I went into Sandusky POP to look for Pokémon celebration stuff. Was excited to see them stocked up. However I noticed prices were more than double and triple on everything. The girl that works there was kinda snobby and had the “take it or leave it” attitude. I am glad I did not give them any money. I found everything at fair prices elsewhere . DO NOT SHOP HERE.

The Pop Shop is a pretty solid place if you want table top games or old action figures. But, their trading cards, Pokémon in particular are way over priced. They price their cards for 2 times the price, even on release day. Makes it easy to find the cards you want but only if you’re willing to pay twice the amount you would anywhere else.

I visited pops shop because they specialize in comics. Last week, I went in to get more information about a first gen comic book hoping to get some answers on potential value and if I should get the book graded. The owner tells me he can only appraise or tell me a accurate price/condition only if they can handle the book and take it out of the protective sleeve. Which I agree too only if the book was not worth much, if however the book was worth hundreds to thousands of dollars just leave it in the protective sleeve to minimize handling and damage. This is common place for having a potentially high value item. So the old guy who is the owner gets frustrated and says he can’t do business with me. As I’m leaving I say I will right a review, I then walk to my car. The owner then storms out of the store. Forces me to role my window down and goes off on me about leaving a review. He said I have no right because I brought the book in which that doesn’t mean your customer service should decline because I might offer you my item. Basically, he came up to my care screaming and yelling and basically wanted to fight me, then backed down and threatened me to never come back and he will call the cops.I simply just wanted more information on the book bc I am not sure what I have. I wanted to get it graded but this very sour taste in my mouth has made me hold off. I was a frequent shopper at this location and I will never I repeat NEVER go back to this local shop.Please be safe when visiting everyone!I hope the owner reads this a publicly apologizes for his stubborn ways and realizes he was in the wrong for his actions. Very unprofessional. If you comment just say you’ll do better next time thanks .

Great store with a wide variety of board games and comics. Staff is really friendly too. I would recommend stopping by if youre in town for Cedar Point.

Super clean very organized. Prices were extremely fair. Large selection of table top game pieces was well as solid backstock of comics. Was very easy to navigate and there was not typical “comic book guy” working. Thank god. They have open space for different card tournaments I will definitely be back.

I can not begin to exaggerate how competent, friendly, and cordial the staff is. I won’t do business with anyone else other than The Pop Shop for anything from card games to comic books, board games to Warhammer, D&D to Funko figures. My 9 year old son just started getting into pokemon. Both gentlemen were very helpful and answered every question he had. We definitely will be back!

First time in this shop today, thinking it had video games and such. Despite this being a different kind of store, the owners and Liz especially were amazing. Very welcoming and willing to chat. Even recommended a few good places to go to help me on my search. Any store this this level of customer service and professionalism is worth shopping at. Might even pick up a new hobby just to have an excuse to frequent this location!

I was on vacation and stopped by there twice in two days. The selection of cards they have is far, FAR, superior to what my lgs where I usually go is and I fully intend to visit them on my next trip to the area.

Been going to the owners business for over 21 yrs. This place has good selection of comic books, collectible figures, tabletop games and card games. Prices are slightly higher than can find online but any true gamer knows to support where they play. Dave and his crew are great people thay try to get the customer what they want.

Great local shop with a nice selection of dice, games, figures, comics and more. Kelsi and CJ were awesome. My little nerdy heart is happy. Will definitely be back!

Went for comic books and they had a somewhat large selection ranging from all years... Many seem priced at the low-end of retail value.

Got some dice and miniatures here for dnd the owner was very friendly and it reflected in the other patrons as I held a conversation with them. Overall great place very large game selection (board and other, not video) so would recommend to stopping in if your looking for something.

This place is amazing! My girlfriend grew up in the area and everytime we come back in town we make sure to stop in and check out the wares. Great store with great people and great products!

For being the pop shop they had no selection but if your into magic cards they got you covered big let down drove 2 hours to get there!

The pop shop is a great place to visit. Everyone is always polite and willing to help. They will strike up a conversation with you. They make you feel welcome in the store. They have a vast knowledge of comic books as well as games. So for anything you are looking for stop in and ask, Im sure they might be able to help you.

They have like every Pokémon holo you could ever need.(Base set-Current) English/Japanese. Stacks of base set, base 2 charizards. Will for sure be going back !!!! Lots of magic the gathering and comics as well.

Its not often that I go into a nerd shop and feel welcome. There are generally a lot of gatekeepers at places like these. Not here. They go out of their way to make burgeoning geeks feel at home. Games played regularly, and theres so much pop culture detritus to dig elbow deep into.

Amazing shop! Hands down the coolest themed shop I have ever been in.

Has a bit of everything for the pop culture fanatic. Also has a good sized gaming area and great selection and stock of card and board games. Even has the best selection of used toys Ive seen in the greater northern Ohio area. I usually get all my collector transformers from here.

Neat shop. They have all kinds of stuff in there. I was only there for comic books. They have magic the gathering, pop figures, toys, and more. Prices seemed ok.

Fun times on Friday Night Magic. Last night there were about 50 people there. They were all very friendly, one of the customers taught my son and I how to play the card game Magic: The Gathering. We bought two Planeswalker Decks and some booster packs. My son has been talking about it all night and this morning too. We are returning today.

This store has a large selection of current and older comics. The customer service is good, very friendly people. They dont always know everything about comics, but they look up any questions I had on their computers. My kids like the card games there also. They tend to go there to play weekly. This is a great family friendly shop.

Great environment here, always kept clean and they have a great selection for any of your interests, and if they dont have what you are looking for, they will often order it if they can! And finally, all around great, friendly, and dedicated staff and owner! These guys really bring together a fantastic community that I am proud to be a part of.

Its your average comic shop. I dont live here and just stopped by to look through back issues. Seemed like they had a very strong MTG crowd. Good prices.

I came into the shop last weekend and was greeted right away. I looked around and when I hadnt found what I was looking for, I was shown directly to where the items in question were. I asked about something that was unavailable and they ordered it for me and it arrived within a few days.I also came in Thursday for the Dungeons and dragons campaign and was greeted and welcomed and had a great time creating my character and playing.

Love this store. Awesome customer service.My family and I visit once a year on vacation, we have always been treated like regular visitors. The store has an awesome selection of toys, cards, and comics. The toys are at a more than fair price, either out of the package or mint in box. Classic Star Wars and G.I. Joe toys as well as He-Man and Marvel. Something for everyone with world class service.

Good store, solid selection of lots of comics and collectibles. They have a huge amount of MTG cards. Only complaint is sometimes they forget to pull comics that you have on your pull list. Friendly and helpful workers.

The owner of the store is extremely nice, they have a nice mix of different things as far as vintage goes, not a lot of high priced items but thats not really there fault. overall I really like the store and hope they work on pricing on a few things, saw some things that were priced high and to low so there is give and take, overall a nice store though!

I used to be a a frequent shopper at the Pop Shop when they used to be on Perkins Ave. Back then they seemed more comic book centric and I loved it. Now at their second location since then and merging with The Hero Zone I have given up on this store. They have no gone more board/card game centric and their comic book selection seems to be dwindling as they focus on other things. As my past recent trips here it seems like the patrons that visit to game seem to stink up the place and now I cannot stomach visiting here anymore. I used to love this place so much and it has seem to fallen so far away from what used to draw me in weekly. If your looking for an honest comic book shop with a huge selection take a little trip and go to Rupps Comics in Fremont, you wont be disappointed.

Called over the phone had a couple items placed on hold for me. All working! Great place for some retro shopping. Tons of cards and comics! Will be calling more and buying from them again.

Used to shop here and the staff is friendly but I recently got out of magic so I took my cards and the lady there only looked at maybe 3 or 4 cards and said the hole box of like thousands of cards were worth $2. Kinda of upsetting when I purchased cards worth way more then that. I was willing to even help her go threw the cards. Just wish she would have taken the time too look.

First off you are getting a 1 star rating becase I have to rate you to comment and it seems to fit anyways. I was interested in the store and reading some reviews and its complete nonsense. When you as the owner write customers that had bad experiences there, you belittle them and are cocky as hell to them. Why not act like a owner and try to talk and figure the situation out? Instead of trying to show yourself off and act all high and mighty. Owners that are rude and treat customers with a review they do not like, dont last long. Now feel free to belittle me and my statement, since thats what you seem to good at.

I visited the Pop! Shop today for my weekly Funko Pop! hunt / haul. During which time, I was able to have an indepth conversation with the owner, an employee and a customer. First off, Id like to say that I sincerely love this place. My wife and I have been to this store approximately 4 times and we never leave empty handed and always look forward to coming back soon. Their pricing is fair and their Funko Pop! product selection is good. Their customer service is amazing!I hope to see their Funko Pop! inventory grow so I can spend more money. lol The owner seemed excited to embrace the Funko Pop! community scene. We had discussions of possible Funko Pop! events, celebrity signings and even offering collectors a place to socialize to trade / sell / buy collections.To date, Ive purchased approximately 30 pops from this store and I couldnt be happier with their customer service.
