We visited the showroom a while ago. Introduction of each product line can be improved. After we decided the manufacturer and model of the door, they accommodate the installation according to our schedule. They sent us advance notices to confirm the site preparation, such like working space for their crew. The installation crew was knowledgable and efficient. They left with no trash behind. Amazing....said someone we be at the new home between 9AM and 11AM. I was on my way to meet them and got a call at 8:59AM ...they said the job was finished. When the installers arrived on site for the installation, they were rude and complained that they needed to wear a mask on our campus. We assist individuals experiencing homelessness, and some of our participants have weak immune systems.The installers also left a huge mess. There was dirt and powder debris all over the concrete floor, the counter tops, and the new glass door. I was told that is normal due to it being a construction project, and I would have to clean everything myself. Ive worked in residential and commercial construction for over 20 years. I would never leave a mess on a job site, or tell a customer that they needed to clean up a mess themselves.The door was incredibly late due to CoVid. I was promised a discount by my sales person. When I brought this up with billing, I was give a $100 off from the manufacturer.

One wheel of the garage door came off yesterday. Luckily I managed to still able to close the door overnight. Scheduled with Bay Area Overhead Door to come by today for service. The office called snd let me know the technician, James, can come by 2 hours earlier. Perfect for me. James found all the wheels are bad or getting bad. He replaced all except 2. Bay Area Overhead Door Co. replaced the garage door of our ranch-style home. When considering our options, I researched online, then visited a couple big-box stores with competing lines of garage doors as well as BAODs well-stocked showroom, where the knowledgeable office manager, Jordan, answered my questions, gave me paint and finish samples, and later emailed a quote. That visit was followed by a visit from the installer, James St. Louis, who confirmed measurements and quote. There were a few more Q&A exchanges by email before we placed the order online. Waiting time for the door was 2-3 weeks, less than expected. Installation of the new door (including removal of the old) by a crew of two took about 2.5 hours. Were very happy with the look and functioning of the new door. I appreciated having access to a showroom and knowledgeable personnel. Big-box stores may compete on price, but too often the persons one speaks to up front have little direct knowledge and are not the ones who will do the actual work, and there is no consistent contact to rely on. I recommend Bay Area Overhead Door.

Baltazar arrived a little early which I appreciated.Everything was great....except the really amateurish job routing the cables from the garage door opener that connect to the sensors for stopping the door when there is something in the path.Instead of stapling the cables to the center beam which the garage door opener was attached, the cable was stapled to the underside of extra doors that function as a platform for storage in the garage rafters. Hence, if I were to move those doors then the cables would surely be broken.He also did not judge the length of the cables so that they ran flush with the beam and wall surfaces. There was an unprotected diagonal length of cable running from about 2 feet from the wall on the rafter door TO the wall. So, again. The cable would have been broken if anything hit that diagonal length. There was also an unusual extra length leading down to the sensors which highlighted to lack of planning for the cable length.So...rather than having to take a day off of work to wait for a follow up and fix, I did it myself. I removed all the staples and released the cables. I then took up the slack so that the cables would run along the beam and directly to the wall and on to the sensors making the cable installation neat and tidy as it should have been done in the first place.It was kind of a pain in the butt to have to redo this work given that I paid for a complete job.

Jim was very professional with communications and arriving in time for my emergency call. He fixed the cable and reset the door in under 20mins. I’d highly recommend them for your garage door needs.

I had a very good experience with Bay Area Overhead Door. Jordan, the person who I spoke with in the office several times, was very helpful in helping me get the door designed, was able to have actual color samples sent to my house by Martin Door, and was always very pleasant to work with. The installers arrived on time, and worked into the evening to get the door installed. They will have to make a return visit to finish installing some trim (I opted for a trim they didnt have with them), and to replace the springs. Apparently the wrong springs were shipped with the order. In the meantime, the door is working fine.

Pathetic customer service. Our door did not work after installation. When we called, they asked us to call LiftMaster (garage door machine company). Back forth so many parts had to be replaced, Bay Area Overhead Door company refused to help. Their warranty does not cover anything, they would charge $199 every time they come in after installation.

Our technician Baltazar was really fast and efficient when fixing our our spring of our Garage Door. Although the Spring had be special ordered be guaranteed it will be in and fixed the following week. The job took about 30mins and got our garage opening again. I highly recommend Bay Area Overhead Door for all your garage issues.

I feel they did a good job, the installers were polite and on time. The reason for a 3 out of 5 was there was small things that could have been done to make it a 5. For example: The door opener was installed but the opener did not include a bulb so we will have to go to the store to buy one and install it ourself (it was like buying a child a toy but with no batteries). I could install but if it wasnt a part of the opener, they should have added that into the price (a more senior person or disabled maybe couldnt get on a ladder to install the new bulb or go to the home improvement store to buy one). The other example was the WiFi Q on Liftmaster. Again, it didnt work so I had to find someone to help me troubleshoot it. Before they left I dont expect them to program it, but, a small demo would have been nice. So,, small things like that would have made me feel the job was whole and not we had to do that last 2 or 3% to have it properly installed. To conclude, I am not negative and I am happy with the garage door but the above are only suggestions to make them a 5.

Service beginning to end was fantastic. A lot of people in our area of San Rafael have the type of door that I wanted and I knocked on every door asking where they had gotten their door. I talked with 4 different companies before choosing Bay Area Overhead Door -- we have a rental property in S Bay that I will definitely use them for when we are ready to replace that door and I have neighbors already asking who we got our door through.
