The main part of the city was pretty packed and there was no parking so we ended up stopping by here while driving through. Ordered the Milanesa plate, Santa Fe empanada, Tango empanadas and a Dulce De Leche Latte (less sweetener). The food was decent, the Tango empanadas was definitely my favorite, cooked really well and the flavor was just delicious. I got the dulce de leche latte with less sweetener than usual and it was great! The stuff they give you with the empanadas is pretty tasty. The portions are kind of small, not really any you can split or share so we ordered more food. Place is super cute, decorations are really nice, friendly staff.
Wonderful food, great atmosphere, and good service. Cannot recall the name, but had a traditional dish which is flank steak rolled/filled with peppers, egg...oh my the flavor was WONDERFUL! Flan for dessert with fresh berries. Needless to say, my tummy was very happy with the experience. The patio was wonderful as well. Its worth mentioning they have indoor seating too, with a great organic vibe, big windows, plants... whole place is very tastefully decorated. Getting our food took about 25-30 minutes, otherwise would have given 5 stars. But Ill certainly be back!
Cool place to eat. Very casual and good atmosphere. Love the setup, even indoors there is an outdoor vibe. Argentine and Italian food. Good coffee menu and also serves beer and wine. Found a parking easily but I cam imagine it could be a challenge and one could end up parking on the street. Glad we stumbled upon this place. Very friendly waitstaff.
Ive been here enough times I think to write a fair review about this place. This restaurant is such a gem in Santa Fe and I love going there for the atmosphere and the great food and coffee. After spending a few months in Argentina its been great going to a place that serves the highlights that Argentine cuisine had to offer (alfajores, maté, lomos, empanadas). However, I have noticed that of you go during peak times (brunch) the service and the food quality does take a hit. Ive had great meals, but Ive also sub standard meals where my food arrived before my coffee and my food had absolutely no flavor. So, ultimately, my recommendation is dont order off the brunch menu and go when its less busy!
I love this place! I live in ABQ and am willing to drive up to Santa Fe just to come and eat their delicious food! The empanadas, salads, and sandwiches are amazing! Very very flavourful and the staff is super friendly, quick, and caring. Its a great place for brunch. Their setup is super cute 😍. Im definitely coming back again!
Wonderful local coffee shop. I was visiting a friend and it was perfect for catching up. I would absolutely return for another visit.
Beautiful atmosphere, food was tasty, service wasnt reliable to get food, water, silverware etc.
Very comfortable cafe with great atmosphere. A little tough to find the first time, which may work in my favor as it is never too crowded. I enjoy the coffee drinks and breakfast menu most. I should give 5 stars but Im holding back 1/2 a star, its not quite perfect but close.
Unique even for a town known for its differences! Excellent service. A peaceful, friendly getaway treasure. Vegetarian & vegan foods offered a variety of choices Outside seating was like a garden with the river across the lane. Exceptionally clean & well cared for like a home atmosphere. You will want to go back again!
What a wonderful spot in Santa Fe to eat! The Argentine cuisine of Empeñadas and sandwiches is great. We ate outdoors in a fully shaded spot. The service is exceptional and so I would highly recommend Cafecito for a pleasant breakfast or lunch experience.
Family and friends love this spot! I am grateful for the vegan and vegetarian options, wonderful people who served us, beautiful environment and delicious food.We will be back!
Everything about this place is amazing - the atmosphere, the food, the staff, & the owners, who are a constant presence. We stayed in a nearby Airbnb for the week, so we got breakfast, lunch & dinner here throughout the week. There’s not a bad thing on the menu, and you won’t regret stopping by.
This establishment is a joke. I overheard the mangers getting mad at a server because she had to go home and change her pants because of lady reasons. There should be no discrimination against women and their time of month. On another note the food was very oily and tasted like they don’t clean their kitchen. This establishment needs to get their priorities straight. How do they think they can run an establishment when they don’t even care about their products or workers. My napkin was dirty before I used it and their was lipstick on my cup. Worst experience ever if you are thinking about coming here I would think twice. Lots of better places in Santa Fe to go. Just awful.
The ambiance at this place is so cute! There are lots of different table settings for different sized groups. My mom and I were in a but of a hurry when we ate, and our waitress was perfect. She brought out our check early and came with to go boxes. So considerate! The food was delicious, and the hibiscus tea was very refreshing! Highly recommend!
Their empanadas are divine! Theres one with corn that I now crave if I go too long without eating it, and each of the varieties with the ground beef filling my husband and I devoured happily in short order.I also highly recommend including some of their chimichurri sauce to go with it.I now have a large container of it in my fridge because it pretty much goes with everything.
Stunningly attractive modern airy coffee shop with table service. Very good Argentinean style pastries. Coffee was well prepared but the coffee itself is good-not-great. Indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommended.
Such a cute restaurant. It is like a little oasis. Their food is great
This place is great. The ambience is phenomenal. The coffee is very good and empanadas on top of everything. Cant recommend enough.
This is one of my favorite spots in Santa Fe; super friendly and welcoming and the space is absolutely gorgeous. Spacious with beautiful views, plants, decor and delicious Argentine-inspired food and drinks. There’s also a stunning courtyard and garden outside with seating, plants and a water fountain. A lovely oasis. (Sharing was photos of the space here as I know others will share food pics - and the vibe of the cafe is equally as delicious :)
Great food: empanadas in a garden like atmosphere. Good service also!
Very nice morning light in the beautiful garden, and not busy if you arrive early. We loved the empanadas, especially the breakfast one and the ground beef one. Wonderful flavors. Coffees and service were A+!
My fiancé and I were at the end of 27 day road trip across the country. We decided to stop in Santa Fe for the week. We stumbled across the cutest apartment we rented out for the week, which was located right above this cafe. I cannot tell you how wonderful the ENTIRE staff here was. We ate here almost every morning, and the food just kept getting better. I also want to point out how professional the team here at Cafecito was with covid-19 precautions. The food, coffee, and atmosphere will have you never wanting to leace. 10/10 100 STARS!
Breakfast empanada fantastic. Great patio, impeccable service.
Great beers. Great service. Good food! Hanna was awesome as a server
Delicious coffee. Love this place! And they give a discount for bicycle riders.
“Argentine Breakfast”1 small scrambled egg bathed in butter1 small croissant (made from frozen dough)1/4 of a rotten avocado4 paper thin slices sour provolone (4” x 4”)-$14.00 + tax & tipSubstandard ingredients and zero resemblance to anything in Argentina. Nothing had salt or seasoning. Also, dulce de leche/chimuchuri were missing. ZERO FLAVOR.NEVER, EVER, AGAIN
This is a really cute place to grab some breakfast, and enjoy the wonderful patio when the weather is nice. Tried some empanadas and they were quite tasty!. Service was so friendly too!
Wow, what an oasis of a coffee spot. Beautiful atmosphere, great service, delicious empanadas. Got the breakfast empanada and a double espresso, felt like I was abroad (in a not pretentious way)
Amazing ! A taste of Argentina in New Mexico. Wonderful staff and menu items you legit can not get anywhere else
Very slow but good food and people
Great new place here in Santa Fe. Food is really good. Good service. My family loves the restaurant decoration and layout with indoor and outdoor sitting.
The atmosphere was so chill and the food was excellent and abundant! The steak with the Argentinian Breakfast was perfectly seasoned and flavorful; house-made blueberry jam was also a knockout. Dulce de Leche latte rounded out a perfect meal. Did I mention the staff was friendly, too?
Great and authentic flavor. Will be back for more. Best baba-ganouch I have ever had. Empanadas como las de mi mamá (like my mothers). I was sad I had to share my lomito. Very good coffee (try the dulce de leche latte). One visit is not enough. The place is beautifully decorated. Loved the pottery and mate-gourds.
The coffee and Lemon poppy seed loaf were awesome! The staff was excellent. Very friendly and attentive. An awesome place to have a meal or a snack. Cant wait to go back.
We are giving Cafecito 3 stars purely for the beautiful ambiance and wonderful staff. However, as for the “traditional Argentinian food”…..not so much. Every dish we ordered was devoid of flavor in seemingly every way possible. My husband, who has traveled to and worked/ lived throughout Latin America, including Argentina, was looking forward to reliving the burst of flavors from his gastronomical experience in Argentina. Sadly, the food lacked any flavor whatsoever. Myself, being Latina, I was looking forward to the richness of the Argentinian culinary expression but sadly, I also found a void of flavor. It’s almost as if the dishes we experienced were purposely under seasoned to allow customers to “salt and pepper” as needed, Latino food is synonymous with bursting flavors……this wasn’t that!!! Even the sangría was unforgettable. It contained zero fruit, and tasted like a glass ice-filled Malbec. On a positive note as A Latina, the dulce de leche was promising and the closest thing to traditional Latino culinary expression.
Food is good, but everytime I come here the menu is different and so are the ingredients in the dishes....the fries are getting so thin theyre matchsticks and extremely hard
Wonderful indoor & outdoors environment with delicious food.
Excellent casual lunch served outside by a charming waitress. Good range of dishes, desserts, coffee and tea drinks, and beer and wine. Very reasonably priced. Go there soon.
What a amazing place!!!My husband and I found it while waiting for car being serviced at nearby Discount Tire. We had two cappuccinos, croissant and few empanadas. Everything so fresh and prepared just for you. We checked the lunch menu and came back few days later . Our lunch experience was even more amazing than breakfast. Our server was Manuk ( hope that’s how you spell your name), the owners son. So attentive and extremely polite. Food was exceptionally tasty; hubby had Argentinian steak sandwich and I had Ensalada Paradiso with grilled shrimp. Their chimichurri is full of flavor! If you are in the area it’s a must!!!
The service is excellent. The atmosphere is charming. Great choice for a relaxed morning or afternoon in Santa Fe.
We went to Santa Fe from Albuquerque for art shows and decided to try this place for brunch. Great choice! My ham and cheese croissant was better than I had before, even in Europe. My husband put his head down to eat, and when he looked up, he said, I have never had and I waited for him to burst my balloon. No, he finished his thought by saying that he had never had Chilaquiles (one of his favorites) this good anywhere. Service was attentive but not in your face. Highly recommended.
Absolutely amazing place, delicious food and sweet service.
We tried Cafecito for the first time yesterday and their empanadas were wonderful. We tried an assortment and enjoyed each one. They also have great banana bread. Can’t wait to go back!
Nice breakfast. Tasty food. Good servers.
While the location was nice it was extremely loud I couldnt even hear my date. On top of that every single thing we ordered was so off putting it made my stomach turn. The hibiscus tea tasted like musty water and the pasta was very gummy. In the end both me and my date were very disappointed. The fact that they had the audacity to charge my entire bank account for this grub was infuriating. Will never be coming back.
Great Argentine flavors and local favorites. I was in town for a short time and enjoyed their breakfast twice. The homemade empanadas, with a flaky crust and flavorful fillings, are a modern interpretation of a classic. And full service yerba mate -- the perfect pairing, every time! The space is beautiful inside and on the extensive patio.
My favorite go-to for outside seating and a bite to eat with a glass of wine. Casual but not too casual = just right. Lots of empanada options for everyone’s preferences. If you really want the vegan gluten free ones though, you may want to call ahead and be sure there are some available before you show up bc your only other VGF options are pretty lacking in pizazz aka originality & excitement.
Exactly what I like for breakfast. Eggs avocado and toast. Location feels like an oasis.
A somewhat limited entree menu is mostly made up for by some good appetizer choices and a truly epic selection of empanadas. Some outdoor and indoor dining locations were adequate but not completely comfortable (bench seating at picnic tables, plastic tables and chairs) ... though the other decor was tasteful. As is the (unfortunate) trend with many restaurants today, the seasoning (especially salt) was spartan or non-existant (they have apparently not become aware of the latest health studies finding salt is NOT as bad for health as previously thought, and is indeed essential). However, the portions were adequate and filling if not completely satisfying to those with more than bland tastes. My major disappointment was a flank steak requested medium rare being medium to medium well. On the other hand, my wife found their salmon to be good and excellently cooked, but again sadly lacking in seasoning. I assuaged myself with their rather good flourless chocolate coconut cake, augmented by some rich and satisfying Taos cow vanilla ice-cream. Others in our 10 person party found some of their other desserts interesting.Service was slow (euro leisurely), but good and accommodating.
Great patio, havent tasted the chow 🙄
Great food and atmosphere. Little pricey but if they keep up quality but an issue.
Cozy, very good empanadas and soup!
Amazing breakfast and lunch, service is great and the place is beautiful!
Wonderful Aesthetic: tables outside on the patio or inside with glass windows floor to ceiling, sunlight enlivening the conversation and the food. Many many small plate alternatives with empanadas at the center of the menu: thin baked crusts stuffed with mixed alternatives.
You cant be in a hurry here because everything takes forever especially the coffee but not to disappoint everything was delicious cant wait to go back.
I am from Uruguay, and since we share many dishes with Argentina, I was very excited to try this restaurant. It is 100% authentic Argentinian food and absolutely delicious. You will see me often there! :)
Terrific restaurant for lunch and dinner. Beautiful setting.
Amazing service! Highly recommend this place. The chimichurri is 100% homemade and the empanadas delicious. Reminds me of my grandma cooking! I will definitely be back.
Im a huge fan of empanadas, so I absolutely had to try this place as soon as I found out about it! Fortunately they offer sample plates where you can try 3 different kinds of empanadas for those of us who want to try everything. My favorite was the more traditional beef but I enjoyed the spinach and ricotta almost as much. The vegan option was a little too spicy for my sensitive stomach and didnt have the flavor I was hoping for. For dessert I tried their specialty dulce de leche latte and absolutely loved it. It was just sweet enough, and sitting outside drinking it made me feel like I was in a cafe in Buenos Aires. I will definitely be back to try the rest of their menu, and maybe just a coffee break.
They have a wonderful patio space. I highly recommend checking it out.
Love this beautiful place. Empanadas to die for, plus salads. Tea, coffee, wine now, too
Best empanadas I have had in the US! So pleased with the authentic Argentine options! :)
Let’s start with the beautiful patio. Green and water, rocks as tables, and trees for shade. Service (maynor) great. Knew the menu and was was patients with my slow self. Food was so good. Chilaquiles were good, but that dulce se leche panqueque 🤤. Anyway, very good happy to have gone there. Price? A bit, but remember, the closer to down the pricier it gets for all of us.
This is one of the best restaurants in Santa Fe! They have great quality food that never fails to impress. My personal favorites are the breakfast empanadas, Leymeyun, Bunuelos, and the rosemary French fires. You cant go wrong with what you choose. Their employees are friendly and caring! Highly recommend! I tip my hat :)
Great place! I love the food but specially the desserts! I love the Dulce de Leche Empanada!
Authentic Argentine cafe with yerba mate drinks, the full spectrum of house made empanadas, and other various dishes and sweets from the county. Everything was delicious. Served in a charming, fun, clean and friendly environment. A piece of me will always be in Argentina, and this was the best Argentine establishment Ive ever visited in the United States.
Amazing Place! I loved the vegan empanadas!
Great food and friendly customer service
Great coffee and great service
Simply the best! Their sandwiches, salads, pastries, yerba mate (!!), everything is using the highest quality ingredients and prepared to perfection. I love the mezze plate and really everything Ive had here is great.
An urban gem in the railyard district. A fun hangout!
Great food great service
My girlfriend and I ordered a food delivery from this fine restaurant via Uber Eats for the very first time. The food was absolutely fresh and excellent! I had the Lomito sandwich. It had in it steak, veggie greens, a fried egg and ham. This sandwich also comes with tomatoes and fresh salad greens on the side with a tasty vinaigrette. It was so tasty and fresh! The rosemary French fries were excellent and not over salted. The fries had just the right amount of salt. My girlfriend had the croissant with ham and melted cheese. And it was mmmm! This restaurant features Argentinean and Italian cuisine. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Great space, service, food and drinks!
Great service and the split pea soup was the best I’ve ever had!
I’ve been to Argentina, I’ve eaten Argentina in Miami, I’m married to an Argentine and this place is spot on! Makes me feel like I’m in a cafe on 9 de Julio in Buenos Aires!!!! Buying a bunch of frozen empanadas for the trip back to Tennessee!!
Lovely Argentinian cafe with flair, in amazing modern style, great musi and, consistent friendly service. Authentic food, if Argentinian steak, sandwiches or empanadas are tasty and the dulce de leche latte is a hit!
Greatest, well prepared food ssssslllllooooowwwwweeeeesssssttttt service ever.
Lovely place with good food.
Wonderful empanada lunch in a beautiful garden setting!
Bustling! Happy to see these guys doing well
So cute, great coffee, enthralled at the fact they have gluten free empanadas
Great place!
