Honestly, I’ve been to so many music stores over the course of my life that I had low expectations. I’m happy to report that the Magic Flute is a totally rad, super friendly/helpful/family oriented music shop. I recommend them! Will helped us find a 1/4 sized violin for my son, and he was incredibly kind and patient. We’ll be coming back.

As I have experienced in the past, the Magic Flute staff was helpful and informative as I was looking into instruments. They took time to answer my questions and provide info for a good decision. I am very pleased as always with their friendly service, their selection of options and quality of their products. Great experience.

The Magic flute is my favorite store to shop for music and it’s an even better take online piano and singing lessons. My instructor Willa gives me the best tips and encouragement. I used to pay for an online app to learn piano but having and instructor has improved my practice 1000%. Because of her I can play a full song in just over a month. And my confidence is blooming! I bought a Breedlove Guitar online for a fair price. They communicated very quickly with me and kept me aware of the progress of the order. They shipped it out fast, although FedEx delayed the delivery a bit (Definitely not the Magic Flute’s fault!)They packed the guitar well, and it is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. Plays great. Looks great.I don’t buy many instruments online due to the potential of damage but I’ll definitely consider buying from them again due to the great experience I had.

My favorite music store in Marin. The staff is super friendly and they have an amazing selection of ukuleles (my main instrument). They also do a great job with repairs. My uke had a terrible buzz from a broken bridge and it now sounds beautiful.

I have used Christian. for 4 different guitars. They needed everything from a simple setup up to repairing a bashed in top. I was very happy with his work and plan to continue taking my guitars to him at Magic Flute.

Great selection of Instruments, Sheet Music and good advice. It is a classic music store that has orchestral instruments as well as guitars, ukuleles, banjos and piano keyboards. For the music lover, it is a candy store. The have one of the largest ukulele selections in Marin County. Cant say enough kind words about this place.

Five star service in all aspects. The guitar is exactly as described and photographed. Fast shipping, professional packing, and personal communication. FedEx had a short delay on their end and Will (I believe) followed up with a confirmation that it would arrive the following day. That’s taking an extra step that shows they really care.

I went in there looking for a shoulder rest for my daughters violin. She is just newly starting violin at school and we have no idea on sizing the instrument or anything. They were very helpful and able to find the right sized part based on the measurement I approximated. Overall very good customer service! I’ll go back there again!

I brought my 3 year old son into Magic Flute (first time I’ve stepped inside this store since I was a 3rd grader buying a recorder) and it was the best experience ever. This venue has been great for the last 30 years that I have known them, since childhood and now as a parent. Always ready to help and very efficient even during busy start of school year. The Magic Flute is the best music store in Marin! Everyone there is always super friendly and helpful, and very knowledgeable about whatever you’re asking for. They are great at taking care of their customers, and helping you find the instrument or piece of equipment that is perfect for you. And if they don’t have the specific thing you are looking for, they are great at ordering it for you. I took guitar lessons at the Magic Flute for about 10 years, and I now do all of my music shopping there.

The staff at Magic Flute is friendly, helpful, kind, and never condenscending. Ive gotten my guitar fixed at the shop at a fair price. My children have been fitted there with both rental and new instruments over the years. Weve always been well counseled about renting versus buying, and when to rent and when to buy. When I was a newbie, Mike, who is awesome, helped me pick out a Martin guitar. He played a range of guitars for me, up and down in price and tone, so I could hear the pros and cons of each. That was nearly fifteen years ago. I still love the shop. Its like Cheers, a place where everyone knows your name, and are glad to help out.

Super convenient, reliable, and friendly. I decided to pick up an instrument for the first time during lockdown, and Magic Flute was great for getting me all set up (instrument rental, books, accessories, etc.). Once I knew I was going to stick with it, I started taking lessons through Magic Flute and that has been going great as well. Crystal is an awesome violin instructor!

I have been going to Magic Flute for over 30 years, but it had been awhile since my last visit. Today was my first visit to the magic flute, and I cannot sing their praises loudly enough! The Magic Flute is the BEST! We always used them to rent instruments for the kids when they were younger. But this year my 29 year old son started teaching himself guitar. He bought an old second hand guitar and spent a lot of time and has become quite good. SO for Christmas I decided to buy him a nice guitar that wouldnt break the bank. Mike was BEYOND helpful in choosing the right guitar for my son, as well as accessories to go with it. My son was so happy - he didnt stop playing all Christmas day! and it was a gift that keeps giving, because he gave his sister his old guitar, and is teaching her to play!

The magic flute has been an incredible resource for our family. We’ve been getting our children’s school instruments here for many years. During ‘shelter in place’ we started our 12 year-old daughter with ukulele lessons with Willa. Willa has been exceptional. So kind, supportive, and educational for our daughter. Five starts for the Magic Flute and if it were an option, 10 stars for Willa!

I just had excellent shopping experience, purchasing a flute for my soon-to-be 9 yrs old girl. I did some research online and decided to buy a flute from Yamaha authorized dealer instead of risking on Amazon/e-bay for cheaper price.I had my budget, considering her age, beginner player, but she has shown interest almost 6 months with a recorder and a pianica at home. She plays everyday without me telling her to do unlike other 2 kids of mine.Spike has explained me difference of flutes, by brand, level, type of metal, keys etc and showed me several flutes, and talked about options, which was the best part, I was able to buy a Yamaha flute 200 series that was for renting but still quite new (that also come with 1 yr warranty).I couldn’t be more happier than this!! I’ll take back the flute for maintenance and visit for another instrument for renting or buying in future.

They went above and beyond finding me a mouth piece for my trombone after I had lost $300 worth of them. They put one on hold (which was in my price range) but changed my mind last second. They gave me a discount since I’m low on cash at the moment and I just really appreciate that kindness. I took lessons there as a teenager and everything and I’ve had instruments repaired and it’s always great, punctual customer service. I’ve probably been a customer for over 10 years and they’re still as friendly as the very first time I went in and would bang on their drums at 10. And they just knew I was kid who loved music so they’d let me go to town on everything, even tought me a few chords on the guitar. Now I play 9different instruments professionally and I’m not giving them all the credit, but they were definitely there when I needed help. Great shop and staff!

Great locally owned and managed musical instrument store and music center. Their main guitar setup person, Christian, is the owner, he does excellent setup work. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, fair prices. Im a semi pro musician, they serve most of my equipment needs, but they really cater to kids, families, beginners.

I have had a great experience with The Magic Flute. We are on our third violin (over 3.5 years) from them and every transaction has been a pleasure. They are very helpful, patient and honest. Each time they have helped us to find the best instrument at the right intersection of price/out of pocket spend and quality of sound. They have never tried to push us into more expensive instruments, even when we have inquired about them. I very much appreciate the honesty particularly since I am not very knowledgeable in this area. Their rent to own and trade-in/trade-up program is great and has served us well as we moved from 1/4 all the way to full sized violin. I highly recommend The Magic Flute.
