Had a great experience here, there servers were all extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome right off the bat. The coffee was way better than youd usually expect from a restaurant, which is always a welcome surprise. All the normal breakfast food was good and pretty much what youd expect, but the bagels are where they really shined. These were easily the best bagels Ive ever had, and extremely affordable too. Definitely recommend for a good breakfast and bagels to go.

Just discovered this place when I was looking for a place to get a bagel. I had been to the UPS Store on the other side of the fence so many times and never noticed it. Big parking lot was a bit chaotic. I wasn’t sure which door to go in at first. Lots of people in for breakfast seemed happy. The cook kind of stared at me as I waited at the counter. No idea what he was thinking. Ordered a bagel with cream cheese. Didn’t realize a little cream cheese would cost more than the bagel, but I guess that’s the labor. It was uneventful. As expected. Nothing out of this world. I was a little surprised that a place that big with a cook staring at me would have the same guy handling the money and preparing my bagel. I’ll probably go back and try the real breakfast menu.

Our order was called in and I was told 15 minutes until order ready for pick up. When I arrived to pick it up 15 minutes later, I waited an additional 20 minutes for my order. Entire staff were Spanish speaking and I did not appreciate the male cashier/manager speaking to me in Spanish, assuming I would understand what he was saying. This is America/New Mexico (not Mexico) and staff should utilize the English language when communicating with patrons of the establishment. Had the website mentioned the establishment as exclusively Spanish speaking, I would have prepared accordingly by having my translation app available. Not impressed by the soggy muffin in my eggs benedict. Overall this place is overpriced for mediocre food and questionable service. Previous owner/restaurant in this location provided superb service and food. Very disappointed.

Highly recommend New York on Catron!! Went to breakfast yesterday with a group of five people from out of town. We were promptly seated, had courteous service and the food was fantastic. I had the egg sandwich with hash browns. Huge portions!! Plus, it is walking distance to the Plaza, with plenty of parking. Will go back again.

Its the height of chutzpah to call yourself a New York Deli. There are lots of Jewish people who know what food tastes like in an actual New York Deli, and some of them, such as myself, come to Santa Fe on vacation.Normally, when I go to a new locale, I try to sample the local foods in locally owned restaurants. But we just got to our time share after a long flight. We were tired, and the other couple we were with recommended the New York Deli so we went. They were still open. They close at three, but we got there at two.I had the sampler salad. My wife had the turkey melt sandwich without the bread, and the other couple split a corned beef sandwich and a matzoh ball soup.My sampler salad had chopped chicken liver, very good, and whitefish salad, too salty and not enough actual whitefish in the mix.My wife enjoyed her turkey melt. Her entree came with extremely thin cut fries that were very good.I didnt taste the matzoh ball soup, but I was not impressed with the size of the matzoh ball. The corned beef sandwich was certainly big enough to share. I didnt taste it so I am unable to judge the taste.

We stopped in for lunch, the service was great. The Rachel was good, Fries were good. The Chicken with Matzo Ball soup was the worst we ever had, it was Chicken soup with a rock in it. When we ask the manager, and we told him the Rachel was good, he replied that at least some was good. We will not be back just because of his comment.

Wanted to let everyone know New York on Catron is not owned by the same group as New York Deli Southside on Cerrillos. Two and a half years ago the owners of Southside sold the Catron business. We’ve been working to eliminate any confusion by updating name and logo but maintaining many of the great menu items our customers have come to enjoy and expect as well as introducing new favorites. Look forward to welcoming loyal and new customers alike!

I think I had high expectations for this NY Deli because I love NY Deli’s in general...for example Katz in NYC, Sherman’s in Palm Springs or the Carnegie In Vegas. Anyway, this was a very nice deli and the staff was friendly. But the portion sizes seemed a little smaller, the soup didn’t have much flavor and the ambiance was so-so.... it just seemed more like a sandwich shop... yes I know a deli is a sandwich shop, but like I said, I had high expectations. Anyway, I’m very glad I tried it, but I will probably not be back.

Significantly better than its south-side branch. Some delicious and nostalgic New York deli dishes (pastrami on rye, matzoh ball soup) done well along with some New Mexico specialties and accents. The bagels are disappointing as they do not taste as if they were properly boiled. Still, the closest thing to NYC in Santa Fe. A good Reuben sandwich goes a long way so Ill be back.

HORRENDOUS services. The only reason I give 2 stars is because the bagels were good. However, every single drink cooler wasn’t working and had warm drinks in it. This is not okay for smoothies, orange juice and milk... yet they seemed unconcerned. There was no sign. Someone can/will easily get sick from a smoothie not stored properly. Staff hates you and hates smiling. Don’t get a coffee as it’s burnt, too hot and they don’t have cold creamer they have old warm cream packets sitting on a counter. Disgusting. They also sell crunchy crusty old baked goods wrapped in plastic at the counter for high prices.

I have always felt they were good and solid but had a terrible experience today. They didnt put most of my food in my bag. I was on a short lunch break and had to go back to the business where the owner had to leave so I am by myself and unable to leave again for the rest of the day. Order wrong, incredibly rude staff when asked to correct it. Called in a to-go order from my office. When I attempted to order my usual Egg Benedict with two different variations (as their menu boasts 4 different variations) I was told that this couldnt be done (even though it has been done about once or twice a month for the past year) because it was too hard. I then proceeded to order the Smoked Salmon Benedict (per the menu: 2 poached eggs topped with smoked salmon, cream cheese, grilled tomatoes aand red onions on a toasted English muffin, covered with hollendaise sauce & served with hash browns) with a side of avocado and extra hollendaise sauce (was asked to wait a moment, I have to find those buttons, which is understandable if the person taking the order is new) as well as the Eggs Florentine and a bagel with cream cheese spread. I went to pick up the order and returned to my office to find that the Smoked Salmon Benedict was just a plain Eggs Benedict. I left my office and went back to the restaurant to get my order corrected. When I went in and asked for the manager on duty, it was the same person who mistook my order over the phone, and had to find the buttons on the screen to place my order. Really?? This is the manager on duty?? She pulled up the order on the screen and insisted that I received the order I placed. I explained that I had ordered the Smoked Salmon Benedict, not plain Eggs Benedict, and asked that it be corrected. On top of the $33.02 I had already paid, I was charged an additional $7.54. Once the charge was completed, the manager then proceeded to dump sheeted salmon straight out of the refridgerator on top of my hot order and hand it back to me. I explained that I ordered Smoked Salmon Benedict, so it also needed the cream cheese, tomato, and onion to make the dish complete. She then said that she only charged me for the salmon ($7.54 for cold salmon dumped on my hot order). I asked her again to correct my order. She took the container of food and added a scoop of cold cream cheese out of the refridgerator onto a corner of the container, and again tried to hand it back to me. I had to insist on the tomato and onion. This was also taken out of the refridgerator and, while these items are served sliced and layered in the benedict, she began to dice the tomato and onion. I asked her what she was doing. She snarked back Im adding what youre asking for, even though YOU ordered wrong. At this point I just asked for the box back and thanked her for the fact that not only did I have to tell her, the manager, what should be in the dish she messed up, Id now have to put it together properly myself. If youve ever wondered if Smoked Salmon benedict tastes good served completely cold due to ingredients being added straight from the refridgerator, I can assure you it does not. Nor does it help to microwave it, which was my only option as I was at work. I have no idea what has happened to the amazing food and friendly staff that can usually be found here. Either the owner is oblivious to the lack of customer service, or they just dont care. Im sure that the one to two meals for the 3 to 5 people that order from our office probably wont be missed, but Im sure that will multiply if this is the new norm at NY Deli Northside. Thank goodness for the Southside location, where I have never had anythign other than excellent food and wonderfully accomdating service.

I agree with the person who said this place has the worst service!! At least at the to-go counter -- they make it seem like they are doing you a favor: rude; shorted me on the change and when pointed out, didnt acknowledge it, just grabbed it from the tip jar; messed up my order and never once said a word to me as I watched them arguing with the chef... Unimpressive. The reason for the second star is because the food was better than the service....

When Jeffrey owned the New York Deli, it was a very pleasant place with a good menu which was delivered reliably and consistently. Since it was sold to the new owner, the quality of the food has plummeted. Although I have been disappointed before by this place since it was sold, the other day I ordered a salad to go with chicken. The chicken was inedible, chewy and disgustingly raw. Today I ordered a Woodstock sandwich to go. It did not have all of the ingredients listed in the menu. This restaurant does not deserve to be called a restaurant. I dont know what it is. I would not be surprised, given the sloppiness of their deliverable, that food poisoning comes next. Dont go.
