It took a while to find the right company for my needs but I am so thrilled that I chose Phantom Screens! Their customer service is excellent. The screens are amazing and EXACTLY what I was looking for (large panoramic door, automated, in tracks that prevent my animals from getting out and wildlife from getting in). I cant recommend them enough!

I like the Phantom Screen hardware so far (about a month of use) including the nice latch mechanism. However, I was not very happy with my install experience using American Screens in San Diego, CA. William came out and provided the estimate and was amiable. However, they never called me back and a month later i called and talked to someone brought in to help because there had been some sort of business problem that required help resolving/unwinding.I scheduled the install and waited another two weeks and William came out at the appt. time. He installed a single screen on one door and a double screen for a french door. Things i noticed that werent good and show a lack of quality control/workmanship:1) the color of the supposedly black metal plates that run along the bottom of the door are anything but black and do not match my black sill plate (William mentioned the color would not match perfectly during the intial visit and he was right). I dont understand why Phantom does not offer a pure black sill plate instead of one with a strange bronze cast to it.2) alignment of one screen spindle/retractor is off so when you retract the screen the top is still 1 inch from hitting the bumber. This causes some rippling in the scrren material when opened. I mentioned this to him and he said it wasnt a problem. None of the others are like this.3) The cut on one side of the metal sill plate for the single door was very poorely done and looked horrible. I noticed it right away and took a photo of it. It was not straight and had a notch in it. The other side cut was fine. I asked him to recut it and after much resistance and threats to charge me for it he came back a few hours later with a part and recut it and did a really good job. It was an incredibly straight, tight fit and looked great. Why did he try and pass subpar work on me in the first place?4) the initial round of caulking was very sloppy with holes. I had him add more caulking and it was then an ok job. It wasnt a smooth caulking but it would suffice to keep the insects out.After this experience i will be very hesitant to use them to install Phantom Screens again.
