Overall a really great, clean and welcoming store. I especially love the staff in the wellness supplement section, because they are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The cashiers are very talkative and warm. The store has great specialty items for those into healthy food. The minus 1 star is just because the prices are very high, and sometimes bordering on outrageous when it comes to produce. And it isnt always at a quality that warrants that. They do try to stock local and organic and thats nice

I recently had a sandwich from their deli and it was absolutely delicious! Made right on the spot while I shopped around. I love having this grocery store in my neighborhood. Staff have always been very pleasant. Also it helps to be a member to get the best prices and deals! Only $15 a year.

Great place for local goods and super-nice people to help you. Lots of hard-to-find items and brands as well. Try the made-to-order sandwiches in the back - best deal in Santa Fe I think. My only two criticisms are that this place is EXPENSIVE - like $300 for two bags of groceries being the norm- with the other being their seafood counter. Youd think it would be a heaping pile of fresh Colorado trout, but its not. Its an assortment of creepy fish thats far from appealing to the eye. But their meat is top notch so just get your fish at whole foods instead. Overall, a fantastic place to shop if youre not on a budget.

Discriminatory behavior from staff - I was issued a temporary handicap placard by the State of NM following knee reconstruction surgery. It was imperative to utilize the accessible parking spaces as I could not bend my knee or bear total weight. Immediately after getting down from my vehicle, I was approached by two staff members and was asked if I was sure I could park at the handicap space, despite the temporary placard. I was clearly impaired with a full leg brace and crutches when they approached. I pointed to my handicap credential, but the members continued to agitate the situation, You know, we do have a lot of elderly people coming in and out of the store. Another staff member came behind my vehicle to further escalate the situation. This is clear violation of the ADA. Additionally, the store manager never followed up with me.

Good variety & selection of foods. Seems significantly more expensive than most stores. Hard to find individual prices of items. Often the prices are not on the individual items but on the shelf near, next to, above or below. Which would be ok however things get moved around so youre not sure what things are what prices. Overall, good selection of healthy and organic food products including assortment of non-dairy, vegan, & plant-based foods.

I used to love coming here to shop. Tried to support a local business. Unfortunately it seems a lot has changed with staffing. Things are not stocked the way they used to be and if you ask for assistance they seem completely dejected. Theyll stand there and watch you pack your own groceries while they do other things. Hasnt been the best experience in the last few trips. Extremely disappointed at what management would consider customer service. I will no longer be spending my $$ there.... Ever.Back to WHOLE FOODS! And I will never recommending this Co-op for anything.

We like to shop here because we know its real organic and mostly locally sourced. We buy fresh milk and its the only place that sells it in Sf. On the negetive, their staff has not been taught how to handle produce and its often brused. Their prices for some items are reduculously high. Tazo tea is $2.59 a bottle whike Natural Grocer sells it fir $1.65. So we dont buy every thing there just about 20% of our needs.

I had recommended it to make a special trip from Madrid to my mother for some of the superior Three Sisters Ranch beef at La Montanita Co-op Food Market. She was verbally abused by the young butcher when she asked for fresh ground beef. The most disgusting part of this disturbing event was management chose to ignore and disregard this ugliness. As a son, I felt as though I let my mother down by recommending this place to shop. If you care and love your family members I would highly advise you steer clear from La Montanita at all costs because they condone employees complete and utter misconduct/disrespect towards senior citizensThey choose to ignore this disgusting event and never followed up with a investigation or a phone call. This is not a store that the community should support nor is it something that the people of Santa Fe need. Be warned!

Very inconsistent service and quality at deli (sandwiches specifically). I never know what I’m going to get. Staff seem poorly trained (or company does not have standardized quality and portion control?). Last experience (and not my first unpleasant experience) I got a toasted bagel with cream cheese and veggies to go. When I opened my sandwich at home, my bagel was burnt. Interestingly, the blackened side down to hide hide the error? I don’t have an issue with a mistake being made but I do have an issue with the poor customer service. The staff could have alerted me and offered to make a new toasted bagel. Instead they wrapped it up and pretended like it didn’t happen. Honestly, this is the basics, this is common sense. I give you a 2 because sometimes it is good but again it’s a gamble. So if you like to take a risk, I guess this is the place for you.

Social distancing here is non-existent. The store is so crowded an employee stops, takes a look at the crowded aisle ahead of him, and utters OMG. The environment is unsupervised and the management criminally negligent. I am a member here, or at least my wife is and we utterly condemn their sorry efforts. This place should come to the attention of the authorities. They need to radically change or close. Management’s reply to this review states conditions as they should be, not as they are. There is crowding and it is flat out dangerous.

Local Grass fed beef is Way Better than Albertsons who knows where it came from. The quality is WAY better too! Great nice knowledgeable staff, lots of local products. The produce is outstanding, the deli has great offerings including make your own burrito in the am, a hot bar, mostly organic salad bar, and BIG sandwiches. The juices and smoothies are 100% organic, and the coffee is fair trade, organic, and from a local roaster. They participate in the Monterrey Bay Seafood Watch program, so all their seafood is on the green list (meaning not endangered). I like the Co-op because it carries a lot of locally-grown fresh veggies, which means you can find varieties of vegetables not available in any other grocery store: the heirloom varieties are great! I have gone to La Montanita in Santa Fe more then several times and every time I go I think I am not going back again. The staff are rude, they talk to each other and ignore the customers.I purchase a lot of supplements & I have gone back because they carry a brand I like. I was not able to find something in the supplement section - the ladies that work in this area were talking to each other and just ignored me - even when they saw I needed help. The last time I asked for help and was again ignored as they were having a conversation with each other - when I asked a second time they looked totally annoyed that I interrupted them. I did not purchase anything and left the store. There is a lot of competition in Santa Fe - Sprouts, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Natural Grocers, Pharamaca. So Bye - Bye La Montanita - your way overpriced anyway and there is a bad vibe in your store.

Some good produce, but a lot of the items are really overpriced. Seems inconsistent, some items are at market value or somewhat cheap, but overall pricey for what it is.Weird vibe, like a lot of the health food stores in Santa Fe. Feels like a Portlandia sketch in real life. The cashier was friendly enough but the rest of the staff seemed annoyed to have to help a customer find something.I’ll stick with Albertson’s, Smith’s, etc. They offer the same thing essentially, without the new age nonsense and the Californian-influenced smug culture.
