went back and forth sorting out the final details, and Ivan was quick to respond, and very helpful over email as I made final decisions (single hung, double hung, interior color, etc). Once we got the final quote done, they placed the order.The install went amazingly smooth. They started on Tuesday and were done by Friday right after lunch. My Husband and I decided to spend some cash and replace 90% of the windows and doors in the house. New front door, sliding glass door, five double hung windows and a bay window. I contacted Wood Windows because they were recommended by a friend from work. Ivan came out and had a great presentation. Window samples and everything, clearly high quality. Not the cheapest, but I was taught you usually get what you pay for. It takes some time to get your new windows and doors as they are custom built after the measurements are taken. Ivan and his team were top notch. We dealt with this in March 2019 and had our windows for about 3 months. Our home required about 17 windows including double hung, picture, and sliders. Ivan met me at my home in the late evening and provided a quote the next day. Theres no sales pitch, used car salesman tactics, demonstrations that have little real-world results, etc. With other window companies, they push their Cadillac windows that give a marginal performance increase for an exponential cost. with Wood Windows and Doors I knew beforehand they installed a bunch of windows for my neighbors. They started with the manufacturers basic line which happens to be the highest quality for other vendors. I inquired about the mid-level line and Ivan told me they can build the windows out of Western Red Cedar or Mahogany (highest wood quality) at affordable rates, I compare local companies and found out Ivans estimate with Mahogany Windows are the same price other companies charge for Douglas Fir or Pine, I went to his shop and he gave me some wood samples so I could bring to the paint store and try different stain finish for the interior.We went with Ivan and his installers put the windows in our home about three weeks later. Took about 3 days and a half to complete the installation. His crew showed up about an hour earlier and were super fast!.We are so glad we found this company, now we enjoy beautiful Mahogany windows with Dual Pane Glass Low E.

I have rarely been so impressed with a company and its owners. Ivan and Ruben are very personable and worked for us to get us the job done and done right. The windows and sliders are beautiful. The most amazing part has been the quiet. Those casement windows we got in Wood Windows are beautiful! The Bart, 1/3 mile away, cant hear it. The installers were professional and finished the job in two days. Then, Ivan came to meet the city inspector and stayed to help me clean up the windows, helped with painting around the windows and overall hung around until the job was done. I will be looking into replacing our front and kitchen doors and I will for sure ask them to come back. We are very pleased

When we went to pursue installation, the other company could no longer could fulfill the installation, and the price would be a lot higher. I searched online to find local companies, and while several had good ratings, many werent responsive. We called several companies to get a quote for wood windows. Several quotes were inflated, or they didnt also provide installation services. We wanted the entire job - purchase, installation and warranty - provided by the same company. Wood Windows furnished us with a quote matching the specs of the unit, matched all of the details, and gave us a price that was consistent with the original quote.They were extremely flexible with installation in a tenant-occupied unit. We had an unexpected delay caused by the tenant, and Wood Windows was really patient and communicative. The installation took longer than theyd planned for, and they took the time to come back after installation to re-seal some areas that required it, making sure the job was done correctly, and within our budget.We are extremely grateful. Highly recommend. I moved during covid, so it was a stressful move! Wood Windows came in and made it easy and wore protective gear as to not spread germs, they had a lot of care. After moving into an incredibly bright and sun filled apartment in Oakland, I knew I needed windows ASAP. I called 10 companies. Everyone was VERY expensive and said it would take at least 2 months. Ivan at Wood Windows and Doors came and conducted a thorough assessment of our windows. The windows are different sizes, so Wood Windows created two separate bespoke installations for us. The production process did take about 4 weeks while, but any good product cannot be manufactured overnight. It is genuinely worth the wait and every penny. I googled Windows Repair and Wood Windows popped up.They called me within 30 minutes after I emailed them, and told me they could have a tech out to my apartment that day to give a quote. Tech arrived within the hour, measured and said they could come back and do it the next day, I then paid a deposit of half the cost to the tech and he left.That afternoon I received a call form their office confirming next day for the techs to come out.The next day they arrived near the end of the time given, took the window sash down to their truck to repair, finished in ~30 minutes, and brought it back up to install it no problem. Work completed! Ivan evaluated 5 sliding doors (circa 1985) and made appropriate repairs so that all parts are in good working order. I found him honest and forthright as well as neat and clean in his work. Installers came prepared with all tools and parts. Ivan also gave us proper instruction on how to care for the doors avoiding grease like products. I would use him again and again but I think we are good for many years to come.

I highly recommend Wood Windows. and am completely satisfied with Ivans work. We had been suffering with a difficult sliding door for over 13 years! He came the next day after I called. Ivan and Diego brought an impressive cart full of tools and took the doors off the track and immediately showed us what the problems were. He had us feel the track and sure enough, it was wavy, causing major difficulty in sliding the doors.Their work took a couple of hours and They repaired not only the rollers but the track as well, cutting a new rail to size and adding some bumper parts to protect the new rail. He also gave us valuable advice on care of the new rollers (do not oil!)Im very glad I called Wood Windows, who provided expert service. He was very thorough in his explanations and his work.As far as price, I had previously called 2 other repair services and one was of a coupon company. Comparing their prices, honestly, it would have come out to be the same price for all the companies, because coupon companies tend to upsell their customers. I was impressed with Ivans professionalism on the phone and I trusted him to be more fair in his estimate. In fact, the prices were exactly as Ivan quoted on the phone.If only we had called years ago! My doors now slide so easily!

It was a very good experience to work with these guys!I had a bunch of rotten windows and they just fixed it without replacing it! It looks good as new I spent almost a year to find a company to do this kind of job as none of what I found were as knowledgeable and reliable as these guys. I had my free estimate scheduled pretty fast and in two weeks they came ant repaired my windows. They were, nice, polite, professional and looks like they know what they are doing.Highly recommend this place!

Beautiful windows and doors again! Our old windows and doors were 20 years old, with clouded panes due to gas leaks. After trying to get bids from four different companies, we decided to go with Wood Windows and Doors. Ivan was the only one to actually give us a quote on site the same day he measured. The other companies reps all had to go back to the office and check with their management before they could bid, and I had a heck of a time getting them to respond weeks after taking measurements. I had them out to replace a few windows with the plan to do a few a year until all of my windows are replaced. I started this project last fall. Wood Windows had the best quote all things considered. They did a nice job and were very professional. Overall, I was very happy with Wood Windows.

Ivan didnt have the lowest price of the contractors, but the price was still very competitive with the other bids specially because Ivan was using African Mahogany Wood vs lower wood quality like Douglas Fir or Pine that other companies were using. Best company ever! They were right on time for our first appointment for my estimate. They worked with me on my budget. They explained in detail exactly what we were getting. Once we place the order for our windows, their timeline for installation was exact. All of the team introduced themselves to me, polite team and hard working. They finished the job ON TIME and when they finished the job, you would never know they were even there, the only exception that we have BEAUTIFUL, QUALITY windows that live up to their reputation!!!! Great customer service! I had a garage door issue last Friday, July 19th and Ivan quickly responded to my text messages with a quote, beating other garage repair companies. He tried to work on our tight schedule that day, since we had to go out of town. To make the story and review short, he sent his installer, a very soft-spoken and well-mannered man (at least from my perspective during our service). I contacted Wood Windows in search of a quality service provider for custom wood windows. Upon calling, Ivan in the office picked up and informed me that it would be best for him to come out and see the work to provide an accurate estimate and that he would follow up later that day to schedule. Just hours later that same day, Ivan informed me that He will be in the area and I happened to be home! Ivan and one of his team members walked the perimeter of the house with me indicating what windows he felt needed attention while being upfront about other areas that looked ok. We agreed on a price that was very fair compared to other estimates I received. Before leaving, I mentioned to Ivan that I had a back door that needed some tune up. Ivan again quoted a very reasonable price and said he would have no problem getting all done. I read in other reviews that Ivan was reasonable and fair with pricing for this work. After continuing to add to the job, I added complexity by saying I needed the work done before my sons bday party which was the following month. Ivan was able to complete the work! My sales agent Ivan was ALWAYS available for any questions by BOTH email and phone throughout the entire process - including a final inspection after the windows were installed. Our building has some very complicated angles and Ruben - lead installation expert - was able to manage them all. The office staff ALWAYS answers the phone and keeps you updated throughout the entire process. Five windows and three swinging doors with transoms replaced. Noise reduced 50-75%.I highly recommend this company!!

Ivan was very knowledgeable and took great care to explain the product, how they would work, and in measuring for the windows themselves. And the 3-man installation crew did careful, meticulous work and an amazingly thorough clean-up job. I have to say WND is definitely a lifesaver. My house is pretty close to Bart Station, which meant loud sirens / traffic / bus noises at all hours. Wood Windows is a First-Rate operation. Lets face it, new windows are an expense proposition so I spent several years getting estimates and trying to find a company that put my mind at ease. My job was extremely complicated. Each window seemed more impossible than the next. Several of the companies I called for an estimate didnt even want to attempt the job.The project included (1) Large Bow Window, (7) Double Hung Windows, (2) Sliders, and (1) Custom Entry Door. Each of my windows offered unique challenges that seemed unfathomable to conquer. You see I live in an old row home in Berkeley. And my home had some very shoddy do-it-yourself window installations and home renovations done Im guessing 3 or 4 decades ago leaving the house in a very bad state.When I saw that Wood Windows seemed to have experience with old homes in the city I gave them a call. Their sales guy Ivan came out to work-up an estimate and immediately put my mind at ease that they had the ability to do the job right. Next, Ruben came out to do the final measurements and again he reinforced the fact that the installers on the Wood Windows team could deal with every issue. And they did.The job took 6 weeks to build and 4 days for the installation with the team being headed by Carlos for the first two days and his main installer Ruben on the final two days. Now to be honest I was alarmed when I saw Ivan for the first time. He looked so young that I made a snap judgement that I was in trouble here.I was dead wrong.Ivan is a true professional leading his team. The guy didnt flinch when I showed him one of worst installations in the house. Nor did he flinch when Carlos pulled off one of the header boards and was hit in the face with a ton of rubble and brick dust. Hes a true professional. Every window his team touched was done with precision. Im still in shock with the care that was taken to make each window perfect.During the second 2 days of the project Carlos headed-up the crew as they installed the large bow window and steel entry door. I contacted this company to get my door lock repair without knowing they specialize in windows/doors replacements, and they responded 4 mins after I sent a request and made sure I was comfortable with the possible outcomes and prices before we took it any further.Great attitude, very caring, They told me they could take care of my door problem, they replaced the lock the same day with a new one.They covered all the areas before they started and clean afterwards, when they finished I ask them to give me a quote for my windows, they were able to repair 3 of my living room windows they tuned up and replaced the ropes the same day.VERY VERY VERY REASONABLE PRICES compared to other locksmiths that tell you the price of installing a new lock only after they drilled your lock.
