Went specifically for wall calendars I usually buy each year, & they dont have them anymore, or yet(?). But though their produce isnt usually fresh, they do have a good selection of whole wheat pastas. Once in a while I can find a good greeting card there.

On weekends youre better off parking at the City lot across the street, especially if youre in a rush. State Street visitors seem to use the 99cent store parking lot while theyre dining or shopping.

I went shopping twice today at the 99 cents only store! Each time spending about $30.00. I always find cool things there. Today they had amazing ingredients that maid me want to cook up a storm! Their was alot of natural organic plant based protein that taste like meat there, also other name brand groceries that normally are expensive at your local grocery stores, in the refrigerator section of the store, and on the shelves. I was pleasantly surprised! Check it out, you will be surprised too! I made some gourmet lasagna, and shared it with some neighbors, they are close friends, so we all treat each other to meals, and treats that we cook ourselves. This is the best store in Santa Barbara! Great service. Swift and smooth shopping.

Very large 99 cent store. Parking is located in the back of the store. The day we did go we did find some available. The store inside is a bit unorganized but manageable to walk around. The security at the front was great and very friendly. The store did have a very unpleasant smell inside. Employee at the cash register was also very kind and helpful. Worth definitely checking out.

Good store but recently they have stopped carrying things such as rubbing alcohol, witchhazel, and alot of there hair styling products

The customer service here is atrocious. If you ask them an easy yes or no question, they just turn away from you and pretend not to hear. I had to practically yell just for one of the cashiers to finally stop pretending she couldn’t hear me because of her passive aggression towards the idea of someone not waiting for something in the mile long line.

The store was clean. Very busy and the shelves are quickly becoming empty because of Christmas Im sure. They had a huge selection of things! Virtually anything that you want is there. I did a virtual store walkthrough.

Most items can be found at all times. Although there stock varies from time to time. Great value on most items.Check out lines can be long in the afternoon so shopping in the morning is preferred.

Ive always liked to shop at the 99¢ store.So many things to buy @ such a good price too!!On this perticular day, I went to see if they had my color of face powder in stock because I just ran out.Well...., I didnt even make it to the isle that the make up is in. I got STUCK in the gardening isle. ( Very easily done! ).I spent $65.00 & didnt even get my face powder!!😭😇🙄🤧🥴

Narrow walk ways can even fit your cart with stuff everywhere. Water everywhere on the floor, stuff on the floor unfriendly wont be visiting this location. Not to mention we bought a hair brush straightener Jose eber only to get home and find that the box was empty but sealed😥.

The 99 Cents Store does has some very good deals. Especially on produce. I was hoping that the 99 Cents Store that I went to had a better selection on plastic containers.

A pretty big store but not everything is 99 cents. There is a freezer section as well as fresh fruit.

The employees are very helpful and pleasant to deal with. I appreciate they have a parking lot, although the spaces are limited, to be expected considering the location (my mother mentioned there is a lot across the street, although I always park in their lot!). I love the fact that they sell produce, I get a lot of my cauliflower and whatnot here, its an amazing deal. Maybe not as much produce as some of the other locations, but still pretty great they have it.

Very Messy n people steal alot from their (homeless etc.) N they pretend they cant hold them.

This location has a poor way of getting to parking. Everything is a one way street. A lot of new product blocks the aisles to the point where you cant see the item that you want. They are depleted of a lot of items that I normally purchase. No one respects the social distancing rules. They excuse me and expect you to let them walk in front of your face. THATS NOT GOOD. This is the only location in all of Santa Barbara proper!

I can always count on finding stuff I need at this dollar store that is off brand but works just as good and obviously much cheaper. They do carry brand items too as well as grocery items like produce and frozen & canned foods

Not sure why its called this, its not a 99¢ only store AND lots of merchandise doesnt have a pricetag. If you dont want to be shocked at the register just know this. They have LOTS of good deals though! And fruit, meat and vegetables.

Zac and the other employees were very polite and professional. This store has a wide variety of items from food to items like toys and car necessities for me basically items for my Entire Family that ranges from 4 years young to my age and my in-laws age as well. P.S. the headphones they sell for about $3 are bangin. Blessings Yall.

Parking can be tough to find depending on the time of day but usually I just park across the street in the 75 min. Lot. Besides the vagrants that like to hang out around the parking lot and stores entrance you can find great seasonal items and name brand items discounted for much less than found regularly. There is a large selection of kids toys and household kitchen items. Cashiers are efficient and try to get you out quick. FYI If you happen to need the bathroom you will need a code to enter.

Love shopping at the 99 cent store. You could just buy one for $0.99 rather than having to buy 17 and then you get to buy 17 more. Sometimes the items are a little smaller but when you buying one its not such a bad thing. Has my favorite candies.

Its clean. Staff is friendly. You can find great deals on some high quality items. Just spend a little more time than normal and I promise you that you will leave our store a very happy camper. Our big little town is lucky to have a .99cent store. Happy shopping.

OMG I dont know why anyone would look up a review for the 99 cent store. But its definitely my go-to for certain everyday items. If you need Aspirin ibuprofen, simple tools for setting up things around the house, light bulbs cleaning supplies they have everything, they even have fresh produce. everything isnt 99-cents anymore but its still an amazing deal

I was concerned with the horrible reviews I saw but this place far exceeded expectations.Huge store with a great selection. We even scored some $80 nerf guns for $12!! Bought some organic, gluten free soup and other healthy food as well as a bunch of toiletries to give away to the homeless.Yes, parking is tight but simply park across the street in free public parking. Yes, I saw a few homeless, but no more than anywhere else downtown. Was with my three young kids and felt perfectly safe. Definitely going back!

Good selection of stuff. Lots of seasonal things and okay looking food. But the parking lot is always full and cars block the street waiting for a spot. Theres a city lot across the street with 75 minutes of free parking so I dont get why blocking the street is okay. The entrance on State St. was blocked the day I last visited.

Typical dollar store items, courteous employees,. Theyve improved the cleanliness of the store, and have really tidtied up the shelves, not so messy now. I get good deals on a few name brand items. Only really big downside is the on property parking is minimal and usually full, but there is a city lot across the street so unless you have a lot of bags to carry it isnt a big deal.

The store is small compared to other 99 cent stores. However, it has a lot of really nice things that you wouldn’t normally find in other stores. I enjoyed my trip and bought a lot of cute decorations for less than $7!

Very busy store year round. I went after work and found what I needed plus some. A pleasant and courteous worker helped me. They were running low on some Christmas decorations but they had a pallet waiting to restock.

The 99 cent store that we have in Santa Barbara Ca it doesnt get all the good stuff like the other stores. Ive been to several stores up and down in our area and found better stuff. I dont know if the staff buys the good products before they hit the shelfs or what actually they do.

Its about time we got this store here in Santa Barbara, YAY! Im glad I no longer need to drive 45 minutes to an hour in order to pick up the items Ive come to rely on.The store is kept up well, shelves are stocked, and floors are clean. The parking lot is SUCH a plus, making it even easier for me since Im temporarily disabled.

Their IMMENSE inventory covers an immense number of different catagories, that includes fresh produce & frozen food items. One caution IS in order. Check the expiration date on canned, boxed & frozen food items, as well as vitamins & condiments. NONE ARE PASSED EXPIRATION ! ! ! Most have many months ! Yet a few items have just a month before their expiration date. So dont stock up on those items -- just buy one of the item instead :) This 99 Cent Store will EASILY become a weekly shopping experience for both the food and non-food items you and your family regularly use and need.

Its the only store we have like that in this town. The parking is HORRENDOUS. Its in a homeless neighborhood and across the street from what I know to be a rent by the day or week hotel but its all we have. Once inside the store you may come across a homeless person or two but again. its the only store of its kind we have. Unfortunately, the name 99 cent ONLY store doesnt mean that is the price anymore. It is the MOSTLY 99 cent only store and UP!

This store started out a bit less than one would suppose, but its rocking and rolling now. They have a lot of turnover of merchandise so you know everything is going to be fresh and new in trends.

I love this store! Ive been coming here for over ten years. Each visit is a treat! There so many goodies packed into this place. One of my favs, Baltz pens. Anywhere else they run $6-$8 for one. Here you can get two to three for $1.49. What a deal!Students, lots of paper, notebooks, essay books, pens & mechanical pencils - Cheap! All kinds of sundries.Come in, its worth it.

Very dirty and disorganized store. I dont recommend going there after dark a lot of homeless and mentally ill people all around it and living in the parking lot. Does not feel safe at night. Which is surprising for being Downtown Santa Barbara.

This store is so much fun to visit they have pretty much every thing you are looking for.

I felt assaulted by an ugly fat shopper in the store, who happens to be a SB astronomy club aficionado. (I do not know his name) I reported him to the store and PD same day and next morning. I also provided time and date and asked to get the camera clip for the PD. Staff and management were not helpful. They let me down in prosecuting offensive lowdown. I feel let down in several ways. SBPD took long time to finally respond against him at a different location.

The 99© Stores all have one thing in common, they are a blast to shop in!! Every time you go something new pops up! And sometimes you get a killer deal. There are also very silly items there like the egg separater! If you cant separate a yolk from the gloop a separater thing wont help you! But all in all this store is a great place to go with a friend so you can show each other stuff and have a great time shopping!!.
