I have been in yes magic twice and have loved it both times the first time I walked in I was just starting in magic and I left with three new tricks. Then second time I was better in magic and was just browsing and left with something. The employees inside treat you like family and whenever I am in Florida I always pick a day to go.
Ive been going to the store for a while now (back when it was in Artegon). I collect playing cards and have a family history of magic. I also use magic in my classroom as a form of engagement for the students as well as memorable moments for the lesson. Ian never fails to help me find something cool to use. Cant recommend the store enough. They arent the type that will try to sell you on useless gimmicks that break on the way home. Everyone who works there truly loves the craft and wants to share it with the customers.
While vacationing in a Florida (from Canada). Made a special trip (because the website looked great and the ratings were all great) to the mall. The malls sign didnt include Yes magic, so we walked around the mall randomly hoping that the sign was wrong. When we found the shop, the only employer was out feeding the rabbits, and the store gate was closed. After 20 minutes he came back and we were let inside to find out most things were sold out and a lot of the products that are shown online dont ever get shipped to the store. I tried to ask about a couple different effects, to which I was told either sold out or we dont carry that. The effects the cashier did show us, were quick and seemingly rushed (he showed us the quick immediate effect of the trick outside of a performance, which did not motivate me to buy anything). The employee seemed to feel bad that they didnt have much in stock and wrote down the name of a another shop that would have more in stock (sadly, we didnt have the time to go there). After everything, I walked out with 3 decks of cards because we had already come such a long way and I didnt want to leave empty handed after a lame experience.1 star to try and balance out these ratings...
The first time I saw this store I walked right past without a second thought. The second time I was at the Artegon Marketplace, my friends wanted to check out the inside of the store. Not being a huge magic person I was hesitant, but the owners friend (the only other co-worker) drew us in with her kindness. I normally like to get in and out of stores if I know I am probably not buying anything, but she felt more like a friend than a sales clerk. She entertained us for a long time with the fun little magic tricks, and in the end I ended up buying something to help out the shop. She was in no way pushy, and she even stayed past closing time just to hang out with us. Would recommend this shop to anyone, cannot wait to pass by the Artegon Mall again!
Very cool magic do. A little of everything and the owner knows how to hustle each of every trick. Not quite theater magic for kids, but not the place where pros can get some of the essentials!
Im a magician i love magical things but not too many items here
