Everyone has their obsession. For me, its donuts. I happily traverse the west coast in search of the perfect donut. Well, I no longer have to search. I have found the perfect donut, and it can be found at Hook & Press.All I can say is wow! Every selection is not only delicious, but a small work of art almost too pretty too eat. I would name my favorite, but I couldnt honestly pick one over the others.While the line has always been long when Ive been there, it always tends to move fast unless you have a customer asking tons of questions before their purchase.Will I ever find a better donut anywhere? Probably not. Will I keep coming down from the San Francisco area to visit Hook & Press? Definitely!

There is nothing I love more than a good donut and Hook & Press has it DOWN. Their donuts are extremely fresh, fluffy, and delicious. I tried multiple of the seasonal flavors: blueberry crisp, raspberry peach, lemon olive oil--there was not a single I didnt like! The donuts are also not super sweet so perfect for the adult palate. Their espresso is fantastic and we even ordered the dog donut! A bit too hard for our pup but very aesthetically pleasing ☺️The staff is very friendly. All around fantastic spot!

Hook & Press is absolutely exceptional and deserves all the praise it has received.The gourmet donuts are really creative, high quality, and delicious. The donuts are light and airy and the glazes are perfectly sweetened and have such unique flavors.It’s also a huge plus that they have good cappuccinos and other assorted drinks (some of which are also unique and colorful).In addition, the owner and workers there are all really friendly and welcoming.Overall, this is a fun place with kind people and A+ products.

Interesting selection of delicious donuts...might be nice to have a couple of more regular selections. Coffee was delicious...need clearer marking for their lines.

Yummy, Special, delightful donuts.A star missing because there isnt any decription about each donuts, would be helpful to have descriptions about each donut so that while customers are waiting in line, they can read and make better, faster choice, instead of holding up the line by inquiring at the cashier.

Every time I go, I pay and never get the whole order. Time to find another place for donuts. They may be pretty and taste good, but the order is never whole and they alert you before hand.

The donuts here are perfectly balanced. The light, airy dough pairs perfectly with their intensely flavored icings. Their selection of flavors is excellent, featuring a mix of elevated but classic flavors like twix as well as some unique flavors like golden milk and P.O.G. (pineapple orange guava) both pictured below.Theres also a nice patio area to eat at.

Amazing doughnuts! Super fresh, surprising flavors.

The doughnuts themselves were delicious. The dough was perfectly cooked and amazing. We tried 4 different flavors and were only impressed by two. The lemon olive oil flavor was good but nothing special, the peach raspberry flavor didnt taste like a peach or a raspberry. Just pure sugar. The maple bacon flavor was very good but the Smores flavor was hands down our favorite! Marshmallow and chocolate flavors with Graham cracker crumble. Would eat several of those alone! A great stop for doughnuts though if you wanna try something unique.

Donuts taste great. I suggest to order ahead online the day before to avoid the line and have every donut available. If you have to go there, get there early. We arrived at 7:45 and there was about a dozen people in front already lined up. We did go on Mothers Day which is one of their busiest day.

They are fine but soooo expensive for what you get. I like the craftsmanship but will stick with locally owned Spudnuts

Gourmet donuts are my thing and they have THE BEST! Flavors will run out if you are there after 10 on weekends but highly recommend the brown butter & s’mores. The fruity specialty donuts are also good and beautifully made, almost artistic.Plenty of outdoor seating in the front and the back. I wish they were cleaning tables in between people during these times but they don’t do that 😔. Also wish they enforced the 6ft rule inside. It gets a little crammed.

A bit pricey but they have mouthwatering donuts I wish I would have come earlier they only had Pecan Pie and Caramel Apple but regardless those were fantastic I dont know how I didnt know about this place up until a few days ago. Will for sure come here again. Very nice and helpful staff as well

Perhaps the most flavorful, well balanced, donuts Ive had. This place make donuts the right way. Each donut flavor have and distinguished and refined flavor that just pops. These donuts definitely taste as good, if not better than they look.

New interior since it was Peets. I loved Peets but this is even nicer! Lots of tables inside and out with pillows. Great donuts and selections of beers make it a must stop place!P.S. My latte was a little weak and a tiny bit bitter. Maybe just the particular shots.

I stopped by with my wife and daughter on a Friday early afternoon and we ordered six donuts. My favorites were the Maple Coconut Bacon and Butterscotch Brittle. The donuts were light, soft, and perfect. The glaze was incredible, not overwhelming, and delicious. These are the some of the best donuts I’ve ever had - better than Psycho in San Jose and better than Sidecar in Santa Monica.

A long overdue addition to Santa Barbara and I love it! The coffee was awesome and the donuts hit the spot. Yes donuts, I couldn’t pick just one so I had 2. The lemon berry was delicious but the cookie dough was the best donut I’ve ever had, hands down. Staff was on point and friendly. The location is tucked away but cool and inviting. Will for sure be back to try the other donuts.... and of course, get more of those cookie dough ones! I strongly suggest this place.

I cannot overstate how excellent these donuts are. You will love these if you like traditional donuts. You will love these if you like fine french pastries. I reccomended the flavor you think sounds the worst because it will blow your effing mind.

Absolutely delicious or as my son said, These are the best donuts I have ever tasted! We are so happy to have discovered our new favorite donut shop! They had a lovely array of ten different donuts to choose from including seasonal specialties like Vanilla Peppermint, Gingerbread Cheesecake, and Bourbon Eggnog. We decided to buy one of every flavor and our personal favorite was the Browned Butter donut. It looked like the plain Jane on the shelf among so many fancy cousins but the flavor was rich, toasty, and amazing. Second runner up was the Apple Pie donut, which when you bite into it, is filled with sweet and spiced apple pie filling that provides a lovely and tasty textural contrast. And honorable mention goes to the Mexican Hot Cocoa donut, which has a rich chocolate flavor and some light heat from the cinnamon and cayenne added in. The homemade marshmallow fluff on top is a delightful bonus. Five stars all around from the quality, originality, and beauty of the donuts, to the tasty coffee, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and excellent location across the street from the Santa Barbara Art Museum. Give them a try if you havent already and Bon Appétit !

Perfect way to start a Sunday morning! The burnt honey and rosemary doughnut is the perfect mix of sweet and light. Paired with a lavender latte ideally, highly recommended.

Donut selection runs out quick on weekends so get there early but its worth getting up early for.

Ordered a half dozen different flavors to share with friends, and we were universally impressed. The donuts were beautiful and delicious. I don’t normally like florals but the pomegranate rose donuts were actually well-balanced enough for me to enjoy. These donuts are a real treat.

If you are craving a good donut then this is definitely the place for you! The flavours are great (we had the brown butter one), they are airy and not too heavy and are so fresh! The service is impeccable and we’ll definitely be back!!

First time here, but the donuts we tried were great - good taste, good mouth feel - and a good cup of coffee. We dont eat this kind of snack very often, but this will be high on our list when we do crave something sweet.

My husband & I absolutely LOVED their signature P.O.G. (passionfruit, orange, guava,) glazed donuts! It was bursting with flavor, & worth the 30 minute drive north for a few. They are slightly more expensive than your average donut shop but worth every penny. Craft beers on tap & coffee are available too!

So sadly underwhelmed. The selection was slim at 10:15am on a Sunday, were sold “Cold Chocolate” that turned out to be an overpriced box of chocolate milk, and every question we asked was met by a robotic “Oh, that is our best donut” sales pitch.

When I’m in Santa Barbara I NEVER miss a chance to get donuts at hook & press. Definitely the best donuts in town!

I was amazed by the quality of the simple chocolate donut. While a standard at most if not all donut shoppes, usually its an easy go-to for chocolate lovers. But wow. The chocolate was so smooth, not sickeningly or overly sweet, it felt as though it was lovingly tempered to its exceedingly delicious mouthfeel, and the dough was light, not greasy, and had the springy-ness that was almost reminiscent of al dente. Paired with a medium-dark roast coffee blend it was truly an epicurean experience!

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the actual donuts are absolutely delicious

Came here at noon on a Sunday and they only had donut holes left, even though they are open to 2:30pm. The donut holes were bomb and could only imagine what the donuts are like.
