I love Save-A-Lot! You can always find a good spot to park, the store has a wide variety of items, and the people that work there are so friendly. If you want a stress free shopping experience I would recommend going there.

I grew up in Sandusky oh and as a child me and my mom would come here i never liked it but as any other kid grocery shopping & cleaning were the worst things but now as an adult I live in NM now we dont have a save a lot Im coming back home in august and this will be one of my stops for my vacation Ive thought about this place for the past 2 yrs of wanting to go shop because those prices are unbeatable.

Not real busy. Got everything I needed and got out. Problems putting groceries in car. May try delivery.

They carry things not available elsewhere and do so at a reasonable price.

Good selection of Food. They sell Beer now which is a plus. Found Boneless skinless chicken thighs which the larger store didnt have and also corn husks for tamales . Nice

This save a lot store is the only one I know of in Sandusky. But I am glad that the workers are nice and friendly. And the store is always clean and the location is not bad ither. Great great store even tho in Sandusky it is the only option for going to a save a lot

So I have always done my shopping at this exact store for the past several years.And typically buy a lot and typically there are usually people behind me. BUT I am not sure but was told several months ago that this store (referenced above) has a new owner so maybe some kind of store policy about this has changed (BUT i doubt it). Either way, so I was in line already placing my groceries on the conveyor, the cashier had not started ringing up my items yet, BUT NO ONE was behind me. Then as I continue to place my items on the belt - a man with one item walks up - the cashier says well, Im going to go ahead and take him next, since he only has one item - meanwhile, as I stated I had already started placing my items up on the conveyor (yet she hadnt started scanning any of it) and as I said, he was NOT behind me when I first began placing my items on the conveyor. So once she stated that to me yes, I looked at her funny because I couldnt believe her audacity to ask, like my time is less important than the man who had just walked up, but I said yep - go ahead. I gave that response because I was raised to not cause a scene in public places, because I could have responded in the way in which I would have liked to and then I would have been wrong. HOWEVER - I feel it was completely rude for this cashier to tell me, Im going to just take him next, since he only has one item. First of all it wasnt busy in there - I was standing there first, and was placing my things on the belt before the man had even approached the line, secondly, if she would have been scanning the items I had already placed up on the belt, things would have been moving along smoothly and the man with the ONE item would have gotten through the line just fine. My main issue it that, this man was not even standing behind me PREVIOUS to me placing several items on the belt. I could understand if he had been behind me the whole time - hell, I would have asked him did he want to go in front of me. But - i feel it was rude and motivated by some other reason I will not even write, as to why that mans time was more important - and the funny part is - his card declined. Some folks feel like they are more privileged to do whatever it is they want simply because others who also have that same privilege let them know THEIR time is more important than others time . Read between the lines on that and youll get my drift.This store (from what I can tell), over the last 4 months or so, has replaced ALL the original people who have been there from previous times Ive been in there, and the selections of things are sparse and/or somethings have become non-existent. I shop at this store because it is the cheapest place that is closest to me, being that I am legally blind and do not drive - I really have no other choices near me for grocery shopping that is affordable. But after that happening today, coupled with the lack of selections as of late, maybe I will start shopping at Aldi from now on.

It been a long time since I have been in there. Found everything that I was looking for.

I was so glad that there was a sav a lot in sandusky. I was driving to toledo from port clinton.

My husband and I had just moved to the area two months ago & the last two times we came here for food, we had gotten mean and cheese & the meat was bad. Had a bad smell and everything. Turning brown. We did not notice it until we had gotten home & I separated the meats. Also, the cheese had mold on it. & when we were shopping in the store, I had to tell them that there was mold on their cheese also. Thought it was only that one. Guess not. I usually love Save a lot, but this one just keeps giving me bad experiences. The people who work there, for the food, need to do a better job at what they are doing. Will no longer be shopping here.

The prices were high on most items, the limited selection of produce was of poor quality, and the cashier was on a personal phone call the entire time she checked me out. There were a couple of good deals on some large packs of meat, but that was the only positive thing from that store.

This Save-A-Lot store has excellent prices. Its much easier to feed a family by shopping here than say, a Krogers, Meijers and even Walmart. Admittedly the structure and set up of Save-A-Lot isnt as pretty and polished as other stores but they get to the heart of the matter and pass the savings to their customers instead of making us paying for the maintenance of the pretty and polished look. The only reason I did not give them five stars was because there is always a long wait to check out. It seems like most of the time they only have one cashier available. Ive seen a lot of unpleasant reactions directed at the cashier. I think if they had two cashiers during busier times, it would cut down on the negativity aimed at these folks and make happier employees which would definitely be noticed by the customers.

Its close by since my Cardinal store closed. Prices are good. Nice selection of meat.

The only reason why I rated this for stars is because I am not a Save-A-Lot Shopper person I dont care for some of their products so I would rather go somewhere else but if youre in a hurry and youre right there might as well but what products I do like I like but the store on hand was clean and friendly people and they work fast

Shop here for years. Prices are always amazing and the food is great. You have to bag your own food but thats not a problem.

It was fully stocked with great prices.

The manager at the Sandusky Ohio store has been replaced. In just 1 month signs are clear and where they should be and the mysteriousmeat rot smell is gone!Good job to him and the other new employees and especially one cashier who didnt jump ship when things were bad!

This grocery store often has good buys on family packages of meat. I went in for the family pack of ribeye steaks... only $4.99/lb!!

They rarely have enough meat thats advertised on sale.. Very disappointing.

Ok grocery store. Dont carry many name brands

A manager told a sick cashier if she left she was not to come back-ever in front of me. I asked him if he seriously just fired an employee in front of customers and he looked at me dumbfounded. The store itself left a lot to be desired, but the firing of the ill employee in front of customers was horribly unprofessional and I will never support this business again becsuse of that reason.

Staff is always unfriendly and rude. All of them its like the Hire only rude disrespectful people. However great deals in the store. Your staff sucks tho.
