Ive never written a review of a company before, but have to make special note of the excellent service and support we received from the team at Urban Optics — with a special shout out to Marie! My daughter has extremely bad vision, and coke bottle doesnt even begin to describe her lenses. For 27 years shes been embarrassed by her glasses and did everything in her power to NOT wear them. Marie worked with her to find the perfect frames, and now my daughter wears them nearly every day ... voluntarily! Why? Because she thinks they ...look so good. Thank you Marie and the entire team, these frames are a breakthrough.

I gave Urban Optics a call to schedule a very long overdue eye exam and get new glasses/contacts. I scheduled an appointment for 2 weeks out and was happy to have done so very quickly. A few hours later, Johanna called me back and told me that there was a last minute cancellation for that day and asked if I would like to come in. I was impressed that she thought of me and made time to give me a call to fit me in! My experience at the office was great, Johanna, Jackie, and Marie were all very friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. Jackie took the time to explain all of the tests in detail and answered any questions I had. And Marie worked with me to find the perfect pair of eyeglasses without any pressure to buy. Dr. Z listened to my concerns and addressed them by suggesting NeuroLens eye glasses. Theyre pricey and not covered by insurance, but I was ready to pay to ensure I would no longer have eye strain, neck strain, dizziness, and headaches. They offered it as a solution and again, no pressure to buy. I will update when I receive my glasses. But my experience overall was phenomenal and I would highly recommend them!

I have severe dry eyes due to many factors. Dr Zucker prescribed a complete treatment program including low level light therapy and I have gotten excellent response. and am very grateful!

While cycling yesterday visiting your beautiful city. Something got inside my right eye. Slightly painful. Seeing ( haha) I live in Bay Area and would not be returning until the end of week. I decided to take a risk and call urban optics! The front office staff was epic and sincere. They called my optometrist in SF to make sure they had all the necessary information so that Dr. Z. Could do a through exam. Fortunately, nothing was present in my eye. Woohoo! Dr. Z gave me some eye drops to administer for a few days to ease the discomfort. All and all I am super impressed by Dr. Z and his staff!! BTW I did not have an appointment and they still made time! Urban optics went above and beyond!

Booking my appointment was easy breezy, no long waiting times once I arrived for my eye exam, the exam was thorough, and I am very happy with the progressive lenses I ordered. I got married in Santa Barbara this weekend and somehow managed to rip both my contacts the morning of my wedding. Amber was AMAZING and was able to quickly work with my optometrist in Santa Barbara to make sure I had a new pair in plenty of time for my wedding. She was so fast and polite and I am so thankful she was able to get a replacement pair for me so quickly!!! Great customer service.

The people who work at Urban Optics were great from beginning to end. My eye exam was calm and relaxed, and the technician was happy to answer any questions I had about the different tests. Dr. Zucker is very professional and walks you through the advanced exam and the results step by step. When it came to selecting glasses, the staff was very knowledgeable about the different options manufacturers and never did I feel pressured to make any rushed decisions. My husband and I have been going to Urban Optics for almost 5 years. Dr. Zucker offers a lot more than eye exams for reading. He is set up to do eye disease prevention/treatment also. I came here for my first eye exam and to get my first pair of glasses and had a great experience. I was helped by Jenna who made the experience completely easy. The service I was given was exceptional and the doctor was just as great. Very friendly and helpful. **Full Disclosure - I am a current team member at Urban Optics**I have been getting headaches and migraines for about 2-3 years. One of my colleagues pointed out that I was complaining about getting a headache every single day. I discussed my symptoms with Dr. Zucker and he recommended I tried wearing NeuroLens glasses since the contoured prism helps relieve these symptoms, along with many more! I still cannot believe the difference these lenses have made! I have yet to experience a headache or a migraine since I started wearing these glasses! I have also dealt with dry eyes for many many years. I had gotten used to adding drops almost daily for relief. I was caught off guard a few days ago when I suddenly realized I have not used any drops in weeks! My symptoms arent very severe, but I can say I have seen a huge improvement. I had a great experience at urban optics, from the staff and the overall positive atmosphere from the shop. Alittle background, I was undiagnosed for months and stumbled across urban optics, as I believed my eyes were the main culprit, even though the optometrist at my medical group were saying otherwise. I was having headaches, eye fatigue/strain, motion sickness, dizziness, etc. I researched what could be wrong with my eyes and came across binocular vision dysfunction and urban optics website. I immediately made an appointment and was glad I did, as I finally had a diagnosis and treatment.Dr. Zucker and the Urban Optic staff have been incredibly helpful as Ive had to make adjustments with my neuro lens, getting appointments, and answering questions that Ive had. I would recommend this group to anyone having eye problems.Thank you Dr. Zucker and your staff!

Im not sure whether to rave about the team or the results first, but Ill start with the life changing results. Dr. Zucker identified that I was a candidate for the Nuerolens, which I was initially a bit skeptical about. Why I characterize the results as life changing is that I went from having headaches four to five day per week (usually waking up with them) to having headaches about once every three weeks since I receiving my new glasses/lenses. If you suffer from frequent headaches you know how much they impact your life. So, not only am I getting a better nights rest, Im also no longer taking an excessive amount of Excedrin to minimize the headaches. I would have spent thousands to stop having such frequent headaches.Hopefully youre still with me because the team at Urban Optics is equally incredible (ok, hard to say equal to a life with less pain, but you get the idea). Their service is astounding! And, each one of them is patient and kind. My experiences; they made as many adjustments as necessary to my frames as necessary until they fit perfect...never making me feel like a nuisance; they remembered my name (by face) the second time I walked in the Center; they exchanged my frames when I didnt quite like the appearance after wearing them a couple of weeks. To the last point, I chose the original frame and they incurred the expense of manufacturing the lenses...when I changed my mind, I only had to pay the difference in the cost of the frame - they covered the added expense of fitting new lenses...not because I convinced them - because they stand behind what the do and their customers satisfaction.They are a small town business with the refined skills and expertise of an enterprise organization.

Ive had consistently good to great experiences here, spanning general eye exams to contact lens fittings to last-minute visits.I was most impressed when I woke up on a Saturday morning a few weeks ago with an extremely irritated eye. Feeling concerned but not feeling like it warranted a trip to urgent care, I called the office for advice/help. The staff helped me get in contact with Dr. Zucker who was kind enough to meet me at the office that afternoon for an exam within the hour. Exam done, questions answered, concerns taken seriously, I left the office with the prescription and my eye was much better within a day. I find it very rare to get that level of personal attention in any encounter with a medical establishment (short of an emergency situation). UO has set a new high bar for me.

Dr. Zucker has the latest technology and staff were very thorough and friendly. I used to experience migraine headaches until visiting Dr. Zucker. No other doctor tested my eye alignment so thoroughly. Dr. Zucker prescribed neurolenses for me, and I have not had a migraine since. It took a little awhile for my eyes to adjust, but now feels great. Timothy did a great job explaining the process. Thank you to Dr. Zucker and his staff for improving my quality of life.

Going into Urban Optics after Dr. Neel has left, I was a little unsure of how my experience with the new doctor would turn out. The fear like most loyal clients probably would have... To be honest, I had no knowledge of Dr. Zucker prior and did not really know what to expect with the change of ownership. I was greeted as soon as I walked in (just like usual) and Katie and Amber were both super sweet and helpful. Dr. Zucker came and introduced himself; what impressed me was how patient he was explaining each and every question I had. He didnt seem annoyed at all but patiently and very willingly explained to me about my eyes condition and even shared some interesting eye knowledge that I never truly understood before. After my checkup, Amber and Katie helped me to choose my new frame and wanted to make sure I would make the best use out of my insurance. It took a little longer than I thought my entire visit would have been, but it was well worth it. What a good work break I took! I felt that everyone works there cares a lot about their customers and wants to make sure all of their clients are receiving the best service out of each visit - well, at least thats how I felt. Awesome location in downtown Santa Barbara with close-by parking for cars or bikes. The webpage makes it easy to set-up an appointment and the staff are prompt in responding to an inquiries and figuring out your coverage before you go in for an appointment. Dr. David Zucker and his staff are friendly, efficient, and thoroughly address any procedures or questions. They were honest that my prescription hadnt changed since my last pair of glasses and did not pressure me to buy a pair. I had specific questions of specialized glasses for my workplace and he was more than willing to discuss options and research more into it. I will definitely be back for my annual eye exams, new pairs of glasses, or any other optic needs.

Dr. Zucker is a very compassionate and knowledgeable optometrist; the best I have ever encountered. So when he conducted a quick eye exam based off of my symptoms and recommended I try a pair of neurolenses, I didnt hesitate to listen.This could not have been a wiser decision on my part. My life has completely changed since using these glasses. No more eye strain, end of day headaches, lack of focus when reading or doing computer tasks, and no more swimming words when reading for long periods of time. I had no idea that this much positive change could come from a prism lens.Urban Optics is an amazing practice with a great staff and an extremely educated, passionate doctor who conducts himself as a consummate professional. I was very impressed with Dr. Zucker and his team at Urban Optics. They were friendly, informative, and best of all they were happy to help. Dr. Zucker took as much time as he could to answer all my questions and I even learned a few things about my eyes that I hadnt previously known and wasnt told by other eye doctors. One member of the staff, Gerry, was particularly helpful and although I cant remember the names of the other two folks there that I spoke with, I would feel confident recommending them. Its been two days and Im still waiting for an email with some specific contact lens pricing, but other than that delay Id say the visit was as pleasant as a trip to the doctor can be!

My appointment with Urban Optics was hands down the best eye exam I have ever had. Ok so yes all I had was an eye but to be honest I have never had any eye doctor put in so much attention and detail to my exam as Dr. Zucker! He took his time and listened to what I was saying but still read between the lines on what I couldnt really explain. When I ordered my glasses they told me theyd call when they came in but they didnt. I called them and asked when did they come in and it was 2 days earlier.Then they hadnt measured the proper center of the lens so they had to be sent back and again its been way over the time they said it would take and no call.I just wouldnt recommend going here unless your expectations are low. They dont seem to care. They seem to want to do the least possible work: just take the order and move on.

Urban Optics is the place to go for amazing eye care and eye wear in Santa Barbara, CA. My fiancé and I are from Maine and she was having some discomfort in her right eye. We got to Urban Optics just as they were closing and Dr. Zucker was so kind and willing to stay late to take care of my fiancé.
