My initial interest in the products and services provided by Bananas At Large began with a need for a unique, specific item that was not included with a recent purchase made elsewhere. I required a particular, yet obscure type of audio cord with special connectors for a pair of headphones. The proprietor at Lavish Showroom on 4th street in Santa Rosa, CA answered my inquiry by telling me that I should try Bananas At Large because they have access to everything in the area of audio electronics. The employees I encountered were very encouraging and helpful, informing me that they no longer stocked the item needed but that they could order and have such arrive in short time. Mr Jackson was especially knowledgeable and ordered what I required with the assurance that as soon as possible he would contact me to inform that the product had arrived. The price was reasonable, the personal care was supreme, and the item provides proper utility. I am pleased with the quality of service I received at Bananas At Large and welcome any opportunity to say so with gratitude and appreciation.

One of the best music stores in the Bay Area! Went into try some pedals out for my rig and the staff was so knowledgeable. They were able guide me in the direction for the tone I was searching for. It can be intimidating some times to try out gear in a music store but the staff truly were able to make me feel at home. The staff genuinely loves what they do and it shows. Bananas is always my go-to for musical equipment. They have a lot of gear in stock, and the guys on the sales floor know their stuff. They also are really helpful with young people, and can refer you and them to qualified music teachers. Families who are just starting to explore their kids musical interests will be welcomed and treated well. Bananas is simply where its at for local musicians!

Had issues with drum cases, they were able to direct me to a local resource for help.I accidentally grabbed the wrong drum sticks the other day. They were for a gift. Would rather spend my money here rather than any guitar center because at least everyone here is skilled, passionate, and they don’t give you the impression that theyre only there to pay the bills. They are extremely extremely skilled at what they do. And each of them could write a book about their skills and I’d read it.

I have been oogling musical instruments and accessories at BANANAS many years now...although i lived in Forestville, Windsor and now Santa Rosa, I have shopped at the old location on 5th near the mall in S.R., recently on College Ave. and more than a few times in san Rafael. (Hi Allen!!!) Well, I was looking for a new set of computer speakers/monitors online. my Klipsch just quit! so while looking, the PreSonus I was checking out came up in your store so I dropped the search and called your store on College Ave. I spoke with Jackson, told him what I was looking for and he was very helpful answering my Q&A, confirming that they were in stock and the pricing (equal to online $$$) So...I wanted new speakers like a cpl months ago but had to save a bit. I loved the idea that I could pick them up and not have to wait & worry for and about shipping! When I went in, Jackson was off so I spoke with another young man, a bit short, wavy hair-blue eyes. I told him Id called n talked to Jackson 2 days b4. I was on my mission I guess and my fault I didnt get his name, LOl! However, he was in all respects perfect in sales and customer service. You can always count on the entire staff at Banana’s to be consistently friendly, very courteous and highly knowledgeable. They always maintain a wide variety of electric guitars (and bases) in their inventory, from new to consignment, from entry level to Custom Shop & Boutique builders, as well as carry a decent amount of amps also from entry level to boutique. And if you’re a pedal person they have by far one of the best inventories of stomp boxes (from Boss to Strymon and everything in between) of any store I’ve ever been to in or out of state. The best part is that it’s a true “mom & pop” store and the owner is always available should you need him. They remember your name, they actually ask (just once) if you need any help and if they don’t have what you need or don’t know the answer to a question, they’re honest about it and they actually do follow up with a text/email or call. Highly recommended place for all your gear needs.

I saw an ad for a guitar Id been chasing for a while, so I jumped on their website to pre order it, but was having trouble navigating to the pick up in store part, and I dont exactly live in the best neighborhood, so didnt want it damaged or stolen. I contacted the store and they asked if I wanted help over the phone or I could just come in. I opted for the latter, Zack had already done most of the work before I even arrived, all I had to do was confirm the guitar and model I wanted and that was it. Bananas At Large is my favorite Bay Area music store. They of course stock all your everyday staples such as guitar strings, straps, and picks, plus Fender and Gibson guitars/basses and amps. But they also stock a nice cross section of boutiquey amps and pedals, definitely more than the big box music stores, and typically more than any of the other bay area music stores, large or small. Its expensive to carry inventory these days, but its nice to be able to actually demo gear before you buy.Their personnel is always well versed, friendly, and competent. I highly recommend this San Rafael store, and its sister store in Santa Rosa.

Erik, the manager, diverted me from a potentially dumb purchase, and after advising me, settled on a better solution, more apt for my situation, and while I might have saved a few bucks by opting for an online solution, I feel that the personalized service I always receive (not to mention the instant gratification of taking my purchases with me RIGHT THERE), is absolutely worth it! I found the customer service to be excellent and the prices really reasonable. They actually have left handed instruments to choose from, which can be hard to find at brick and mortar music stores. Overall my experience buying a guitar there was awesome.

They were nice but kept pestering me if I wanted to buy the bass guitar that I was trying out, I was only playing for 10 minutes then they keep asking if I wanted to buy it, then by minute 15 they just went and decreased my volume, I dont know bout you guys but I like to hear the instrument that Im trying out to see if I really like it, if you guys cant handle noise, being it is an instrument shop with loud amps, maybe you guys should work at a library. I felt rushed to try it out and when I was on the fence about it, they politely took the bass from me, left feeling a lil bit dissapointed with the whole experience.

I love Bananas! I always love a good excuse to stop by. Last time I was there a month ago, I went to buy a cable, and I ended up checking out a short scale Gretsch. I went back to buy it yesterday! Evan was great in helping in me out! But everyone there is always so nice and helpful!

I love having a local place that I can go and spend money at I know that I can buy quality but that is only when there is quality there. I popped in today cuz I havent been in a while due to covered and acoustic, electric and base sections are all filled out okay. But the drum section is a joke. maybe its just me and I dont know any part of that business but its in sad shape. No cymbals to choose from quality wise. Bananas at large is better than that please bump up the drum section. Im giving you five stars just based off of all of the team that works there theyre all good sales people and Ill do their job they just dont have a whole lot of tools to work with.
