Best place for purchasing your gun in Santa Barbara and Goleta. Really helpful people. Ive already been back couple of times already

Bought my first firearm from them a few months ago. They were helpful throughout the whole process of paperwork, firearm safety cert, etc. I also recently shipped a firearm through them as an FFL and the process was smooth sailing.

Good guys here! Even helped me out to my car with a heavy box of ammo. Call ahead to make sure theyre open and youre good to go, I them for all my FFL needs.

The Wife & I were in the area. So we decided to check it out. For which I am very glad that we did. As it was one of the best Gun Shops that I have been to so far this year!Daniel the Manager was very friendly and obviously had his stuff together! All in all we had a very good time there.

Went to start the process to exercise my 2a rights. They were so very helpful. I recommend Far West with excitement. Go and support local businesses while exercising your constitutional rights despite Sacramentos best efforts to deter you.

Went to the store waiting for 15 min outside and the owner comes out and says he can only help out a few people since it was closing in 20 min. He immediately takes two white people one that just got there who was last in line and leaves the rest outside and says he can’t help them even when we told him he just got there. Won’t be going to this place to buy my first gun. Seems he only likes white people buying from his store.

Daniel and Bob were extremely helpful and made the experience of purchasing my first firearm very pleasant. I will definitely go back from my next purchase.

Great selection at really fair prices. One of the only gun shops I have ever been to where they dont try to rip you off. I will definitely be back.

Having dealt with many Gun Shops and Armorers over the years, Im a retired Army Ranger and a Gunsmith myself, I find Jerry and his staff to be consummate professionals.Their knowledge and selection of high quality firearms and accessories would rank among the highest on the west coast. This attraction brings some of the top shooters in the world to the shop on a regular basis. The ensuing conversations are often opinionated, but invariably entertaining when viewed with a considered eye; not for the weak of heart. If you have an interest in firearms and all associated intrigues I recommend Far West Guns.

I had an excellent experience at Far West Guns about a week ago. I am happy I read the owners response to the bad reviews.. Friendly new owner and management.Anyway, I came in with an old shotgun that had not been used for a while that I just inherited. I did not know how to operate, take apart, or maintain the gun. These guys instructed me for no charge. When I went around the store with them selecting items for care/upkeep, I felt as though they were getting me everything I needed, no more, no less. They did not try to oversell me on anything, just helped me get just what I needed. I will definitely be back soon!

Every time I come in everyone is friendly and nice. Came in about ten (10) times within a year and a half; everyone is friendly, nice and willing to help.If you have an issue with a fun you bought from them they are willing to trouble shoot the problem.I dont understand everyones negative reviews.

Went in here because my father has dealt with them for many years. I bought a personal protection handgun for my home. Jerry explained gun safety, usage and lockup as well as training and advice and made the whole experience worthwhile. I would highly recommend them! This may be my first but certainly not my last. Thank you guys!

Changed owners in 2015. Good service and friendly staff. I like that they now have a gunsmith.

If I could give them zero stars I would. Brought in my firearm to get new sights installed and 5 months later they finally finished! First they ordered the wrong part, then when they got the right parts in they broke off the new front sight. They kept giving me the runaround saying they would have it finished by a certain day only to blow past it without so much as a phone call. Once, when I called them out of frustration the guy there told me he had the gun sitting on his work bench and he just hadnt got to it yet and he keeps putting it off then he had the nerve to tell me I was being rude to him. I am going to report these guys to the BBB. I hope anyone who reads this will go elsewhere.

I purchased a hand gun here and lots of accessories previously.I returned today for a rifle. While I was double checking by phone with my Fiance on the $2k purchase, they promised the gun to someone else and would no longer sell it to me. The staff was very rude (they always have been, but I previously just shrugged it off). I try to buy local, even with their ridiculous prices and limited selection, but I will not be returning.Unless you are buddies with the people working there, do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere.

Great staff and fast service, shop is under new ownership and it shows, my special order was in the shop in 3 days and they were calling me telling me to come get it! These guys are pros...and extra perk: you can buy cigars in the shop now too!

Seriously, I love supporting local businesses (Im a local business owner) but there are other gun and supply stores in town, and Far West has on multiple occasions given me poor customer service.Only on one occasion did they make an effort to really help me, and that was when I was looking to purchase a $1,000+ rifle...Ive visited on several other occassions and been treated poorly on each visit. Being ignored, and being told absolute crap. (Im guessing because I dont look like your typical gun owner or hunter, though I am both)On my last visit I was looking to pick up my new hunting license as well as my buddy wanted to get his, and some shells so we could go dove hunting. (and my buddy was asking about getting a case for his new hand gun)When I asked about if it would be worth driving over the hill to the Figueroa Mountain area of the Los Padres National Forest to look for any dove hunting the answer I got from the first guy was I dont know ANYTHING about hunting and the second and only other guy working at the time could only take the time to say my only advice would be to call the Nation Forest office...Ok, Im sorry, but Ive been in a TON of gun stores, and this is the first and ONLY gun store Ive ever walked into where NO ONE knows anything about hunting!!?? are you kidding me.Im not looking for your honey spot... Just wanted to know if the national forest was worth the drive or not.Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service on all but one visit to these guys leaves me driving all the way to Goleta to visit Goleta Valley Gun and Supply for gun purchases and any sort of real answers to anything customer service oriented. Or visit Dodge City for any and all answers and help. Same day/same attire and I walk into Dodge City and get really helpful answers about a barrage of questions.If you wanna buy a gun, visit far west, if they give you the time of day check the gun out in person there... then drive somewhere else and purchase it there even if the other store doesnt have it in stock.Not even joking.
