Surprising how many cool and affordable gifts: cast iron, wood, recycled glass, pottery, linens, candles, funny books, kids books, amazing cook books. The pottery selection is astonishing,--you wont see this much Italian pottery all in one place even in Italy-- and yes, this is the good stuff! Some pieces are expensive, some affordable. Something for everyone: the fine art collector or the mug collector. All the pottery is handmade and imported directly to Santa Barbara from pottery families in Italy. This too is a family business for over 35 years. One of the most beautiful places to visit in Santa Barbara--even if you are not a pottery person, you should see it!

Like most things in life, you get what you pay for. The pottery in this beautiful store are handcrafted in Italy, absolutely gorgeous, and are made to last a lifetime. How many things in your house are a conversation piece? No disrespect, but if you want something made in China with lead paint and want to save a few bucks, Im sure your local Walmart has just what you need. Support small businesses and shop local.

Last fall, my wife and I spent 10 awesome days in Italy to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Ordering a piece of pottery from this store was a way for me to put a visible reminder of our trip [and my commitment to my precious wife] in our new home. Italian Pottery Outlet is amazing!! One of the best stores in Santa Barbara. It has an incredible selection of handmade, hand painted Italian ceramics but also TONS of amazing books, gifts, and home decor items. They really do have options for every budget (those who have commented about the high prices must not have a knowledge base about Italian pottery or handmade art in general). The sales staff is helpful and knowledgeable, and though they can be busy at times, they always check in and make sure your questions are answered. Definitely the shop to visit while in Santa Barbara - and its locally owned!

Everything is gorgeous, filled with life and the people running this family business are truly so kind and wonderful.

I would give four stars for the pottery: the store offers a large variety of ceramic goods, from place settings to serving pieces and accessories. A variety of patterns and colors make the store vibrant and fun to walk through. Its a little pricey, particularly if youre thinking of picking up service for a few people. They offer books, magnets and other kitschy items. On the downside, service is lacking: the two ladies behind the counter area couldnt have shown less interest in the customers walking around. Rather unfriendly, even when we were actually purchasing items. That will likely keep me from returning.PS: The Owner reached out to me to apologize and explain a few things about the family business. Apology accepted and I will return again in the future 😊

Not handmade, purely out of a mold, and large volume manufacturing. Chipped super easily. Terrible manufacturing. Profits clearly going out of town. Bummer. Pretty on first sight, but sub-standard only a week or two into the purchase.

This store has a fair amount of selection, but the buyer definitely has a specific taste and style. The products are dramatically overpriced. Zero customer service during a basic walk through.

The Italian Pottery Outlet is a delicious find. Beautiful handcrafted pieces from Girasole, Giubbio, Ammalluatc, by artisans such as Nino Parrucca. Wonderful place, good prices, gorgeous pieces. The two sisters who own the place do a wonderful job. Highly recommend a visit. You wont be able to leave without buying some treat that you will treasure always. Great stuff but very expensive! I remember when they were in a smaller facility in a cheaper part of town - bought a number of things there, back then. Looking for a few pasta bowls - nothing even close to our price range now.

The woman who seems to be running the store is very unfriendly and rude to her customers. Wanted to buy something but it seemed to be a little damaged... asked if she could maybe fix it and she raised her tone and tells me its a set price and that if I dont want it I need to pick another one... probably wont be going there again.

This was a great store. Lots of knick-nacks to look at. We bought a fun cookbook and some dish towels.
