I dont recommend this business to anyone. I ordered a laptop from them through Walmart. It was advertised as having an i5 processor and the one I received had I3. The box it came in was concerning. It had holes in it like handles and tge computer was not wrapped to protect it from moisture or bouncing around in the box.
First Of All I Am Using A Friends Computer As While Waiting For Comptek To Get This Situation In Hand, Mine Has Since Bit The Dust, So I Am NOT Mr. Watson But Mr. Barr Merely Using His Computer. I Am A Disabled Senior On A Limited Income, I Trusted These People In Good Faith While Placing My Order On FEB 03, And Due On My Doorstep NO LATER THAN FEB 12, YET On FEB 11, It Had Not Even Been Shipped Out From Their Location, After Further Delays It Arrived On My Doorstep MARCH 01, The Box Had Been Taped Poorly, Was Open On One End, NO INVOICE OR PAPERWORK, Just A Lap Top And Cord, And After Connecting To My WI-FI it Was USELESS With TWO Dead Keys, SO After All This, I Had To RE-Package, Drive To A FED EX In Order To Return The Item, And IF Not ENOUGH OF A HASSEL I Am Left Without Not Only A Computer But My Money Until I Get A Refund, THEY HAVE SHOWN NO COMPASSION OR CONCERN, MY ADVICE? GO ELSEWHERE !! Why Promote Bad Business?
Ive used this shop before to replace a screen on a laptop, she was very quick and affordable. Recently took a desktop to be fixed, after my sons failed attempt to do it himself, she couldnt figure out what the problem was. When I picked it up, the $400 processor was just thrown in the case, not happy about that. Ended up the new motherboard just needed reset. To be fair, my son had damaged the pins on the processor, but was easily fixed and the computer is working fine now. Doubt Ill be returning.
Did not go there
Couldnt get windows to launch on my computer! She had it fixed within an hour and a half and was super nice and informative and it was very cheap! Will take all my computer issues to her oif I have any issues in the future!!
Fixed my phone within 30min!
I tell everyone to go there cause she is really affordable and friendly I highly recommend it 😍😍😍
Fast and reasonable! Very pleased! She fixed my problem right away, and unlike other places - didnt gouge me. Not a fancy place, but good work.
I have taken 2 computers here. She did an excellent job with both!! The first she had to combine two computers to help me repair the one I accidentally poured water in. The second about a year later was my mothers computer, she tried everything to fix it up, it was VERY old. Still had XP home on it. =) We eventually had to buy a new one from her, she gave us credit for the money we paid in repairs on the old one, plus put XP pro, and a nice free anti-virus on the new one. Everything was a great price and done right away. I recommend her.
Great customer service! Great prices!
@Will Davis -- Hard drives dont necessarily need reasons to die and can happen suddenly. Alternatively, there are several things that could have killed it as you removed the drive from the computer you slaved it to backup the data to the time you handed it to this business. Examples would be vibrations in handling, static shock (dont even have to feel it to be deadly to electronics) to simply bad luck and bad timing. For your Vista issue, per Microsofts licenses, they cannot give you a CD, pirate a CD, even though you have the code. As the end user, its your own responsibility to keep track of the CD and if necessary, call Microsoft to order another one. They could be heavily fined for violating that.Just trust that there are other explanations for the way things are done before you put people or businesses on blast.
Didnt bye or have work done but very helpful and friendly
My review is a past experience and happened sometime in the past year.Brought in my laptop. I had to format it thanks to a terrible virus. I did not have a copy of vista sitting around and didnt want to pay a billion dollars for another copy. Asked comptek to reinstall vista and use the serial code underneath. (Note: I checked the hard drive, check disk, and even plugged the hard drive into my desktop and was able to use it)After a day of not hearing I called her. No work had been done supposedly. So waited. Called back again near the end of the day. Now all of a sudden my hard drive had failed, and she couldnt install vista. Her solution was to replace my harddrive for 60 bucks(which really probably cost 15-25 bucks on ebay) and to sell me a copy of vista for 70 bucks.(Remember I had serial code on the bottom which meant i could get it for free) At this point I was mad. Went to get my laptop back. immediately came home and plugged my hard drive back into my desktop and lo and behold it no longer worked. I know for a fact it was working because I was able to recover most of my files from it before I formatted it. That being said whatever happened to my harddrive happened while in her care, whether she swapped them out or did something to it. Either way she tried to overcharge me for the hard drive and charge me for the copy of vista that I already had a serial key for(which is what you are paying for when you buy vista software) and possibly tried to scam me. I would be wary of going here. I dont know if she really has no idea what she is doing or was just trying to make an easy buck(as I didnt tell her of my personal knowledge of computers which would rival a geek squad employee).
Excellent service and reasonably priced.
Good work at a good price
Mostly overpriced. They sell old Dell D600s for $150.
